Hi yes for the love of god hello. Why the fuck can I hear bees or wasps or some other sort of buzzing insect, either in my walls or in my neighbour’s living room, in January

#i don’t Think i’m hallucinating because i don’t really do that when i’m fully awake and not sick #so i suppose that’s something at least #but like.. what is it???#i thought maybe it could be an electrical hum at first but it’s too irregular for that. like sometimes it gets louder and sometimes quieter #and i can definitely hear those occasional short ‘zzt!’ sounds that insects make when they’re surprised or angry #and i can hear them landing on/hitting something. i think. it’s just the quietest little bonk but also sort of unmistakeable #thing is i very much don’t think i could mistake anything else for insect sounds. i’m very well acquainted with insect sounds #first of all because i am absolutely fucking terrified of all flying insects #second because we had a tree bumblebee nest in the downstairs roof last summer #yes these two things Did combine to give me a very anxious four months. how did you know #my issue is that i just don’t know how bugs would be in the wall. it’s a brick wall. this is a semidetached 70s house #we don’t have a crawlspace and nothing here is built from plywood. if they were in the downstairs roof again i’d be hearing it #in the kitchen. but it’s exclusively the living room wall #maybe my neighbour has decided to keep bees?? that doesn’t seem like something he’d do since he doesn’t like any animals or people #he’s kind of warmed to mabel but you can’t not like mabel. she just looks at everyone like 🥺 and she’s so little and goofy #it’ll just have to remain a mystery until such time as the wall caves in and bees emerge i guess #personal

also in the face of people deleting their blogs, that's another reason why you guys are supposed to reblog stuff. if somebody deletes a post, your liked version will disappear, but the reblogs remain. i'm insane about preservation and archival, every single piece of art i have ever enjoyed is reblogged on my 450k+ posts main account so if the artists leave I still have their work. i even tag things (though just with the main fandom tag) so I have years and years worth of fanworks saved that the terrible general site search will never show you.

please reblog art. not just to support the artists who make it and share their efforts, but also so you have your own copy of their works saved for yourself, and the future users of this site.

i know that disney is too big to boycott effectively but that shouldn't translate to "and so we should keep buying their products like normal" but rather "at the very least we should try"

#i know they have their fingers in a lot of pies but #i've just been thinking #bc i don't watch star wars or sports or marvel and i don't rlly watch tv/cable anymore #and i haven't bought a disney product or gone to the theme parks #and as far as i know disney doesn't facilitate a necessity that can't be circumvented #and at the VERY‚ very least‚ we're supposed to pressure them #the way i personally interpret that is 'avoid directly supporting them as much as you can'#bc i'm aware that you could accidently support them by proxy by buying something they've invested in #which is why we're supposed to PRESSURE rather than BOYCOTT #but i just also want to see disney downfall in my lifetime but that's neither here nor there #idk man #i was so excited to hear abt the book of bill but I don't think i could stomach #directly supporting the company that pledged $2million to the occupation project #free palestine #and don't forget that you can still sail the seven seas (or just go buy old dvds! #kingdom hearts #kh #ahh this one was so hard to draw; i never know how to combine a bunch of scenes in one picture without it looking cheesy #just threw a bunch of waves and leaves and birds on top and called it a day haha. it might be a bit too busy though #the white line going up the center is supposed to be a trail left behind by the gummi ship! it connects to the ship in the bg at the top #it's kinda meant to evoke little kids dreaming of other places-> getting older and earnestly making the raft to try to reach the dream #->the gummi ship as a premonition of how they'd actually reach the dream in the future. i guess? idk how to explain #and i really wanted to have kairi's expressions be really similar but changing subtly from wonder to worry when she's older #the boys are just max enthusiasm the whole time #but yeah. something something Symbolism and hopefully it's at least kinda pretty if it doesn't make sense #i'm just super proud to have been part of this project! everyone's work is just amazing #the destiny kids give me this soft feeling of kinda lonely nostalgia. it's nice to have a book full of that #very wistful looking through it #fan art #my art #project stuff

found a baby yaku amidst the Sketchbook-glitch-corruption wreckage..... wondering if he flipped skin tones between black and red and everything in between until he saw his to-be-grandparents (and started mimicking THEIR skin tone....... )

#thinking about yakumo having weird lil homunculus proportions or other such variations #what if he just always had massive hands compared to body size. yaoi hands from birth-transformation #he was so anti-snake that he looked at hands and said YES. THIS IS THE LEAST SNAKEY I CAN BE. I WILL GO 600% ON THIS FEATURE SPECIFICALLY #changing forms from entirely obsidian... or red in patches.... or striped... or other combinations...#because he only had murals to base his human form off of? at least at first?#were the murals in colour? shaded with gradients and lighting oh so conveniently?#then how was he to know what skin tone humans are supposed to have???#imagining the first few times he encountered his grandparents in his cave #maybe they only saw a shadow with eyes darting back into the darkness #just a really long black noodle with semisnake semihuman eyes (just a hint of sclera)#and every time they visited #yakumo observed more of their features #and took on something similar to their proportions...? or hair colour? or skin colour?#and maybe even when he's first adopted into the family and leaves the cave #he's still a vibrant pink and everyone thinks he somehow got sunburnt inside a cave or smth #but then he starts seeing all the other people in the village #including diff age groups and kids who are supposedly around his age #so he starts to slowly morph his body toward those characteristics #his skin gets beige-r. reshapes his eyes a bit.... grows a bit of nose.....lengthens his limbs a bit...#(the big humans seem to treat me the same as that speCIFIC group of smaller humans... so maybe i should use them as a Model)#like... how do you even age in a human body when you have no reference for how humans age?!??!#did yakumo stare at several children in the village and watch their growth year by year #and match his body to their changes just to fit in?#did nature just know what to do?? and he just naturally grew like a human without manual manipulation?#I DEMAND ANSWERS #nu carnival yakumo

Hello friend! Are you really going to share that with other people?

This was supposed to be a wholesome picture of Sun reminding me to have fun when drawing.

There isn't much to say about the process other than the plan to just post the sketch turned into adding simple flat colors before finally turning into a more finished piece with dramatic lighting. I haven't tried lighting a scene like this before, so messing around with something I've been curious about was nice.

Uncertainty when it comes to drawing and sharing art is something I constantly struggle with. It's hard to not compare yourself to others when there is just so much fantastic stuff coming out of the community all the time! The sheer amount of support folks give to everyone participating in this space is amazing and makes the self-doubt feel silly and unnecessary, but sometimes you just get stuck in your head and all the good positive things can't break through. While the doubt will probably always be there, I hope that with some practice it will someday have less of an impact on my ability to create and I'll truly be able to enjoy the process in its entirety. Lots of folks are out there cheering for one another, I just need to stop, listen and recognize that I'm also being included in that.
