pokeani moments that exist purely to make Me miserable:
the line where they call ash's oshawott a throwaway pokemon in the unova league so they're just flat out saying they think it's a worthless pokemon
to thine own pokemon be true (extra angst points for me bc ambipom was my second favorite on the team at the time)
the granddaughter of the guy who trains gliscor calling gliscor pathetic and weak to her face despite gliscor being an extremely sensitive pokemon
pretty much everything about that gible
blue episode (favorite color but they made it a fetish somehow and also dewott and brionne and meowstic are all there and its so bad)
boxing heracross immediately. also that battle frontier episode where it's literally the only returning ash mon (barring torkoal i think but i dont count it bc its native to AG) to get humiliated onscreen
pidgeot returning but gliscor didn't even show up in the miniseries despite being an Actual Character
#sorry ik i keep bringing up the throwaway line but like. its SOOOOOOOOOO bad holy shit#the heracross one isnt aaaaaas bad tbf bc they really make up for it in the sinnoh league#but aside from one ep in the miniseries we never quite get an episode where oshawott proves itself in a battle#i still love that episode bc it still kinda feels like an apology for all the oshawott bashing in bw but i am a little :/#that battling didnt even come up once#ive kiiinda eased up on gliscors benching episode bc at the end of the day it isssss pretty good to her. also its the best animated one#but its treatment like what i mentioned that still really drags it down to me#and also like. i know ppl praise gliscor being so powerful after the episode but i really dont get why we couldnt have just#had a gliscor training arc onscreen. but ig we wouldnt have that stupid ass gible plot that went nowhere now would we#but like.... we had such a huge stretch between that episode and the league. i really dont get why we couldnt have had a mini arc#where gliscor realizes shes not pulling her weight that well and really starts hauling ass#she doesnt really even sweep in the paul fight. she gets beaten immediately by ninjask#the drapion part was awesome tho yayyyy#but my point is that it wouldnt really change much if gliscor just stayed and got stronger on its own#have the bench episode be a wake up call for gliscor rather than a goodbye one and she becomes super competent#like im not just saying this bc gliscor is my favorite character in the entire show. i feel like its straight up kinda lazy and less reward#rewarding#imagine how the drapion fight could be EVEN MORE cathartic if we saw gliscor struggle and fight to get better throughout the show#as much as i like that specific battle and ash vs paul as a whole... it just kinda proves my point that sending gliscor away at all#was kind of a shitty move#like ohhhhh ash's team is all getting revenge for lake acuity yay!!!!! oh one of them was kicked off for the sake of a shitty gible plot th#which really only served to make shitty piplup bashing jokes and only actually had a conclusion in the league itself#by which time it was too late to actually do anything else with it. yeah we kicked someone off for that. but shes back now!!!#like it doesnt weaken the battle THAT much. in fact theres some value in how ash went out of his way to make sure gliscor could be there#so her defeat could also be avenged. and its still my fave battle in the whole anime. but it just proves to me how pointless that was reall#echoed voice

what’s up have a helpful list of tags:
pla roleswap au: featuring 15 year old chosen hero Ingo and 28 year old Warden Akari, who cares for Lady Sneasler.
zoroark possession au: general tag for the zoroark possession au! there’s three main variations of it-
one where Ingo ends up in Hisui still in his human body (but damn is he weird)
and one where Ingo gets yeeted while outside of his human body and becomes the Pearl Clan’s new Noble Pokemon, with Akari as his Warden.
then there’s the modern au, which there is a separate tag for. come here if you want everyone in the Pearl Clan to be a Zoroark as they fight for survival against Champion Volo and the Unova League. Come here if you want to see Emmet get brainwashed and fight against his brother!
tfw you and the zorua that possessed you as an infant have a timeshare arrangement for your body. that’s how you get Cyan.
if you combine the roleswap AU with the lord zoroark AU, you get Akari as a Zoroark who is yeeted to Hisui and becomes Lady Zoroark, and a fifteen year old Ingo who becomes her warden.
pla ageswap au: a significantly less serious au where Ingo and Akari switch ages with one another after a mishap in a space-time distortion. They’re stuck like this for the postgame portion of PLA and for a good clip after returning to the present.
zoroark mama au: or the beta zoroark possession AU, where Ingo is abducted by a Hisuian Zoroark as an infant and raised by her for years before reuniting with Emmet.
reincarnation au: Ingo dies in Hisui. He lives again in Sinnoh. He grows up, goes on a Pokemon journey, and slowly remembers.
reincarnation au but ingo is literally reborn in Hisui instead bc he died in the space time rift and this was Arceus’ attempt to fix that.
reincarnation au but Ingo is reborn in Ultra Space and becomes a part of the Ultra Recon Squad.
team chaos au: in which Ingo and Dawn are kidnapped by the leader of an evil team, and in their place, Kuroaku and Akari are born. In order to get them back, their loved ones form a united front- both to save them, and to thwart the plans of Team Chaos’ leader.
emmet in hisui au: an AU in which Emmet is yeeted into Hisui with Ingo, BUT Ingo still loses his memories.
spy x family au: exactly what it says on the tin. Zisu is a master spy, Ingo’s a master assassin, Akari is a baby telepath and together they form a fake family.
lunar duo au: or that AU where Ingo and Akari are merged with Darkrai and Cresselia respectively.
reverse time travel AU: AU in which Ingo and Akari are born in Hisui and time travel hundreds of years to Unova’s future in order to help stop the rifts that have been forming there.
faller gene AU: Ingo/Zisu AU in which they get together in Hisui and have children- a pair of fraternal twins... only for one to end up slipping through space-time to modern day Unova.
giratina’s deal AU: AU in which Emmet dies in the rift, and Ingo sacrifices his body so he can live again, and is changed into an Alpha Zoroark by Giratina. There’s also a version where Ingo dies in the rift, and Emmet trades his body for him and is revived as Ingo’s Gliscor. You know, as a treat!
vision share AU: AU in which Ingo and Emmet have a special twin power- the ability to see what the other is seeing when they cover one of their eyes. This would be great for Hisui... except Ingo loses an eye upon arrival, and loses his power. Emmet, on the other hand...
Construct AU: AU in which Ingo and Akari are Constructs- human-shaped puppets that gain full sentience upon receiving love.
altered timeline au: AU in which Ingo and Akari were NOT meant to go to Hisui, and their actions there irrevocably change the timeline... but not if they can help it. Ingo and Akari villain arc go.
paradox au: AU in which Ingo regularly blips through time and space. He has no control of this. It leads to antics.
giratina possession AU: Ingo gets used as an unwilling vessel by Giratina. Everyone has a terrible time.
magical girl AU: Magical girl Akari takes on the frenzied Nobles of Hisui, aided by her fairy partner... Emmet who got turned into a Floette. Thanks Arceus.
ceruledge ingo AU: Ingo learns firsthand why you should touch mysterious armor- because you could end up possessed by a wrathful spirit. Oops!

I would consider checking out interregional terrorist list. Also, see if you can find anything on the attack on the unovan league some years ago (also known as this one time a mechanical tower appeared in the middle of the league and a green twink sicced his legendary dragon on the champion)
Is that something people still do??? I had heard of something similar going on here in Sinnoh, but I thought that after what happened in Kanto years ago with the whole Team Rocket fiasco, people would?? chill out?? Especially in Unova?
And I do remember hearing about the Champion being defeated, but y'know. Always assumed a "legendary dragon" meant a REALLY beefed Haxorus. Holy Arc, I need to do some research

hope ur doing well reese!!!! as for blur/blight........if u have anything to say abt any of the gym leaders id love to hear it!! :]
Hi Neela! Thank you for always wishing me well, I'm doing better emotionally now! :]
AWAWAWA the gym leaders ... here's some short stuff about each and every single one of them! :D
Chili - Youngest of the triplets! Was actually the first of the triplets to be scouted as a gym leader, before the league heard of his equally skilled brothers and had the idea to make them the perfect gym leaders for beginner trainers; he's the most passionate about battles. Has an interesting friendship with Bianca, but he and Hilda clash a lot! Most down to earth out of the triplets.
Cilan - Middle child of the triplets! He's the most passionate about the family business (running the restaurant), but picked up battling because of his brothers. He prefers to be support as much as he can. Also penpals with Emmet and Shauntal, and has really eloquent writing. Out of all the gym leaders, he's the closest to Cheren.
Cress - Eldest of the triplets! Though he tends to tease and bully his little brothers, he means well. The confidence he shows is not a mask, that's just who he is. Initially wanted to become a Pokemon Musical star, but put both the family business and the growth of their careers first over his dreams. One of the gym leaders post-BW that seem to be on Hilbert's side, despite his sudden disappearance. Also he's Cheren's first boyfriend.
Lenora - One of the gym leaders in Unova who's held the position the longest; she actually wanted to focus on her musuem first, but held onto the position as long as she did because the league was convinced no one could showcase the underrated strength of normal type Pokemon as well as she does! Her Watchog has been with her since she was a little girl, and she fondly refers to it as an aging grandpa who misses the old days where they would travel together. Has tutored Bianca and Cheren during their respective arcs pre-BW2, and entrusts the light and dark stones to Hilda.
Burgh - He grew up in Nacrene City, so Lenora has known him since he was a baby and she was a teenager. He's in contact with many different artists all over the world, and aspires to build a collection of bug type Pokemon to freely wander and climb in his gym. The closest contacts he has are Mina from Alola, and Opal from Galar. Childhood friends with the Graystone twins, Elesa, Skyla, and Grimsley.. though "friends" isn't really the best term to describe them. Also has a cringefail crush on Emmet.
Elesa - She's from Kanto, and has always looked up to her older cousin Sabrina as an inspiration. Her hair is naturally black, and many people comment she and Sabrina look very similar. She has a knack for spotting the potential in others, and it makes her very popular with young trainers and career women who aspire to have her optimism and confidence. Has always wanted little siblings, but since she doesn't have any, she dotes on the Graystone twins, the Nuvema gang, the Aspertia trio, and eventually, Yancy and Curtis.
Clay - Originally from Sinnoh, his name is actually Yakon, though only Elesa calls him that. He's helped Drayden and Alder raise most of their kids, and has babysat Skyla and Elesa several times himself when they were young. He and Lenora are often in contact due to their careers overlapping, and he was actually the one that unearthed the peculiar fossil that was The Heart's Tirtouga. His niece is Caitlin of the Elite Four, though both of them prefer to keep this a secret from the rest of the league.
Skyla - Also from Hoenn, and she's good friends with both Winona and Wallace of the Hoenn league! The league considers her their designated driver of any terrain, despite the fact she only excels at the sky; her driving is terrible, and she herself gets seasick easily. She aspires to establish a Ride Pokemon service in Unova with the aid of her bird Pokemon, and starts out by training Altaria to be used for medical emergencies! She's also the one that gives Hugh his goggles that he uses to withstand sandstorms.
Brycen - A peculiar and quiet guy whose past is shrouded in mystery.. or so he tries, he's from Johto, and was co-workers with Hugh's dad in the past as gym trainers before he pursued his passion for acting. He has a soft spot for kids, and worries about those who want to join the entertainment industry, so he looks out after Rosa when she decides she wants to become a movie star. In addition, he gives her training to help her withstand the ice and hail much better.
Drayden - Along with Lenora, he's been in the league the longest, and was even champion himself at some point. He knows that the legends passed on to his family is incomplete and wishes to uncover the truth, which he feels can be done if he passes down the Relic Song to trainers he can trust. He knows everyone from the league in a personable manner, and most of the young league members look up to Drayden as some sort of guardian figure as a result.
Roxie - her request for a gym in Virbank City was granted the second the Striaton Triplets thought of retiring, though her incentive was mainly to help provide tourism to her city, Flocessy, and Aspertia. She works hard for what she wants, and has a strong big sister instinct towards Rosa and her friends at Aspertia City. Back when she was a league challenger herself, Hilda was her main rival, though she dropped out of the league challenge to pursue music. She gave Nate his soundboard, which he uses for shit like this.
Marlon - another league challenger from Hilda's traveling days, though she's only seen him a couple of times. He's only a year older than the Striaton Triplets. Like Hilda, he lost against Alder, but was promised to be considered for a spot once there was a vacant spot in the league; he takes Brycen's place not too soon after Brycen retires, and Hilda refused his offer. As a result, he kinda has a onesided rivalry with her, but its all in good fun. He assists her and the others in recovering the missing necklace from the sea during the arc before Relic Castle arc.

^^^ CLICK TO LISTEN TO THE BROADCAST OF THE RACE!
Transcript from the Second Segment of the Lunar Race:
Good morning everyone! My name is Kinsey, with Sinnoh Now in conjunction with Goldenrod Radio.
It's a chilly, windy day up here in the Floating Isles brought you you by Lysader Labs, Macro Cosmos and Devon Coporation. Mankind truly has gone above and beyond indeveloping all kinds of amazing technology, haven't they?
The racers are lining up at the starting line right now and the crowds taking spots on the various isles are cheering and screaming. I can see flags from various regions flying up. From my vantage point I can make out flags from Kanto, from Paldea and Unova! Loads of fans are making their support known.
Our two pinch hitters, Yris and Hilary, are doing some stretches alongside their Garchomps.
Miss Rika is looking pretty confident beside Sosu. Despite being a Ground Type Specialist, she seems pretty at home up here in the sky.
Alistair is pumping up Daisy with a good pep talk. Must be a holdover from his days at Pokestar Studios, eh? Heard the stars there really bring each other up.
Brian is getting his equipment ready for his ride with Chelsea as well as Auwa with her mount.
Giacomo seems to be riding without his signature hat. A good choice; the winds up here will be pretty brutal. Wouldn't want to lose his hat and never see it again.
Green and Blue are both looking pretty confident in themselves. Which of these flyboys will get ahead? Can we expect another win from Green Oak?
Ashe is talking with Kumiko, looks like they're still sporting their colours together. Looking fashionable with your bandannas, you two!
Hassel and Ghetsis are pretty quiet, such stalwart figures. Ghetsis looks so regal and composed and Hassel so calm. Dragon experts really are something else. Considering how they placed last time, will this be their redemption arc?
All right, everyone is getting into place. Unlike the the Water Track, the Sky track is high up in the air. Last time, the Water Track left off at the Pokemon League and that's where our racers will be kicking off! Starting from one of the Floating Isles above the League building, our racers will dive off their platforms and into the sky, headed towards the first marker at Veilstone City! After that it's a straight shot through Solaceon to Hearthome, with several obstacle hoops to fly through in between, and then touching down just outside of Eterna City.
There's quite a bit of danger involving this part of the race, but no worries! We have several members from the Pokemon Centers ready to go as well as many air marshals riding on their own Pokemon in case they need to catch our riders and their dragons.
Now...let's cheer on our racers and pray for their safe journey.
*1....2....3....GO!!!*
And they're off to a great start!
Diving headfirst into the air below, Hilary and Yris are leading the charge, followed by Alistair and Giacomo. The others are following suite and – oh, Team Luxray has gotten off to a bad start! Instead of diving off spectacularly as they had some days ago during a display of Pokemon and human bonds, both have tripped up and tumbled off of the starting platform instead! They're catching themselves up, though, Rika holding on fast to her mount and they're joining the rest.
The air is full of racers flying majestically through the clouds. We are now following them via Pokemon Taxi to get the best view and the best sound! Courtesy of the Safari Zone for volunteering these amazing Pigeot carrying the team safely along the track beside the racers.
Up ahead a large flock of Starly are incoming! Rika and Sosu dove under them, losing a bit of altitude, but gain distance and speed. Racer Hilary and Green Oak have veered to the side, avoiding the huge group of little birds. The rest of the group isn't so lucky and some have been pelted with the incoming bodies of little Starly. Oh, the marshals have caught the little ones affected by the impacts. Don't worry folks, they're all right! The Racers aren't in danger either, flying ahead to catch up.
Not to be outdone by his fellow Paldean, Hassel has caught up and surpassed Rika. Team Mamoswine is soaring ahead, leaving behind Team Luxray in their dust. On his tail is Green Oak of Team Girafarig. Keeping up a good pace is Yris of Team Bidoof, with Hilary and Aluwa coming in behind them. The others are starting to lag behind with Brian at the end of the pack.
We are headed towards Hearthome, but before that, we have the special aerial obstacle course which will prove the bond and maneuverability of each team.
Famed racer Aluwa is shining here, weaving through each loop like threading through the eye of a needle. Doing rolls in mid-air and whirls – what a show off. How graceful. Hassel is no slouch, either, moving through the obstacle with equal grace on top of Rosso. King Ghetsis is following Hassel's every move, gracefully going through the air as well, almost seeming to make a ballet in mid-air with Maryse and Team Mamoswine as their dance partner.
Blue seems to be having trouble, they've bumped into the loops more than once. Oh, Brian and Chelsea seemed to have selected a loop much too small for them to go through and have gotten stuck! The air marshals are flying over to help them get detangled safely and off they go again! Come Team Garchomp, you can do it! Go, go, go!
We're getting past Herathome and into the home stretch.
Currently Giacomo has shot to the forefront on Tyrant, leading the pack to the finish line.
He's followed by Ghetsis, then Aluwa and Green. Next we have Hassel slowing down a little, with Alistair, Yris, Blue, Hilary, Ashe and Brian. Looks like getting stuck in one of the loops cost Brian a lot of time!
We are losing altitude now as we near the finish line and the winds are getting a bit rough as a result as she change the distance between ourselves and the ground. Everyone is making the preparation for landing in front of Eterna City, but a few racers are struggling.
Oh! Aluwa and Hassel's safety harnesses have failed. They are hovering just a bit above their Garchomps, but they are holding onto dear life. Unfortunately it's not easy to make Garchomp turn around, though the other racers have noticed what's happened and are calling out in concern. Oh, the air marshals are coming in to keep an eye on the situation. They should be getting there in time – oh! Oh, no! Another harness malfunction! Hilary of Team Bastiodon has been completely thrown off of his mount! They have separated and the marshals are diving to go help him. The Team Bastiodon Garchomp is also diving to try and catch his rider. Down, down, down...CATCH! Great going guys! Hilary is back up and holding on – phew, that was a close one, but he's on his way again.
We can see Eterna City now! Alistair at the forefront now, Team Bidoof flying beside him. Will this be another photo finish? Oh, but wait! Coming from behind, zipping past Giacomo and Green, Ghetsis and Hassel are now outstripping everyone in the last few seconds. Just zooming ahead like bullets! It's coming down to the last couple of yards and we have A CLEAR WINNER!
GHETSIS HARMONIA HAS CROSSED THE FINISH LINE WITH HASSEL IN SECOND PLACE AND ALISTAIR IN THIRD!
Followed by Yris, Giacomo, Green, Rika, Hilary, Aluwa, Ashe, Blue and Brian. Guess that mess up in the air really cost him his placing. That's okay, Brian, you and Chelsea did your best!
Well, that was an exciting race two out of three for the Lunar Race. Last time we saw Ghetsis Harmonia in 8th place, but he's shot up to 1st! How amazing, what a comeback.
Thank you for tuning in everybody. I hope to see you again January 21st, for the final leg of the race.
This is Kinsey of Sinnoh now, signing off!

A/N: First chapter is a bit more serious than the rest of the story is gonna be. The following parts will be more or less snippets of Reader and Emmet in Hisui and their misadventures trying to stop things. I just needed a good set-up chapter as to why Reader and Emmet are working together, and how they ended in Hisui.
Also have fun translating Arceus’s speech. I found an English to Shakesparean translator and found it hilarious and did legit no editing to what it translated to. It was too good not to. Anyway, enjoy the story and again, the rest of the parts will be collections of mini series because the last thing we need is another fic that has a word for word play on the game.
Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5
Extras: Part 6 | Part 7
Discord (16+) - Request Information
Arceus' Mistake Pt. 1
Arceus had messed with the wrong trainers. You would’ve been fine if he had taken literally anyone else. Sure it would be a tragedy, but at the end of the day it wouldn’t have affected you. However, Arceus himself decided to take Ingo; a close friend of yours. Not to mention he did it right in front of his own brother's eyes…metaphorically.
You and Emmet had been struck by confusion when you had gone through the Gear Station footage after Ingo hadn’t made his way back home. It was like some portal opened up and just…took him. You two immediately went to the station but all you guys could find were his pokemon team, outside their pokeballs, and frantically searching for their trainer as well.
This cued what you liked to call your unhinged arc. Both you and Emmet decided you needed to get to the bottom of this and after traveling for over a year on pokemon myths, you had a few suspects. Some of them, landed you two in Alola (something Elesa was made that she hadn’t been invited to for vacation while you two sleuthed). Talking with a professor known as Burnet had helped you learn about wormholes. You two even tried going to the Aether Foundation to speak with someone named Mohn, only to find out he had disappeared in a bit of a different way years prior.
Burnet thankfully gave you a little bit of insight about an old phenomenon known as a “Space Time Distortion” that she studied briefly. It was something that happened in ancient Hisui, and she explained from the footage that it looked exactly like that.
So off to Sinnoh you two had gone, only to run into an issue with a team known as Team Galaxy. It took another year just to make headway and finally greet both Dialga and Palkia, neither of which would help you.
You and Emmet had almost given up hope that you’d find help until a pokemon known as Giratina made a show of itself and you both knew immediately, from the power it emitted when it arrived…this is what took Ingo. However you two soon realized that Giratina wasn’t exactly the friendly sort and there was no way it would help you out.
As a last ditch hope, you two decided to find a way to face Arceus…which thankfully wasn’t hard due to all the work you had done to defeat Giratina (and literally almost died due to the severe wounds you received trying to protect your starter pokemon). When the beastly pokemon had disappeared, there was a single flute that laid where it once stood…floated. After reading books you and Emmet made your way to Mount Coronet and played it at the Spear Pillar.
When Arceus finally arrived you had every intention of literally decking him yourself to get answers. It had been two years, nearing three, since Ingo had gone missing. You and Emmet had traveled all through the regions trying to find clues, leaving literally everything behind. Emmet the subway, and you the league you were once Champion of.
“Please, Arceus…we just want Ingo back. After everything we did to save Sinnoh…can’t we be granted this one thing!” You pleaded, hands clenched in front of you as tears threatened to spill out. Emmet’s hand was on your shoulder as he took an oddly serious look at Arceus.
“I can bringeth thy cousin backeth, this Ingo, on one condition. The foe thee combated bef're, Giratina, hast gone backeth in timeth to healeth fusty wounds. I needeth thee to stand ho that gent once m're, only aft'r yond shall i bringeth thee and thy cater-cousins backeth, in one piece.” Arceus’s words confused the hell out of you. The old timey speech was almost lost on you, but you managed to translate it.
“Fine, then Emmet and I will go together. I refuse to be parted from him. And once we get back…Ingo…he better be fine. I’m not saving the world again only for Ingo to come back and miss an arm or worse.” You said, knowing that this pokemon had the power. He created the world, after all. He probably just couldn’t directly interfere with things.
“If 't be true yond's what thee wisheth, then so beest t. Thy pokemon wonneth't beest able to maketh the journey, howev'r.” He said, his almost glowing eyes glanced over you, “Thy tasks art as follows: stand ho the foe and discov'r all pokemon.”
“What does that mean?” You asked, leaning over to Emmet and whispering.
“Kill Giratina, find pokemon.” Emmet nodded with a small smile.
“Gotcha…” You said before glancing back at Arceus, “Alright, let’s get this show on the road then. Will you be watching our team while we’re out?”
“I bethink th're is someone bett'r suit'd…an Elesa.”
“Elesa…how does he know Elesa?” You whispered back at Emmet.
“He’s god.” Emmet nodded and again you had to agree. “Alright…let’s go then, Arceus.”

headcanons for Palletshipping?
Also what is Gary's hair routine?
Ooooo! I still need to do an official post buuuut let me post some:
Ash’s Japanese name is Satoshi while Gary’s is Shigeru. When they were younger they couldn’t pronounce the “sh” so they called each other SatoCHI and CHIgeru. They still do now at times.
Ash is pan and Gary is gay. Ash always gave me the kind of vibe that he loves everybody.
Ash didn’t really know about stigmas with guys dating. He was just like “I like Gary” and no internal crisis.
Gary on the other hand was the opposite. Took him a looooong time to be fully open.
Dated in secret because of it and because they wanted to slowly get a feel for each other first.
Ash helped Gary open up, but since Ash was one of the causes of him hiding his emotions, it took years.
Ash calls Gary when he has time - even remembering to call him more-so than his mother. Gary berates him on that to his chagrin.
Pikachu and Umbreon are best friends and become a couple.
Gary sends Ash gifts when he knows which town Ash is in.
Ash sends Gary handwritten notes since while Gary likes material possessions, he appreciates a heartfelt gift from someone more.
Brock knew all along.
There was kind of a confession at the lake during the Silver Conference under the full moon but Ash didn’t get it. (Canon! Kinda.)
Gary was slowly courting Ash unknowingly then when he realized he freaked and stopped.
Ash eventually realized (since he likes him and took notice of him acting out of character) and bluntly asks him out.
Gary got embarrassed and wouldn’t do anything for several minutes but then was like “Weellll I see you’ve got taste Ashy-boy and you look cute today so I’ll say yesss.”
On their dates they catch up and actually talk. And I mean talk. Not just about pokemon - family, friends, adventures, everything good and bad.
Gary doesn’t feel close to his grandfather so he was anxious to tell him. Ash was all for telling his mom. Ash wanted to know if Gary wanted to tell her first but Gary said it would be best if they told them both together.
Gary wanted to tell them when they were both established in their careers but did it earlier for Ash - at about 18yrs old.
They started dating…oh gosh…I’ll just say end of Sinnoh after the league. I headcanon Sinnoh they’re both 15.
Ash was so out of sorts for his first boyfriend that he was out of it the entire Unova arc.
Gary didn’t visit home during that time since he was afraid someone would hazard a guess. Sometimes people can just tell.
Unfortunately, that got both their guardians concerned and they had to fib. But they laughed to each other about it and that’s when they had serious talks and not just standard ones.
Ash would go to the end of the region in a corner city to get a specific item for Gary that he thought he would like. Gary would have it specially made and tailored to perfection before he gives his to Ash.
When they’re older, they’d live together. But the house would usually be empty since they both travel for their careers.
They’d travel together. (I swear to god anipoke that was perfect why-)
They’d adopt three kids. Twin boy toddlers and a baby girl three years younger. (Possibly adopt another little girl to make it even. She would be several years younger than the first girl.) Boys will have brown hair and brown eyes and the first girl have black hair and green eyes. The second girl will have red hair and blue eyes.
Pikachu and Umbreon have babies. I don’t know how many.
They still bicker and tease each other although now it’s all in good fun. They’re still rivals at heart.
Idk if I should do NSFW or not…maybe a separate post.
I know I have more this is just all I can think of at the moment.
I don’t know much about hair. x_x But I’ll give you headcanons:
Used to wash it every day
Freaked out when someone told him you’re not supposed to wash it every day
Took a long time to get used to not doing it
But when he does he goes all out
Shampoo, conditioner, styles it juuuust right, hair spray, mousse, depends on the day
He likes how it can look spiky but still feel soft
Thanks for the ask! :) @hissingaspinthegrass

The guys in my brain are alllll pokemon (except for Ethoslab, who lives here year-round and rent-free), so we're gonna talk about Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver >:)
First off all, I love these games. Love em to pieces. I've had HeartGold since I was like 7, although I kept taking long breaks, forgot the story, and had to start the game over several times >:'D I finally stuck with a save file I started last year, and made it through the whole thing in about 80 hours. I do play a little slower than most, but we'll talk more about the reason for the stupid amount of time it took me now.
First of all, it's very important to understand that I play on a console, not an emulator. No hacks for me. Second of all, grinding in HG/SS is SHIT. It's so bad. It takes SO LONG to level your mons, especially in the postgame. The highest level wild pokemon you can find are ~lvl 50, and they are found only on Mt. Silver. For context: Red's team, who are supposed to be your final-final big battle of the game and located on top of Mt. Silver, are upwards of lvl 80.
This game's actual content, on the other hand, is my second favorite only to the original Unova storyline. These games have a relatively basic storyline, but a LOT of postgame content. You get two whole regions, a callback to the previous protagonists, and quick references to the Hoenn and Sinnoh games, which came out between the original Gold/Silver/Crystal and the HG/SS games. I also adore this game's rival, Silver. (Different from the mountain.) He's mean at first, but only because he's hurting, and he gets a very nice bettering-himself arc (adoptive after figure included)! Said father figure is Lance, the champion of the Indigo League, who I also adore. Back then, dragon types only had one weakness—ice types—and there were only a select few you could get. Unfortunately for him, I caught a Lapras pretty early on and swept his team with her, twice, but still. Dragon types are my favorites, next to dark, ghost, and grass types. (I'm very indecisive.
One last fun fact about me: I love the Chikorita line. The Chikorita line is objectively the worst Johto starter. I kick ass with my Meganium anyways <3

Pokémon Anime Retrospective
Since today is the day that Ash is leaving the anime, I thought it would be fitting to look back on the all the series that I watched with Ash and reminisce.
So, let's go!!
Tumblr media
Pokémon: Indigo League
Tumblr media
I've watched a few episodes here and there, especially the first two. I downloaded the first and second episodes as a kid back in 2012 from some random website and used to watch them a lot.
The first episode is my favourite because it has a banger English opening (I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was-) and it always makes me laugh.
One of my favourite quotes actually come from the first episode! Professor Oak says "The early bird gets the worm, or in this case, the Pokémon." I used it to describe one of my old primary school teachers, he was always late for parking so he could never get a proper parking space. He would instead park on the dirt and I would always say "The early bird gets the worm, or in this case, the parking spot."
That was in 2016 wow.....I'm old lol
I think it was my first introduction to the existence of the anime, so good going young me!
I uh never watched the season in Johto I'm sorry-
Tumblr media
Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire
Tumblr media
I had a disc of one of Pokémon Advance volumes that I used to watch a lot so I'm fond of this anime. I've watched a few episodes here and there. I remember Ash and May both yelling at each other for some reason lol
My favourite Pokémon movie comes from this generation! Pokémon Ranger and The Temple of The Sea.
Tumblr media
I remember watching it on television as a kid one day since it was on and I had nothing better to do. And I really loved it, the story and the relationship between May and Manaphy....so good. It made me like Pokémon even more, every time it was on television I would sit down and watch as much as I could (because every single time I got interrupted for some reason and I was always so disappointed lol).
The English openings are so good! My favourite is Unbeatable!
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl
Tumblr media
I remember watching episodes on my television as a kid, although I never was really into it until way later like in 2021 while I was playing Pokémon Platinum on my DS. All the Pokémon artists I followed always drew Dawn and showed the anime and I was like "yes I like this now too" haha
Sinnoh is high on my regions list.
I really like Dawn, she's just so cool. I also learnt that Dawn is called Hikari in Japan and now I use both names for her lol
I've watched a range of episodes here and there! The English openings for DP are fire, I like to listen to them from time to time. My favourite is We Will Be Heroes, I love singing it.
My favourite Japanese opening is Together, so good.
Didn’t watch Black and White either…..
sorry lol
Pokemon XY and XYZ
Tumblr media
My favourite Pokémon anime! I watched this one the most, it was always on television so I used to sit with my brother and watch it. I think I have the most memories and nostalgia here.
I think Amourshipping was one of my first ships for Pokémon, I freaking love Serena and Ash. I think my favourite scene with them was the Snowbelle arc or the ending. I even used to write stories about them aha
Ash-Greninja was the bomb.
I love all the English openings to this anime, they're all so good! My favourite one is Be A Hero, since that was the one which played the most for me lol
My friend likes Stand Tall, which is really good too! And my favourite Japanese Opening is Iku Z, so catchy.
Pokémon Sun and Moon
Tumblr media
I didn't actually like the anime at first for some reason lol
Maybe it was the art style change but I didn't really watch it until I saw a few clips and episodes and suddenly I liked it. It's really goofy yet the story gets more serious at times and it's a fun season!
I love Lillie, her growth was so awesome. And I love her Alolan Vulpix, Snowy! Man I really love Alola.
I was following the end of the series since everyone was talking about it and I remember the moment Ash became the champion of Alola, it was amazing.
I think this series was the first time I finally learnt that Ash was called Satoshi in Japan and now I use both names lol
Pokémon Journeys
Tumblr media
This was the first Pokémon anime I followed from the very beginning, I think I watched a good twenty or so episodes before I stopped and fell behind and never tried to catch up again lol
But I did keep up with what happened in each episode and watched the episodes I really wanted to watch (like Serena's episode or the ones with Lillie's family).
Speaking of Serena's episode, I remember the leaks. That was a time to be on Anipoke Twitter. It was just a poster but people were freaking out, including me. And Serena really did come back!
I did like Journeys at the end, especially the Japanese opening 1.2.3! It's so good! I can sing it all lol
Seeing Ash win and become the world champion....was amazing. Everyone was freaking out and I was too! I watched the episode and I was so proud of him. He did it!
Tumblr media
The end of a era....
Tumblr media
I can't believe that Ash is going, he was a part of my childhood and he really made me smile. I also can't believe the future generation won't watch Ash (or even know who he is, if I ever have kids I'm making them watch Ash lol).
Thank you for all the fun memories Ash! Satoshi! I will always remember you!
(I think I'll cry if I watch the final episode, I don't want to say goodbye just yet.)

Reminder that this Buizel was a total champion as he defeated dozens of Pokémon Trainers even those who use Pokémon whom he had a type disadvantage against before he was caught. Tied against a Lucario who defeated Ash's Staravia and even Chimchar. Took down his own evolved form Floatzel with just a few successful hits. K-O'D a Mr. Mime with a newly learned Ice Punch, and owned the battlefield with that Ice Aqua Jet Combo.

🥘 and 🍎
SEND ‘🥘’, THEY HAVE TO TALK ABOUT A GROUP OF PEOPLE THEY WANT TO BE AROUND WITH OR ASPIRE TO BE WITH. IF THE EMOJI CANNOT BE SEEN, SEND ‘Hotpot’.
Mm... Well I'm part of it by technicality thanks to helpin' with some a' their efforts to bring back Hisuian Pokémon, but back 'n Sinnoh there's the Hisuian Preservation Society, or HPS. They're a group established... Shit, decades ago far as I know, that tries to find as much on the Hisuian Era as possible. An' one a' their biggest goals is to ensure the Hisuian breeds of Pokémon continue to live on, if not bring them back from the brink of extinction. Sounds ambitious I know, but so far they've managed to keep Hisuian Growlithe from goin' completely extinct, an' even managed to help with preservin' the Qwilfish from Hisui. Doubt we'd have been able to start with replicatin' Black Augurite if they didn't help out. An' then Blueberry wouldn't have the buddin' Kleavor population it does now. So there's that.
SEND ‘🍎’, THEY HAVE TO TALK ABOUT SOMEONE THEY LOVE/CARE ABOUT/IN LOVE WITH. IF THE EMOJI CANNOT BE SEEN, SEND ‘Apple’

FUCKIN' ARC ALL RIGHT
Course I'm bombarded with this after Valentine's Day, what a frickin' shock--
But yeah. Drayden. Y'all know him, so what's there fer me to add? I met him back when he'd only been Gym Leader ferra few years, maybe five at most, an' outta everyone else 'n the League he was... Probably the only one besides Sutter that didn't look on me any different. We talked regularly since then an' became--well wouldn't have called it 'friends' right at the beginnin', but he's what I had as a friend before I met Joe.
An' well... our friendship was parta why I was so... unsure bout pursuin' a relationship with him. I was worried that it'd ruin things, but turns out it didn't. An' yeah, lot of it's been touch-an'-go, but it bein' slow an' talked about... I think it works better 'n jus' divin' right into a relationship like w- Well, like how they stereotype lots of relationships, what is it, "love at first sight" an' such.

I was hoping they wouldn't just have Ash become World Monarch and NOT have him think about what's that going to mean from here. And surely they wouldn't have Gary leave before making a comment about that, just like he did for the Orange League and BF. (I almost lost hope they weren't going to do either. But the fact that we're finally getting both and they're intertwined? If they somehow have the two battle or travel together [like in the manga] to end things off, I'm set for life right there xD
Hi there anon! The anime certainly has their work cut out for them in wrapping up Ash's 25 year story in eleven episodes. I'm glad to see that Gary is being included in this finale as he certainly deserves it. After all, he's been one of the biggest motivators for Ash throughout his journey. It's only right that in the final arcs Gary continues to push Ash. Ash and Gary have always been intertwined even in series that weren't as focused on continuity with previous regions, but it's nice to see that onscreen again after so many generations without it. I'm pretty confident they'll at least include a battle between them since that always seems to be a recurring theme whenever Ash takes such an important step. Now traveling together...kind of debatable. This is partly because at least for this upcoming mini-series it's been confirmed Misty and Brock will be traveling with him. Sure they could add Gary but the writers have struggled traditionally with handling a 4 person cast in longer series and with so much that could be covered it may be too much. Now after the fact...when Ash decides "what comes next"? Definitely possible but I'm a little hesitant about that. We see in the games with Red and Blue running the battle tree or Gary and Ash traveling together in Electric Tale of Pikachu manga (also in Pokemon Zensho) but the main thing they all share is that both boys are still fully committed to being Pokemon trainers. Sure Gary and Ash in the traveling in the anime with Gary still committed to research could work but I feel like without Gary having a professor to research under (like he did with Rowan back in Sinnoh or Ash and Goh did with Cerise) it'd be hard to try to work out those logistics with all of Ash's story wrapping up. Although, I do get the suspicion that we might be seeing some conclusions for Ash's companions and rivals in this too so who knows maybe they could set it up. Also in so many ways Ash and Gary's relationship varies so differently from their game and various manga counterparts that I feel like their not ever traveling together is part of those differences. Not to say that I wouldn't love for them to travel together (I honestly would) it's just I have my reservations about it panning out. But I'd love to be wrong and see them traveling together even if for a bit. A very unlikely scenario (but one I'd personally like to see) is Ash and Gary going to Alola to parallel their game counterparts as kind of a distant future thing. Ash is already champion there and he's been offered to become a battle facility head in the past so why not open up the battle tree? There's a lot to research in Alola between Z-moves, Alolan forms, ultra beasts, etc so there's plenty to do for Gary as a researcher if that's the final path for him. Or he could decide he wants to try battling again and co-lead the Battle Tree with Ash.

Do you remember what made you start shipping shigesato?
// storytime !
i do ! it was around the time xy started airing on tv i remember seeing an ad about it and i found serena pretty cute + xy seemed fun so i decided to get back into pkmn. it had been years since i last watched it, with that i decided to start rewatching pkmn as a whole, so i started off from the very start of course !
gary has always been my most favorite character ever, ever since i first watched pkmn as a little kid and i always found him/his relationship with ash super funny so when rewatching it i really loved the nostalgia.
at the time i was a satokasu shipper (pokeshipper) so i didn’t ship shigesato until i got to the johto arc of the series during my rewatch ! and it really just grew on me and a lot as you can see haha. i really loved the classic child like jealousy from ash, and gary being his biggest menace. i remember watching it and thinking it was so cute how they treated one another since day one.
with moving up to johto i started to really love how gary had his own realization on how much he truly admired ash and how he himself just looked up to him a lot. i love how as childish as he was he didn’t ever want to actually admit how much he really cares and it’s even fair to even say how much he loves ash.
and in vise versa, i really found it cute how ash followed gary all the way up to sinnoh, and just always had a kind of comfort towards gary and how he seemed to feel like he HAD to be by gary’s side no matter what direction their journey lead them to.
generally i love how they not only strive to be like one another but have a piece of themselves and their rivalry in themselves as well as wanting to accomplish their dream for each other to make each other proud.
also how ash changed gary and how gary changed ash, maturing one another and supporting each other endlessly. from ash wanting to win to the johto league for the two of them to gary writing ash postcards about how much he believes in him.
and not to forget how delia and professor oak realized it THEMSELVES saying that both gary and ash will not admit how much they mean to each other yet it’s so obvious how much they care for one another + the fact that gary would tease ash to push him to do better than him.
this is getting very long so i’ll wrap up my general answer haha :
i started shipping shigesato because i love how they are not only just each other’s best friend but a true lifetime partner/soulmate to one another. they may never become cannon and i know that but it doesn’t make me think otherwise that they are truly made for one another, and no one will uphold a deeper role, love in their journey/ life than them. it sounds cheesy but, they really showed me what a true love really is. 🤍
