Meet May's Pal of the Month... the Antilles Pinktoe Tarantula!

Also called the Martinique Pinktoe, this arboreal tarantula begins its life with an electric blue carapace and stunning black and white stripes. As they mature, these gentle giants shed their baby blues for metallic greens and fiery reds. And of course, their signature pink toe tips!

These arachnid architects build intricate funnel-shaped webs amongst the branches of their tropical treetop homes, spending most days patiently hunting small insects. Their webs are often surprisingly thick and sturdy almost like fabric.

The Antilles Pinktoe are classed as "least concern" and are in fact very popular for tarantula enthusiasts due to their unique appearance and gentle temperament.

Hey Layla <3 Sorry this took me so long. I've been crazy busy with school. Anyway, I changed the wording of the prompt a little (because I wrote this fic based of it and forgot to use it until the end) but I hope you enjoy!

“Tabitha?” Jughead whispers into the night, cringing as the sound of his voice cuts through the silent bedroom like a knife.

Beside him, he hears his girlfriend roll over, yawning groggily. When she speaks her voice is muffled by the comforter.

“You ok Jug? What’s going on?”

He’s already regretting waking her up, the sound of concern in her voice barely disguising the exhaustion hiding under the surface. She’s been working the night shift at Pop’s these past few days and has found her body refuses to adjust to the lack of sleep.

“Nothing, you- you can go back to sleep. I’m sorry for waking you,” he replies.

She fumbles around for a moment before catching hold of his hand. The feeling of his skin against hers makes him feel grounded, safe.

“Don’t try that on me Jones,” Tabitha says, “I can hear it in your voice, something’s up.”

Jughead sighs. Sometimes he wishes that his girlfriend didn’t have such a good read on him. After a brief moment of hesitation, he shuffles closer to her, leaning forward so that his forehead is pressed against hers. She gasps at first, before releasing a small, contented hum.

“Just a nightmare,” he mumbles, his voice low and quiet.

It’s not the first time that he’s opened up to her about these kinds of problems but something about this feels more vulnerable than those other moments.

Maybe it’s the warmth of her breath dancing across his lips, or the darkness of the room coaxing long-absent trust from somewhere deep within him. Or maybe it’s the fact that in this moment, he really, really, needs Tabitha Tate.

She threads their fingers together.

“I’m sorry. Do we need to turn the lights on and get some tea, or would you rather talk in the dark for a little while.”

It didn’t escape Jughead that she referred to them as a ‘we’. He liked the way it sounded, as though it was him and his girlfriend against the world. And maybe tonight, it was.

“I don’t mind. So long as you’re here with me.”

He could almost hear her smile, “I’m here, Jug. You can hold my hand for as long as you need to.”

I can’t explain what blue eye samurai makes me feel…….its a typical revenge story, a man sets out on his hero’s journey to kill the four men who have wronged him. A lone ronin, wide brimmed hat and sword in hand, roaming Edo Japan on his vendetta. But he’s not a man. He’s a woman. And how has he been wronged? What’s she getting revenge on?

On the fact that she exists. She wants revenge on the four white men that could possibly have conceived her. Who got her Japanese mother pregnant with a blue-eyed child. And not just any blue-eyed child, but a girl child. How is she possibly supposed to live in the world like that? For the wrong of being conceived, for the wrong of being born, for the wrong of being birthed into a world that will never love or accept her, she will kill her father.

I don’t know what level of convoluted self hate that is. Is she a child of rape? Or a child of a whore? Halfway through I realise what she told herself at the start couldn’t possibly be true - it’s not really for her mother. Her mother wasn’t the root of her vendetta, she wasn’t really doing it for her. When she leaves that farm and leaves the chance to live a simple, legitimate life as a woman, she goes right back to hunting down the men. Those men personally wronged her.

And then there’s so much to be discussed surrounding the way she grew up, because as a boy child and a man she can afford so much more than life has dealt her. Her swordfather who took her in out of the love and care in his heart had no shame in teaching a mixed man his art. The face of a ‘demon’ is fine. But not the identity of a woman. Shh. Don’t say it. Don’t confess. He knows and doesn’t want to hear it.

And because she’s lived that way her entire life for safety and security, she’s so completely alienated from being a woman, perhaps she really is he. But not really by choice. Or is it? The thing she does best is the art of killing, the art of men. Gender is a prison and gender is a performance and she has to choose which to perform. The times cannot reconcile hatred and violence with a woman. So she lives as a man.

So she can get revenge on her father, for revenge on herself.

the "all customer service people are trained by management to be illiterate apes you can never get any resolutions by design dont be mean about it" crowd would faint to know there is a guy at my bank RIGHT NOW attempting to resolve an issue that would normally take a week

see. i tried to order food (having nothing of note in the house, and too much pain currently to get down 3 flights of stairs about it) and the payment failed on just eat's end.

but it went through fine on my bank's end, so the funds are tied up in "pending"... for a week. my available balance is now 95p so i can't just do it again

the bank cannot typically do anything about this until the normal time frame for collection passes and they funds just release automatically. just eat have zero contactable customer service

but it is for FOOD and there's no more MONEY and i am a DISABLED CUSTOMER so BY FUCKING GOD not on zeeshan's watch
