Okay Linked Universe Fandom, we have to talk. I am extremely disappointed in all of us that out of all the myriad possible duos of the Chain, only one has an official name (Downfall Duo). This has got to change. We need more duo names stat. So, this is my proposed list! Hopefully at least some of them catch on. 👀 Many thanks to @kuraiarcoiris for assisting me with some of the uncooperative duos on the list. >.> Looking at you, Warriors and Wind.
Without further ado!
Sky
Sky+Four: Horizon Duo (because they are the first two Links chronologically in the timeline, charting new horizons for the young kingdom of Hyrule, and because I view the two as representing the sky and the world [e.g. Four’s element motif]. And where do the sky and world meet? The horizon.)
Sky+Time: Wife Duo (because they both canonically love their wives and miss them. Sky isn’t married to Sun yet, but he will be, so it counts. >:V)
Sky+Legend: Harp Duo (because they both canonically play magic harps and enjoy music)
Sky+Hyrule: Thunder Duo (because of their abilities to channel lightning and the fact that Hyrlule’s spell is called Thunder. Also two of the quietist Links having a duo named after a loud sound is amusing)
Sky+Twilight: Firmament Duo (because “firmament” is another word for the physical sky, and also sounds like “firm,” and both characters are good grounding forces for the other Links.)
Sky+Warriors: Knight Duo (because they actually remember their training as knights and can apply that training. Plus, both are knights in shining armor for their Zeldas.)
Sky+Wind: Breeze Duo (because flying and sailing both use air currents, and breezes are heartening and encouraging, just like these two.)
Sky+Wild: Aeon Duo (because “aeon” means "a long or seemingly long period of time" and these two are the Links that had to wait the longest amount of time to complete their quests.)
-
Four
Four+Sky: Horizon Duo
Four+Time: Shade Duo (because they are possibly the only two Links that lingered after their deaths, Time with the Hero’s Shade in Twilight Princess and Four with the four Shadow Links that appear in the Palace of the Four Sword in A Link to the Past [though one could theorize that those are Dark Links unrelated to Four entirely, so this duo name could also refer to Shadow from the Four Swords manga])
Four+Legend: Forging Duo (because not only do they have blacksmithing skills, but both forge the way for the heroes who come after them to the best of their abilities.)
Four+Hyrule: Mousetrap Duo (because they can both shrink to the size of mice, Four with his Minish form and Hyrule with his Fairy spell)
Four+Twilight: Prism Duo (because light is very important to both of their games [Twilight’s light spirits and Four’s Light Force], but also their mechanics allow them to “split” and show another side of them like light through a prism, i.e. Four's ability to divide into four and Twilght’s crystal that lets him become a wolf)
Four+Warriors: Teamwork Duo (because their games center on teamwork more than any of the others')
Four+Wind: Shield Duo (because of their identical shields that signifies a possible blood connection between them)
Four+Wild: Shattered Duo (because they both break or "shatter" things in order to fight. Four breaks himself through his splitting mechanic, and Wild breaks his weapons. You could also interpret this as Wild's memories being broken, too.)
-
Time
Time+Sky: Wife Duo
Time+Four: Shade Duo
Time+Legend: Melodic Duo (because their games focus so much on music)
Time+Hyrule: Fairy Duo (because of their connection to fairies)
Time+Twilight: Legacy Duo (self-explanatory)
Time+Warriors: Command Duo (because leader and his unofficial second in command)
Time+Wind: Menace Duo (because these two absolutely will be menaces together once Time relaxes a bit.)
Time+Wild: Moon Duo (because of the focus on the moon in their games. “I Hate the Moon” Duo doesn’t have the same ring to it :p)
-
Legend
Legend+Sky: Harp Duo
Legend+Four: Forging Duo
Legend+Time: Melodic Duo
Legend+Hyrule: Downfall Duo (basically codified fanon at this point)
Legend+Twilight: Critter Duo (because they are currently the only two Links with animal forms)
Legend+Warriors: Worsties Duo (or just "the Worsties." Self-explanatory :3c)
Legend+Wind:Seagull Duo (because Aryll loves seagulls and Marin loved seagulls.)
Legend+Wild: Stockpile Duo (Because they’re obsessive about being prepared, so they stockpile things more than anyone else in the whole Chain.)
-
Hyrule
Hyrule+Sky: Thunder Duo
Hyrule+Four: Mousetrap Duo
Hyrule+Time: Fairy Duo
Hyrule+Legend: Downfall Duo
Hyrule+Twilight: Rustic Duo (because they both come from very humble origins. Most of the Links come from pretty humble origins, but I get the feeling those two are Country Boys if you know what I mean. ;))
Hyrule+Warriors:Firestorm Duo (because of Warriors' penchant for using fire in battle and Hyrule's thunder spell)
Hyrule+Wind: Salvage Duo (because both have had to salvage their kingdoms from their destroyed states and salvage important items from where they were scattered around their worlds)
Hyrule+Wild:Wander Duo (because they both are the most adventurous Links and tend to go off the beaten path more than any of the others)
-
Twilight
Twilight+Sky: Firmament Duo
Twilight+Four: Prism Duo
Twilight+Time: Legacy Duo
Twilight+Legend: Critter Duo
Twilight+Hyrule: Rustic Duo
Twilight+Warriors: Big Brother Duo (because they are the big brothers of the Chain)
Twilight+Wind: Successor Duo (because they are Time’s direct successors that are actually acknowledged as such in their games and in the comic)
Twilight+Wild: Protégé Duo (because Twilight is Time's protege and Wild is Twilight's)
-
Warriors
Warriors+Sky: Knight Duo
Warriors+Four: Teamwork Duo
Warriors+Time: Command Duo
Warriors+Legend: Worsties Duo
Warriors+Hyrule: Firestorm Duo
Warriors+Twilight: Big Brother Duo
Warriors+Wind: Scarf Duo (because there have been a few panels where Wind steals or hides under Warriors’ scarf)
Warriors+Wild: Arson Duo (because of that one sketch where the two are riding on a log burning everything down around them, and they clearly enjoy setting things on fire)
-
Wind
Wind+Sky: Breeze Duo
Wind+Four:Shield Duo
Wind+Time: Menace Duo
Wind+Legend:Seagull Duo
Wind+Hyrule: Salvage Duo
Wind+Twilight: Successor Duo
Wind+Warriors: Scarf Duo
Wind+Wild: Walkie Talkie Duo (because Wind's joy pendant allows him to talk to Wild through his Shiekah slate)
-
Wild
Wild+Sky: Aeon duo
Wild+Four:Shattered Duo
Wild+Time: Moon Duo
Wild+Legend: Stockpile Duo
Wild+Hyrule:Wander Duo
Wild+Twilight: Protégé Duo
Wild+Warriors: Arson Duo
Wild+Wind:Walkie Talkie Duo
-
A few trios for good measure!
Wind + Wars + Time = Eras Trio
Wars + Sky + Wild = Chivalry Trio (or Knight Trio)
Wind + Wild + Hyrule = Apocalypse Trio
Hyrule + Legend + Wild = Triple Threat
Warriors + Twilight + Sky = Big Bro Trio
Four + Hyrule + Legend = Tiny Trio
Sky + Four + Time = Pre-split Trio
#linked universe#lu chain#lu legend#lu time#lu sky#lu four#lu hyrule#lu twilight#lu warriors#lu wind#lu wild#downfall duo#xi writes#seriously we have to be better about this fandom use duo names more i am Begging#also if anyone has any other suggestions for Wars+Wind I'm open to them#but they literally have nothing else in common between their games or their personalities other than the scarf TT TT#we've tried everything

Hello, would you like a Proseka OC Template?
So I made this while trying to figure out basics for when making an original character, from name to personality. So now I'm sharing this for when you make your own OC.
Heads up, it is not a drawing template. It is for writing. It's more like a refrence sheet, but I hope it helps.
Ask any questions if you want, use it freely, delete the ones you don't need. No need for credit, have fun <3

A quick analysis of why Ezra and Thrawn are each other’s perfect nemesis (especially for those who aren’t as familiar with Rebels):
The reason that Thrawn is so dangerous is, of course, not just because of his analytical mind or brilliant battle tactics, but because he takes the time to know his enemy. He understands what all art historians or anyone in the liberal arts can tell you: that art is one of the clearest windows into a society, and studying a society’s art can tell you just as much, if not more than a history book can. Thrawn always takes the time to throughly understand his enemy before he fights them, and that includes the Jedi Ezra Bridger.
The problem is, however, that Ezra is not a typical Jedi. It stands to reason that what Thrawn knows about the Jedi comes from the Jedi Generals in the Clone Wars, who abided by very standard military tactics—and to a point, having fought in the Clone Wars, Kanan Jarrus, Ezra’s master, often used those tactics, and passed some of them on to Ezra. However, since he primarily fought in a small rebel cell, Ezra was primarily a guerrilla fighter. Even when they went on to join the larger Rebellion, Kanan and Ezra often avoided their larger full-scale battles in favor of smaller ops that catered to their talents, only joining large battles when it was absolutely necessary to turn the tables. And though he was a commander, it was actually fairly rare that he led troops into battle like the Jedi generals in the Clone Wars.
Additionally, while early on in his arc he shares some similarities with Anakin and Luke (especially in his struggle to figure out how to protects those he loves without falling to the Dark Side), it becomes apparent by the end of Rebels that he is on the path to becoming a Jedi like Qui-Gon Jinn or Yoda—that is, a Jedi very in-tune with the Living Force. Though he possesses many of the more physical talents we associate with the Jedi—heightened senses, strengthened physical abilities, skill with a lightsaber, etc—his talents have always tended towards the more cerebral (e.g., he was receiving extremely vivid visions of the future while struggling just to levitate an object). One really interesting thing about Rebels is that it often chooses to represent the presence of the Force with a high-pitched whistling sound, one that Ezra quite often seems to hear and let guide his decisions. He is also very prone to receiving extremely vivid Force visions. But the ability he is most known for, especially in Ahsoka, is his ability to connect to living beings. If you were wondering why such a deal is made over the Loth-Cat in episode one, it’s because Loth-Cats have become somewhat of a motif for Ezra, just like the purrgil—they seem to be always around him in Rebels, and serve as a sort of barometer to the audience as to how strong Ezra’s Force abilities are. In season one, they would just pop out and hiss at him every once in awhile, but by season four, they’re all over him—if he stood out in a field and held still for too long he’d just be buried in cats. The same goes for other creatures—he befriends the purrgil early on in the show, and is able to enlist their help in the finale. He’s also so in-tune with the Living Force on his home planet of Lothal that he is approached by Loth-Wolves, mysterious, spiritual beings who weren’t thought to exist outside the realm of myth, and shown a way to use a hyperspace corridor to travel to the other side of the planet.
However, this ability doesn’t just extend to animals—it extends to people, too. It’s like someone poured everything into his charisma stat. He makes friends everywhere he goes, so easily it’s like breathing, and people naturally gravitate towards him and want to help him. (It’s probably why he has made such good friends with those adorable rock people—he just can’t help being forcibly adopted wherever he goes.) The reason he is able to beat Thrawn in the end of Rebels is that he calls in every single favor from all the people he recruited to his side throughout the past four seasons, and when you see everyone on screen—former Imperial cadets, smugglers, deposed military leaders, space wolves, space whales, Clones, etc—it’s then that you realize just what an inspiring leader he is. If Ezra can get Hondo Onaka of all people to join Rebellion, you know he’s got something special.
Not to mention, since Ezra has spoken to and been indirectly trained by a Force being (the Bendu) and was the first on-screen Jedi to discover the World Between Worlds, it’s quite possible that he understands the Living Force better, or at least in a very different way, than most Jedi within the Order did.
To sum it all up, Ezra is just so different, so unconventional, both as a military leader and as a Jedi, that Thrawn, for all his military prowess, doesn’t know what to do with him. He is absolutely unpredictable, because he always abides by the will of the Force, something Thrawn is completely unable to get access to or understand. I always think of them when I see this meme:

because it’s almost quite literally what happens in the Rebels finale. Thrawn has pulled off a seemingly infallible maneuver, the Rebels are completely pinned-down, their resources are maxed-out, and he knows they will not risk the deaths of civilians. Ezra gives himself up, and he thinks he’s won. But then what does Ezra do? He summons a flock of purrgil who drag him, along with his entire Star Destroyer, into hyperspace and jump to another galaxy. How on earth could Thrawn have even predicted that? And even if he had known Ezra’s plan, what could he have even done?
That’s why Thrawn is so eager to kill Ezra in Ahsoka. Something tells me that he’s been hunting him in these ten years we haven’t seen them—because he knows that this one man is far more dangerous than anything waiting for him in the galaxy he is preparing to invade.

What's OSR? I've seen you mention it several times in your RPG posts. Is it like a genre of rpg or...?
Hey, sorry I took so long to reply to this lol you probably already just googled it by now.
But like. Anyway.
OSR (Old-School Revival, Old-School Renaissance, and more uncommonly Old-School Rules or Old-School Revolution, no one can really agree on what the R means) is less like a genre and more like a movement or a loosely connected community that seeks to capture the tone, feel and/or playstyle of 70's and 80's fantasy roleplaying games (with a particular emphasis on old-school editions of Dungeons and Dragons, particularly the Basic D&D line but pretty much anything before 3e falls under this umbrella), or at least an idealized version of what people remember those games felt like to play.
There isn't exactly a consensus on what makes a game OSR but here's my personal list of things that I find to be common motifs in OSR game design and GM philosophy. Not every game in the movement features all of these things, but must certainly feature a few of them.
Rulings over rules: most OSR games lack mechanically codified rules for a lot of the actions that in modern D&D (and games influenced by it) would be covered by a skill system. Rather that try to have rules applicable for every situation, these games often have somewhat barebones rules, with the expectation that when a player tries to do something not covered by them the GM will have to make a ruling about it or negotiate a dice roll that feels fair (a common resolution system for this type of situation is d20 roll-under vs a stat that feels relevant, a d6 roll with x-in-6 chance to succeed, or just adjudicating the outcome based on how the player describes their actions)
"The solution is not on your character sheet": Related to the point above, the lack of character skills means that very few problems can be solved by saying "I roll [skill]". E.g. Looking for traps in an OSR game will look less like "I rolled 18 on my perception check" and more like "I poke the flagstones ahead with a stick to check if they're pressure plates" with maybe the GM asking for a roll or a saving throw if you do end up triggering a trap.
High lethality: Characters are squishy, and generally die much more easily. But conversely, character creation is often very quick, so if your character dies you can usually be playing again in minutes as long as there's a decent chance to integrate your new PC into the game.
Lack of emphasis on encounter balance: It's not uncommon for the PCs to find themselves way out of their depth, with encounters where they're almost guaranteed to lose unless they run away or find a creative way to stack the deck in their favor.
Combat as a failure state: Due to the two points above, not every encounter is meant to be fought, as doing so is generally not worth the risk and likely to end up badly. Players a generally better off finding ways to circumvent encounters through sneaking around them, outsmarting them, or out-maneauvering them, fighting only when there's no other option or when they've taken steps to make sure the battle is fought on their terms (e.g. luring enemies into traps or environmental hazards, stuff like that)
Emphasis on inventory and items: As skills, class features and character builds are less significant than in modern D&D (or sometimes outright nonexistent), a large part of the way the players engage with the world instead revolves around what they carry and how they use it. A lot of these games have you randomly roll your starting inventory, and often this will become as much a significant part of your character as your class is, even with seemingly useless clutter items. E.g. a hand mirror can become an invaluable tool for peeping around corners and doorways. This kind of gameplay techncially possible on modern D&D but in OSR games it's often vital.
Gold for XP: somewhat related to the above, in many of these games your XP will be determined by how much treasure you gather, casting players in the role and mindset of trasure hutners, grave robbers, etc.
Situations, not plots: This is more of a GM culture thing than an intrinsic feature of the games, but OSR campaigns will often eschew the long-form GM-authored Epic narrative that has become the norm since the late AD&D 2e era, in favor of a more sandbox-y "here's an initial situation, it's up to you what you do with it" style. This means that you probably won't be getting elaborate scenes plotted out sessions in advance to tie into your backstory and character arc, but it also means increased player agency, casting the GM in the role of less of a plot writer or narrator and more of a referee.
Like I said, these are not universal, and a lot of games that fall under the OSR umbrella will eschew some or most of these (it's very common for a lot of games to drop the gold-for-xp thing in favor of a different reawrd structure), but IMO they're a good baseline for understanding common features of the movement as a whole.
Of course, the OSR movement covers A LOT of different games, which I'd classify in the following categories by how much they deviate from their source of inspiration:
Retroclones are basically recreations of the ruleset of older D&D editions but without the D&D trademark, sometimes with a new coat of paint. E.g. OSRIC and For Gold and Glory are clones of AD&D (1e and 2e respectively); Whitebox and Fantastic Medieval Campaigns are recreations of the original 1974 white box D&D release; Old School Essentials, Basic Fantasy and Labyrinth Lord are clones of the 1981 B/X D&D set. Some of these recreate the original rules as-is, editing the text or reorganizing the information to be clearer but otherwise leaving the meachnics unchanged, while others will make slight rules changes to remove quirks that have come to be considered annoying in hindsight, some of them might mix and match features from different editions, but otherwise they're mostly straight up recreations of old-school D&D releases.
There are games that I would call "old-school compatible", that feature significant enough mechanical changes from old-school D&D to be considered a different game, but try to maintain mechanical compatibility with materials made for it. Games like The Black Hack, Knave, Macchiato Monsters, Dungeon Reavers, Whitehack, etc. play very differently from old-school D&D, and from each other, but you generally can grab any module made for any pre-3e D&D edition and run it with any of them with very little to no effort needed in conversion.
There's a third category that I wouldn't know how to call. Some people call then Nu-OSR or NSR (short for New School revolution) while a small minority of people argue that they aren't really part of the OSR movement but instead their own thing. I've personally taken to calling them "Old School Baroque". These are games that try to replicate different aspects of the tone and feel of old-school fantasy roleplaying games while borrowing few to none mechanics from them and not making any particular attempts to be mechanically compatible. Games like Into the Odd, Mörk Borg, Troika!, a dungeon game, FLEE, DURF, Songbirds, Mausritter, bastards, Cairn, Sledgehammer, and too many more to name. In my opinion this subsection of the OSR space is where it gets interesting, as there's so many different ways people try to recreate that old-school flavor with different mechanics.
(Of course, not everything fits neatly into these, e.g. I would consider stuff like Dungeon Crawl Classics to be somewhere inbetween category 1 and 2, and stuff like GloG or RELIC to be somewhere imbetween categories 2 and 3)
The OSR movement does have its ugly side, as it's to be expected by the fact that a huge part of the driving force behind it is nostalgia. Some people might be in it because it harkens back to a spirit of DIY and player agency that has been lost in traditional fantasy roleplaying games, but it's udneniable that some people are also in it because for them it harkens back to a time before "D&D went woke" when tabletop roleplaying was considered a hobby primarily for and by white men. That being said... generally those types of guys keep to themselves in their own little circlejerk, and it's pretty easy to find OSR spaces that are progressive and have a sinificant number of queer, POC, and marginalized creators.

5 Star Quantum Harmony: Literally Just Trick Room From Pokémon
Once again, I don't really have a concrete character in mind for this. I just realized that having a character be slow is so under utilized at this current moment. It's getting better with Castorice and even Tribbie but it would be really cool to see more depth be put into being slow.
Honestly, I think an analog aesthetic that's slightly akin to Silver Wolf's digital based motifs would be interesting. Maybe even leaning towards vaporwave. I also keep thinking about Tenna from Deltarune soooooo
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This character would want high speed (ironically) to have their ultimate, Rerouting the Motherboard, active as fast as possible. This would also allow the ultimate to last longer if the caster consistently is the last to go.
The activation of Rerouting the Motherboard would reverse the turn order for a total of two turns. This would mean that characters (including enemies) who would otherwise be among the last to act would now be first.
In addition, Rerouting the Motherboard, would also decrease all allies SPD by #% of the character's max SPD when calculating the turn reversal. Their first Bonus Ability, Vulnerable Circuitry, allow all allies to deal True Damage while Rerouting the Motherboard is active.
The character's skill, EM Pulse, would be an AOE attack that scales off of this character's ATK. This would also have a higher toughness reduction stat of #.
Another one of their Bonus Abilities, Calibration, would enable enemies who have been entangled and imprisoned to take more damage while actively debuffed.

👄 🏷️ ♦️ 🔮 💭 🛡️ 📖 📊 🖌️ 🔨 🚗 🎁 ✍ 🙂 🙁 😱 😭 💢 😄 😳 🤲 🗣️ 😬 🎓 👨👩👧👦 🛝 😡 💘 🤝 🫂 for Fýrulf!
👄: How do they talk? What’s their vocabulary like? What does their voice sound like? Any accent, verbal tics, etc?
oooo inch resting.. i haven't really thought abt his voice. he definitely has a noticeable regional accent since his village is SO isolated + so fiercely guarded. he's definitely picked up Common in large part from his adventuring companions (his mother taught him enough to get by, when he decided he was going to be an adventurer), but he keeps a lot of interjections/small phrases from his mother tongue while speaking Common (like using "naja" instead of "well"/"whatever")
i think his voice sounds somewhere between Jesper Gras + Petri Lindroos
🏷️: What is their full name? Do any of their names have any special meaning? How did you come up with them?
technically speaking, his full name is just Fýrulf! nobody in his clan really has "official" last names; what could be considered a last name is usually meant to distinguish between two people between with the same first name.
as such, when he's at home his "last name" would be Vígdíssonr. while he's adventuring it's Lokasonr because nobody outside of the village is gonna know who Vígdís is (his mother's name, Vígdís, means "war goddess")
♦️: Are there any motifs you associate with them? What do those motifs represent thematically?
wolves, forests, hammers, runes – thematically.... mmmmm. he's a viking werewolf lol. there's not necessarily a lot of deep themes for him
🔮: If they were to feature in the art of a tarot card, which one would it be and why?
the Tower! (sudden change, release, downfall, revelation) — the transformative, destructive act of lycanthropic transformation; rebirth through violence; so on and so forth
💭: What was the original concept for your OC? Has it changed at all since then?
i just wanted to make a werewolf barbarian :3c his concept hasn't rlly changed at all
🛡️: How does their class inform their characterization? How does their personality match or clash with the stereotype for that class?
he's a Wolf Totem Barbarian — wolves are sacred to his clan and he's been raised from birth to either defend the clan with his life or venture out into the wider world and bring back glory. he has embraced his violent nature and enjoys any opportunity to feed that bloodlust and show honor to his wolf-kin (children in his clan are raised alongside wolf cubs from the surrounding wolf packs!)
📖: Describe your ideal character arc for them. How do you envision them changing by the end of the story?
I think it really depends on the people around him. if he doesn't have like. someone he CARES about enough chances are he'd never question some of the more questionable aspects of his clan's culture.
he wouldn't ever seek a cure for his lycanthropy, but if he found the right person he might actually be convinced to master his bloodlust.. yet if he does that, and any of his family found out, they'd be obligated to hunt him down and kill him sooooo. it would be a very difficult choice to make, forsaking all he knows to become a gentler person for someone he loves.... Hmmmmmmmmmmm
📊: What is their best stat? What is their worst/dump stat? How do these affect how you roleplay as them?
his best is strength and his worst is intelligence. said it before but his thought process truly does boil down to "bite first ask questions later"
🖌️: What is their go-to hobby? When did they start learning it? Why do they like it?
he likes shaping and painting shields :3 the elders of his clan taught him when he was young because for all he liked to rebel against his elven nature, he was still fascinated with the idea of art as a form of intimidation
🔨: Do they have any practical skills they wouldn’t consider a hobby? What sorts of skills and how/why did they learn them?
weapon maintenance, restringing bows, et cetera. hunting, tracking, clothing maintenance/repair, tanning hides. he learned this so he could survive out in the wider world
🚗: In a modern AU, what kind of job would they have, if any?
historical combat reenactor!
🎁: If they needed to give a friend a gift, how would they go about choosing one? Would they buy it, make it, or do something else?
he would be inclined to scavenge or make it himself. has a tendency to just Deliver things to ppl. feathers, cool rocks, et cetera. if it was a birthday/holiday gift he'd probably craft a weapon or shield, or prepare a hide for someone
✍: What does your character’s handwriting look like? Do they write letters often? What other contexts do they usually write in, if any?
extremely blocky, he does not write if he can avoid it. prefers the runic script of his clan instead of writing in Common < his Common looks like chicken scratch
🙂: What are three of their personality traits that others would generally consider positive?
loyal, protective, humorous
🙁: What are three of their personality traits that others would generally consider negative?
quick to anger, values wolves more than mortals (outside of his pack), judgmental of outsiders
😱: Do they have any irrational fears/phobias? How do they cope with them? Has a phobia ever impacted the game you play them in?
idk that it's necessarily a phobia but he doesn't trust nets. weaving is a mystical act in his clan so it's very common to have spells woven into nets + as a child of Loke who was captured in a net, he's very distrustful of even torn nets
😭: How easily do they cry? Do they ever cry in front of other people? When was the last time they cried?
he doesn't cry easily, and would not allow himself to cry in front of others. the last time he cried was as a boy when he was hunting with his sister and they found a dead wolf
💢: How quick are they to anger? What is a surefire way to piss them off? What do they act like when angry?
VERY quick to anger— touching him or his belongings without permission is a quick way to piss him off lol. he's very snippy with people he Likes; if he doesn't know or like you, he'd be more inclined to break your wrist
😄: How can you tell when they’re really happy? What sorts of things make them happy? How often do they smile?
he gets the wiggles lol, very much like an excited dog. seeing a wolf in the wild on his adventures, knowing a full moon is coming soon, a successful hunt, a good raid— so on and so forth.
(he's as quick to smile as he is to get angry, so he smiles pretty often!)
😳: How easily are they embarrassed/flustered? What sorts of things catch them off-guard and make them lose their cool?
it's hard to actually embarrass/fluster him, and trying is more likely to make him angry lol
🤲: Do they have any deep desires that they don’t talk about and/or don’t even realize they have? Do these desires conflict with their main goal at all?
hmm..... i think ultimately he'd like to find someone who understands him + who he can bring home to the clan + will like. embrace their culture? but that's not sth he'd ever really address bc then he has to grapple with his very detached sense of self + lack of understanding of social mores/etc
🗣️: How social are they? Do they speak to strangers because they like to or only when necessary? How differently do they act with strangers vs. friends?
not SUPER social, more... curious? he won't stay in a conversation if there's no benefit to him, but he will snoop around for potential quest opportunities. he tends to be pretty formal with strangers bc he doesn't actually pursue senseless bloodshed. murdering everyone does not equate to glory/renown for himself and his tribe lmao
😬: Did they ever make a major decision in their past that they regret? How are they handling it now?
regret? not really lol. he's got a very sort of... "what happened has happened and I can't change it, so there's no point dwelling on it" attitude
🎓: What was their education like? Do they have any favorite subjects? What is their preferred learning style?
nooooooooot formal at all! but his oldest brother, Komas, became a (sorta) druid (ie learned from an elder in the village who used to be an adventurer, so he's fairly low level since he's not Adventuring, but can still use his magic to aid the forest/wolves surrounding the village) and his third oldest sibling, Eindriði, is a Cleric of Loke who got called to that path out of the blue (it had originally considered itself a Child of Odin, a sort of wandering scholar and the only non-lycanthropic clan members who are allowed to leave the village)
all this to say Fýrulf picked up a lot of odd booklore from both Komash and Eindriði, and practical skills from the clan elders. he liked learning to make hunting traps :3
👨👩👧👦: What is their family like? Are there any family members that are particularly influential and/or important to them (whether in a positive or negative sense)?
he and all his siblings have the same mother but different fathers! family conceptions in the clan actually have three tiers— blood-kin, moon-kin, and wolf-kin (1st importance: moon-kin, your chosen family; 2nd importance: blood-kin, you share blood, blood-kin can be moon-kin too; 3rd importance: wolf-kin, the wolves you were raised alongside, occasionally wolf-kin may become moon-kin for lycanthropes who can speak with them)
Komash is a half-orc and is Fýrulf's favorite sibling (half-orcs mature very quickly and Fýrulf was the only sibling with enough guts to try and wrestle an adult-sized half-orc, so he and Komash have a special bond— also because their other siblings are fully human and they're not; Fýrulf is a half-elf). Fýrulf also has a strong relationship with his mother; he couldn't care less about his father, though.
Fýrulf's honestly probably calmer/more restrained than he could be because of Komash's influence as a Druid (Circle of the Moon)
🛝: Do they have any childhood friends? If so, are they still in touch with them? What is their relationship like now (or why did it end)?
all children in the clan are raised communally (partly because a significant chunk of parents are adventurers who only stay around until children are weaned onto mashed foods) so Fýrulf has quite a few "cousins." he's not really in touch with them because he's off adventuring, but he enjoys seeing those who stayed in the village when he does come back! he's neutral towards most of them, and honestly he's closer to his wolf-kin (of his own choice).
spending a full moon in the village and getting to run and hunt alongside his wolf-kin is a special treat
😡: Do they have any enemies and/or rivals from their past? How serious of a threat are they to your OC?
none who survived! duels are an accepted part of life and Fýrulf has always come out on top. of course, he knows literally nothing about his father's side of the family. whether or not his elven lineage could come back to bite him in the ass (should anyone actually discover who his father is).... Remains To Be Seen
💘: Do they have a “canon” romantic partner? If so, who is it and what is their relationship like? If not, what kind of person would be the optimal romantic partner for them (the most interesting narratively, not necessarily the healthiest/what they think their preferences are)?
hmmmm he's had a couple theoretical partners I've workshopped but nothing that's really stuck yet— but as far as his BG3 lore, he's romancing Astarion + Halsin (which says a lot, I think). for how strong his emotions are, he tends to take his partner's lead and as such he's very willing to give Astarion as much time as he needs and let him shape the relationship in way that's most comfortable.
he's also VERY into his dream visitor and as ive said im pointedly avoiding spoilers but like. Fýrulf considers his dream guy to be part of his pack, which means he would be VERY easy for DG to manipulate...... lol
🤝: How do they express platonic affection? When does an acquaintance become a friend for them?
thoughtful little gifts, acting protectively, trusting their insight/listening to their directions...
if someone trusts his judgement and does not treat him with fear because he is. A Lycanthrope, that's a quick way to earn his trust and begin the journey from acquaintance to friend
🫂: How are they with casual physical touch? Do they have different boundaries based on how well they know a person? Is there a specific reason behind their comfort level?
if someone asks first/lets him initiate, he's perfectly fine with physical touch :3 just don't touch the back of his neck. + yea he ABSOLUTELY does (for example, in his BG3 run Astarion, Halsin and Gale would be the only ones who could touch him without explicitly asking first).
there's not like.. a specific reason he could point back to, he's just always been particular about touch

Super Robot Rollcall: The Preventers
Garrod Ran
"I won't let you repeat our mistakes!!!"
Source Material: After War Gundam X
Age: 15
Height: 161 cm
Voice Actor: Wataru Takagi
The Blazing Mobile Suit Pilot himself (self-entitled), Garrod's a determined young man who, throughout his travels, realizes just how much of the world around him is built upon (or, in the case of the actual source material, atop the ruins of) the past generation's mistakes, traumas, and baggage. Throughout it all, his dedication to the taciturn young Tiffa Adill serves as motivation to never turn back, regardless of how much cruelty or foolishness he has to deal with.
I like him a lot :)

Garrod won't wow you, but he's certainly not bad either. High Evasion, high Skill, and high Accuracy are all rather nice to have, but his offensive stats are underwhelming.
However, as the game goes on, his Spirit Command list will prove to have basically everything you could want him to have, except for the all-important Spirit (気合, raises user's Will by 10), which would make firing the Gundam X's signature move a lot easier. Speaking of, said signature move more than makes up for Garrod's lack of innate firepower.
Garrod will become better throughout the game, but it does hurt him that all but one of his "upgrades" are more on the machine side than the pilot side, since you could just stick anybody else on his machine(s). Still, the one that IS a direct upgrade for him is rather strong, even if it's technically a secret.
Fun Fact: Garrod is responsible for the single longest-range sniping feat in the history of Gundam, landing a shot from 15~20 thousand kilometers away. Though it should be mentioned, the target in question wasn't exactly small...
Gundam X
Source Material: After War Gundam X
Model Number: GX-9900
Height: 17.1 meters
Real World Designer: Kunio Okawara
The Earth Federation's trump card, and one of the most powerful Newtype-use weapons ever made. Armed with multiple superweapons and a dedicated support unit that never saw live battle during the old war, even with the relatively small number of deployed units, it made one hell of an impression on the battlefield, and gave Jamil Neate PTSD even though he was the one piloting it.
Today, Garrod Ran pilots it, though he doesn't know the full extent of the machine's history, nor of its capabilities...
Average mobility, average range, average firepower, but man it's got one hell of a trump card up its...
...Huh? Where's its trump card?
...In any case, once it's here, it's a big reason why this is one hell of a machine. I'd honestly say it's better than its upgraded counterpart in quite a few circumstances.
Fun Fact: Kunio Okawara has said that the GX was designed with the motif of the famous samurai Sasaki Kojiro in mind; the diagonal way in which the cannon rests on its back, alongside the way the hilt of the beam saber is pulled from its base, are meant to be evocative of Kojiro's famously long katana, the Monohoshizao (Clothespole).
youtube
Jamil Neate
"Don't think, just run!"
Source Material: After War Gundam X
Age: 30
Height: 180 cm
Voice Actor: Ken'yu Horiuchi
A former newtype ace, Jamil now makes his living by leading the Frieden crew. Due to the PTSD the war gave him, he finds himself unable to get back in a Mobile Suit's cockpit, and prefers to lead from the Frieden's bridge instead.
Despite no longer being at the forefront, Jamil is far from a coward, and will go to extreme lengths to protect other newtypes from the same fate he now grapples with. He believes in a future where newtypes are no longer used as weapons of war, and this resolution is exactly what makes people trust him so fiercely.

Jamil boasts the singular strongest Ranged stat out of all battleship commanders in the game (and by a LONG shot), and despite claiming to no longer have Newtype powers, he still has one level of the skill to boot, making him easily the most accurate out of the whole bunch. On top of that, his Evasion is good enough that, coupled with his Newtype abilities, he's capable of making the damn thing dodge sometimes.
If you had to find something to complain about with him, it'd be that his Spirits list really isn't all that good for battleship captain duty, being more suited to a Real Robot pilot.
Also, there's a secret in this game involving him; by a certain chapter, we want him to have 20 kills. Considering how far off said chapter is, it's really not that tall of a task provided you know about it, and i'm sure some people have even managed to get it while not knowing about it. Still, we'd best not forget to feed him every once in a while.
Fun Fact: Flashbacks aside, we never see Jamil without his sunglasses until he takes them off during the final episode, after which point he never puts them back on again.
Frieden
Source Material: After War Gundam X
Length: 130 meters
A modified version of an old Federation Alps-class land battleship.
It's certainly a battleship. It's got thin armor coupled with no barrier, but it's got large reserves of HP as with all battleships, so it's not exactly easy to take down. Plus, by being a landship, it's got the distinct advantage of being able to get terrain bonuses, something the other battleships can't really do.
In case you were thinking of being silly with it and trying to upgrade its mobility to fit Jamil, don't bother. That'd be incredibly expensive for very little returns, and said upgrades will carry over to later ships that are even less fit for dodging. Even equipping it with mobility raising parts doesn't seem worth it, as it only has a measly two Parts slots, much better dedicated for consumable items for you to cast on nearby allies.
Fun Fact: The german word "Frieden" means peace.
youtube
Roybea Loy
"I wonder if there's a Heaven?"
Source Material: After War Gundam X
Height: 184 cm
Voice Actor: Takumi Yamazaki
The Frieden crew's resident playboy. In the original show, his playboy behavior was rationalized as being a way to spread more love than hatred in the desolate world of the After War timeline, but in SRW R's world, i suppose he's just like that innately.
Also, his cut-in art in R is ATROCIOUS, they did him so fucking dirty.

Roybea is alright. He's got average stats all around. Using Garrod as a measuring stick, Roybea hovers slightly below Garrod in most regards, except for being exactly 1 point better in both offensive stats, and being a whopping 10 points behind in Evasion.
Still, he makes up for this with a fairly stellar Spirit command lineup, with an early Daunt (脱力, lowers target enemy's Will by 10) being stellar for boss-slaying, and later getting Assault (突撃, can use any weapon after moving, except for MAP attacks), which can make him a serious candidate for the GX (and its upgrade) in playthroughs where you don't get the big Gundam X secret. On top of all that, he even has 2 levels of Support Attack.
Gundam Leopard
Source Material: After War Gundam X
Model Number: GT-9600
Height: 16.8 meters
A heavy-weapons machine from the same war as the Gundam X, the Leopard was also originally a Newtype-use machine, though the one Roybea uses has been heavily modified, and no longer has the Flash System.
Below average Mobility, below average Movement Range, below average firepower. This thing's not great. It has a MAP attack, but it's weak enough that it won't be very useful for much more than weakening multiple grunt enemies at a time (though it IS nice that it doesn't have a Will requirement). It'll get a couple upgrades later down the line, but even then, there's better options, even within the constraints of Gundam X MSs.
Fun Fact: In the Gundam X timeline, this was the first Gundam ever made, and was once ridden by the very first newtype.
youtube
Witz Sou
"Please... Protect the Frieden!"
Source Material: After War Gundam X
Height: 175 cm
Voice Actor: Kazuya Nakai
A hot-blooded, impulsive young man who's often the butt of jokes on the Frieden. He starts off abrasive, but as the crew gets to know him better, he can't help but get attached. He's been trying to get money to help his family back home, but when he returns home after a long while and things have seriously changed, he has a hard time coping with it.
His backstory doesn't really fit with the complicated setting of SRW R, and the large cast in R doesn't really offer Witz the found family vibes that the Frieden crew thawed him with, so here he's just an asshole for no reason and is often designated for scenes where the script clearly just needed someone to be a dick and/or a contrarian. Poor Witz :(

He hovers around Roybea's statline on every metric except Melee, which is REALLY low, but that doesn't really matter when no Gundam X machines really suffer from the pilot having low Melee.
Spirit Commands wise, he's less impressive than Roybea. He's not really missing anything particularly important, but he doesn't have any real standouts other than maybe Accel, which coupled with his Airmaster, let him be wherever he wants to be, whenever he wants to be.
Fun Fact: Witz was Kazuya Nakai's first role, fresh off of giving up the salaryman lifestyle to try and break into the VA business. Judging from certain interviews, it seems he's rather attached to the role because of this.
Gundam Airmaster
Source Material: After War Gundam X
Model Number: GW-9800
Height: 17.2 meters
A high-mobility newtype-use machine from the same war as the Leopard and the Gundam X. Much like the Leopard, this machine seems to have been modified, and no longer has the Newtype-use Flash System.
High base mobility, and BONKERS Movement Range. It does suffer from not having an attack with longer range than 5 tiles, but that issue is somewhat alleviated by the fact that said 5-range attack is post-movement on top of this thing's turbo speeds.
A more genuine issue with it, however, is its lack of firepower. Still, you can do a lot worse than this one.
Fun Fact: Kazuya Nakai has a model kit of this machine, but refuses to actually build it out of sentimentality. I've always found this story really sweet.

Fa Yuiry
"Humans are emotional animals!"
Source Material: Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack
Birthday: October 9th
Age: 17
Voice Actress: Miyuki Matsuoka
A determined and kind young woman who ended up involved with the AEUG during the Gryps Conflict. Though not as impulsive as some of her compatriots, she too has a strong sense of justice, and held deep resentment for the Titans.
In SRW R, the Gryps Conflict has already concluded (though evidently in a very different manner from how the TV show concluded), and now she searches for Kamille's whereabouts.

There's no sugarcoating it, Fa's terrible. If you must find any positive quirks of her, she gets Blocking up to level 5, which is really high, and she gets three levels of Support Defense. Couple this with her being a Newtype, and i guess you could try and make her a Support Defense battery? Obviously this would be a terrible use of a deploy slot, but if you absolutely MUST deploy her because you are madly in love with her, that'd be the move. Here's some rot13'd paragraphs with future unit spoilers if you're someone who MUST use Fa and find this non-negotiable.
if you're wondering why i even bothered with this, it's because i really really like theorycrafting and will take any excuse to do it

Methuss
Source Material: Mobile Suit Z Gundam: Char’s Counterattack
Model Number: MSA-005
Height: 26 meters
Power Source: Nuclear Fusion Reactor
Real World Designer: Mamoru Nagano
An experimental mobile suit created as a testbed for the Zeta Gundam's transforming mechanism.
It's also one of my favorite Mobile Suits, period!
It's terrible. Its only saving grace is its ability to Repair, which is admittedly rare in R, but... it's really not worldchanging enough to justify how bad this thing is.
They even gave it a B rank in space. This thing spent most of its time in space in the damn show, man, what the hell
Fun Fact: Despite prominently serving as a fuel tank for the Hyaku Shiki's big beam cannon (official name, trust me), the Methuss has never had the ability to Resupply by default in SRW games, only recently acquiring as a Full Upgrade Bonus (or Half Upgrade Bonus).
This is a great injustice.
youtube
Lucrezia Noin
"Zechs... it's been 1 year and 22 days..."
Source Material: New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz
Age: 19
Voice Actor: Chisa Yokoyama
A smart and level-headed woman, Noin graduated from military academy with top marks. She did her best to revive the Sanc Kingdom, which her stalking target lover old friend Zechs hailed from, alongside his younger sister Relena. Even after the kingdom fell once more, she and Relena continued to steadfastly expouse and protect the virtues of total pacifism, the ideal on which the Sanc Kingdom was built. In the Preventers, she goes by the codename "Fire".
In SRW games featuring Endless Waltz, she's usually the first or one of the first Preventers to join you.

Noin's stats are all middling to bad, with the one standout being, weirdly enough, rather high Defense.
If you use her at all, it's for her rather good support-oriented Spirit Commands, but her machine isn't particularly fit for support duty, so she just feels aimless. If only we could put her in the Methuss...
Fun Fact: She's often overshadowed by Zechs both in the source material and in all of their countless SRW appearances, but in-universe, she's shown herself to be a lot more competent than him on various occasions.
Taurus
Source Material: New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz
Model Number: SK-12 SMS
Height: 16.8 meters
Real World Designer: Jun'ya Ishigaki
Imagine if the Airmaster didn't have its cracked Movement Range, nor its great base Mobility. Now imagine Witz was pilot-locked to it.
Yeah, i'd advocate for total pacifism too if this hunk of junk was the best i could get my hands on.
youtube
Whew, that sure turned out to be one LONG rollcall.
With that, happy birthday to me, and i'll be seeing you all on monday!

new relic sets and Firefly and Jade's finalized kits have leaked, I shall talk about them. Keep in mind this is an amateur's reading of this stuff, I'm not number crunching here.

god it figures a new BE set would release right as I finish farming meteor for Sushang. I guess I should have known what with Harmony TB, Boothill, and Firefly all utilizing break effect. Here's hoping that harmony TB can get me over that 250% threshhold lmao.
aaaannnddd the new best in slot for the FUA crowd. Actually I really hate seeing "FUA" used for follow-up attack bc it always tricks me into thinking people are talking about Fu Hua for at least a couple seconds. Marshal Hua leaks......where are you.....
But idc about this set bc I have no FUA team. I am making the prediction that this set's lore is about the Yuque, it just has the look of region-specific Cloud Knight armor.

literally just Firefly's BiS. Who else can even benefit from that set?
Well, actually now that I'm thinking about it, Asta with this and the new BE relic set might go hard as hell. And maybe Hoook?? But honestly I haven't even taken a glance at Hook's kit so idk what she specializes in. Himeko and Topaz could too, I guess, but I think they'd benefit more from this other set.
Speaking of, the other is just another FUA buff, following HSR's tradition of providing a new BiS the patch directly after a new support unit for that gimmick comes out.
As for lore, the first looks like the Zhuming?? If we're just going off of the flame motif. The second feels like the Yaoqing, considering they're the ones with the Lunar Embryo and the Borisin problem. It makes sense that we're getting more Xianzhou lore considering we were told we're going back to the Xianzhou this year.

idc about eidolons so I'm not including them.
Firefly's kit looks pretty similar to the various beta stages. Ultimate enters her into an enhanced state (SAM) with stronger attacks, standard skill consumes 50% HP for 50% energy gain, enhanced state skill restores HP. DMG taken decreases alongside her HP so you can worry less about her being oneshot after she uses her skill, so she might be viable to run with a shielder only.
Technique and enhanced skill gives a fire weakness implant and thank god bc that shit used to be locked behind her first eidolon.
It looks like the complete combustion countdown will prevent you from spamming her ULT and staying in the enhanced state. It looks like speed and break effect will be the two stats to look out for. Especially with one of her traces ignoring target's defense starting at 250% BE. yeah, that BE relic set was made for her.

Jade! Her kit is weird. Basic is standard AOE attack, but her skill enhances an ally's speed by 30 and when that ally attacks they deal addition quantum damage to every enemy based off of her attack. Oh and it also consumes 5% of the ally's HP.
Each attack from the ally that has her skill active gives her stack, when the stack reaches 8 she deals a follow-up attack. Her ULT is an AOE attack that enhances the damage of her follow-up.
So it looks like Jade will need to run with an ally that has a high speed stat, bc she can't enhance herself. Honestly you'll have to go to the meta bitches to see who fits her best, bc I'm not the person to ask lmao. Maybe a harmony unit, since most of those need high speed anyways? Or another damage dealer to make the most out of the attack increase.
Also real quick, check this out

This bitch has a 4-STAR ERUDTION LIGHTCONE
Oh he's a 4-star for sure. Sorry Sunday enjoyers lmaoooooooo

Week 8
Experimentation
Basically waterboarded the bro, put a sheet cover over him and went into a park with a strong light. Worked out well as sunset is at light 5:30 so it got dark real quick.
Editing black and white and added off white kinda effects to make it seem more mysterious, rustic, and how pollution kind of makes everything more dirty, personal feeling. Sheet over face to make bro seem like he cant breathe aka pollution also relating to the colour balance
Next steps: I want to add text, edit smoke into the photo, another photoshoot that has better lighting and alter the camera settings that make the photo clearer.
Ideas: suffocation ; loss of identity from urbanization ; protective gear i.e. motif of mask
Challenges i faced: the bedsheet being too thick, the time i took the photos around 5ish was around sunset and i had to constantly change the settings, and so the photos i got were very inconsistent, and some were blurry/shaky. Also i was pouring water over the bro while someone else was pulling a sheet back and flashing a flashlight into his face which was very uncomfortable for him. Additionally I didn't have a light which I could freely move around which limited the amount of lighting choices I had
Week 8 in class
Begin by writing in a Word doc for your blog: what are the 3 main challenges you are currently facing in your project, along with your current plan to address these 3 challenges? These reflections will also be used in your one-to-one meetings with your lecturer and informal group critiques with your classmates. Use these thoughts and plans as a starting point for discussion.
3 Challenges
Finding a way to capture pollution or the concept of the negative aspects of pollution in a photograph. Thinking of fog machines, a vapes but don’t have either
Change in direction. When the class first started I was pretty set on a graffiti urban set of photographs, but then as I progressed I realised that the subject I chose didn’t relate. I was stubborn and tried to stick with my idea until almost the formative and only then I fully grasped that my idea was not it.
Finding someone keen to help out. All my friends are in their 3rd year as well and getting swamped by assessments. It’s hard to find someone keen to go out and take photos for a few hours in the dark.
HM: Personal procrastination.
Challenge 1) Post production editing experimenting with smoke
Challenge 2)
The goal is to begin problem-solving at least one central aspect of your campaign/project in class time. This may be in response to verbal feedback or an area you have identified you need to work on.
You may also select one skills aspect of the brief that you wish to advance, for example:
studio lighting practice (book studio ahead of time);
DSLR camera testing (test trials to learn a new way to use your camera to suit your shoot);
location lighting tests (take lights to a location – book these ahead of time);
location finding (go to locations to test compositions, light, etc);
test props or materials photographically;
lens and focal length testing (undertake a series of tests to work out optimum focal length etc. for a particular controlled shoot);
developing or scanning analogue film;
printing in the darkroom;
post-production for inkjet printing (book computer ahead of time in inkjet lab);
book-making tests;
Intro to inkjet printing;
Further in class experimentation:
quick mock up
LED Light panel set.
Borrow a piece of fabric
Stats of most heavily polluted cities in the world and stats of the particulates in the air
Shock factor
Studio test was really good. Lighting and setup all tested. Now future testing will use different cloths and lighting panel
I bought a piece of silk 90x90 for less than $20 as it was an off-cut at Wah Lee near hobson street.
Looked at facebook marketplace for fog machines, can borrow one for 20$ but needs a power source.
Natalie sent me an email showing canned atmosphere aerosol which seems to fit my purpose. It’s on sale as well for 23$ and in Mt Eden so I will definitely check it out
I’m also struggling to rent a light from the AUT space as there’s something wrong with my account. Looking to go to IT and fix it
Site searching: there's a place with graffiti outside wah lee which would be nice at night time. Otherwise the phone booth at princess street could be nice as well. Next to after 6 moto the abandoned car park
Want to look at dirty-grungey places. Where could I go?
Abandoned buildings?
