sokka is bi. he probably thought men were supposed to marry women, but he quickly got over it when he got over his short lived misogyny. bi awakening wasn’t really a thing, he just sorta knew he always liked boys and girls. he’s had many crushes, but yue and suki are the ones that always stood out the most for him. obvi he dabbles in drag, that’s like sorta a canon thing. zuko’s autistic charms get to him and he ends up developing a crush on him.

toph is an aroace lesbian. she only dates the finest of women. she can tell she’ll read your heart with her feet.

zuko is gay like GAAAYYYY I don’t mean to bring accidental cheesy puns into this but he is a FLAMING homosexual, and I refuse to believe otherwise. at some point I said “I like zutara, but I just think atla is way funnier when in the back of your mind, zuko is gay.” anyways he’s gay and sex repulsed. zuko didn’t know he liked boys until he was 17, and he didn’t realize he was completely gay until a year later. he was very comphet and was always expected to produce a blood heir, and he didn’t think much of it. looking back, zuko noticed how he did find boys cute when he was younger and often avoided them because of it. he could sense that he and his sister were different, but he always thought that was because they were royalty. he only really started dating mai because they had so much in common, he thought that’s what was supposed to happen. when zuko, not long after becoming fire lord, realized he liked boys, he kept it to himself. a year later when he realized he only liked boys, he vented about it to mai, and she helped him through it. they broke up, but he still values her friendship. zuko finally gets with sokka in his 20s. yeah it took that long.

I will say may not be the best representation for her character because I've only watched (many) play troughs and not played the game yet cause I no longer have my play station :( but I am absolutely horrendously down bad for her ngl so here we go (also abby is closeted wlw in this sorry guys)

connecting to this I feel like she gets jealous pretty easily. Not from a place of seeing you as property but from her own insecurities and worrying that you'll find somebody "better" which means sometimes she'll give a snide little comment when you've been hanging out with somebody else that makes you pull back and go "excuse me?" often leading to her either talking herself into a corner or going silent and passive aggressive until your able to pull the truth out of her, often times after the anger has fizzled out hours later and she slips into your room with a soft mumbled apology when you tell you that you love her and only her but that doesn't mean she gets to be an asshole to you for it. (she makes it up to you though. all night long in fact)

The feeling of your nails gently scritching her scalp has her stretching out like a cat in a sunbeam on a lazy sunday afternoon. She'll set her head in your lap while you undo the braid and run your fingers through her soft locks until she slowly drifts off to sleep because she just feels so at peace with you that she's comfortable letting her guard down and falling asleep

even if you have very short hair, you probably end up wearing one of her hair ties on your wrists because she tends to lose them + its a little part of her to keep by your side :') (i will say its interesting that in the show, it seems like ellie keeps her hair tied back with a hairtie that seems to have been cut, so she has to wrap it around and then tie a knot which makes sense because i'd gather that elastic isn't that easy to come across post apocalypse yknow. I think it'd be cute if you like. found a scrunchie or smthn for her that even though its not her style she's still wear it cause its a gift from you :'))

that being said? i imagine after everything she's been through she's a pretty light/paranoid sleeper so if you slip from the bed for any reason be ready to see her padding after you, squinted eyes and grumbling with sleep still in her voice as she mumbles 'where you goin'?' because babygirl woke up without you by her side and it caused her to panic :(

confident in her body. She's worked hard on her physique and she knows you enjoy it, so don't be surprised to see her not-so-subtlety flex if she catches you eyeing her up. Yknow, despite acknowledging the racism and xenophobia of a lot of the authorial intent of these bits of Dracula, it's surprising how easily we can turn it on its head and make these "dracula helpers" be also people in a Shitty situation, hating the fact they have no real way to help Jonathan. Making the contempt for these people be something dracula intentionally plants in Jonathan's mind to make him distrustful of the people that *could* help him. Specially considering the depictions of the crucifix lady and all the kind souls in the coach... it enriches the story to make it so these folks are not actually racist caricatures but real flesh and blood (ha) humans in an extremely complex position

It does take deliberate effort to come up with justifications/alternate interpretations. But at the same time, yeah, you don't technically have to change canon to get a much better view of them - the lack of communication between them and our main characters makes their canon motivations cloudier and opens up options to pick a different one. And it really does add to the story if you do so.

Throughout the entire book, the minor characters aren't evil people. Even when they're working for Dracula, they're just doing a job and either don't know what he is (in England, the Captain of the Demeter) or are too afraid to act because they do know what he is (the locals near the Castle, the sailors). Admittedly the situation on the Demeter is a bit more complex with the first mate's likely knowledge of what Dracula is warring with his denial of it, but being in denial and being a harsh or even abusive boss isn't the same thing as wanting to help Dracula. Everyone seems to basically mean well, even if the results are often in service of evil. This actually becomes an interpersonal theme amongst the main characters, with loving and well-meant lack of communication making them vulnerable to Dracula.

Dracula has a bunch of people working for him, and they all help him out to various degrees - in addition to the ones like the people on the coach and inn who are just too scared to openly oppose him. In fact, Jonathan himself provides him a lot of help in planning and getting his legal necessities squared away, and if anything he is the ultimate proof that you don't have to want to support Dracula in any way in order to feel like you have to keep him happy. Having just a couple of "Bad People" is really out of place to the rest of the book. It would make more sense if there was a kind of 'everyone is shades of gray' complex morality on display amongst various people, but the book doesn't go there (despite all the 'heroes were the true villains all along' sequels/adaptations). It has a pretty firm stance that people are basically good and want to help one another, but that a combination of not communicating, not believing in others' capabilities, and fear leaves cracks that Dracula takes advantage of to wedge them apart. Once he's isolated them from each other he is better able to hunt them.

The lack of communication is evident among the main characters. The prejudicial ideas/lack of belief in capabilities is largely shown through benevolent sexism and ableism, but there is also some racist dismissal of foolish local superstitions at various points. And of course fear takes various forms, for oneself, for others. But if we go with a different interpretation of these people, rather than just being racist Evil Goons who are exceptions to the rest of humanity, they immediately fall prey to all three of those themes. The language barrier doesn't allow for communication. The racist ideas of them Jonathan has been told are reinforced by this lack of ability to communicate and by Dracula himself. Their fear for their own lives leaves them unable to answer Jonathan's pleas for help. His isolation leaves him more vulnerable to Dracula. It even goes the other way around too kind of, because if they have difficulty communicating (not necessarily always straight up language barrier) and people are operating on those racist assumptions that they're fine or even eager to be working for Dracula, then no one is going to try and help them either (which just as Dracula would like, potentially leaves them thinking they don't have much recourse but to serve him). The entire chase and fight at the end of the story could play into that, potentially.

So yeah, it is still a deliberate effort, because there was clearly racist assumptions/intent in the way they were written. But making the effort to have a kinder interpretations of them... It gives them a chance to be people in a bad situation, rather than racist caricatures, as you said. And that's preferable on both a personal level and for the themes of the book.

look if i’m being honest i threw all the backstory stuff into the polls so i’m not gonna elaborate much on that here bc i’ll sound like a broken record. however, i didn’t mention a lot of silly goofy fun facts and also the fact that she’s a victim of an oc x canon ship /silly

anyways!!! ramblings and associated art under the cut because this is gonna be LONG

- for starters!!! during the season 1 special, she wasn’t exactly deemed powerful enough to aid in the DBK takeover, so she mostly stayed behind and guarded the Flaming Foundry, making sure that no heroes or little thieves wandered in to take them down from the inside. this meant that MK and the gang hadn’t actually properly met her until the Great Wall Race, which caused MK and Mei go “what do you mean there’s another one???” and Tang was like “yeah she’s only mentioned in one legend, i’m not surprised you don’t know of her” said legend was her and Red Son’s birth. sad times

- she has been banned from wikipedia for editing her page to add info without sources one too many times

- her scar is actually from a sparring accident! red son burned her face bad and it rendered her practically blind in one eye, unable to open it. she’s researched all the healing magic she possibly could, but it never worked. partially because she doesn’t have much magic power, and partially because an injury like this is damn near irreversible. it was originally just an excuse for me to not have to draw her other eye but yknow the lore has to come from somewhere

- she writes as a hobby. she specializes in fantasy stuff inspired by ancient legends, but it’s a bit hard to do so if you’re a walking legend yourself and live in megapolis, china. in recent times she tried to publish a book under a different name but her publisher was immediately like “is this a modern slice of life story?” and needless to say the publishing office found themselves a victim of arson.

- she has a really bad problem with constantly feeling worthless and inadequate. this was caused almost entirely by her neglect from PIF and the shoes she has to fill of being the (technical) heir to the Demon Bull throne, yet not possessing the abilities worthy of the title of Crown Princess. if the demon bull family wasn’t basically immortal this would be more of a problem, but it still weighs on her.

i would just like to say that byler is boring as hell. like all other ships in st have soul they have energy, they have angst even some of the non canonical ones (well written stoncy/ steddie loml). but byler is just, damsel in distress x depressed hero. maybe it's cause the fandom has completely watered down both will and Mike to that stereotype when they aren't that to fit them in heterosexual gender norms of relationships, but idk I get bored about byler

my personal issue with will is honestly like 90% just the fact that he doesn't feel like a super fleshed-out character to me so i'm not very invested in him. mike felt the same in s4 to be fair but like. will wasn't even There in s1 and was possessed for almost all of s2 and barely did anything in s3 and s4. which wouldn't even necessarily be a problem yknow eddie's only in one season robin's only in two but the problem is that noah schnapp is not that good at acting and you can Tell that he's absolutely phoning it in whenever he isn't like the focus of a scene. usually if you watch a character like eddie or robin in any given scene even if they're just hanging out in the background they're still in character and they're interacting with other characters/the environment and reacting to whatever's going on but noah literally doesn't even bother like if you try watching him in any big group scene he's usually just. there. noah's allergy to acting seems to have spread somehow to finn in s4 so all of their scenes together just do not hit for me personally they all feel very. high school play quality acting. sorry finn.

which brings me to the issue with byler which is that their most impactful moments occur when will is either in the upside down or not fully himself. mike's devotion to will in s1 and s2 pretty much forms the entire basis for the ship yknow because by the time will is actually Around mike is dating el and generally more concerned with her than he is with will, and the moments they Do have aren't as effective as things like the will possession scenes. i don't read any byler ship content so idk how they write the little fellas so i won't speak on that but it wouldn't surprise me if that damsel/hero dynamic is popular because that's like. what the best canon byler content (s1/2) Is.

now that will is actually around they tend to argue and the arguments are literally always because will feels like mike is leaving him behind and he's upset that mike and el are dating. which i don't even object to as a storyline actually but my point is that the crux of the conflict between their characters is literally that will has feelings for mike that mike does not return. so if you're approaching byler as a ship where mike Does return will's feelings, you kinda have to just. invent a whole new dynamic for them bc you've lost a lot of their s3/4 canon dynamic. and a lot of people aren't great at coming up with interesting dynamics and new conflicts between characters to keep things engaging.

also all of that said: i want to be clear that i know a lot of byler fans are kids and i am not trying to bully fifteen year olds who see something valuable in some fifteen year old characters and write fics about them. i'm sure a lot of people write wonderful fics about their little guys and have fun and find fulfillment in it and i'm never gonna hate on that. i'm just explaining my own perspective here and all of my negative byler energies are 100% directed toward the weirdo adults who are obsessed with the ship and insist it's going canon and get angry and send hate to people that disagree with them. also toward the ones who say weird ableist and misogynistic things about el those people can go fuck themselves.

yes they do!! i keep forgetting to talk about them and i think it's because i haven't explored their characters enough in my head so im not as attached to them in this au, but i really want to develop them more. originally this was an sbi au but then my crimeboys solo brain (and my tntduo brain) took over. but sbi is very much a found family in this au too!!!

i think i mentioned that wilbur met techno first, probably through their job? originally i wanted phil to be a college prof who meets wilbur when hes a student, but then i scrapped wilbur going to college after school because he doesnt have the money or time (he does eventually go in his late twenties!! because he really wants to like he loves learning and it was always a dream of his), so phil is still a college prof in my heart but yeah.

he's techno's dad, and techno's mum isn't even in the picture, i guess she's dead lmao. yeah im making that canon she's dead because then wilbur and techno can make dead mum jokes. <- you just saw the live process of a fact being canonised.

anyway twinsduo bond at their retail job over talking about history and ancient greece and literature. techno is a classics major at his dad's college, and he took a job to get some money on the side. sometimes he sneaks wilbur his textbooks just because he's really passionate about the topic and he's really jealous of techno who gets to learn about it and have the college experience and live at home with his dad.

phil and wilbur have a Somewhat? fatherly? relationship? over time as crimeboys & emeraldduo grow closer phil definitely starts acting as a father/mentor figure for wilbur, but it's never like. official. wilbur doesn't call him Dad or anything. but they still love each other a lot it's very much found family but i suppose not in the traditional sense.

it takes a LONG time for wilbur to warm up to phil though, he has a tendency to distrust adults given. well. His Whole Life Experience i guess. but the second tommy meets techno he makes it his life's mission to annoy him as much as possible. This is a mark of love. it takes a long time for techno to realise that . tommy and phil also get along pretty quickly, phil's chill, easy-going vibe matches well with tommy's . General Presence.

they live a couple streets away from wilbur & tommy's flat (and later in the story when wilbur buys a house with q they buy the house right beside phil and techno's. they make a hole in the fence separating the houses so they can hang out in the other house more easily!). phil gets really worried about wilbur when he learns that he has a teen and a baby in his care alone, so he tries his best to help out where he can, but obviously wilbur's a stubborn asshole who refuses help, so phil has to be subtle about it. one day when he's visiting he finds the fridge is empty except for baby formula and a single sandwich for tommy's lunch, he doesn't leave wilbur a choice he makes him come over and feeds all of them. and wilbur keeps protesting but phil's like "it hurts them too if you refuse help" and so he shuts up.

phil teaches english, and he's kinda the cool old teacher who always swears and talks shit but who cares a lot about his students, and it's a similar relationship he has with crimeboys. he and techno also have a very funny (to me) relationship because often when they talk it doesn't feel like a father and son, more like two weird old friends who constantly jab at each other. it's very confusing if you don't know them.

techno also doesn't have a lot of friends (mostly by choice) and phil is like. The One Person he trusts the most. he begrudgingly starts allowing wilbur in that circle. eventually also tommy although that takes work (thats a lie techno loves tommy but he has to act like he hates him because yknow. The Principle).

to a lot of people's surprise, fundy and techno latch on to each other very quickly. it's surprising because fundy was a very very shy and anxious kid, and as a baby, he would cry if he was held by anyone who wasn't wilbur. and techno is this big burly socially awkward guy who doesn't know how to give hugs. but for some reason fundy immediately trusts him and lets him carry him and techno is very gentle with him. he doesn't talk to him like a baby, he has conversations with 6 month old fundy about ancient greece and politics and linguistics. he's the only person besides wilbur who fundy will fall asleep in the arms of. even when fundy's an older kid they still have that bond, at any social events they'll be in the corner so they don't have to talk to people.

techno also plays the violin, and when he learns this tommy begs him for months to play him something and he refuses. one day tommy comes home crying because he had an awful day and skimmed his knee and got a bad grade and his lunch got soaked in the rain, and techno leads him up to his room and silently begins to play a piece. tommy never shut up so quickly in his life LMAO

These are great questions!!! I'm in the same hype about atsv as you, and my thoughts on it are also running wild AKSJAKDNWKSBAK I'M HAVING SO MUCH FUN

The toughest point to think of is how in the world he would get bit. I was rewatching the first movie that had Tobey Maguire, and there's just no way Jamil would willingly go to a school trip to a laboratory full of genetically modified spiders and insects or things of the sort 😭 I'll gladly listen to any ideas of how you think the bite would happen. I got no clue.

But when it does happen, obviously he would freak out upon seeing the spider/realizing he got bitten. Frantically wiping off wherever he felt the spider had crawled on him like "EW EW EW EW EW EW" he's devastated. That's the worst thing that could ever happen to him.

Whenever he starts feeling weird after the bite he immediately connects the dots and thinks he's going to die, nobody has ever seen him so nervous.

I'm making up a whole movie plot here, but hear me out. The only reason he doesn't immediately call a doctor is because he has an important basketball game to attend to, and his team needs him. That's where the super embarrassing spiderman moment comes in. He takes the ball and it doesn't want to let go. Struggle in front of the entire stadium, and he kinda had to quit the match since he cannot use his hands and the team ended up losing

The speech bubbles.. so many speech bubbles. Jamil tends to keep all his thoughts to himself so his inner monologue is filled with those. Visually very cool! He got more comic speech bubbles than any other spiderman out there fr

He's probably someone who would hide his powers and secret identity pretty well. Kalim wouldn't really suspect of anything, but he's not THAT oblivious as to not notice something weird is going on with his friend. He just doesn't push to get the truth out of him because Jamil's business is his own. Kalim's sure that if there's something he doesn't want to talk about it, he's doing it for a good reason (this was proven to not be true before, and he should absolutely worry about any secrets Jamil keeps away from most, but I digress). But if the truth's ever revealed, he wouldn't be so surprised, just react with an "oh yeah that makes sense 👍 I've never seen you and spiderman in the same room"

I got to add something you didn't ask anon, but the canon events ran through my mind and I'm making up on the spot what they would be for the friendly(-ish) neighborhood Spider Viper 🤔 it's mostly so tragic though, because the major canon events that have to happen to every spider person are: losing their best friend, losing a father figure (to teach that with great power comes great responsibility 💪), and also get a love interest (I volunteer btw)

I'm looking through the cast of twst and contemplating who's going to be the unfortunate soul for Jamil's uncle Ben, but I'm not 100% sure! What do you think?

jt (finally) watches warrior nun - s1 e1

So yeah I confess: I actually haven't sat down and properly watched the series yet! But with the mystery continuation coming, I figured I finally should do it (plus my life right now is about doing things that I've been meaning to do so here we are).

Anyway it's a weird experience, watching Warrior Nun because 1) I've not sat down to watch a show in a long ass time and 2) I already know the major beats and arcs and have characterizations and head canons formed. Still, it's a credit to the whole team that it's still rather compelling.

One of the biggest things that surprised me was how the camera lingers on Ava, giving us a chance to experience things alongside her. (There's some beautiful wide shots - it's interesting to see it all in context after watching so many fanvids lol) Again, I haven't watched a lot of shows in the past, oh, decade, but I'm assuming it's not common now for there to be this kind of breathing room, an opportunity for the actor to yknow, act (which Alba Baptista does brilliantly, not just in her facial expressions but really her whole body gosh). And it's a fantastic device to create sympathy for her, to connect with her emotionally.

I also didn't realize just how central Mary is at the start - and goddamn, does Toya Turner give us everything from the jump. Additionally fascinating is seeing how Vincent's betrayal is also set up from the start - it's kinda fun to know what's going to happen and see the clues. For example, how he deliberately manipulates Mary when she - rightfully - calls him out on choosing her to do the dirty work. The way he puts pressure on Mary by making it seem like she (already emotionally compromised) is the only one he can trust in a seemingly helpless situation made me want to punch him and that's brilliant writing.

Last and mostly, I have to of course talk about Beatrice. The thing that stuck out to me is how much leadership she shows in the small things she does. We see her both in action/in a stressful situation (which I'll talk more about in a sec) and in the aftermath - it's layers that I've only seen in experienced leaders when I was in the military. We see her both as a strategist (leaving Shannon and making Lilith stay) and an emotionally competent leader (reassuring Camila post-battle), but the thing that fascinated me the most is that we also see her as someone capable of doing a hard thing: potentially taking down Mary.

The moment I'm referring to is when they're going to take the halo out of Shannon and Mary refuses, pointing her shotgun at the surgeon.

Look at Beatrice here: She has immediately reached for what looks like a side arm. She glances only once at the surgeon but during the whole exchange, she is focused solely on Mary. There was no hesitation, just a steady at-the-ready the whole time. Would she have threatened Mary if Shannon not spoken up? We'll never know, but it's fascinating all the same, all these little hints of what she's capable of all here in just the first episode.

Also can I just mention just how amazing that "she's right" exchange was between Beatrice and Mary?

Idk if it was the lighting or the makeup or just Kristina Tonteri-Young's brilliant choices (or just all of the above), but the heartbreak in both of their faces is just damn, really freaking good.

In any case, we'll see how long it takes to get through both seasons lol

its the way that im so incapable of shutting the fuck up about this guy but the moment i get asked directly im like UHHHH IDK. so apologies if this is kind of a mess <3 also i rarely think about cute and fluffy things i am always digging deep into trauma and such so uh yeah these are going to be on the heavier side.

The biggest one is obviously that he's autistic, shocking I know. Who would've guessed this would be a dearly held headcanon of tumblr user autisticjoshrusso. It truly makes me so insane and I'm incapable of like... properly summarizing it in its entirety so I am actually working on going through ep by ep breaking down my thoughts about it. I think he was very obviously Gay even as a child and that it definitely affected his ability to socialize throughout his entire childhood and adolescence. Like he's very much giving "only had female friends who may or may not have treated him like an actual human person and not their accessory GBF". And he still leans into that "persona" sometimes as an adult because it's an easy way to be liked <3 again its the autism but yknow.....

Speaking of childhood, he's giving only child to me. And I think his relationship to his parents is just... non-existent. He didn't deliberately cut contact, it wasn't any sort of dramatic abuse situation, they just... aren't close? It's that thing where they knew he was gay from the start but also never really knew how to handle it, never being fully accepting but not outright hateful, just a very awkward medium that made it difficult to form a lasting bond into adulthood. They text once per holiday and are friends on Facebook.

This one doesn't really have much of a canon basis but rather builds on my other headcanons, and that's that growing up being a Known Gay led him to well... his own kind of Buck 1.0 era, so to speak. Basically being the favorite secret hookup for every deeply closeted sports bro, which was horrific for his mental health but was like... scraps of attention/intimacy that he wouldn't get otherwise, so why not keep doing it? I like this one because not only does it make the whole trying to avoid a meaningless hookup when he rejoined dating apps thing more meaningful and hurt even more than it already does, but also adds a new layer of substance to his beef with Eddie that I think is really interesting.

The timeline of this show is all sorts of fucked so I've just decided that like... he either just turned or will soon be turning 40, and definitely has some feelings about that because when he was younger he did NOT expect he'd live to be that old <3 Not necessarily in an active ideation way, but more of a passive disregard for his life and just general queer pessimism? I hold that Sue saved his life twice, first in the fire and then by giving him a job that gave him an actual sense of purpose and direction for probably the first time ever. Every time he thinks about the fact he might actually end up being a proper Queer Elder he just?? surprised pikachu meme.

Yeah you got the four elements right. The others you mentioned are sub bending but only certain ones can be used by a type of bending, only fire benders can lightning bend, earth benders can metal bend, water benders can heal, and air benders can fly (the rarest btw, only 2 people have been known to fly). But there are many other sub bending techniques, any bender can use the sub bending techniques but only if they have the skill for it. Like this one earthbender named Bolin wanted to metal bend but he couldn’t, but later learned he could lava bend which took less skill

I honestly don’t have any headcanons about the champions bending types except for Lance. I just wanted to know your opinion lol. I thought of him as a non-bender at first because of his combat skills. But there are fire benders like Zuko and Azula that know how to fight with swords and have been trained in martial arts. So I figured him being a fire bender would be a good choice

OUGH Iris as the only air bender of the group makes me sad. Canonically airbenders are the rarest among the four groups since they were all slaughtered (or almost all) during the beginning of the war. And the most airbenders found at the end of the second series was less than 20. So Iris really has no one to teach her how to bend since her parents dipped and there’s little to no air bending masters in the world

But actually, Iris learning to bend by watching the others is a very cool concept. Zuko had actually taken inspiration from other elements and used them in battle. He used his momentum as a weapon (air), standing his ground and have form to deflect attacks (earth), unleash his own power against opponents (fire), and turning his opponents energy against them (water). So Iris learning from watching others could actually be real

But GOD I know you didn’t mean it but if Iris was the avatar it’s actually canon that she would learn how to water bend next. The order is water, earth, fire, air. So if she was born as a air bender then she’d have to learn water bending next, then earth bending, then fire bending

CKSKCKZNDNS but yeah like you said the other champions are busy so Iris and Hau having a friendly battle and Hau sends a blast of water at Iris who didn’t have time to dodge or deflect it so she just puts her hands up to take the brunt of the attack and the water just, stops in front of her face, floating in the air. Just imagine after a bit of silence these two just start freaking out in excitement and surprise. They’d be calling Drayden and the other champions right away once their excitement dies down

Both got so excited that they tried it again, w Iris mimicking Hau's movements, and when she did it by herself, she almost couldn't believe it. "Are you doing that to make me feel better??"

Both ran back to Iris' home, almost kicking the door down, and Iris screaming "I CAN WATER BEND!!"

Imagine Wallace getting excited tho, happy to have another water bender in their group, that he just jumped up from their seat and went to the kids, asking so many questions abt it and went on how he could teach them more abt water bending and ofc the kids were more than happy

But also imagine if that's how the others and Drayden found out abt Iris being the avatar tho, bc no one else could do that, and if the other nations or smth finds out, or the fire nation yeah that was like the main threat iirc, then they'd take Iris from them. So they decided to always have someone w her while she trains even more, keeping her safe from any threat
