I love to name evrything. I name inanimate objects. I name Pokémon that I catch in games. I name vehicles I’ve driven. And it’s usually a peopley name. Unless it needs to be something else. Like in Stardew Valley, I have some pigs named Onion, Roomba, and Turnpike. Thought everyone should know.

I have to try this. I did play an undercover Jedi who, when in sudden need of a pseudonym, swapped the first syllables of her first and last name. Sounded equally plausible either way.

There's someone I vaguely knew of a few years ago called Peter quince.

It used to tickle me silly whenever I saw his name. I honest to god hope people would constantly make Shakespeare references around him.

Robot characters who are given names like SL-308-62 but instead of their human friend going Well let's call you Sally for short, they instead ask the other if they Like their current name.

"Do you like your serial number?" they ask. "Yes, quite. It reminds me of who I am" the robot replies. "I have heard others like me go by different names after some time, and maybe one day I'll choose one for myself, too. But right now that is my full name, yes" they continue.

Because it's not your decision to make whether or not the robot will receive a new name. It should be theirs only. What's the difference? One is more complex and the other is simplified. They were both given by strangers instead of themselves.

"62 will do," they conclude. "It's my model number - there will be no other 62 after me."

reading the script for "Oliver with a Twist", a possible play that the group i did The Importance of Being Earnest with might do next time, and there's a character in it called Charley Bates, right. and the script looks like it's just taken the lines straight from the book so they're all old-timey and whatever, and several times the narrators refer to this Charley character as Master Bates. completely unironically. incredible.

I realized I don't really remember gen 5 all that well so I'm taking a crack at a playthrough (not nuzlocke, dear God)- however I may lean on the idea of just catching the first Pokemon I see on each route to make a more interesting team.

But I am not immune to the Silly Names

I decided to name my character "Aud, um".

It makes everyone sound very insecure.
