Come Visit Us Sometime!
Tumblr media
We're a free museum dedicated to the history of skiing and snowboarding in the Evergreen State.
Located on Snoqualmie Pass, we're fifty minutes from the heart of Seattle on I-90 (right across from the DOT rest area!) and a nice stopping point for cross-state travelers.
You can find us open noon-5 Fri-Sun.

Bloodweave is neat, but it's based on traits that don't define either character.
Their names both contain references to nature. Astarion's is a LOT more of a stretch--the little star definition comes from Latin, not elvish, and Star is a cutesy nickname--but Gale is. Well. A gale.
There aren't too many nicknames I can think of for Gale, honestly. Bluster? Windy? Storm?
Kind of rude, honestly. But.
What if we called them stormy skies.

so imagine being conscious since the creation of the world , watching life create and destroy itself in a ceaseless cycle eon after eon , extinction after extinction , leaving nothing that you've known behind and with no one but you left to bear the memory of what once was . and you can't ever focus on the present because before you know it , it's the past too . and you're always left behind . and no amount of stillness or sleep can grant you that release of burden . it never stops .
and what's worse is that you have what can only be recognized as the equivalent of a human desire . you want and want but you don't know what or even WHY you do . you don't know why you exist and there's no one that can relate to you . and the little creature that possibly could and served as a clean slate for you to project your nonexistent innocence on betrays you . so now you have a eons of resentment against every living thing and even time itself and cling tight to the ice around you to numb the agony of your miserable existence--

.... anyway not me thinking about that " i am full of tears and hunger and the fear of death , although i cannot weep , and i want nothing , and i cannot die " and applying it to this b*tch

Andromeda in Southern Skies: Looking north from southern New Zealand, the Andromeda Galaxy never gets more than about five degrees above the horizon. As spring comes to the southern hemisphere, in late September Andromeda is highest in the sky around midnight though. In a single 30 second exposure this telephoto image tracked the stars to capture the closest large spiral galaxy from Mount John Observatory as it climbed just over the rugged peaks of the south island's Southern Alps. In the foreground, stars are reflected in the still waters of Lake Alexandrina. Also known as M31, the Andromeda Galaxy is one of the brightest objects in the Messier catalog, usually visible to the unaided eye as a small, faint, fuzzy patch. But this clear, dark sky and long exposure reveal the galaxy's greater extent in planet Earth's night, spanning nearly 6 full moons.
[Scott Horton]

"Forget about enlightenment. Sit down wherever you are and listen to the wind that is singing in your veins. Feel the love, the longing, and the fear in your bones. Open your heart to who you are, right now, not who you would like to be. Not the saint you’re striving to become. But the being right here before you, inside you, around you. All of you is holy. You’re already more and less than whatever you can know. Breathe out, look in, let go."
~ John Welwood [Ian Sanders]

What To Wear for Your Time Travel Ski Vacation
Don't you just hate it when you have everything set to travel back to 1966 for some old fashioned skiing, including those hard to come by TARDIS reservations, but can't remember what people were wearing back then? Well, check out this video made a few years ago by our friends at the Colorado Snowsports Museum!
(Yes, yes, your TARDIS should be able to hook you up with something appropriate, but you should always double check.)

“Riley it’s not that bad!” Judith laughed as she pulled her sister along the hall of the art gallery that she had dragged her sister to. “Besides I told you that once we see the new exhibit I’d take you to do anything you want to do.” She paused in front of one of her favourite paintings (admittedly this was the third time she’d been to the new exhibit). “I’ll also buy you whatever you want from the gift shop.” She countered, turning her focus to the painting in front of them.

“But doesn’t this make you want to travel? I mean c’mon Riley it’s Paris!” She bounced on her toes, her smile widening.

[image id: a four-page comic. it is titled "immortality” after the poem by clare harner (more popularly known as “do not stand at my grave and weep”). the first page shows paleontologists digging up fossils at a dig. it reads, “do not stand at my grave and weep. i am not there. i do not sleep.” page two features several prehistoric creatures living in the wild. not featured but notable, each have modern descendants: horses, cetaceans, horsetail plants, and crocodilians. it reads, “i am a thousand winds that blow. i am the diamond glints on snow. i am the sunlight on ripened grain. i am the gentle autumn rain.” the third page shows archaeopteryx in the treetops and the skies, then a modern museum-goer reading the placard on a fossil display. it reads, “when you awaken in the morning’s hush, i am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight. i am the soft stars that shine at night. do not stand at my grave and cry.” the fourth page shows a chicken in a field. it reads, “i am not there. i did not die” / end id]
a comic i made in about 15 hours for my school’s comic anthology. the theme was “evolution”
