2023 is the year of dream cosplays, I guess ^^

I can write an entire thesis on my love for him, how important he is to me, and why he is the best fictional character of all time (fun fact: Sauron held the no.1 fave character spot for over 20 years until this guy's arc concluded, and then was bumped down to spot no. 2), but we'll be here forever, so instead I'm just going to say how incredibly grateful I will always be to Kishimoto for letting him go.

It's so rare for a character that occupies this kind of role in a narrative to be allowed growth and recovery for his own sake and on his own terms instead of just being killed off or punished, much less be permitted to also achieve his lifelong goals and dreams. His character journey is quite honestly one of the most inspirational and hopeful I've ever seen, and it came to its conclusion during a pretty difficult time in my life when I needed the motivational boost -- I was fully expecting redemption through death at best; I'm still shocked we got what we did -- so it holds a very special place in my heart ♡

Sure! (*´ω`*)

I'd say the music is definitely one of the most important factors to it, so honestly before all else I'd check out some scene artists.

Millionaires, Brokencyde, and Dot Dot Curve are some good crunkcore artists, but if that's not your vibe then there's stuff like Attack Attack!, Snow White's Poison Bite, and I Set My Friends on Fire!

Some starter songs I would suggest are:

"Things that rhyme with orange" - I set my friends on fire

"Hello Fascination" - Breathe Carolina

"Down in the morgue" - Snow White's Poison Bite

"Prom Dress" - Millionaires

If you're looking into the fashion/want to dress that way then I would highly suggest looking in thrift stores/garage sales.

(There's always websites online that sell the clothes but it tends to be less affordable.)

A lot of scene fashion can be created pretty easily, it just generally includes layers and things animal print / bright colors. And a lot of things can be diy'd. (Ex. Using a fork to snag tights or painting a belt to be more colorful)

The hair is also a scene staple but I'm not too elitist about it because I know not everyone's hair is willing to cooperate XD

Most scene kids have their hair dyed but that's not necessary ofc. Generally they have their bangs side swept and hair teased to hell (with a comb basically brushing it backwards to create a bats nest / create volume) and then drowned in hairspray for it to stay.

Hair extensions can also help create that iconic scene look.

But ya (＾ｖ＾) I hope this overly long rant can help ya XD

Got around to styling Wally doll's hair!

It's not perfect, but it works for now. So much tacky glue and hairspray, lol.

But also, wanted to show off some miniatures I've been collecting for the dolls~ I aim to make Wally's armchair soon and some more little outfits for them too.

Eventually, I want to make a Home doll house like i drew some time ago.

I watched a FroggyStuff video on how to make a dollhouse out of poster board, so I feel that that would be a lightweight and affordable option. I also have to figure out how to flip the windows, because the way I designed it the first time makes it to where you split home down the middle of his face. Don't want that xD

okay but tell me more about your process with soft pastels because i love working with them but i have no technique no understanding no nothing and i never like how what i do turns out. what surfaces do you draw on? is there a way to seal your work? also you hooked me even harder on using soft pastels by drawing an eye because i always scribble and doodle eyes! XD

Thanks! I'm far from an expert; I tend to use chalk pastels mostly for quick work, often painting ideas, because you can get down a lot of color very quickly.

Chalk pastels are one of those things you just learn by doing. They blend beautifully, but because they're so dusty the blending causes the colors to dull, so you want to layer your colors--put color down, blend, put more color on top, and continue as needed. You can use a paint brush to get more precision with your blending, or even to apply the chalk. It's almost like working with eyeshadow.

I often draw on canvas, sometimes already painted with acrylic, sometimes with bare gesso. I do paper also (newsprint, often, because again, usually just rough ideas). You can seal and protect it with pastel fixatives, or, in a pinch, you can use hairspray. It's not as good but if you're just getting started it's better than nothing.

Cosplay Progress, Wigs, adjusting, plans

So this is kind of everything right now as some cons are approaching I am planning to do some things!

First of all I want to upgrade Allen's battle gear a bit and make another Innocence Glove for the prisoner outfit, but both is at planning stage for now.

The boots for the 3rd Uniform arrived <3 ft lil Shoe/Boot set up.

At this point I think I own more boots for cosplay than I have shoes/boots for my daily life XD

My new wigs came in, one will be the default for the 3rd Uniform and the other is actually the wig for Clown!Allen. Both need work.

First of all it's Link's turn again, I had to adjust the pants as they are way too long for me.

Then the wig... the color is beautiful and the base is really nice.

Out of the parcel vs brushed out.

I am still super new into actual wig styling other than just cutting + hairspray. This would have been my wig base in earlier days but ... I have a crimping iron now and I will use it!

Half crimped vs. fully crimped. As you can see it's less wavy now and doesn't look as shiny anymore, it has a better grip and doesn't tangle as fast.

Added the braid for Link, I might redo that more than once depending on how it does on Cons.

Some super quick tests as Link as it was super hot as I worked on the wig:

Same procedure here. Base wig, crimping, cutting and styling. I am quite satisfied how it turned out, I am getting used how to crimp. I hope I can earn enough skill to retry on doing hairlines soon.

Chapter 1: Marcy standing over the people of Wartwood, torch in one hand and hairspray in the other just scaring everyone in chapter 1.

2: Marcy and Sprig becoming friends under the roots of the dead tree.

5: Marcy and Polly working on their little bucket cart together.

6: Marcy maniacally laughing as she comprehended the full scope of what the zapapedles could accomplish. Also the pokemon catching scene. Also Marcy Polly and Sprig all gaming together in the living room.

8: Yunan looking down on Sasha after the big snake fight and Sasha is exhausted.

10: Marcy tearing up as she realizes that the Plantars were formally asking her to join their family. Anything from that morning. Sprig and Polly bringing her breakfast in bed couch. Marcy gripping onto the family shrub while her family hugged her. Also Hop Pop stepping in and telling Marcy she had to stop and Marcy letting slip that she already saw the Plantars as family. God chapters 10-12 were an absolute joy to write.

11: Marcy saying goodbye to the Plantars at the end of the chapter.

12: So many things. World Hoppers planning the heist while in the sewers. Marcy and Sprig hugging each other after reuniting in her cell room. Everything that happens on the wall. Hop Pop stopping by the side of the road to help clean up Marcy and comfort her.

14: Marcy and Anne reuniting, Anne and Sprig having a moment after Marcy almost falls off. Marcy's gay panic over Anne specifically when Anne starts snuggling into Marcy while asleep.

15: Marcy comforting Anne after Anne gets caught.

16: Marcy and Anne down in the glow stone caverns, everything in that scene.

17: Marcy standing up for Anne against the people of Wartwood. Marcy and Anne having a fun snow day together, going down the sled, snowball fight, all of it was very fluffy and I like it a lot. Anne comforting Marcy after she opens up to her about trajectory, making good on her promise to be rely on her more.

18: Anne realizing she likes Marcy while she is infodumping. I think its a very cute culmination of the last four chapters. Going from tuning out Marcy's ramblings to having it being a component to her realizing her own feelings. Marcy's incense thrower invention! I really liked the concept of Marcy kicking open the door to the spa to Anne's rescue.

19: Marcy getting flustered in the aftermath of coming out to her family. Just tryin to get back control on the conversation after it had totally left the rails. Obviously Anne confessing to Marcy and putting her worries to rest. Anne baiting Hop Pop into taking the box and then confronting him about it. It's one of those moments that I really like as a consequence of the swap AU. Where Anne and Hop Pop don't have that close relationship with one another.

20: The whole festival scene with the World Hoppers exploring the games and stuff. Especially the dunking tank with Anne and Marcy up themselves. There's just a great vibe all through here. Anne and Marcy playing Puzzle Fighters and Anne kissing kissing Marcy on the cheek to distract her long enough to win, all while the world hoppers have rallied around Anne. Anne and Marcy enjoying the fireworks and kissing.

21: Honestly any moment from this chapter is great. The town standing up for Hop Pop The Plantars packing up their home and having to flee. Big hug between the trio just before Sasha insists on her plan. Anne and Sasha fighting against each other. The exact moment before Yunan charged through the detonating boompowder in her duel with Marcy. Marcy holding Yunan over the cliff face while her eyes are stone cold. Marcy blowing the mind control powder into Sasha's face. Marcy supporting Anne onto the fwagon due to her bruised rib. Marcy on one knee promising to fix things to Anne in Val shrouded in the mist

Okay I could do moments for AAA but I've already been at this for an hour or two reminicing, so I'm gonna cut it here. Sorry for this deluge. I know it's a lot.

- Remember that tragedy I mentioned in her initial post? That was a one-night war that occurred because her boyfriend, a King, got jealous of someone else trying to marry her (can I get a “yikes”?) She tried to stop it but in the process committed magical heresy and kiiiinda got herself killed anyway.

- Her elf-like ears are a side effect of being drafted onto the villain team’s side; a result of being corrupted by dark magic (she also has somewhat sharp teefers as a result of this too).

- While living on “Earth” during her formative years, she got super into anime and musical theatre. (This is simply a carry over of my high school obsessions. XD) Her favorite animes are Sailor Moon and Lucky Star, and her favorite musicals are Heathers and Hairspray.

Always!!! (Seriously, you can ask me about my stuff at any time, because the chance that I have an unreasonable amount of background lore is incredibly high XD) Eel! my beloved <3

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way? -> Nicky Wuchinger's Tugger and Robert Marx' Munkustrap, 100%. There's not even a full boot of them, only a bit of Gumbie Cat and Old Deuteronomy, but the dynamic between them in this like 2 minutes of Old Deut grabbed me by my shirt collar and shook me like a can of hairspray. They felt a lot more like equals to me than many Tuggers and Munks from other productions, because Nicky seems like a rather mature Tugger to me. They definitely influenced me enough that I completely rewrote all my headcanons for the both of them as a pair. (The power they have...) Anyhow, I watched that video of them more often than I'll ever admit, threw out the 'Tugger is younger than Munk and acts like it' headcanon and started to write Eel!, which brings us to the next question.

2: What scene did you first put down? -> The first scene that I wrote was Tugger kneading Munk like a cat shaped pizza dough, the little piece of dialogue about gravity and Tugger calling Munk a puffer fish. You couldn't pry the chubby Munk headcanon from my cold dead hands even if you tried, it just feels correct to me ♥ Honestly, inserting the kittens and the moray into it was mostly for transition reasons, and also because I wanted to write about the kittens as a group more because it's fun.

6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics? -> Its content, most likely! The 'Deut bros' hc is basically fandom-canon at this point, (for shame!) and "Eel!" kind of marks the moment I decided to care about fanon even less than I already did and started to unapologetically make posts for this pairing, even though it probably alienated a few people and also got me being called an incest shipper one or two times (even though I made the effort to mention not one, not two, but three times that I didn't consider them to be siblings, as if you couldn't tell that from the story itself. Eyeroll emoji. Sometimes it's good to be able to, yknow, read before interacting with fanfiction for a fandom with very dubious canon).

10: Why did you choose this pairing for this particular story? -> Our dear mutual friend Void was trucking along, writing pages and pages of breathtaking fic, and I felt a little like a sham for being so enthusiastic for Tuggerstrap without writing anything for it myself. That had to change! Thus, I got extremely sappy, wrote the scene I mentioned in question 2 and the rest is history. :]

3: What’s your favorite line of narration? -> [A paragraph once again, because why not.] "Jemima’s head popped out under Munkustrap’s chin, pointing at the book that lay sprawled on its back a few metres away. “It’s a monster book.” “I see,” Munkustrap responded, exchanging a look with Tugger. Tugger nodded, rubbed against George one more time and then stood up, sauntering over to the book. He pulled a paw back and lashed out, slapping the book until the kittens were certain the monsters inside had nothing left to give, and then he sat on it. “Aha,” Tugger said, smugly grooming his paw. “Nothing to be feared now.”" [I just loved the idea of Tugger enacting some typical cat violence of slapping the shit out of something they don't like to reassure the kittens. It feels like something he would do.]

I settled on making him look more ✨dapper✨ and I think he spends hours making sure his curls look right , he doesnt like wearing his hat because he says itll mess them up but he uses so much hairspray they wont budge anyway

Ichi being made fun of for growing his hair out long and dying it blonde? (he is depicted with blond hair in certain skits ive seen, game aus and such)

it’s a bit on the short side and I wasn’t vibing like I usually do when I write, but, I hope it’s still ok! <3

One would think that after the fiasco that was Choromatsu’s horrible brown haircut, any of the remaining brothers would seek the others’ advice about doing anything drastic to their hair.

Of course, when the brother in question is Ichimatsu, perhaps it’s understandable why he wouldn’t.

It’s not that he thinks the others wouldn’t be supportive of a change in his hairstyle. It’s more that he’s a little unsure himself about the kind of thing he wants to do, so he keeps the plans secret.

He’s been growing his hair out longer lately, not getting it trimmed up to maintain that neat bowl cut like the rest of his brothers. It makes him stand out among them, which… isn’t necessarily what he wants, but he prefers how it looks like this. It’s almost down to his shoulders now, still a little messy, and he likes the way it settles around his neck.

That’s enough of a change, his brothers think. Nobody really teases him about it; they poke a little fun, exchange barbs the way siblings do. Thankfully, he’s pretty sure that if any of them really hated it or thought he didn’t look good this way, he would wake up with a bunch of it snipped off. (For which he would suddenly find himself an only child, so they all sort of know what’s good for them when it comes to Ichimatsu.)

The bigger change is one he’s finally ready for, though he doesn’t know how any of them will react when he comes home with blonde hair.

In his opinion, it actually looks better than he thought it might. He managed to stammer through his interaction with the cute hair stylist that he didn’t want it too bright, not really platinum blonde or anything, and somehow she made sure that he doesn’t have a disco ball on his head.

He was a little worried about whether it could actually be dyed blonde. He’s heard that it’s difficult to go to a much lighter color if you have dark hair. The stylist assured him in that regard too, that usually the problems with going lighter when you have dark hair is when you’ve dyed your hair dark. Since his black hair is natural, there were fewer issues than he thought.

He’s also kind of relieved she used some kind of hairspray with a nice scent, too, because the bleach necessary to lighten his hair was something he didn’t think he could walk home smelling. In addition, all the work she did means that his hair is softer than he thinks it’s ever been. Funnily enough, despite the strange new color that’s going to take some getting used to, he can’t stop touching his own hair.

Even as he heads inside the house, he’s anxious. Obviously he likes it, which is all that really matters. It’s a gentle hue that the stylist referred to as ‘most people would call this dirty or ash blonde’, so it’s not as shocking as a borderline white. Yet… what if it’s still too much? Should he have gone with a lighter brown first instead of jumping straight to blonde?

… Choromatsu thought his haircut looked cool at first, too. What if Ichimatsu is wrong? What if this actually looks ridiculous?

Those thoughts start to take root as he heads upstairs, trudging into the spare room where it seems like everyone’s congregated. “Hey, I’m home. How’s it going?”

Practically as soon as he steps in, Jyushimatsu’s head is tilted up looking over at him. As usual, he’s always the first to pay attention when it comes to Ichimatsu, so that’s no surprise. “Ichimatsu-nii-san! … Holy crap, nii-san, what’d you do to your hair?!”

Almost as if on cue, that makes the rest of the brothers stop what they’re doing to look at the fourth eldest. Their heads snap up in near perfect unison. Everything is silent for a long moment, as they all take in the new hairdo… then they all burst out laughing.

Ichimatsu wilts, having partially expected this kind of reaction. This was why he was uncertain about changing things up so much in the first place. Fuck, what the hell was he thinking, dyeing his hair blonde?? Maybe he should have bounced the idea off one of the others first.

“Oh, my God, you should’ve kept a streak of black in it!” Osomatsu cackles, his fist banging on the table like someone just told him the best joke he’s ever heard. “At least that way, you woulda looked just as emo as ever instead of this weird boy-band shit you got going on now!”

Totty joins him, nudging their older brother’s shoulder with his own. “Give him a break, Osomatsu-nii-san! The salon obviously didn’t have mirrors!”

Choromatsu apparently has to slap both hands over his mouth to keep from losing his shit. “Ahah, oh, wow… a-at least when I dyed mine, I didn’t go that light!”

Before anybody else utters a word, Jyushimatsu has actually rolled over to bump against Ichimatsu’s legs. “Wow, nii-san! Your hair’s the color of my hoodie!”

“I suppose it’s better than dyeing it to match his own,” Karamatsu hums as he walks over to swing an arm around Ichimatsu’s shoulders. “And you didn’t decide to get it cut, as well?”

Ichimatsu shoves both of them away, slapping Karamatsu’s arm away and giving Jyushimatsu a firm but light kick away. “You guys are jackasses! What’s your problem?! It doesn’t look that bad! Fuck, I guess I should know better than to think my brothers won’t be dicks about me trying to do whatever makes me happy! I really can’t count on you assholes for anything, can I?!”

As he stands there fuming, trying to decide whether or not he wants to cry, all the others exchange a few glances. Whoops. They seem to be talking without saying a word, which they certainly all do sometimes (it’s definitely a sextuplet thing), and contemplating whether or not that was the right thing to do.

Far as they’re all concerned, they were just teasing. That’s nothing new, is it? In a house of six men who all grew up together, there’s bound to be a lot of that; they avoid anything that digs too deeply, but they all give jabs at each other.

However, the way Ichimatsu’s responded makes them think that maybe this was something he was looking for validation about. Teasing when one of them is like that about something is a recipe for disaster.

Didn’t they all learn their lesson about this kind of thing when the truth about Choromatsu’s dye job came out? As much as most of them can usually take the little barbs, they shouldn’t all gang up on one brother like that.

“Whatever,” Ichimatsu mutters, turning to head right back out the door. “Guess I’ll go get it dyed back.”

“A-ah, wait, wait, wait!” Choromatsu gets to his feet and hurries forward, grabbing Ichimatsu by the hand. “Hey, Ichimatsu… we were just fooling around. I-I’m sorry if we made you upset.”

Karamatsu is the next to join them, putting his arm around Ichimatsu’s shoulders again. “Yes, we didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, dear brother! It’s just such a shock, seeing you look so much different.”

“Yeahhhh.” Osomatsu sighs and stretches out on the couch. “I mean, we’re used to looking alike, right? Seeing the same face looking back at us whenever we look at each other. It’s just kinda freaky to see one of us, with the same face, but blonde hair!”

“It actually doesn’t look bad,” Totty offers. He takes a moment to raise his phone, snapping a picture if Ichimatsu’s new look. “Here, I’ve even got photographic evidence. You look great! It’s just gonna take some adjustment.”

Jyushimatsu is still on the floor, where he locks both arms tightly around his older brother’s legs. “Yeah, yeah! It’s not bad, just different! We were teasing!”

Ichimatsu can’t stop himself from scowling at everyone’s comments. How is he supposed to know they’re not fucking with him, and simply backpedaling because he got pissed? What if it really does look awful? “You don’t have to lie to me, you know. If you think it looks like crap, say so. I don’t wanna go around looking like a fucking highlighter if that’s what it looks like. Just don’t make fun of me for trying something new.”

“Yeah… that was kinda shitty of us.” Choromatsu squeezes Ichimatsu’s hand and gives him an anxious smile. “We’re sorry. I mean, I know how bad it felt when you guys all did it to me after I fucked up my hair, so we really shouldn’t have repeated history. At least yours looks way better than what I did to mine.”

He feels Karamatsu swipe a hand through his hair, giving an appreciative sound before laughing. “And it’s silky! I can’t remember the last time your hair was silky, Ichimatsu.”

“Oooh, let me feel!”

Just like that, Ichimatsu supposes he ought to be careful what he wishes for. The situation has flipped completely, and now all his weird brothers are trying to get turns petting his hair.

Well… maybe they’re right. The color and the length are both going to take a little getting used to, just like any drastic alteration to his appearance. Still, it seems they’ve all grown up a little since this happened with Choromatsu. He knows they wouldn’t pull punches in telling him point-blank it looks bad, so it’s probably okay that they’re fawning all over it after making fun a moment ago.

“Fuck you all,” he mutters, but he’s chuckling and leaning into all the contact as he says it.

Regardless of whether or not blonde is his color, it appears that, yeah, his brothers actually will back up his choice to look how he wants.

(Good. He didn’t want to have to turn into an only child, anyway.)

Currently reading: ongoing series are Ao no Exorcist, Boruto, Spy x Family, Akatsuki no Yona (against all my better judgment at this point lmao), and D.Gray-man (like... 3-4 times a year when it updates T_T). Plus fanfic here and there, though I’ve become extremely picky about it.

Last series I watched: Hunter x Hunter (1999) -- almost done with it! I’ve been enjoying this version much more than I thought I would, thought it does leave a lot to be desired (esp the Greed Island arc OVAs >.>)

Last movie I watched: Ah. Hm. I can’t remember, if we’re talking non-animated movie. Animated movie would be the second HxH movie, The Last Mission. Super enjoyable, I gobbled up all the Hisoka & Kurapika crumbs it offered like my life depended on it XD

Currently working on: ... so much T___T  I’ve got a Winx Valtor/Bloom multichap fic plus six one-shots; a WITCH Phobos/Will post-comic series multichap fic plus a couple of Phobos/Will one-shots set in an alternate canon divergent timeline; a FFXIV post-Endwalker ZenosWoL multichap fic plus seven one-shots (featuring Zenos, WoL, Estinien, and Emet primarily); ten Hakuouki one-shots (Hijikata/Yukimura, but generally including the whole gang); two Hunter x Hunter one-shots (Hisoka & Kurapika; Hisoka, Kurapika, Illumi); eight Naruto one-shots (featuring an OC, Orochimaru, his snake family, etc.). And my Bleach longfic, which I really do want to finish. And now I’m contemplating a post-Shippuden through Boruto-Era Itachi-is-alive fic (: And that’s just the writing lmao. I have at least eighteen more FFXIV drawings and six HxH drawings I have planned out. I’m almost done styling Zenos’ wig, and I’m waiting for more hairspray to arrive so I can restyle Itachi’s bangs (I don’t like them X_X). OH, and maintaining my balcony garden through the summer heat!

(I tend to run around like a chipmunk chipping away at multiple things at once instead of focusing on one and finishing it before working on another, which is probably why I can never get things done and posted on a regular basis XD Though, if my brain would stop shoving new ideas down my throat, that would actually help a ton.)
