Dirty Little Animals by Bones UK (from the Arcane soundtrack) is so first couple days feral BOLAS?! To me. Explanation under the cut for anyone interested lol

Like the first verse? "Taste what fell from grace"? They weren't exactly high and mighty on the first island, but they sure had it better there than in literal purgatory.

"You wanna mess around they're gonna take you down down down" - The other teams took this somewhat seriously, but by the end of the first day Bolas was completely broke and decided to go with the rp route, go completely insane, and somehow are still winning, despite all the hangups and deaths they had.

"such a lovely way to burn burn burn" - at the end of the first day there was a solid five minutes of people throwing themselves into the campfire to amass a large pile of bodies

"I've never felt like this before, think I might just want some more" - the amount of all the trauma and just general vibes given off by these specific people was enough to allow bolas to go over the edge and go crazy, alone they've all got their respective RP things going but together the energy bounces off each other as they constantly enable the ones around them, allowing for them to go well and truly insane after Bad provided a catalyst

"the kind of wrong that make you feel right" - so many of the characters on this team are considered morally grey, really none besides Phil and maybe carre have any sort of moral standing, and even then it's debatable, Jaidens close but she's also very easily manipulated as we see with cucurucho, she has good intentions most of the time but she doesn't have them because they are good, she has them because she doesn't want the people close to her getting hurt

"the little death that makes you feel alive" -jaidens complete disregard for her life on day four, willing to die upwards of 30 times (she died ninety four times total but also died from the gas a lot so im not sure how much was spawn camping, figured id play it safe) to cheat and manipulate the other teams for the benefit of BOLAS. Also again the campfire. And the stick fights. They just really like to beat eachother to the death.

"it makes your blood run hot, it makes your spit taste sweet, it makes you feel more alive than you have ever been" - literally just the insanity that's swamped the team, it's been dialed down some since day 4 but it's definitely still there, they are not ok and I love them. Some analogy could be made with the gas masks and the toxic gas, knowing you are immune to something that has killed many, the high of the adrenaline as they run through this fatal fog with little regards for their own safety.

"dirty little animals, beautiful cannibals" - they've brought up cannibalism multiple times and the majority of them (characters, to clarify) say they would be fine with it if given consent first, cellbit's canonically already done it too lmao. You can't tell be that they aren't just a buncha dirty little guys. Have you seen Charlie's skin, have you heard jaiden and foolish barking, all of them screeching muffled at the enemies, or howling in joy

Also for those of you who haven't seen, arcane season 2 got a release date for sometime in November 2024, which is so fucking exciting and it's a lot sooner than I expected

fun, random facts about the boys:

if castor had to choose a pet, he'd be most likely to pick a bird. he's actually had a bird in a private rp with a friend, an owl named archimedes. i don't remember which type of owl in particular, but i do believe it was a smaller one... maybe it was a barn owl?

pollux prefers really weird animals. he's the most likely twin to have something others see as weird or unusual, like a snake or type of bug.

castor's favorite animals are cats! any cats, really, even the big ones.

if pollux had to choose a more "normal" animal, he'd probably pick a fox or opossum, maybe a skunk. brief fun facts: opossums are the ones native to north america, also called "oppos". oppos are traditionally believed to be harbingers of disease, but actually, they don't tend to carry super deadly ones. in fact, it's nearly impossible (note: NEARLY means it's still possible but not at all common) for them to carry rabies due to their low body temp. oppos are also known for playing dead, but this isn't a voluntary thing, as opposed to common belief. when playing dead, an oppo will fall over and appear dead, of course, and will begin to drool, occasionally foam at the mouth to make a predator think its diseased. possums with no o are the ones from australia and they're mean little fuckers :3 as far as skunks, most skunks kept in the usa are required to have their scent glands removed in order to keep as a pet. it varies from state to state and country to country, but in most places, it's totally fine and legal to have a skunk. i *believe* in the uk, they're required to have scent glands in tact, but don't quote me on that. it's been a long time since i've done skunk research. did you know that skunks also come in many different colors? my favorites are the lavender ones :) look it up! their little faces are so precious.

pollux's favorite animal/creature, despite this, are bees!

castor has a way of making friends wherever he goes, though... most aren't human! he's more a cinderella type, where animals adore him.

pollux has a two headed rabbit plush, with one side that is a light green and one side that is yellow! the green one formerly belonged to castor, but was taken away from him at a young age by his mother. when pollux was released, he was given both bunnies, and he had it made into one singular, big plush.

both twins only really care for their dad, but did you know they actually do have a mother figure that they also love? her nickname is nana, and she is an old, dark skinned lady (presumably black, but i haven't fully designed her yet) who works alongside their dad at the bakery. pollux gave her the nickname when he was little, and nana actually helped him begin to learn how society worked, and helped him start to trust his dad. pollux was very untrusting of anyone, but nana always greeted him with kindness and patience, and gave him so much love and good food. nana is actually inspired by my friend's grandpa. he was one of the first people i actually opened up to about my situation at home, and when he found out that i was having hard times, he was one of the first people to help. he occasionally gave me money to help buy food and things my mom and i needed, and he'd always tell me i had a beautiful smile and should show it off more. i also saw him at band concerts and he would make time for me to speak to me afterwards! he was really sweet, and of course, black, so nana also has a dark skin tone. nana is also inspired by all the loving old ladies i've had in my life, who always cook the best food and tell lots of stories and always have room for you in their heart :)

neither twin can play instruments, but both twins love music. castor is most interested in percussion, and pollux is most interested in stringed instruments :)

When I was a baby lesbian in the 80s I frequented the legendary bookstore Lambda Rising, which was located in the rather upscale gayborhood of DuPont Circle in DC. My favorite part of that store was the rack of zines made by queers of all kinds for various queer niches. I picked one up called Artemis, which purported to be for women who like women who look like women. I thought “that kind of sounds like me,” and I avidly read and reread it. It was clear that the community who made this zine were UK-based, and I was a pretty miserable teenager on the east coast of the US, struggling with more than my own share of stuff, so nothing more came of it.

About 10 years later, it was the mid-90s and I was using gopher to read Usenet. I kid you not! That is how ancient I am. I confess that I was poking around a number of groups at that time that fell into the “alt.sex” category. One day there appeared a message on the femdom group about a Feminine Empire where only girls were allowed, and that I must jump through the “shimmering portal” quickly as it would close in short order. There was a URL, which was a thing of which I had only become aware within a year or so of that fateful afternoon.

The site was called Femmeworld, and it was an absolute delight! I won’t go into any detail here about that site, as several very intelligent and competent blogesses here on Tumblr have done that. I learned about blondes and brunettes, and I was struck with a bolt of revelation that I was a brunette, and that explained me! I made sense! Of course I understood that this was all within a fantasy world and that there was no such thing as an Aristasian brunette, but it revealed to me that other women had these feelings and experiences, and had thought about and discussed it enough to invent a fictional designation.

To cut to the chase, here were these women, some of whom were enby, but also female essentialist. They were anti-patriarchal, but anti-feminist. Advocates of complete state welfare (see the “colleges” that girls can choose to live in) but entirely anti-socialist, and in fact monarchical. And of course one can’t hear about “blondes and brunettes” without immediately detecting at least a bit of racism. When questioned about that, they always insisted that in lands where girls were dark-skinned, the blondes simply had hair of silver or white, and honestly it’s a trivial point, and could I please drop the subject?

I won’t go into an extensive discussion of the implications here, but I am sensitive to them. I was raised in an actively anti-racist white family. I always strive to be aware of racism and white supremacy wherever I go in the real world and the virtual. I can only tell you that because all of my interactions were virtual, it would be hard for me to absolve the Aristasians of any such allegations, but I can say that the welcoming, vulnerable, friendly nature of these ladies suggests that hate of any kind would be quite alien to them. There were a couple of girls in Second Life whose avatars appeared to be Black, and they were accepted with as much joy and enthusiasm as all other girls present. More than that I can’t say.

For another 10 years, I popped in and out of Aristasian spaces. I contributed to forums, and even took part for a short time in an online schoolgirl RP by email. Some time in the mid aughts, it was announced that an Aristasian Embassy would be established in the virtual world of Second Life. I immediately started an SL account so I could go there (and how I spent the next 15 or so years in SL is a whoooole other narrative that isn’t particularly relevant.) I attended a couple of balls at the Embassy, and was very graciously complimented on my gown. I was present for Operation Bridgehead, but was privy to very little inside information about the disagreements that ensued. If I knew anything about that, I would not share it here. Despite any philosophical differences with these ladies, I have great respect and affection for them, and would be unwilling to air their dirty laundry, so to speak.

I was privileged to get to know Sushuri Madonna, who was at that time the undisputed leader, at least of the contingent that could be found in SL. She was entirely delightful, intelligent, and kind, and had an extremely delicate nature. Despite my best efforts not to offend, I am sure my most carefully curated speech had to seem terribly coarse to her. We exchanged some email, and she was kind enough to offer editorial assistance with a few bits of Aristasian fiction I was toying with. What little I learned about her personally, I will of course not disclose, but I felt that we were friends, and I cared for her very much. I hope she is still alive and well, and that the demise of the persona called Cure Dolly does not indicate her real life death.

Murder OC Week Day 1- Intro

What is your murder oc's name? Where are they from, how do they kill, and what's their favorite weapon or do they like using their body to kill?

The prompt for this is from @murder-oc-week and is here. The general rules are here! I'm going to try to keep up with it for at least some of my characters each day because well... any excuse to talk about my little guys😈

Just to explain; my OCs are from a project called Human Nature; a murder sim that's still just a concept/used for RP at the moment but as I continue to work on my drawing skills... who knows? It's set in a fictional town in SW Wisconsin but all my characters originate from elsewhere. I have a few other main characters and side characters but I've only included the ones who canonically kill people. Since I haven't drawn all of them yet, I'm going to post my Sim renditions of them(my "murder sims" if you will)! But I do have art of Theo and Hope if anyone wants to click their tags or my art tag 😊

Name: Theodore Kingswell From: Port Perry, Ontario, Canada- moved to US a couple of years ago Method of killing/favourite weapon etc: Theo doesn't have a single favourite weapon, but he's all about killing you with his obsession. If you end up tipping towards him wanting to be you, he will mostly use knives; for example to skin you, cut your throat and steal your identity, making you cannibalise him as he does the same to you. If you end up with the routes where he wants to be with you more, it's more of a mixed bag; he may end up doing things like sewing himself to you, burying you alive with him, or crushing you to death.

Name: Epiphany Quintana From: Poza Rica, Veracruz, Mexico- moved to the US aged 10 Method of killing/favourite weapon etc: Epiphany prefers for others to do the dirty work overall and will manipulate her bodyguards or other staff to kill you wherever possible. Obviously there are routes of this where she is alone with you, and in that case she will most often use broken bottles, or ligature strangulation using equipment that would usually be used for her BDSM play such as whips or ropes.

Name: Rahim Adnan From: Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia- moved to the US aged 18 Method of killing/favourite weapon etc: He often uses his gun if it's a disobedience kill. If it's a torture kill it's more likely to be accidental; blood loss or electrocution. He also enjoys smothering his sexual partners so if he really likes you and you consent there's a chance you'll die by asphyxiation.

Name: Azazel Blake (surname is adopted) From: Heaven- banished to earth around a year before start of story Method of killing/favourite weapon etc: Azazel is a neutral character with angelic powers so his most common method of killing is accidental- beams of holy light that he's not fully in control of. This could happen as collateral if he's attacking someone he's afraid of, or anger if you antagonise him. If he chooses to kill out or mercy or to avoid being sent back to heaven for example- he will hold you gently and painlessly obliterate your brain function.

Name: Hope Chambers From: Cambridge, England, UK- moved to the US around 12, then to Canada for college, then back again. Method of killing/favourite weapon etc: Hope only kills their killers (or yours if they're acting as an ally in-game) so it's going to be spur of the moment and likely to be with the killers' own weapon. But they do have a bit of a thing for blood so they have a preference for knives, razor blades or other sharp objects, and can sometimes get a bit carried away...

Hi anon! I miss our bug boy too - but it's what inspired me to make the 'Bloodlines' series!

So, my Roach headcanons, it's a bit long but hey ho:

He's British - born and raised in rural green of East of England.

Accent? He has what is known as a Modern RP British accent (Youtube example) with a hint of "farmer" sometimes thrown in because you can't escape it if you live in the East lmao.

He hold dual nationality (British and US) but uses the British flag.

He is a Royal Marine, specifically apart of the Special Forces Support Group. He joined when he was 17.

He is a K9 handler, chosen to be a part of a new trial of Royal Marine based K9s. This is how he met his dog, Nacho! The trial was scrapped leaving them as the only pair that made it through.

He's a skilled and focused fighter on duty, but off duty he's a friendly, empathic guy who likes to make jokes.

He knows British Sign Language - after his mother's death, he was diagnosed with Selective Mutism. Therapy and counselling helped deal with his grief and he started to speak again but sometimes he uses BSL because he's a little sh*t ;)

His appearance:

He has sandy blonde hair, cut fairly short but has a good ol' fluffy fringe parted on the right.

His eyes are a bluey-green.

Caucasian skin with freckles on his arms.

He's 180cm tall, he's well-built with defined muscle but naturally slim and small.

He has a scar on his right cheek and neck, along with many unseen scars on his chest.

His family:

His father is American, his mother was British.

His father is a high ranked officer in the US Army, he started out in the US Miliatry Police and worked his way up.

His father was stationed as security in the UK at a USAF base, its how he met Roach's mother.

His mother passed away from cancer when he was 9, this strained his relationship with his father.

Roach's uncle is Sandman! Sandman is the younger brother of Roach's father.

Roach considers Sandman his "dad", he stepped up when his biological father didn't and has always been there for Roach.

A big part of Roach's background was being apart of a secretive joint unit between Special Forces Royal Marines and US Marines. The unit only did a handful of missions before it was attacked during a mission to retrieve stolen intel from an enemy compound. The unit were travelling in a convoy when they were swarmed by insurgents - by the time help arrived, only 4 unit members were still alive and Roach was one of them (along with Nacho). This is where he received his scars.

He was sent back to the UK 2 days later to recover in hospital - on arrival he was met by Sandman, who had flown in as soon as he heard about the attack. Roach was offered a place in the SAS but he turned it down as they did not want Nacho to come with him. Instead, Roach and Nacho travel back to America with Sandman, where Roach recovers and spends his days keeping up training.

I've tried to simplify everything down - feel free to ask more questions for more in-depth stuff, Sandman headcanons etc :)

Family

Mother: Clelia Bellona Durand née Rovere was an Italian Spy/Auror for the International Confederation of Wizards. She was a strong-headed woman with strong morals. Tasked to keep an eye on the developments in the UK during the Second Wizarding War, she was killed only a few months after Jupiter's birth, leaving behind her husband and two little children.

Faceclaim: Alessandra Mastronardi

Father: Aldéric Mylon Durand is a renowned Dragonologist from France. He is friends with Kaari Arcano and was part of the Phoenix Resistance and helped to smuggle innocent wizards abroad, granting them refuge at Fort Durand. He was devastated when his wife Clelia was murdered by Death Eaters, merely months after the birth of their daughter, Jupiter. But it only made him more determined to put an end to it. After the war and now a single dad, he decided to move to Skalafell to get away for a while, heal his emotional wounds and work with Kaari at his sanctuary. Between his studies and travels, he’d go back and forth between France and Skalafell, taking his kids with him wherever he’d go. The early loss of his wife caused him to be quite protective of his kiddos—so be aware! He can definitely be a little intimating but he's actually just a soft idiot. He recently agreed to fill in the spot of Professor for CoMC—although only temporarily. Offers extra classes on Dragonology for students that are interested.

Older brother: Elio Amédée Durand, born in 1995, is Jupiter's older brother and is, and I quote, “the cool sibling”. At Hogwarts, he is the Seeker and Captain of the Slytherin team and would later play for the Quiberon Quafflepunchers and the French National Team. He is outspoken and likes to make things awkward. His best subjects are DADA, Flying and Muggle Studies. Huge film and history nerd! And looooves surfing! Although Elio can be a bit of an idiot and likes to tease her, he always looks out for her and loves her a lot!

Backstory

Jupiter grew up in a wizarding town called Skalafell for a large part of her childhood. Her father had moved them there after the loss of her mother which was an especially hard hit for him. When she was a little older, she would help out at the sanctuary as often as she could, nursing all the dragons, that her father and Kaari rescued, back to health and thus developed a deep connection and love for animals—dragons especially. With the skies so clear in the Norwegian mountains, she would sneak out at night to watch the stars, believing her mother was one of them or more so liking the thought of it.

With her father being a Dragonologist he was bound to travel a lot but he’d always take his kids along with him—well, anywhere that didn’t propose any immediate threat to them. Travels, dinner parties and lectures quickly became part of their daily lives and so did duelling, physical combat and archery (the standard Durand training, also Kaari was a big influence). Jupiter didn’t mind this at all since it granted her many joyful memories of exploring different countries and cultures alongside her dad and brother. They would go back and forth between the fort, Paris, and Skalafell—and sometimes Florence to visit her grandparents. When Elio was 11 her father was asked to step in to teach CoMC which made Elio want to go to Hogwarts too. Jupiter followed his example and insisted to attend Hogwarts as well.

Personality: Jupiter is an imaginative idealist and enjoys spending time exploring her own ideas and values while gently encouraging others to do the same. She's sensitive, caring and compassionate and is deeply concerned with her personal growth. Individualistic and nonjudgmental, she believes that each person must find their own path.

Jupiter tends to reserve her most authentic thoughts and feelings for people she knows well but is quite bubbly and playful when she's comfortable around someone. She likes to explore and express her thoughts and feelings through poetry and occasionally attends slams and plays at the Three Broomsticks. She quite enjoys philosophy and meaningful conversations. The two became a couple in their 6th year, sometime after Christmas, and continued their relationship until Jimmy took up a job at the Ministry. Jupiter grew increasingly irritated with him for overworking himself and neglecting everything else which ultimately made her end the relationship with him. Jimmy was deeply hurt by it and got involved in not-so-legal activities. The two got back together after Jimmy's trial and conscious efforts to better himself.

Best friend: Rosa Yaxley @potionboy3 - Rosa and Jupiter hit it off from the very first day at Hogwarts and have grown closer ever since. Rosa really is the yang to her yin and she loves her from the bottom of her heart! They often stay up late, talking and gossiping and tend to be quite affectionate with each other.
