Local Alchemist needed to be stopped.

My formula of restore fatigue:
Spring salad: lettuce, radish, potato, (optional: apple, orange, watermelon). Unfortunately it has Burden side effect. (if choose orange, you'll get a bonus Shield effect) Can also side with Ranch dressing: cheese wedge, leek, onion, garlic. And this one has Damage Agility side effect. It can be fix by removing the garlic.
Potato soup: potato, garlic, leek. This recipe has Frost Shield side effect. Perfect choice for a cold weather.
Corn salsa: corn, tomato, onion, garlic. Unfortunately it has Damage Agility side effect, but you can get Detect Life in the process.
Grilled cheese sandwich: bread loaf, cheese wedge, cheese wheel. Unfortunately it has Damage Agility side effect. I should have removed the cheese wedge. Sorry Baurus :(
Classic ham sandwich: bread loaf, cheese wedge, ham, lettuce. Unfortunately this recipe also has Damage Agility side effect, but bonus Fire Shield woohoo!
Gyudon: beef, onion, rice
Mix berries: blackberry, strawberry, (we only have two kinds of berries?) (optional: apple, orange, pear). Actually, don't put apple or pear in it. They will cause Damage Health.
Crabby corn soup: crab, corn, onion. You can add cheese wedge for bonus Fire Shield (and Damage Agility) effect.
Chili con carne: beef (/boar meat /mutton /venison), onion, garlic, tomato. Side effect is Detect Life. (Beef flavor will grant you Shield effect. Unfortunately Boar meat will have burden side effect and Venison is Damage Health)
Pumpkin pie: pumpkin, sweetcake (/flour /sweetroll). Unfortunately both flour and sweetroll has Damage Personality side effect
Carrot cake: carrot, sweet cakes
Strawberry cheesecake: strawberry, cheese wedge, flour (/sweetcake /sweetroll). The flour version has Reflect Damage side effect. I highly recommend it.

what is the one minecraft crafting recipe that, despite how long you have played the game and how many times you’ve used it, you have never, in your life, been able to remember?

hades 2 hot take that's gonna get me probably excommunicated (underworld end boss spoilers)
the people who complain about the pause disabling feature before even finding out that an in-game way to disable it exists, hit me on the same annoyed bone spot as those who complain about the new dash 3 days into the game. They see an obstacle and the knee jerk reaction is to protest Right Now instead of framing it as a thing that might have a workaround later, either as something mechanically provided, or something they can learn over time.
I'm getting behind the request that pause enabling shouldn't be locked behind winning, but there's enough people wanting it straight up gone that I want to scream.
Accessibility should mean better availability of solutions, not removing the problem.

Pears in Whisky Syrup
Tumblr media
When you come home from a holiday, even a short one, to find a glut of beautiful Williams pears scattering the Kitchen Garden where they have fallen, there is no time to waste to make a delicious recipe with them! These Pears in Whisky Syrup are a delicious way to preserve the bounty, which you will brighten a cold Winter day with a taste of sunshine and the delightful smokiness of peated Whisky! Happy Monday!
Ingredients (makes 2 jars; 1 large, 1 medium):
1 3/4 cup caster sugar
 3/4 cup demerara sugar
3 plump vanilla beans, split lengthwise
1 1/2 litre/6 cups water
about 30 just ripe Williams Pears
1/2 cup 10 Years Peated Bowmore Single Malt Whisky
In a large pot of boiling water, boil a 1/-litre/1-quart jar and a 1 1/2-litre/1-½-quart jar, 10 minutes, to sterelise them.
Pour caster sugar and demerara sugar in a large pot. Scrape seeds off the vanilla beans, and add both seeds and pods to the pot. Stir in water, and heat over medium-high heat, stirring often until sugar is completely dissolved. Once it is, increase heat to high, and boil rapidly, about 5 minutes, stirring often.
Meanwhile, halve, peel and core Williams pears. Reduce heat to medium-low and gently add pear halves into the syrup. Cover with the lid, and cook, for about 15 to 20 minutes, until just tender.
Stir in Whisky, and remove from the heat.
Remove jars from the boiling water carefully, and dry.
Carefully spoon pears and their Whisky syrup into sterelised jars, discarding vanilla pods, avoiding any drizzling on the side or rim. Once filled, close tightly and return to the boiling water bath, 20 minutes. Carefully remove from heat and let cool completely.
Once opened, you can keep  Pears in Whisky Syrup 3 weeks to a month in the refrigerator. Serve them warm or cold with yogurt, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream or Whisky Ice Cream…

Lambert is so good at making potions and concoctions it's very normal for him to get jobs from healers and witches to help with mass orders or just to improve on certain recipes. His brothers, however, fucking suck at making their own shit and Lambert is always grousing and complaining and chewing them out for it whenever he comes across them
Eskel is so good with his signs he just doesn't see why making the potions is necessary and so never bothered to learn how to do it right without fucking up the measuring and Geralt is a "as long as it gets the job done it's fine" type of guy so he just won't take into account the taste or after-effects of them
You best believe after their Kaer Morhen winters Lambert always sends them off with a whole satchel full of "the proper ones" that he's made himself and if he happens across them on the Path the first thing he does is demand to check their supplies and while Geralt will at least have the correct ingredients Eskel is The Fucking Worst at remembering to stock
Lambert has barked at him about this many times over the years

going to other people's houses for dinner is wild because it's such a crapshoot on what kind of culinary experience you're about to have. some places it's just delightful and you feel like you're in that one scene in ratatouille where it's all colourful when he tastes the ingredients. other places it feels like whatever the fuck is on your plate is a close cousin of the pulp they use in paper manufacturing and you wish you had pulled a hillary clinton and smuggled some hot sauce in your bag
