ok it’s pretty much the very opposite of the ocean but I would like to raise awareness of a really cool biome!

The piñon juniper woodland is a desert-like environment and covers about 15% of the western US and occurs between 4,500 and 7,500 feet in elevation! This biome consists of some ground cover, scrubby piñon trees and juniper trees, which are usually not much taller than 10 feet! This biome also occurs in close proximity to Joshua trees which are an endangered species endemic to the southwest US. A lot of different species call this habitat home, including tumbleweeds (which are native to Ukraine!), the endangered pinyon jay, reptiles, great horned owls, and many species of cactus! The piñon juniper woodland doesn’t really get much coverage and is threatened by climate change especially wildfires and many species are declining in population. This environment has a lot of cultural significance to the native people and is an important habitat in the American west. I hope this silly little post has helped raise some awareness of this beautiful biome! here’s a picture I took in Arizona in a piñon juniper woodland at about 5000 feet of elevation

I have always wondered what people would choose to do first if time travel was real, and I know a lot of people have mentioned that they would use it to go back into the past and stop murders and wars and the like before they even happen, and it made me think of this scenario happening very unintentionally where one day someone just goes back in time for the hell of it to see what other time periods were like but then they get distracted by this sad looking Victorian boy on the street and randomly decide “yeah I’m adopting you” without even realizing that it was young, recently abandoned Alistair Crump and that their one “just for the hell of it” decision ended up saving over 1000 people and prevented a multitude of absolutely terrible things from happening

Probably like the one time you ever hear of the butterfly effect in a positive way

Michael seeing Spring trap for the first time is a strange experience.

He knows that thing used to be his father but sometimes it's hard to wrap his head around . It eats animals alive, it claws and scratches at anyone that gets too close, it voice is still Williams but it is insidious and small, It wears a dirty children's blanket as a lure to get kids to follow it. In most senses it's an animal, Some kind of beast that should be confined to dark small places.

But then sometimes it's like his father the man who raised him is staring directly into his soul through its eyes. The way it speaks to him the way it looks at him. He sees William. To William he is nothing he is a tool to be used and thrown away and he's been used to his breaking point.

I really like how big my hair was today ^^ although I kinda want to give my hair more layers so i can make it look a lot cooler, because now the length kinda gets in the way? at least I figured out how to add a bit of my fringe to make it come together a bit more (and adds to the 80s vibe \o/)
