We, as a fandom, do not talk enough about how Barbatus KILLED the Tpof dlc Soundtrack
Host Pathogen Interface is exactly what my brain sounds like when I’m panicking
Hindbrain Self-I can’t even listen to half the time cause of how tragic and hopeless it is
So Much For The Tolerant Left?? Disturbing, droning, I don’t think I’ve ever described an audio as “hulking” before, but here we are. Given what it was used for, just listening to the audio alone can be nauseating
And then there’s Empty Love. It portrays warmth and hope for new beginnings, but behind the facade it’s perfectly cold and hollow. The only way one would be tricked into believing the lighter notes were something positive would be through losing all trust in anything the outside world has to offer. It greatly portrays the MC’s loss of sanity and hope for any other life outside of Fox. Reminds me of the “City Lights” audio for Celia.
And those are just my favorites from the DLC and the way I perceive them! I love listening to the soundtracks when I’m working, writing, etc, and I’d love to start a conversation about it!
[Image ID: A drawing of Hunter from The Owl House. He stands, smiling, with one foot crossed behind the other, and he holds Waffles in staff form.
He wears a maroon collared shirt, with brown and gold Victorian suspenders. There is a similarly colored brown witch hat on his head, with maroon lining and a maroon ribbon wrapped around the base of the hat’s crown. Two feathers are tucked into the ribbon, one red and one blue. He has checkered brown pants and a pair of greyish-brown boots.
The background of the image is pale purple, with a few maroon feathers floating in the air around Hunter.
The second two images are closeups of Hunter and Waffles. End ID]
rewatched space babies just now and the 'they're inside the tv show' theory is making a whole lot of sense. hitting all the beats of what feels like quintessential dw, but kind of oddly fitted together. the 'last of the time lords' lore dump, sonic-ing the phone to call mum, the tardis translation/the nanny filter, 'every story needs a hero,' the doctor saving the monster/'you save them all,' giving the tardis key, 'tell your mum not to slap me,' scanning the companion without her knowledge... and the snow/memory scene is a literal flashback, just with the characters remembering what the tv showed us.
They're still there. They're in there. They're in they're body but yet they're so far gone. the infections like a parasite and yet two was trying to fight it, they were scared and they wanted gaty. Not just to protect her but to feel the person that they felt close and comfortable around, and to take them both to the couch, they could've went for anyone. But they went for GATY. they could've killed her but they didn't. There's something so strangely endearing about that. Truly. Even when they're voice is being used to lure gaty in a sense I feel two geniunely wanted to help, they're so far gone, the little details, not just with how they move but with how they SPEAK. they're practically the host for a parasite and yet. They're still there.
I fucking love the wheel of time show everyone should watch it. Couldn’t understand why so many people were giving it negative reviews and then I came to the realization that it was made specifically for the weird gays on tumblr that actually appreciate interesting storytelling. it was made for the people who love awful women, unconventional relationships, negative character development, toxicity, polyamory, qprs, unhealthy devotion, etc etc
