Thank you for tagging me! ♡ Are we actually surprised my favorite characters are all dudes haha still, it was pretty hard to think about which characters I like the most and I had trouble choosing (and hope I didn’t miss anything important.. khhm). But this is basically what’s consuming my mind lately so yeah (if we add Genshin Impact characters, well.. that’s another story). Knowing you have complete creative control of The Thing.

First of all I want you to know that "Katie McGrath is the hotness" might just become my tag for her because I love that phrase SO very dearly.

SECONDLY WHAT A GOOD QUESTION. I feel like I'm going to do a mix of both what I would like to see her in and also what I feel like (from the little of what I understand) her genre preferences are:

PROJECT NUMBER ONE: You know initially I was going to say "Some sort of dark fantasy and/or period piece" but then I remembered that I can just fulfill all of our wildest dreams and do a mini-series (because fuck multiple movies this is a pro "the importance of letting stories breathe" blog) of The Priory of the Orange Tree and casting her as Sabran. She's the right age, the perfect look AND all of our favorite things of looking gay and stern in a period/fantasy dress!!! (I'd have to think more on the rest of the cast but I'm up to the challenge and would devote a substantial amount of the budget to costume design)

PROJECT NUMBER TWO: A contemporary paranormal/supernatural thriller maybe a la Midnight Mass or Bly Manor or maybe Crimson Peak? (haven't actually seen any of these cause I'm a weenie but that's the kind of vibes I want) and make her a vampire. Or a ghost actually I think that could be a lot of fun. If we're going Midnight Mass/Mike Flanagan then Rahul Kohli's there because I want to see what sort of chemistry they can actually work with that's not 12 minutes on a CW show. I want it to hurt and I want her to have fun running around screaming maybe! Or biting people! Or both!!

PROJECT NUMBER THREE: some sort of historical documentary. Get her a cozy sweater, get her in a castle or some old ass building somewhere and let her just Go. Put a jaunty little soundtrack over it and boom instant hit.

I'm going through old files trying to consolidate things and guess what I've started finding? Old work from high school religous-culture-wars training.

Examples:

Prompt: Think forward to your life as a college student. Imagine an encounter with Americanism on campus. Describe it and how you can deal with it. This is one of the things I struggle most to recognize. I’ve grown up, very luckily, in a family where loyalty to the Church teachings has always been held above loyalty to worldly authority (etc.—morality above government, y’know?). So in regards to the major moral issues like abortion and homosexual acts, I don’t have trouble recognizing the Americanism when people say religion has no right to interfere with law/society at large/the government, etc. But a lot of times it’s not that blatant, and since I’ve been bombarded with “SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE!” since I was little, it’s often really difficult for me to notice. I’ll work on that in college, for sure. It’ll be a good habit in general to look at everything I hear more critically, too, not just for Americanism.

Any group of people that felt angry, unfairly treated, still angry over past wrongs…it wormed its way in and planted seeds in those hearts until now it’s everywhere. Even without realizing it, we, as a culture, employ the same philosophy that we claim to hate. We accept it now. Many even cling to it. It’s in the Occupy Movements, the Mike Brown (and assorted others) protests, the demand for more government encroachment, the societal entitlement, the political games, the first grade classrooms. Maybe it will be a student or professor spewing the ideology (though I doubt it in my case, I won’t be taking many—if any—classes where it would come up as a topic), or—more likely—it’ll be a pervasive undercurrent in a lot of peoples’ reasonings, opinions, and beliefs. I’ll have to always be looking out for it (just like the other “isms”, especially Americanism) and recognize when it’s rearing its head. omg so many! for movies: i love the clone wars movie, and literally any barbie movie! i have them all on dvd + they just make me so nostaglic + happy. it's that thing of like "coming soon -- fall 2006" like i can't wait for fall 2006 akljsdlkas :) also legally blonde + clueless are CLASSICS that i love. comfort shows would obviously be the clone wars! but also i like early 2000s shows that are again nostaglic for me + that i've just seen a hundred times. so things like psych and the first like 6 seasons of doctor who, and also dimension 20 (which i'm watching right now hehe!)
