I've actually thought a bit about what it was like for him the first few days of living with Team Dark, being free from Doleon and the comet for the first time. If this were to happen?

He PANICS. BADLY. Apologizing like crazy, immediately rushing to try and fix it. Wouldn't be surprised if he ended up accidentally getting cuts on his hands/gloves trying to do so. He's shaking, he's holding back from crying as much as he can.

It's not the cup breaking specifically that causes this though. It's the mistake itself. Making that mistake.

And the worst part? He doesn’t really care that it hurts him. He WON’T STOP unless someone either somehow calms him down or just forces him away from the pieces. He expects punishment for the simplest of mistakes. He can’t EVER make mistakes. But maybe he can fix them before bad things happen? That's a mentality he still carries.

Yeah, he could get told its fine, it was just an accident, no problem, but he won't really believe it. This is not fine. He can't just mess up like that. He's expecting some kind of new claw marking on his arm or face. To be grabbed and shouted at, told he's pathetic and useless, as he should. He's supposed to get hurt.

But...that isn't happening. Is that not how this works? Since when was just...talking to him an option? Apparently, this was just a small accident, no one's upset with him. No, that's just how Shadow looks.

It's strange...but Terios much prefers this. Once he can get past the leftover panic, he feels...okay. In a surprisingly but genuinely positive way.

Do you think if the trolls all came back, like everything in the main comic did happen and they were alive again. Do you think Feferi would actually forgive Eridan? Yeah, I think they would be! Feferi is one of the trolls who takes dying the least badly (relentless optimism) and Eridan does genuinely feel bad, which means a lot when it's Eridan. I think she really is genuine when she says she wants them to be friends and also that she's really not the type of person to hold a grudge, and like... death is SUPER cheap in Homestuck, it's really not the horrific, irredeemable, irreperable damage that it is IRL - and if you're talking about (Feferi) and (Eridan), then they're both dead (and irrelevent) now, so the score is kind of even.

In general, the fandom - I mean, people in general, really - tend to have difficulty divorcing themselves from other people. We tend to assume that the people and characters they like will hold similar opinions to themselves. This is how people who like Karkat and don't like Eridan can mentally gloss over or even block out their clear, close friendship, or how people who dislike Cronus can end up overlooking that Meenah actually takes his opinion seriously and unironically defends his wizard thing. Feferi really isn't mad at Eridan or upset about dying the way we probably would be, because she's friends with the horrorterrors, relentlessly cheerful, comfortable with death in general, and death is also just not really that big of a deal in this setting. "I'm really sorry about that, that was shitty of me" is honestly probably all the apology she needs, especially if they came back to life anyway.

something I love about fandoms and fanfiction- some of us, we'll read basically anything with our blorbos in it.

like I've read some destiel fics that are just a bit canon divergent, and I've also read one that was a werewolf au, Parachutes was pretty unique (doctor!cas and mechanic!dean, adored it), hockey team au (it was adorable), Vagabonds (western/outlaw au, very fun), and loads more. and man, I've loved all of it.

if someone wrote a fic that was literally just Pride and Prejudice but destiel and everyone is replaced with spn characters, I would absolutely 100% read it.

So I mentioned that I was a little nervous about talking about the plot and it still stands but uh. Basically, the friends all live in reality. And their "reality" is like our reality (obviously with exceptions that I make to the current time line) but some people can create portals. The portals lead to other dimensions. Some are alternate dimensions similar to reality. Some are dimensions to peaceful lands. Some are dimensions to magical lands.

This dimension maker can lead his friends to an alternate dimension in hostile lands with violent monsters but. The thing is. When they die in the other dimension, they just get booted back to their reality. So the Ringleader (Real) recruits his friend group to go die for fun, like a very mentally stable young adult would do.

Also, this is not the same in every dimension. It's simply the same dimension destination every time, so Ringleader (Real) isn't about to generate a portal to some Other Dimension where death could be permanent. He's content just traveling to the one violent dimension.

as the Tim fan™️ what are your thoughts on fandom tim. I just saw a tik tok about Bruce making Robin Tim do honey traps and sleep with rogues so that Red Robin Tim would he be willing to sell his body for the mission.

Tim has never been my favourite so maybe I just don’t understand but like what is the fandom desire to abuse Tim? or make it so Bruce abuses him or assaults him or that the Batfam hates him?? It seems like every other post I see about Tim is centred around him being severely abused by the Batfam.

I know canon and fandom are tots different but like what’s going on??

With Tim there's a couple different things happening; first is the general way a lot of fans will enjoy angst/hurt type stories and situations like I've seen it with multiple fandoms and multiple characters it's not unique to Tim we all like to hit our fav characters with sticks bc we want to feel something

Secondly Tim just has a big victim complex in popular fanon if he's not being abused by his parents, then he's being beaten up by Jason or Damian, or Dicks trying to send him to Arkham, or Bruce is actually just being Bruce he does do some messy stuff depending on who's writing him (I will also note you actually see a similar thing with Jason but I shan't get into that now)

Anyway to conclude people like angst and Tim is an angst magnet (also something something about tim being a lot of people's self insert character but im not getting into that right now)

Ok, I have an actual question now:

What do you think would happen if Phoenix and Handler met Matchstick and Raven?

they’d definitely get into a fight. how that would go would depend entirely on who was involved and how. if the two Reginalds faced off, it would be a fistfight. if the two agents faced off… that would be a very different story. i have a pretty clear vision in my head of Phoenix dodging all of Matchstick’s attacks and refusing to engage (with an added “if you’re really me, you know that you can’t kill me.” since i’m imagining Matchstick has resets as well) while Matchstick gets more and more frustrated and upset at this brilliant, so-bright-it’s-blinding, genuinely good mirror of themselves that just can’t understand what they went through. but they do. that’s the worst part. Phoenix does understand. and Matchstick doesn’t know how to deal with that.

it would be similar if Phoenix faced off against Raven; them refusing to fight back and dodging until he gets tired. Crane would very reluctantly fight Matchstick and lose, but Matchstick wouldn’t have the heart to finish him off bc even unhinged, even in a world where they will never admit it, they still love their handler.

if the four of them had a confrontation all at the same time? oh, boy. it would be messy, that’s all i know for sure. the exact details would depend on circumstance.

i forgot to add it in my additional notes on IC! but as someone who is a rarepair shipper but chose not to create last year because of the prompts, i would be very interested in prompts that arent all geared towards fluff. there are many kinds of pairings that appeal to people and me personally i dont find any joy in fluff shipping. theres love/hate dynamics, temporary/non-endgame dynamics, tragic dynamics.. id just love to see more variety in prompts that gives people a breadth to work from. or! a choice to work from

Okay okay so I had this AU idea but it’s not something I could pull off so I’m here going to yell about it because I can’t stop thinking about it. And maybe because I think you’d write it so well

What if Mac didn’t want to join the army? What if Harry or James forced him too? And he’s been banned from coming home(for a specific period of time). Is it because Harry’s sick and dying and doesn’t want his grandson to see him like this? Is it James for a more sinister specific reason?

So Mac doesn’t want to be there. He wants to go home. He’s had basically bad experiences with most of the people he’s interacted with(I’m a sucker for Mac’s previous overwatches being awful to him) and Peña was the exception but he’s gone and now he’s stuck with Dalton and he’s got so much time left here still and Dalton gets to go home soon.

They still don’t get along but Mac still saves Jack and he’s shocked when Jack stays because he gets to go home and choose to stay. Ahh it would be so interesting.

Okay what if Mac’s considered a troubled child? He has a record of everything that he’s done and really the only big thing was exploding the football field. He’s the weird kid but is still the Mac we know and love

Assuming everything is still pretty much the same, Harry and James still talk and James gets updates on everything Mac does and that was like the decision of him going to the army. Harry opposes it because he knows the horrors of it but doesn’t really have the final say in anything because while he’s technically Mac’s guardian, James is— unfortunately— still his father

Let’s assume Mac got a scholarship, but it’s really James setting his plan into place and through the magic of television, through signing all the paperwork and everything and getting the scholarship settled, Mac said he’d join the army when he turned 18

So Mac more or less gets literally escorted out of his dorm and shoved onto an army bus and taken away to basic, all while calling Harry trying to figure out what’s happening but Harry just tells him he signed a contract. Mac even calls the Bozers to try to help out because they actually care and don’t want him sent into a battlefield

Training and everything passes, old overwatches come and go, Peña is the only person who says the whole situation is fucked up and tells Mac he’ll look into it because legally the contract Mac signed was null and void because he signed as a minor without his guardian present so he really shouldn’t be there. James gets word of it because that’s just a big problem so he had a plan to keen him from finding anything out, but Peña ends up dying from the Ghost’s bomb and James doesn’t have to Deal With Him™️

At that point, Mac is pretty much cut off from everyone because he didn’t want to be there and the only person that seemed to care and believe him died. Then he gets transferred and the whole interaction with Jack happens and the scene where we see Mac disarm the IED with a battery and gum, how they’re kinda warming up to each other, Mac is still completely closed off because he just hates it there so much, even though Jack is trying to be a decent guy

And then when Mac goes off on his own—

“Now, we need to get on the same page, kid, and I mean right now. That is, if you want to keep breathing. Next time you wait for me to take my position before you go scampering off like that, you hear me?”

“Whatever. Not like it would’ve mattered.”

Which leads to a blowout of Mac yelling how much he hates it there and that he was basically kidnapped from college because he knew that, while he didn’t read the full contract, any agreements would’ve been void like Peña said because he was a minor and he didn’t have the power to consent to actually joining the army

When Mac saves Jack, it’s more of a if it was just me I wouldn’t really care but I’m not going to let you die just because my life sucks and Jack can see Mac going in a downward spiral and knows that if he doesn’t stay then Mac won’t make it out of the sandbox

The last few days is basically how they first met, but Jack’s making an effort to actually be the guy we know and love but Mac doesn’t want anything to do with it because Jack’s leaving and what’s the point of trying to be friends with someone you’ll never see again

So when Jack actually pops into the side of the humvee

“Why’d you come back? You had the opportunity to go home.”

“My home will still be there. I told ya before that I get all my bomb nerds home and yer no exception. You were dealt a real shitty hand and it’s fucked that no one will help ya get to the bottom of it. So I’m gonna stay here, make sure ya get home so you can stick it to those that fucked ya over”

So Mac’s tour gets finished, and since Jack actually holds power, they leave and Jack gets on contact with his buddies up the ladder to help get to the bottom of it and it takes a while but they eventually get the documents Mac signed and then consent forms signed by James and that just starts a whole whirlwind of the true James Hate we deserved

**Bonus points for if Harry died while Mac was deployed but they didn’t let him go home because James knew he would go AWOL so all his free days and leave had to be on base, also Mac assumed that Harry was the one that consented to him joining so he pretty much hated him until he found out the truth

All assuming Mac signed the scholarship forms when he was like 16 because you can legally sign up for the army when you’re 17

seeing a lot of klivorce stuff and as a child of divorce myself i just think it would be funnier if klaine got divorced but still had to live together because of reasons. the divorce actually helped strengthen their relationship and they basically act like best friends who happen to raise kids together. they still occasionally sleep with each other and even take vacations together. everyone is like "why don't you guys just get married again?" they both just laugh it off and say that being divorced is just better for them than being married.
