WIP Day

Hewwo~ I was tagged by the ever lovely @derelictheretic to share a WIP and I'm actually sharing two this time! Because for once I am trying to get my ass to work on more than one fic at a time!

First is an upcoming chapter of Can You Feel The Sun?

Her eyes water as she leaves the apartment complex and slides into MaiMai. She's okay, she's okay- she just needs to work and distract herself. V reminds herself- she's been alone before. 

She had a life before Johnny, before Jackie, before Nibbles- before anyone. She's used to being alone and it shouldn't hurt this fucking much. She shouldn't miss anyone this much. It shouldn't matter that her car feels painfully quiet, it shouldn't matter that her passenger seat is empty, and nothing smells like cigarettes, and that when she gets home tonight her apartment will be empty. 

She just has to remember how to live with the ache. She got too used to living without it. 

And I'm actually working on This Is Love, my fc5 fic again~ So, have a little John and Dahlia interaction~

“Our church is growing, I offered them a generous offer merely so I could feed and shelter my flock as well as those in need- how could you find greed in that?” 

“How could you find greed in two people wanting to hold on to something they fought to keep while still being kind and giving to the community?” She throws back, a pointed look and a raised brow. 

“Hmm, it’s my job to recognize the sins in our flock- to hear their confessions and deliver their atonement. I know greed when I see it, deputy.” 

“That so,” she murmurs and rolls her eyes, “Speakin’ of sin, gotta say- never pegged you for a sloth guy.” 

Pride and vanity swell his chest at seeing her eyes drift across it- where sin marks his flesh. He searches his gaze for any signs of lust, but finds none- not sure if his disapointment is because he’s yet to unveil her sins or something deeper. 

“And how would you peg me?” He can’t resist, flirting with Joseph’s newest fixation, voice heavy with innuendo while seeing how small she looks beneath his arm. Her brows furrow, head cocking to the side like a curious dog as his meaning drifts far above her empty little skull.

I was wondering if you are planning on updating that art where there is a line up of JD’s exes? Now that you have revealed Patty I think it be nice to see the complete picture and maybe have it in color as an extra treat! But that’s your choice of course as the artist.

I do have a question out of all JD’s exes which one is the worst and which is the best? Like not only how the whole relationship went as a whole, but also how it ended and how JD gets along with them after the break up? Like are they still friends? Do they get along well?

Also I don’t know what your end goal is for Otto but I feel like the best outcome for him is to end up in a serious relationship/marriage to Clay with JD and Floyd having to get along/play nice with Otto for the rest of their lives 😂🤣!!!

Honestly JD is on good terms with pretty much everyone but Julien and Otto. Cory, Bass and Barley are major sweeties and get along well with everybody. Otto obviously is a mega slut so he wreaks havoc everywhere he goes. Hutch and Patty lead busy lives so they don't see JD very often. But they all get together for the Brozone reunion tour (and after party)!

We'll see what's in store for Otto 😉

Why I believe John/Orekoto was lying about his motive in Neoplasm

Ok so double just came out and I have a lot of thoughts. When a new MV comes out I usually wait a while until I can make a proper analysis but this one is mostly going to focus on neoplasm. And in particular one thing me and my friend found particularly suspicious about John’s (Orekoto’s) testimony when it comes to the murder(s).

When Es questioned John about their murder, he responded very clearly with “Yeah it was me, I killed them off”. And after that Es questioned why he did it, only to say that he did it only because they were annoying him and it was whoever was walking by. Es goes quiet at this which might imply to me some sort of suspicion on his testimony. John goes on to say that he can’t remember how many he killed because he was just born back then and his memory is kinda fuzzy.

Instantly this set off a ton of red flags for me, it just doesn’t make any sense when you think about it. Earlier on when John fronted he started acting all violent and threatened to beat up Es, who just calmly laughed it off. Es seemed to be quickly notice something was off, as their calm demeanour enacted an also suspiciously calm demeanour from John. Es then said it was strange because they assumed him to be a monster. After hearing that John instantly went back into that violent persona that they were showing as soon as they fronted.

This scene is very telling to me. John is not violent, or evil, heartless or anything like that. He’s only acting that way to potentially come out less. And be even straight up says “if I had stayed a monster… maybe that would’ve been better.” Then instantly takes back what he said by just going “…what?”

From this it’s very clear, like I said, that John isn’t evil. But then that takes what he said about his murders into question. That he only did it because he just got annoyed and killed random passers. This clearly isn’t true when you take into account the whole interaction with Es, because otherwise he would’ve attempted to kill Es the whole time and not go docile when they weren’t acting scared.

I believe that John is trying to dip back into his monster persona he made for himself here. He probably figured out that acting evil all the time wouldn’t work, and when questioned on such a sensitive topic such as the murder he just went with the option that made him the least sympathetic, and Mikoto more sympathetic in order to lower his stress levels by not telling the full truth. 

As for who committed the murder/s, I’m still pretty unsure. In double it looks like both sides are perpetrators. But this also takes into account, what about those scenes of John killing the mannequins? It seems like it matches up enough to what he said in the voice drama but I don’t think that’s the smiling gun.

Milgram is an extremely complex series, and in no way should the easiest option be assumed as the right one. Unreliable narrators are a big thing in the series, and we should look at a character’s MV with how they view themselves in mind. For example, Kazui thinks himself as a monster and this is especially prevalent in Cat, where if you’d take it at first glance you might assume that he’s evil or whatever, just as he views himself.

The same should apply to John as well. He wants to believe he’s a monster in order to protect Mikoto from more mental stress about his murder, and might end up with him fronting less. This likely subconsciously played itself into double and even MeMe, where John portrays himself as evil as that’s what he wants people to view him as.

I feel like when discussing who’s the murder and if John is evil, we should definitely take this into account otherwise our future opinions will be biased.

Ok so someone just mentioned the fact that he had a baseball bat in the first place means it was likely a premeditated murder. So him killing people just because they annoyed him would be a really weird thing to say because that would’ve been an impulsive murder, and he had a weapon at the time.

the way i see it the supernatural finale could be interpreted as disrespectful and a slap in the face to the characters who fought so hard to create their own story, write their own destiny, define all odds and live their lives outside of gods will in this case but personally to me the whole "this was always gonna end like this", "love was there and it didn't chnage anything. but it still matters that the love was there", and the fact that their story and legacy will live on and the fact that sam and dean died the way they were introduced to us in the very first episode and the way both characters always predicted,, is kind of,, its kind of beautiful,..

John Randolph of Roanoke literally the MOST fascinating guy. Hes wilder than a herd of horses hoarse on meth. literally created a slur. he brought dogs into congress and stripped in the house of reps and got into verbal and physical fights. he dueled everyone to the point where his contemporaries commented that he should be in a straightjacket. he asked the cousin of the person he was dueling with to be his second in the same duel. he was a dramatic bitch who ordered a european badge of honor to be made for him in honor of that duel. he bemoaned that no one would care about him when he died. when he was near death he painstakingly made his way to the us congress gallery to hear henry clays beautiful voice one last time. whenever the wife of a congressmen he was insulting was in the gallery he doubled down on his insults. when he died he freed the people he enslaved but he did a piss poor job so everything just fell apart. he has tuberculosis but it was contained solely to his dick and so he suffered an inferiority complex and an inability to progress past puberty because of it. and also maybe he had klinefelter syndrome bc of a imbalance either ways, my name on discord is john randolph hrt not because i GENUINELY think he would support hrt, but because the fact that there is a CHANCE he would is still higher than the rest of his colleagues.

Henry Wise also the most insane guy of the time period. like jror, got into fights, but this was way more about slavery. he picked fights with jqa all throughout the gag war. surprisingly woke on several topics including thanksgiving and the rights of native americans. he says some of the funniest things ever sometimes. he thinks abolitionist is a slur. he became a general in the confederate army but got kicked out for being a bitch. somehow flip flopped between every. single. political. party. of his era. including almost becoming a republican near the end of his life. his irreverence for law and order is astounding. he bullied john tyler and literally everyone in congress. the fact that he was drinking buddies with franklin pierce and got him elected but also got pierces friend killed in the cilley graves duel is insane. the fact that in order to try and get henry clay the presidential nomination he literally bent his knee at hugh lawson white and did the equivalent of the uwu face is insane. the fact he more or less murdered john brown is insane. the fact that ralph waldo emerson said that if brown and wise were in a different life, they could have been friends is even more insane. like damn ralph waldo emerson now is NOT the time to be shipping abolitionist john brown and the slavery supporting secessionist governor of virginia who murdered him together. also not going to lie the fact that he never sought a pardon after his involvement in the confederacy is actually a breath of fresh air for this time period. go girl acknowledge that you are undeserving of a pardon or forgiveness for your crimes. i honestly cant do this guy justice without just telling you gto look at my #the field of blood tag. this guy. also i will not lie i did not actually understand his violent tendancies (which to his credit he wasnt like a maniac or anything ) until i saw his photograph. and uh yeah. shaking hands meme between jror and henry wise and the connecting factor is looking feminine and having a serious complex because of it.

Hugh Lawson White his hair. the way hes the only antebellum politician whos wikipedia page actually says what his personality and style was like. fascinating.

Charles Sumner hes such a loser. he deserved so much better. once he fell of a train. he was called his great impotency. he got caned one time and thats all everyone ever remembers about him. his main biographer did him SO DIRTY. he might be ace he might be gay. the hermaphrodite by julia ward howe is probably about the love triangle between julia him and samuel howe, julias husband. he has incredibly modern beliefs about things! hes funny and he has a three way benign rivalry betwen himself seward and douglas. he waxed poetic about daniel websters head and then felt betrayed by him. he once stroked his own head glumly. his eyebags. he got hit with a brick once. his handsomeness is the work of legends. hes awkward and gentlemanly and depressing and optimistic and so many many things its beautiful and he was beautiful and i love him so much! i love his friendship with mary todd lincoln and the way he was basically looming in abraham lincolns window every other night throughout the civil war.

William Plumer Jr. LITERALLY my guy!! his anecdotes are all so fascinating. the time he had a very dramatic meeting with daniel webster about Fate and Destiny. his involvement with preserving american history from the very beginning. just lovely and wonderful and i basically yassify him whenever i imagine him in my head. just wonderful. and these are basically all of them i think, though i like a lot of congressmen of this era.

So, here are my thoughts on Now and Then

Can you believe we just got a Beatles song??? because I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. Ever since last week my expectations of this song were high -I mean it is them either way-, but this was way more incredible than i could have expected.

It is them. I know it sounds stupid to say it, but it feels like them. It's been over 50 years since the four of them made music together and yet this brings me back to them at their prime, with John bringing the lyrics and the soft voice, Paul the musicality and the experimentation, George the wonderful guitar and Ringo always knowing how to adjust perfectly to the rhythm. It's them being them, which might not be a cause of surprise if it weren't for the fact two of them are no longer with us. The fact they managed to pull this off out of pure love and respect for one another, for their legacy as a group, as the biggest of all time, is mind-blowing to me.

I'm amazed at how Paul wanted it to be mostly a John song, and abid to that with so much respect. The fact he only sings to complement John's voice, to add depth and to bring us back to what it felt like to listen to both of them, I love it so much. I am also very much aware of the fact this is John in his 30 something singing it with Paul in his eighties, and it shows: their voices together sound like always but sound like never. You can feel that time has passed for Paul and I love it because it is the essence of now and then.

The backing vocals, the fact they used vocals from the four of them is everything to me. The string arrangements give us the sound of the Beatles in such a unique and wonderful way, you can't help but feel this belonged to a space reserved somewhere between Eleanor Rigby and Because, and it is perfectly placed right there. You can tell everyone involved on it loves and knows the Beatles completely, which is no surprise considering Macca and Giles were the geniuses behind it.

I do have one tiny comment: the production feels very 2023-ish, which is not bad, it just feels a bit too modern, takes me out a bit from the 1960s rhythm that made me fall in love with them in the first place, but I understand times have changed and this also has to sound contemporary, is what they would have loved. I'm just old-fashioned.

I feel John. I feel Paul. I feel George. I feel Ringo. Everything that made them them is present within those four minutes. Everything, including John and Paul's endless intense, complicated and absolutely beautiful love for one another.

This is the most precious and perfect gift and I can't thank Paul and Ringo enough for giving us the chance to live one last release. Never thought I would live to experience with the world a new Beatle song, and I feel it like the biggest treasure.

They remain my everything. And I can't wait for the music video.

Oh, and the fact it's done and Love Me Do starts right after. My heart can't take it.

Anyway, so many things to say, so many things I love. Let me know what you thought!!!
