In this article, we’ll explore the criteria for selecting the best fitness tracker under $50 and provide a comprehensive review of the top 5 products available in the market.
Criteria for selecting the best fitness tracker under $50:
When it comes to choosing a fitness tracker, there are several factors you need to consider to ensure that you get the best value for your money. Here are the key criteria to look for when selecting a fitness tracker under $50:
Design and aesthetics: The design and aesthetics of the fitness tracker can make a big difference in terms of its comfort and wearability. Look for a tracker that fits comfortably on your wrist, has a clear display, and has a design that matches your personal style.
Features and functionalities: While you may not get all the bells and whistles of a high-end fitness tracker, there are still several features and functionalities you should look for in a budget-friendly tracker. These may include step tracking, heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, calorie counting, and more. Consider which features are most important to you and ensure that the tracker you choose offers them.
User interface and compatibility: The user interface and compatibility of the fitness tracker are also crucial. Ensure that the tracker has a user-friendly interface that is easy to navigate and understand. Also, check that it is compatible with your smartphone and other devices you plan to use it with.
Battery life and durability: Lastly, consider the battery life and durability of the fitness tracker. A good tracker should have a long-lasting battery that can go for at least a few days before needing to be charged. Additionally, look for a tracker that is durable and can withstand the wear and tear of everyday use.
By keeping these criteria in mind, you can select a fitness tracker under $50 that meets your needs and provides you with the best value for your money.

Cowboy time.
Ghost doesn't let you call him his name. It's his last line of defense against you and your intolerable ability to get under his skin. It drives you crazy. He introduces himself to everyone in town as Simon and yet you are forced to keep him at arms length. Even though he had you screaming his name when you first met him, if you so much as attempt to call him "Simon" he shuts it down immediately. You think he knows it bothers you too, but you're both too stubborn to bring it up.
Well that's just fine with you, you don't want to call him Simon anyway.
He really lives up to his call sign following you around town while you run errands. You didn't want to invite him but your dad insisted you needed an escort. Which Ghost thinks was a smart idea watching the way you lean over the counter and flirt with the shop keeper at every stop to try and get discounts. It takes everything in him to not throw you over his shoulder and haul you away from the lecherous stares those men fix you with.
It takes two stores for him to crack, and it's the puppy eyes you fix him with when you see the newly hatched chicks at the supply store. "Be good," he tells you, checking the neat little list you fixed for him against bags of feed.
"But look how cute they are," you pout, scooping up a chicken to show him. He glances at you, unamused.
"I've seen cuter," he hauls a bag of feed over his shoulder like it weighs nothing, "Be good and I'll give you a reward when we're done."
You roll your eyes and settle the chick back under the heat lamp, feeling Ghost close behind as you make your way to the counter to negotiate price. As soon as you start to flirt you feel Ghost's glare, hear his warning growl. You sigh and try to rely on whatever good will you have in town. It doesn't work as well. You'll have to redo you budgets if this keeps up, but you're good if only so you can see what Ghost has thought up as a reward.
When you finally finish all your shopping Ghost loads the truck, glaring at every other guy who offers a hand. You tug the cab door open and he reaches past you to shut it, leaning close.
"So you're just being a full on dick now?" You ask, turning to lean against the truck, trying to act like having him so close doesn't make your heart start to beat out of your chest.
"You want your reward or not? " He asks, tipping his head to one side, a brow raised like you're the one being difficult. You narrow your eyes at him, almost wishing you'd gotten the deals you wanted now.
"Depends on what it is"
"Eyes closed," you sigh and close your eyes, "open your mouth."
"You want me to get on my knees too?" You can't help the sarcastic comment, but Ghost is close enough you can almost feel his shoulders shaking with repressed laughter.
"Just open it."
You huff, and open your mouth, sticking out your tongue for good measure. Just to tease him. You feel him move, hear the rustle of fabric and then... and then.
His fingers press up against your jaw, holding you in place with a rough hand around your throat as his tongue slides against yours, licking once to edge it into his mouth, lips closing around the wet muscle before his tongue darts out again to lick into your mouth. Hot and insistent as he kisses you filthy, all tongue and teeth. He makes your head spin, your fingers twist into his shirt for something to hold onto. Ghost pulls away too soon, his tongue replaced by something hard and honeyed.
He's already walking away when you open your eyes, mask fixed back in place as he circles the truck to open the passenger door and climb in. You wonder which was the reward, the kiss or the sucker. You're still mad at him as you climb in and start up the truck.
"So... Si-"
"Nope."
You pout the rest of the way home.

reo flower shop au pt 2! i’m gonna make this a series i love it so much
Tumblr media
your little flower shop is strategically settled in one of the trendiest areas in tokyo. it’s a smart spot, one that men like reo can appreciate because it was his shop too.
with today being the shop’s grand opening, he can’t help but reflect on the last year and a half.
when the space had first gone up for sale under the mikage real estate corporation, he’d been ecstatic. not only was it aesthetically pleasing, with beautiful floor to ceiling double-paned windows (the sexiest kind) and gorgeous marble floors, but the businessman in him saw nothing but the revenue that could be gained from office workers sucking up to their bosses to eager romantics trying to impress their dates.
when he’d shown you the listing, your first concern had been the price. it was steep, even with the generous family discount he’d tacked on. he couldn’t understand why you, with all your moral conviction, had refused to just let him buy it for you. he was just trying to be a good husband!
so after nearly three months of trying and failing, he’d finally won you over the way ‘businessman reo’ (as nagi called him) would. with a nice dinner, some drinks, and a good ol’ fashioned negotiation. he won’t go into details, but he was so good that by the end of it you were practically eating out of his hand–
“reo!”
he immediately abandons his secret project. “coming, babe!”
you’re down on your knees in the back room, using a folded up cloth to carefully sweep up the shattered remains of a vase.
“it just slipped out of my hands,” you mutter as he takes the cloth, helping you stand. he quickly grabs a broom, sweeping out and disposing of the broken glass.
if he didn’t know you like he did, it’d be easy to miss the tenseness in your shoulders and the worry in your eyes as you glance at the time on your watch.
“baby, it’s okay. it’s only one vase.”
“i know,” you sigh, wiping your hands on your apron before pressing them to your cheeks. “i’m just– i’m freaking out a little, reo.”
while he had taken charge of turning the rented space into an official business, securing permits, licenses, and setting up bank accounts, you’d focused on turning the business into a proper flower shop. you researched greenhouses and coolers and delivery trucks. you weighed the shop’s budget against what you wanted to charge for individual flowers and arrangements.
he’d watched you worry yourself in circles about a lot of things for the past year and a half, and he’s gotten pretty good at bringing you back down to earth.
“hey, whatever happens today, we will be on top of it. ‘cause we’re a great team. ” he assures you. “remember when isagi tripped and put a hole through the wall? we yelled at him together and then realized we could make built-in wall buckets for the flower bar to save space.”
he presses a kiss to your forehead when the memory makes you laugh, smiling against your skin. “and we’re going to have a great opening day because i posted the picture of kunigami on all our socials.”
you pull back to look up at him, brows raised. “the one where he’s just wearing an apron and holding a bouquet of flowers?”
“that’s the– wait, what are you getting your phone out for?”
“i need to see this picture!”
“no, no,” he laughs nervously, taking your phone and stuffing it into his pocket. he’s not going to let you look at the promotional thirst trap. “what you need to see is your surprise gift for opening day.”
he takes your hand and leads you to the front counter, where he proudly presents you with a bouquet of peonies.
“reo,” you breathe, cradling the blooms fondly. “they’re beautiful. thank you.”
“i’m glad you like them.” he grins proudly. he’d even wrapped them with a bow (with half a roll of tape underneath the silk ribbon, but baby steps). “i chose peonies because the symbolize good luck and cushioned them with silver dollar eucalyptus from the—”
“reo mikage, if you say they’re from our flower bar…”
“don’t worry, i put money in the register,” he promises with a wink, arms encircling your waist. “i like that, by the way.”
you glance up at him curiously. “like what?”
“you called it our flower bar.”
“well, it is our shop. we’re small business owners.”
“since we’re the owners, i guess that means i can do this–” he gently cups the back of your head, pulling you in for a kiss just as the bells on the front door jingle.
“whoa, how much for that kind of service?”
reo laughs when you jerk back, only to hide your face in his shirt. “shut it, nagi.”

tw: stalking, manipulation, drinking, etc
it was cold tonight, nearly below freezing in shiganshina. you hated the cold, you dreaded being bundled up in a billion layers only to still be shivering. however, it was almost christmas and you were running behind on shopping. fortunately for you, the streets were quiet. nobody wanted to be out in this weather. you weren't afraid of the dark. often times, you embraced the peace that came from walking the street alone at night. despite being a woman, shiganshina was a relatively safe city.
the streets and sidewalks were lined with a thing layer of snow with flurries still falling from the sky. there's a glow of warmth from the street lines as you duck into the nearest store. it's a small boutique that's much warmer than outside. there are mannequins strewn about, various pieces on displays and a small jewelry section in the back. you decide to head to the back of the store and work your way up front.
despite being a small array of options, the jewlery they had was beautiful. you pick up a small white box were two silver earrings in the shape of hearts like. you frown as you slide a finger down the side of the container. they were pretty, but it wasnt something your mother would like and that's who you were here for, after all. you ponder getting them for yourself but your face drops when you remember your budget. you sigh and put them back on the shelf while you put your mother first.
as you set them down, you can't shake the feeling of being watched. no, you were definitely being watched. you slowly turn your head around and an exhale when you don't see anybody with their eyes on you. just a few other women browsing about and the shop owner who's ringing up a tall man's purchase. you shake your head. christmas time was always stressful for you and it's certainly showing now.
after finding a suitable necklace for your mom, you bring it up to the cashier. the cashier is a sweet, older lady who is smiling as hard as she can. you feel bad that she has to be out at work during the cold and make small talk about how you'll need to do your holiday baking tomorrow. she laughs and tells you that she's running behind too, and that she's sure you'll get your cookies done in time.
the walk back to your apartment building isn't so bad despite the howling wind. you remind yourself to be thankful for the snow, knowing the toll global warming would eventually take. on the opposite side of the street, there's a nice black car with tinted windows. you take a moment to wonder who was lucky enough to drive such a luxurious car, as you've seen it around town before. quite often actually. although, you've never seen it on your street before. you didn't live in the nicest part of town and you assume it must be somebody's family member visiting for the holidays. you head into the builiding, unaware of the pair of eyes staring at you from within the car.
unfortunately, the next day isn't any warmer. you're smart this time and decide to go shopping early in the day instead of having to brave the cold, harsh night. you drive to the nearest grocery store; your kitchen was tragically empty and lacking all of the ingredients needed to make your famous christmas cookies.
in the baking aisle of the store, you stare at the plethora of options that could either make or break your dessert. you grab a bag of chocolate chips and peanut butter chips. you spin on your heel, ready to move farther down the aisle. classically, you bump right into somebody and unfortunately the carton of eggs you had tucked under your arm before coming to this aisle heads straight to the ground. the lid pops open and eggs fall out, cracking on the ground. ultimately, they crack and the yolks splatter onto your shoes and up your paint leg a little. you let out a gasp and look up into the eyes of a handsome stranger.
his hazel eyes widen as he looks at splattered eggs on your clothing. "i'm so sorry, i didn't see you there." he looks for a way to help you but he's failing.
"it's fine," you sigh. "it's christmas time and we're all in a rush. plus, i'm a little clumsy." you blush as you feel his eyes give you a once over. you clear your throat and his eyes come back up to land on yours.
"i'm the clumsy one this time. i really am sorry. could i at least pay for your stuff?" he tilts his head. you realize just how tall he is as he looms over you, waiting for an answer.
"no, that's alright, really. it's my fault, i told you i'm clumsy. stuff like this happens to me alot." you admit, turning more red by the second. he laughs and rubs the back of his neck. his laugh is deep and hearty.
"oh, c'mon, how else are those cookies going to get made?"
"how did you know i was going to make cookies?" you ask, raising a brow at him. he clears his throat and points at the bags in your arms.
"you're in the baking aisle, after all. eggs and chocolate chips are also two of the most important things when it comes to cookies." he laughs and you feel embarrassed at your stupid question. obviously he knew you were going to be baking, it's that time of year and you are holding the ingredients for them. you laugh with him and choose to accept his generosity, appreciating not having to spend your own money, especially since it was a little tight right now.
after picking out a new carton of eggs, you and the handsome stranger head to the check out line. "my names jean, by the way." he says as he hands the clerk his card. he looks down at you.
"i'm (y/n)." you tell him. he nods his head. he hands you the plastic bag filled with your now paid for groceries. you two walk out of the store together when all of a sudden, he stops you.
"this might be a little cliche and a little too fast, but would you like to go to dinner with me tomorrow? just feel really bad 'bout the eggs 'n all." he shrugs as he makes sure his joke lands.
you know what, what the hell?
"sure, jean."
after exchanging numbers, you two head off in your own separate directions. back at your apartment, the fancy car is still there, just in a slightly different position. you think about how nice it must be to have family come to visit as you head inside.
tomorrow night comes quicker than expected. you had knots in your stomach all morning and you find them still lingering into the evening. you take your time getting ready for your date with jean and you can't shake the feeling of anxiety nestling into your chest.
later on, you park your car at the restaurant jean had texted you to meet him at. it's a high end restaurant and you're relieved you chose to wear one of your nicest dresses and an overcoat. as you make your way to the front door, you see that same black car, tucked neatly into one of the back parking spots. you shake your head as you head into the restaurant.
jean is dressed to the nines. if you thought he was handsome yesterday, you thought he fucking looked deadly tonight. if looks could kill.
jean smiles as you take a seat across from him. you give him a shy smile as you watch him take in your appearance. there's a glimmer of hunger in his eyes that makes you want to sink into your seat. you're self conscious as his eyes devour you but his words come out so calmly. "you look really good."
"thank you." quiet are the words that manage to come from your lips.
you spend the evening making talk of all sort of topics ranging from the weather to the casual, heated arguments about aliens and if they existed or not. you really enjoy your time, finding it n yourself to indulge in a bottle of wine. jean offers to pay for the entire meal as your plates becomes empty. you laugh and make a joke about how rich he must be. he just chuckles in return.
you start to realize just how drunk you are. the heat in your cheeks is radiating and you feel like you're vibrating, just a little. jean hasn't taken his eyes off you once.
"before you go," he starts. he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small, white box. "i got you something. now, i know we just officially met but i couldn't help myself."
the words go right over your head as you reach across the table for the little container. you take the lid off and gasp. the pair of little, silver hearts from the store the other night. you become a stuttering mess. "h-how did you.."
your brain begins to move a thousand miles a minute, flashing different pictures your eyes have collected the last few days. it's the black car you've seen all over town. the tall man in the boutique. the black car parked on your street. the feeling of being watched. the cookies. the earrings. the car in a different position.
your words fall out in a whisper as you drop the box onto the table. "you..." jean tilts his head and smirks. he can see the realization in your eyes and the hunger in his grows. you feel helpless in this crowded restaurant, not wanting to make a scene. he watches your rosy cheeks turn pale.
"me? what about me, (y/n)?" his words are condescending.
"you've been watching me. stalking me." you hiss under your breath, hoping it comes out as confident but jean picks up on the shakiness on your voice.
"hmm..? what was that?" you can see the thrill he's getting. you don't answer him. you reach to where you set your phone on the table at the beginning of the date. it isn't there. “oh, my silly (y/n.) you've drank a whole bottle of wine. just however will you get home?"

Age gap but everything legal, he cooks for her, she falls in love with his food! and the excellent sex with him (played with it a bit, hope you'll like it anon :)
***
Before we start this story we have to make one thing clear.
Y/N was not a silly teenage rom-com heroine.
Did she watch them? Yes. Did she read them? Yes, absolutely.
But only for the funsies.
It was not like the “To all the boys I’ve ever loved” plotline.
Not like she was only living the fantasy inside her head, too scared to act on her own feelings.
It was not – god forbid – like the After plotline and Y/N was not the good girl focused only on her school stuff not wanting to have anything to do with the bad boys and boys at all.
No way in hell.
She had her own amount of love drama and with the slightly wild character she was more than ready for a new chapter in her life.
College.
Parties, boys, skipping classes and making out in the toilets, sneaking under the professors’ nose.
And now, ladies and gentlemen, let’s talk reality.
She was a nice girl. A kind spirit. A dreamer.
With a vision, sharp tongue and good priorities.
Not a pushover but also not the most popular. Not the sharpest crayon in the box, but street smart. If you asked Y/N Y/L/N how she classified herself she would probably answer in the middle. She could get lost inside her own head trying way too hard to figure things out instead of just letting it unravel and go with a flow. Dead set on putting some sort of label on herself to find out where she belongs. Which was still  bound to happen.
She has just moved to the new city to college and what was better way to get acquainted with the surroundings and fellow students than –
- having a little trip? (I’m pretty sure you thought party, huh?)
In her defence – she tried partying, but seeing her college friends drunk dancing and throwing up because they actually wanted to let loose and have a big opening of the year was a bit too much. Therefore, she grabbed her girls, completely ignored their whining about ruining the mood and baptized as Y/N, the destroyer, dragged them out into the city.
That’s how they found this little nice restaurant in the suburbs. Nothing too fancy nor too expensive for a students’ budget but good enough for a group of young adult women who just started living (almost) on their own.
It was nice to have a ladies’ night. At least until the door to the restaurant opened and a representative of the opposite sex entered causing all the females to raise their gazes. A little rascal definitely noticed the sudden commotion in the henhouse cause he shot them a teasing gaze and winked in a flirtatious manner before heading towards the counter smiling widely at the other man standing there.
“Is he gay?” Y/N asked, barely holding back a chuckle, while observing the whole scene
“Who?”
“That guy who just entered!”
“What?” her friends laughed  collectively “Dean Winchester being gay? Damn Y/N. He had more girls in his bed in last two months than any of us will have in our whole life!”
“Are you a lesbian then, f/n?”
“What?”
“You said he had more girls than any of us-“
“oh shut it! Slip of the tongue, you know what I mean!”
“so not gay?”
“definitely.”
“who’s the other one then?” Y/N took a sip of her drink pointing out behind her back.
“He?”
“yes he! Do you see any other good looking guys around?”
“That’s Sam.” f/n replied and went quiet teasing Y/N on absolute purpose.
“Care to elaborate or are you too busy foaming at the mouth while checking out that Dean guy?”
“Can you blame me? Damn, have you seen his-?”
“f/n!”
“face! Have you seen his face?” Y/N rolled her eyes in frustration. “they are brothers. Obviously. Sam’s a chef and Dean ... well, I am not sure what he does for a living but I’m all up for the bad boy style and attitude.”
 “dare I ask?”
“you better not. I see that little blush on your face so enjoy your little teenage rom-com moment.” f/n laughed sipping her drink though the straw purposefully making it loud to get the man’s attention and be the eyecatcher on Y/N’s behalf.
“stop it!” Y/N shushed suddenly feeling eyes on her back, almost burning the hole and – ironically – do making her blush.
“and what if I don’t?”
“you’re crazy!”
“and you’re too shy for your own good. Come one, live a little. Have a hot, steamy romance. Free yourself! Burn the bra!”
“What?”
“It’s a figure of speech!”
“I know what it means!” Y/N laughed and shook her head at her friend’s stupidity. However, instead of leaving or making  a scene she just raised her own glass in a celebratory gesture “cheers!”
And now – tell me, in your honest opinion, don’t you think that few  young woman in an almost empty restaurant at the very late hour, laughing and acting the way young carefree girls should, would get some looks, even if covert?
***
Once the academic year got off the ground the time seemed to pass in an accelerated speed. Before anyone noticed the beginning of October turned into November and then everyone started slowly thinking about actual work and getting some work as a source of income.
Y/N was no exception to this rule. Between mingling, being a  socially engaged person, going out with friends, studying, preparing for exams, finding little time for her hobbies and currently fighting for an internship, her life was simply crazy.
So she wandered around the city alone to get at least a bit of peace of mind. Not having any specific destination in mind, just letting her feet lead her to whatever place she might find herself in. Just being and floating in space, allowing her imagination and creativity run free, unrestrained by a rigid schedule.
The old bookshop looking like it was taken straight from the Harry Potter universe might have been a spot where she’s been spending most of her time, to such extend that the owner learned her name. moreover, she even started helping him in running the business which was quite good practice given the fact she was studying business and economics. And for one more reason too.
***
“I’m here, sorry for being late! Bus was delayed due to the weather and –“ she walked through the door shaking of the snow not realising that there was a client present and Bobby was nowhere to be found. That meant she was supposed to serve the man standing by the counter, whose face she could not see at the moment. “Morning sir. What can I help you with?” swiftly she hung her damp coat and hat on the hanger and approached him. “Sam?” the name escaped her before she bit her tongue.
“Hi. Do I know you?” the man frowned in confusion, but it was not a confused expression of someone offended by being called by his given name, rather a sympathetic question of someone trying hard to refresh his memory.
“No.” she shook her head with a smile of embarrassment “no you don’t, not really. But my friend got eyes for your brother, you should warn him about a feisty female sharpening her claws.”
“I am pretty sure Dean can handle- wait, you’re that girl from the restaurant.”
“Good memory. Surprisingly good, actually.” She reached her hand towards him “I’m Y/N Y/L/N. It’s only fair to tell you my name since I already know yours.”
“Nice to meet youY/N. You work here?”
“More like volunteer. Full time student, part time bookseller. Doesn’t seem like a match made in heaven, does it?”
“Well, I bet you wouldn’t expect to see a chef searching for a book, will you?”
“I’m not judgmental.” She shrugged taking a look at the pile of volumes in his hands “but choosing modern sci-fi crime and mythology books is a bit surprising. For a guy in general.”
“It’s just side interest. And actually I was hoping Bobby would find something that would be more complex than a manifestation of the author's exuberant and non-realistic imagination”
“Wow, now that’s the wording.”
“for a chef?” Sam smirked.
“For a person. Anyone else would just say the book was fucked up.”
“Thought you weren’t judgmental?”
“I wasn’t.” Y/N shrugged and grinned at him “till you said that you’re pretty much looking for fantasy book with no fantasy in it.”
“Then why do I get the feeling you know perfectly where to find one?”
“Challenge accepted Mr. Winchester.”

Pointing Out the Historical Inaccuracies (and Some Accuracies) of Ridley Scott's Napoleon 🤓
Tumblr media
The only interesting parts of this film are the costumes, and maybe one or two music tracks. The rest of the movie is just awful. The story can hardly be called a story. It's just miscellaneous boring scenes duct taped together. None of the characters are developed beyond a single trait, if that. A period this broad shouldn't have been crammed into a movie this short. I honestly wouldn't have disliked the historical inaccuracy so much if it had been sacrificed for the sake of a good narrative, but this is bad. Even if you don't know about the era enough to nitpick it, I wouldn't recommend this film to anyone.
Tumblr media
TL;DR go watch Waterloo or The Duelists instead.
Accurate Historical Details
There were some minor details that made me perk up like, "Ah, yes! It did happen like that!" The rest of the movie is so inaccurate that these details stuck out.
Napoleon tugged on peoples' ears as a sign of affection. You see this in the movie with Tallyrand and Josephine. He also did this a lot with his soldiers, which we don't see in the film. In fact, he doesn't interact with his soldiers much at all in the film.
The French fired a 101-cannon salute after Napoleon's first son was born.
Napoleon famously bumbled at the Coup of 18 Brumoire, and his brother Lucien had to step in to direct the French grenadiers.
It's contested whether or not Robespierre actually shot himself in the jaw, but I think at this point it's mostly accepted as truth? In any case, someone screwed up his jaw before he was arrested.
The British loved publishing political cartoons about Napoleon, including cartoons of him being cucked.
Joséphine did actually meet Tsar Alexander shortly before her death. I didn't know about this one and was happy to learn something new.
The depictions of line and square formations were okay.
Historical Inaccuracies
This is, in spite of its budget, one of most historically inaccurate pieces of media I've seen on the era, and on top of that it isn't even good.
There is so much historical context omitted from this film that I feel like anyone who doesn't have an interest in the time period will have NO idea what's going on. You are never really given the how and why of history other than "the Europeans are fighting and also Napoleon is there."
The overall characterization of Napoleon is just bizarre. Napoleon was smart, egotistical, ambitious, hot-tempered, and had a magnetic charisma and human charm that inspired a kind of blind loyalty in his soldiers. This is why he was so successful - and so dangerous. Napoleon never feels threatening or sinister in this film. He's just kind of there, slouching and sweating and mumbling under his breath as history unfolds. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure does a better job of depicting Napoleon than whatever the hell is going on here.
Napoleon was not present at the beheading of Marie-Antoinette.
He didn't have his horse shot out from under him at Toulon, and he didn't send gore-spattered cannonballs to his mother, as far as I know.
The movie casts a younger actress to play Joséphine de Beauharnais, but Joséphine was actually older than Napoleon.
I'm pretty sure that Napoleon didn't find and return the sword of Joséphine's ex-husband, although there is a legend stating that he attempted to confiscate it and was persuaded by Joséphine's son to return it.
The French army never shot their cannons at the Pyramids in Egypt. They also didn't loot the Pyramids, although they participated in a lot of heinous looting elsewhere.
Napoleon didn't leave Egypt because he found out he was being cucked by his wife - he'd already known about that for some time. He left Egypt because the campaign was failing and because the political situation in France was becoming untenable.
Jacques-Louis David attended the coronation of Napoleon, but didn't start his studies for the painting during the coronation itself. (At least as far as I know.)
The lake scene during the Battle of Austerlitz is a bit of a legend, but probably not true. The gigantic lake was more likely a series of shallow ponds, if it existed at all.
Napoleon did not lead cavalry charges, and he sure as shit didn't lead cavalry charges at the Battles of Borodino or Waterloo. In fact, Napoleon infamously sat a safe distance away while watching the bloody Battle of Borodino unfold.
Napoleon was not exiled following the Russian campaign. He was exiled after the War of the Sixth Coalition, in 1814.
Joséphine died in 1814, when Napoleon was still at Elba, not in 1815.
Trench warfare and scoped muskets were not used at the Battle of Waterloo.
Napoleon never met the Duke of Wellington.
That's uh. The cut version of my complaints.

okay i have more (critical) barbie thoughts under the cut.
i really did enjoy it overall. it was fun, cheeky, surreal. i loved the experience of watching it in an energetic theater. i even cried a couple times. but i’m baffled at how powerful it was for so many people when it fell so flat for me. honestly, maybe what i’m feeling is just because i’m trans and it didn’t resonate as strongly with my experience of womanhood or masculinity.
i keep coming across people using gloria’s monologue to dismiss criticism by saying “anyone saying barbie isn’t feminist enough are doing the exact thing gloria pointed out! women have to be perfect but it’s just never good enough!” Y’ALL. having issues with a high-budget, corporate funded movie that has the same milquetoast girl-power messaging you’d find in teen mags from the early 2000s… is not the same as oppressing women under patriarchy. you can critique media and still resonate with aspects of it. good grief.
another response i’ve seen to critiques (specifically of gloria’s monologue) is that the movie’s messages are meant for barbie herself! not for the audience! it had to be super tame and generic because otherwise barbie wouldn’t have understood! all those speeches and ideas are aimed solely at barbie who is learning about all of this for the first time! it’s not for you if you already get it! what?????? that’s not how media works and you know it.
also, the idea that it’s meant to be palatable for a “wider audience” so it couldn’t have included intersectionality without losing people. translation: “wider audience” means white suburbia? white men? cishet people? where the most “representation” they can tolerate is a 3 second clip of a voiceless barbie in a wheelchair dancing? or a black president barbie who mostly says one liners and disappears? a wider audience being the same audience every blockbuster is catered towards?
i’m just spit balling here, but i don’t think it would have been impossible to introduce some unironic nuances like:
america’s latinx character experiencing sexism differently from stereotypical barbie?
maybe not using mount rushmore repeatedly to symbolize who’s in power?
avoiding comparing bringing patriarchy to barbieland to indigenous genocide?
a harsher perspective on mattel’s role in all this? where the outcome isn’t just will farrell’s character griping that he doesn’t even want to be in charge, he just wants to be tickled? (wtf was that lmao)
making a more obvious statement that patriarchy isn’t just a symptom of men stumbling across power and relishing it but that it’s rooted in violent white supremacy and capitalism? i’m positive there’s a way to address that without going full blown academic feminist theory mode.
having the black, fat, and disabled characters speak more than 5 collective minutes? (but at least they had screentime at all, right? ✨representation✨)
explicitly queer characters instead of “weird barbie” and allan being coded as the outsiders to an otherwise regimented cishet universe?
but all those ideas are irrelevant, right? because the movie was just SOOO self aware and layered in irony and if i was smart enough and hadn’t missed the point, i’d know the writers were in on it all.

Venus in Capricorn: A Match Made in the Boardroom
Think power suits, meticulous spreadsheets, and strategic partnerships. While Capricorn's Venus might not be the life of the party, it's certainly the mastermind behind a thriving empire. Here's what to expect:
Forget the Fad, Embrace Forever: Building with Brick, not Bling, during Venus in Capricorn
Venus, the planet of love and beauty, takes a pragmatic turn in the austere halls of Capricorn. Forget fleeting trends and flash-in-the-pan ventures – this transit is all about value, stability, and building something that endures. Here's how to ditch the disposable and embrace the durable:
Shifting Sands to Sturdy Ground:
Long-term vision over passing whims: Instead of chasing the latest fad, invest in projects with legs. Think timeless designs, sustainable practices, and products built to last.
Quality over quantity: Ditch the "buy 10, get 1 free" mentality. Opt for well-made, ethically sourced items that stand the test of time and add true value to your life or business.
Brick by brick: Forget get-rich-quick schemes. Focus on building your wealth gradually, through smart investments, consistent effort, and responsible financial planning.
Partnerships with Purpose:
Strength in numbers: Seek alliances that add strategic value, complementary skills, and long-term stability. This isn't a one-night stand, but a marriage of minds and resources.
Mutual respect and shared goals: Align yourself with partners who share your vision for the future and are committed to building something sustainable together.
Win-win collaboration: Forget cutthroat competition. Seek partnerships where everyone benefits, creating a foundation for mutual growth and prosperity.
Investing in the Enduring:
Slow and steady wins the race: Forget the thrill of risky ventures. Choose long-term investments in established businesses, sustainable energy, or real estate that offer secure returns.
Nurturing what matters: Invest in your own skills, knowledge, and expertise. Education, training, and personal development are invaluable assets that yield lasting rewards.
Future-proof your finances: Build a budget that prioritizes financial security, debt reduction, and saving for the long haul. Think retirement plans, emergency funds, and responsible credit management.
Venus in Capricorn isn't about denying yourself, it's about shifting your focus from fleeting pleasures to lasting satisfaction. It's about building a life, a business, and relationships that stand the test of time, brick by well-placed brick. So, forget the fads, embrace the foundations, and watch your world – and your wealth – truly blossom.
Bonus Tip: During this transit, consider incorporating timeless classics, heritage pieces, and durable materials into your work or personal life. Think heirloom furniture, quality craftsmanship, and experiences that create lasting memories.
From Lone Wolf to Power Pack: Forging Strategic Alliances under Venus in Capricorn
Forget the lone wolf mentality – during Venus in Capricorn, collaboration becomes your superpower. Here's how to navigate this transit and turn strategic alliances into your secret weapon for business and personal success:
Strength in Numbers:
Synergy over solo: Identify partners whose skills, resources, and expertise complement yours, creating a force greater than the sum of its parts. Think marketing gurus teaming with tech wizards, or seasoned veterans pairing with innovative upstarts.
Market mastery: Seek alliances that open doors to new markets, expand your customer base, and strengthen your brand reach. Think global partnerships, cross-industry collaborations, or joint ventures that tap into untapped territories.
Sharing the load: Partnerships can help you tackle ambitious projects, share operational costs, and leverage diverse perspectives to overcome challenges. Think resource pooling, joint marketing campaigns, or co-developed products.
Beyond Handshakes:
Shared vision, not just shared profits: Align yourself with partners who not only bring practical value but also share your long-term vision, values, and commitment to ethical practices. Building trust and mutual respect is key.
Clear communication, ironclad agreements: Open and honest communication is vital to avoid misunderstandings and ensure everyone is on the same page. Negotiate fair terms, define roles and responsibilities, and create a win-win partnership agreement.
Mutual growth, not exploitation: Remember, a true partnership is a two-way street. Invest in your partner's success as you expect them to invest in yours. Celebrate shared victories and support each other during challenges.
Examples in Action:
A small eco-friendly clothing brand partners with a large online retailer to reach a wider audience and scale its sustainable production.
A team of experienced consultants collaborates with a team of young, tech-savvy developers to offer cutting-edge solutions to their clients.
Two local businesses in the same neighborhood join forces to host joint events, cross-promote their services, and attract new customers.
Remember, under Venus in Capricorn, strategic alliances are not short-term fixes but long-term investments in your future. Choose your partners wisely, nurture the relationships, and watch your combined forces elevate your business to new heights. By embracing collaboration, you not only achieve shared success but also build a network of valuable connections that can weather any storm.
Bonus Tip: During this transit, actively seek out networking opportunities, attend industry events, and connect with individuals or organizations whose expertise and vision align with yours. You never know where your next power partnership might blossom!
So, step out of your comfort zone, open your arms to collaboration, and watch the magic unfold as you build a thriving empire, not just brick by brick, but hand in hand.
Channel Your Inner Chess Master: Sharpening Your Negotiation Prowess in Venus in Capricorn
Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, might seem an unlikely warrior in the boardroom, but during her sojourn in Capricorn, her charm takes on a strategic edge. Forget impulsive deals and flowery persuasion; this transit is all about mastering the art of negotiation with shrewd calculations and unwavering determination. Ready to transform into a deal-closing powerhouse? Here's your playbook:
Know Your Worth, Inside and Out:
Research and preparation are key: Before entering any negotiation, gather all relevant data, market trends, and competitor analysis. Know your bottom line, your strengths, and the value you bring to the table.
Confidence is your armor: Don't underestimate yourself. Be clear about your goals and objectives, and project an aura of self-assurance and professionalism. A confident negotiator commands respect and commands better deals.
Listen with a hawk's ear: Pay close attention to your counterpart's needs, concerns, and priorities. Active listening allows you to identify leverage points and craft proposals that meet everyone's objectives.
Strategic Maneuvers on the Bargaining Table:
Think long-term: Focus on building mutually beneficial partnerships rather than short-term wins. Think strategic concessions that open doors to future collaborations or long-term contracts.
Patience is a virtue: Don't rush into the first offer. Be prepared to walk away if the deal doesn't align with your goals. This creates an air of power and strengthens your leverage.
The carrot and the stick, masterfully wielded: Combine firmness on key points with creative problem-solving and willingness to find common ground. Offer sweeteners or concessions on less crucial aspects to secure the bigger win.
Mastering the Art of Persuasion:
Facts are your ammunition: Back up your claims with data, reports, and evidence. A logical, data-driven approach resonates with the Capricorn Venus.
Speak with clarity and precision: Avoid emotional appeals or empty promises. Stick to concise, well-supported arguments that leave no room for misinterpretation.
Body language speaks volumes: Maintain eye contact, project confidence through your posture, and avoid fidgeting. Nonverbal cues can build trust and strengthen your negotiating position.
Bonus Tip: Practice your negotiation skills! Role-play scenarios with colleagues, mentors, or even yourself in the mirror. The more comfortable you are in the art of the deal, the easier it will be to secure those all-important victories.
Remember, under Venus in Capricorn, negotiation is not a battle but a chess game. Think strategically, play calculated moves, and always keep your ultimate goals in mind. By channeling your inner chess master, you can transform negotiations from stressful encounters into opportunities for mutual growth and solidify your reputation as a shrewd and successful deal-maker.
So, step into the negotiation arena with confidence, wield your skills like a seasoned strategist, and watch as you secure those winning deals that propel your business, finances, and even personal relationships to new heights.
Beyond Bling: Redefining Luxury in the Era of Venus in Capricorn
Forget fleeting trends and ostentatious displays – Venus, the planet of love and beauty, takes on a decidedly sophisticated and sustainable aura during her sojourn in Capricorn. Indulgence gets a serious upgrade, shifting from empty extravagance to lasting investments, meaningful experiences, and timeless treasures. Here's how to navigate this transit and discover a richer, more fulfilling form of luxury:
From Flash to Substance:
Heirlooms over trinkets: Invest in quality pieces built to last, crafted with ethical practices, and designed to become treasured family heirlooms. Think handcrafted furniture, well-made clothing, or art passed down through generations.
Experiences that resonate: Prioritize adventures and journeys that leave a lasting mark on your soul, not just your Instagram feed. Think learning a new skill, volunteering your time, or immersing yourself in a different culture.
Sustainable indulgence: Pamper yourself with products and services that reflect your values, like organic spa treatments, ethically sourced clothing, or supporting local artisans. Conscious indulgence feels better and lasts longer.
Investing in Your World:
Knowledge is the ultimate luxury: Invest in personal and professional development. Master a new skill, pursue further education, or attend insightful workshops that enrich your mind and expand your horizons.
Building a legacy, not an empire: Think beyond accumulating material possessions. Focus on creating a life filled with meaningful relationships, strong support networks, and positive contributions to your community.
Time, the most precious treasure: Prioritize experiences that create lasting memories and strengthen bonds. Spend quality time with loved ones, explore hidden corners of the world, or simply savor the quiet moments of life.
Beyond the Material:
Curate, don't accumulate: Surround yourself with objects that hold personal meaning, evoke inspiration, and bring you joy. Let go of clutter and embrace minimalism, creating a space that reflects your values and enhances your well-being.
Master the art of slow living: Appreciate the finer things in life, savor each moment, and resist the urge to rush through experiences. Slow living allows you to fully immerse yourself in the present and truly embrace the luxury of time.
Gratitude is the golden thread: Cultivate an attitude of gratitude for all the blessings in your life, big and small. Appreciation enhances the value of your experiences and helps you find joy in the ordinary.
Remember, under Venus in Capricorn, luxury is not about flaunting or chasing fleeting trends. It's about investing in things that bring lasting value, creating experiences that nourish your soul, and nurturing a life filled with substance and meaning. By cultivating this mindful approach to indulgence, you'll discover a richer, more fulfilling form of luxury that transcends the material and leaves a lasting legacy of joy and fulfillment.
Bonus Tip: During this transit, consider decluttering your life and donating possessions you no longer need. Clearing space for the truly meaningful makes room for experiences and treasures that enrich your life in ways that last.
So, embrace the shift towards meaningful indulgence, invest in experiences that resonate, and surround yourself with things that bring lasting joy. As Venus shines in Capricorn, discover a whole new level of luxury, one that nourishes your soul, enriches your world, and leaves a trail of timeless beauty in its wake.
Beyond Butterflies: Building Enduring Love under Venus in Capricorn
Forget whirlwind romances and impulsive declarations – Venus, the planet of love and beauty, takes on a practical, future-oriented guise during her stay in Capricorn. While sparks might fly and hearts might flutter, romantic pursuits are guided by long-term vision, shared goals, and a commitment to building something that endures. Here's how to navigate this transit and find love that stands the test of time:
Beyond the Initial Sparks:
Slow burn over fireworks: Don't rush into grand pronouncements or hasty commitments. Instead, take your time, get to know each other on a deeper level, and let feelings develop organically.
Shared values, not just shared smiles: Look for partners who align with your core values, life goals, and aspirations. Compatibility goes beyond surface compatibility; seek someone who shares your vision for the future.
Building trust brick by brick: Actions speak louder than words. Demonstrate consistency, reliability, and unwavering support. Trust, like strong foundations, takes time and effort to build.
Love with Substance:
Partners in ambition: Seek someone who inspires you to be your best self and supports your professional and personal aspirations. Think power couples who build empires together, not sidekicks holding handbags.
Mutual respect and admiration: Appreciate each other's strengths, talents, and individual journeys. A successful partnership is not about competition but about celebrating each other's successes.
Open communication, built on honesty: Maintain clear and honest communication, even when challenging conversations arise. Trustworthy communication builds a foundation for navigating life's inevitable ups and downs together.
Beyond the Honeymoon Phase:
Commitment built on shared dreams: True commitment comes from a shared vision for the future, not just temporary infatuation. Discuss long-term goals, create shared plans, and build a life together brick by well-placed brick.
Weathering storms as a team: Life throws curveballs. Look for a partner who stands by you, offers unwavering support, and celebrates your victories just as readily as they comfort you in times of adversity.
Nurturing the flame, not just fanning it: Long-term love requires effort. Continuously invest in your relationship, prioritize quality time, and keep the romance alive with thoughtful gestures and shared experiences.
Bonus Tip: During this transit, focus on personal growth and building a fulfilling life for yourself. When you radiate stability, self-sufficiency, and clear goals, you attract partners who seek the same qualities in a relationship.
Remember, under Venus in Capricorn, love is not a whirlwind adventure but a deliberate journey shared with a compatible partner. This is a time to prioritize long-term compatibility, build a foundation of trust and shared goals, and nurture a love that grows stronger with each passing season. By embracing this mindful approach to romance, you can create a relationship that weathers life's storms, fuels your ambitions, and ultimately, becomes a source of enduring joy and fulfillment.
So, open your heart to connection, seek meaningful connections, and invest in building a love that stands the test of time. Remember, true love stories are not written overnight, but crafted with care, nurtured with commitment, and built to last under the watchful eye of Venus in Capricorn.

Let's delve into the exciting world of profitable ventures under Venus in Capricorn:

Solid foundations over fleeting fads: Ditch risky ventures and speculative schemes. Prioritize established businesses with proven track records, strong financials, and long-term growth potential. Think blue-chip companies, reputable investment funds, or well-maintained rental properties.
Bricks and mortar with a modern twist: Real estate can be a lucrative investment during this transit, but consider eco-friendly options or properties with future-proof upgrades. Think energy-efficient buildings, sustainable communities, or land with potential for renewable energy development.
Green is the new gold: Sustainable ventures are not just good for the planet, they're also smart financial decisions. Invest in clean technology, renewable energy initiatives, or socially responsible companies that prioritize ethical practices and environmental impact.
Planting with Precision:
Do your research, due diligence is your friend: Venus in Capricorn demands thorough research and careful analysis before any investment. Understand the market, evaluate risks and potential returns, and consult with financial advisors if needed.
Patience is a virtue: Don't expect overnight riches. Successful long-term investments require patience, discipline, and a willingness to ride out market fluctuations. Remember, slow and steady wins the race.
Diversification is your shield: Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Spread your investments across different sectors, asset classes, and geographical locations to minimize risk and maximize potential returns.
Beyond the Bottom Line:
Invest in your passions: While financial growth is important, aligning your investments with your values can bring additional satisfaction. Support companies that resonate with your ethical beliefs, environmental concerns, or social causes you champion.
Community-building through investments: Consider investing in local businesses, community projects, or social enterprises that uplift your neighborhood and create a sustainable future for all. Your financial success can be a catalyst for positive change.
Sustainable prosperity for generations to come: Think beyond your own immediate needs. Choose investments that contribute to a healthier planet, fairer society, and brighter future for future generations. Leave a legacy of responsible wealth and lasting impact.
Bonus Tip: During this transit, consider seeking financial advice from professionals who specialize in sustainable and ethical investments. They can help you align your financial goals with your values and make informed decisions that benefit both your wallet and the world.
Remember, under Venus in Capricorn, smart investments are not just about securing your financial future, they're about building a legacy of prosperity, sustainability, and positive impact. By planting your seeds wisely, nurturing them with patience, and choosing ventures that resonate with your values, you can reap the rewards of a truly fulfilling financial journey. So, channel your inner financial architect, invest in the future you envision, and watch your portfolio blossom into a garden of abundance and purpose.
From Burden to Freedom: Conquering Debt under Venus in Capricorn
Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, might seem an unlikely debt collector, but during her sojourn in Capricorn, she dons a practical helmet and picks up a financial spreadsheet. This transit is all about taking control of your finances, tackling debt with determination, and building a foundation of financial security for a brighter future. Let's dive into the world of debt reduction under the watchful eye of Venus in Capricorn:
Facing the Numbers with Courage:
Acknowledge the elephant in the room: Don't shy away from confronting your debt. Face the numbers head-on, understand your current financial situation, and create a clear picture of the mountain you need to climb.
Prioritize ruthless efficiency: Not all debts are created equal. Focus on tackling high-interest loans first, where even small payments can make a significant dent. Develop a repayment strategy that takes advantage of compounding interest and minimizes overall costs.
Renegotiate with strength and strategy: Don't be afraid to renegotiate loan terms for better rates or repayment schedules. Arm yourself with market research and negotiation skills, and approach your creditors with confidence and clarity.
Budgeting: Your Weapon of Choice:
Track every penny: Implement a detailed budget that tracks your income and expenses meticulously. Every latte and Netflix subscription matters when you're battling debt.
Slash the non-essentials: Identify areas where you can cut back on spending. Be ruthless! Are you subscribed to services you never use? Can you cook more meals at home? Every small sacrifice adds up.
Embrace delayed gratification: Learn to live within your means, even if it means saying no to some immediate desires. Prioritize debt reduction over instant gratification, knowing that financial freedom awaits on the other side.
Building a Wall of Financial Security:
Automate your progress: Set up automatic bill payments and debt repayments to avoid missed payments and late fees. Discipline your finances, make saving and debt reduction a seamless part of your routine.
Celebrate milestones, not just the finish line: Acknowledge your progress along the way. Every debt paid off is a victory. Reward yourself for small milestones, keeping yourself motivated and reminding yourself of the amazing journey you're on.
Invest in your future self: As you free yourself from debt, start building an emergency fund and invest in your long-term financial goals. Remember, financial security is not just about eliminating debt, it's about building a stable and prosperous future.
Bonus Tip: During this transit, consider seeking financial counseling or debt management services if needed. Professional guidance can help you create a personalized debt repayment plan, negotiate with creditors, and stay on track towards financial freedom.

Every purchase becomes an investment, a deliberate step towards building a life of quality, value, and long-term satisfaction. Let's navigate this transit and transform your spending habits into a ladder towards personal and financial fulfillment:
From Impulse to Intention:
Mindset shift: Every purchase carries weight. Ask yourself, "Is this an investment in my well-being, my goals, or my future?" Prioritize items that contribute to your personal growth, professional aspirations, or long-term needs.
Banish the impulse buy: Resist the siren call of instant gratification. Give yourself time to consider purchases, compare options, and avoid emotional or peer-pressure-driven decisions.
Needs trump wants: Differentiate between essential needs and fleeting desires. Invest in well-made, durable items that serve a purpose and stand the test of time. Think quality tools, timeless classics, or experiences that enrich your life in lasting ways.
Quality over Quantity:
Buy less, choose better: Embrace minimalism and focus on acquiring fewer, high-quality items that reflect your values and aesthetic. Invest in craftsmanship, ethical sourcing, and sustainable materials that elevate your life without overloading it.
Experience over extravagance: Prioritize experiences that create lasting memories and personal growth over fleeting material possessions. Invest in learning new skills, traveling to new places, or fostering meaningful connections.
Support values with your wallet: Align your spending with your ethical and environmental values. Choose sustainable brands, support local businesses, and invest in products that reflect your commitment to a better future.
Building Financial Muscles:
Budgeting is your roadmap: Create and stick to a realistic budget that tracks your income and expenses meticulously. Allocate funds efficiently, prioritize your needs, and leave little room for impulsive spending.
Embrace delayed gratification: Learn to wait and plan for what you desire. Saving for larger purchases builds discipline, allows you to gather information, and prevents the pitfalls of rushed decisions.
Track, analyze, and adapt: Monitor your spending patterns, identify areas for improvement, and adjust your budget as needed. Be flexible and learn from your financial journey, constantly working towards smarter spending habits.
Bonus Tip: During this transit, consider implementing a "cooling off period" before making significant purchases. Take time to research, compare options, and sleep on it before committing. Ah, come on!?!
TWO
Wolf Bete sat very uncomfortably, his/her nude form draped and wrapped in a lab coat. Before him/her, a young man was going through a presentation using a wall mounted smart monitor. Wolf's brain swam with facts and images.
Jaune: So that's how the process for Quality Assurance testing. Any questions Wolfie?
Wolf Bete: Ah... um... what?
Jaune: (Rubs the back of his neck with his left hand) I know it's a lot to have dumped on you at one time, and I wish we had more time, but I'm on a time crunch here.
Wolf Bete: Huh? I thought I was finished under budget and on time?
Jaune: This deadline has nothing to do with your production. The BoD has assigned me another task, and I only have a few weeks to get ready for it. So I'm under the gun to get you up to speed before I have to shut the department down.
Wolf Bete: Shut down? (Looks about, seeing several other bio-pods in the process of building bodies) What about... them?
Jaune: I'm not scrapping any of my projects... they'll all be put into a hibernation cycle. Anyway, do you have any questions about the Quality Assurance Test?
Wolf Bete: So what am I doing again? It's a fight, right?
Jaune: Part of it is.
Wolf Bete: Part?
Jaune: The other part, that happens before the combat test, is a Q&A session.
Wolf Bete: Q&A?
Jaune: Questions and Answers.
Wolf Bete: Why?
Jaune: Ah... no idea. The BoD just likes to talk to my creations before watching them fight.
Wolf Bete: What type of things will they ask?
Jaune: Your favourite movie. Which foot you step into the shower with first. Favourite colour, favourite food. Nicknames, what are your current career goals. Stuff like that.
Wolf Bete: Career goals? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was created to fight huntsmen and huntresses, right?
Jaune: Don't forget feral Grimm and the creations of other organizations when need arises.
Wolf Bete: Feral Grimm?
Jaune: Yes.
Wolf Bete: What is that?
Jaune: Feral Grimm are the most aggressive forms of the grimm. They are wild. They form naturally from grimm pits and seek just to destroy, as opposed to Domesticated grimm, and designer grimm.
Wolf Bete: (Tilts his/her head to the side in confusion) Domesticated?
Jaune: Domesticated grimm are grimm, usually of the Beowulf species though there are a few Ursa, that have been trained to follow commands. Much like a dog. They show greater amounts of intelligence than feral grimm, but aside from very specific uses, they can not be expected to follow complicated plans or make judgment calls.
Wolf Bete: Okay, and Designer Grimm?
Jaune: That's you and similar constructs I have made. You were designed, created from the ground up to be autonomous, intelligent and... loyal.
Wolf Bete: Loyal?
Jaune: I started with your brain. You are incapable of turning against us.
Wolf Bete: I'm not feeling real comfortable about that fact.
Jaune: Don't worry about it.
Wolf Bete: Don't WORRY about it?
Jaune: It's not that big of a deal. I mean, so you won't attack us or try to escape. That doesn't stop you from defending yourself if attacked, or making a choice in regard to your own survival.
Wolf Bete: So... this combat test.
Jaune: You'll be tasked with defeating a feral grimm.
Wolf Bete: And if I win, I can then go shred some huntsmen apart?
Jaune: Maybe, though out right killing huntsmen and huntresses is against policy. They do serve a purpose in helping to keep feral grimm numbers down.
Wolf Bete: What? I was created to fight huntsmen and huntresses, and I'm NOT allowed to rip them apart? What's the point of me, then?
Jaune: To defeat them. To stop them from interfering with our plans, and activities.
Wolf Bete: Which means I rip them apart, right?
Jaune: No.
Wolf Bete: No?
Jaune: No, you render them incapable of interfering by depletion of their aura, knocking them unconscious, or disabling them in some fashion.
Wolf Bete: That is so not cool.
Jaune: That's the company policy. We want to dominate the world, not destroy it.
Wolf Bete: But...
Jaune: If you have real concerns about that policy, or require more information, I can arrange for you to speak to Executive Azalea Arc. She's in charge of Policy and Procedures.
Wolf Bete: Okay... okay, none of this makes much sense, and I'm STILL waiting for some clothes!
Jaune: They're on their way, Wolfie. I don't have anything that will fit you... plus... SHE wanted to see you.
Wolf Bete: She?
Jaune: Saphron... CEO of the Inner Circle.
Wolf Bete: Why?
Jaune: (Rubs the back of his neck) Well... I used some of her genetic material in combination with grimm essence to create you, so... you could be considered... in a convoluted way... her son... er, I mean... her daughter.
Wolf Bete: You had it right the first time!
Jaune: Anyway, she should be here in a couple of hours, and the testing won't happen until tomorrow or the day after. So, I know it's pretty soon, but how is the body feeling? No weird issues? Peeing problems? Strange aches or pains?
Wolf Bete: This body feels WRONG! I was supposed to be a guy! How the hell should I know if I'm peeing properly?
Jaune: Well, I can run a patch or two in a couple of weeks to help ease the body issues.
Wolf Bete: Patches? What am I a video game now? Wait, how do I know about video games?
Jaune: When I formed your brain, I gave you some memories and points of reference to make integration easier.
Wolf Bete: Really? And where did those come from?
Jaune: Well... um... I... um...
Wolf Bete: Did they come from you?
Jaune: Maybe?
Wolf Bete: What did you do to me?
Jaune: Nothing bad! Just some points of reference so you could understand things, and relate to the outside world!
Wolf Bete: Really? Then explain why I'm having thoughts about the Red Huntress... and the desire to grab a tube sock.
Jaune: I... um... I... shit!
Wolf Bete: Seriously? You put your obsession in my head?
Jaune: It's a crush!
Wolf Bete: Dude... what you put in my head... is NOT a crush.
Jaune: I...
Wolf Bete: ...
Jaune: Any other questions?
Wolf Bete: ...
Jaune: Guess not... so... um... I'll just go sit at my desk and silently wait for Saphron to arrive.
Wolf Bete: ...
Jaune: You... just do whatever.
Wolf Bete: ...
