butterfly motif 🦋& vedic astrology

ive wanted to exclusively dedicate a post towards the use of the butterfly motif in pop culture, so here it is!! i think butterflies have had a re-emergence in fashion in the last few years and im here for it!!

🦋 as i've mentioned in many other posts, the nakshatras closely tied to using this motif repeatedly are the pisces rashi nakshatras of ubp and revati along with punarvasu nakshatra.

my own take is that, since pisces is the final rashi and the point of "absolution" it represents the end of chrysalis, when all elements have come together to create transformation; in pisces there is nothing left to do, but seek liberation from these cycles (its purpose is moksha,after all) and dissolve entirely into the cosmic ocean.

a butterfly is a beautiful symbol, representing not only the death of the creature that inhabited the cocoon but also reminding us that that death is necessary because only then can something as beautiful as a butterfly emerge from within that womb. the womb is the source of creation but you're not meant to stay there forever, that's not just stagnancy, that's death. birth is a painful process because you're leaving behind the only place you've ever known but you have no other option so you must be brave enough to face it.

this brings us to the connection of punarvasu nakshatra to butterflies. punarvasu's deity is goddess Aditi who is creation itself; she is the cosmic mother, she created this universe. in pisces, you seek liberation from the cycles of life but in punarvasu, life, the universe, creation itself takes place. thus it represents the butterfly emerging from the cocoon to claim its identity as a butterfly because the life it led before that was a non-life, it wasn't yet a butterfly, it was a non-being. goddess Aditi embodies infinite space and primordial vastness. what better way to represent the cosmic abundance than with a symbol like a butterfly? 🦋you cannot ask who created you because you are your own creation

you stormed into ted's bedroom, slamming the door behind you. ted watched from his bed with an expression of mostly shock, mingled with a slight bit of awe. you flopped onto his bed, buried your face into his pillow, and let out a feral scream. he placed down the magazine he'd been flipping through and held a finger next to your side, weighing the pros and cons of poking you to elicit a reaction. before he had time to do so, you immediately sat up with an angry pout and offered him the most sympathetic look you could while so angry.

"sorry, it's just . . . i hate him. i hate him! he said we would be spending the whole night together, but yet again he's made plans with his 'friends' and he's 'so so sorry.' honestly, i'm getting sick of it!"

oh, you were angry about that boyfriend of yours. ted wasn't a fan at all - the way he treated you was most heinous. he didn't really seem to care about you - if anything, he treated you like a side piece. no, Ted didn't like him one bit.

"don't be sorry," ted said, flashing you one of his trademark grins. somehow, just with a smile, he was always able to make you feel better. "I hate him too! a dickweed like him doesn't deserve a babe- i mean, a girl - like you."

your lips spread into a thin line, which he supposed was an attempt at a smile. "thanks teddy," you responded softly, patting him on the thigh. you tried to think about something else, move the topic of conversation away from your good-for-nothing boyfriend. "so, whatcha doing?"

you had felt the guilt creep in rather quickly once you realized how much you'd been procrastinating on hanging out with your best friends, bill and ted. you had been so hyperfixated on your boyfriend that you had completely forgotten about your weekly movie night and failed to meet up with bill to help him paint some posters for a wyld stallyns. you decided to apologize by treating them to a day at the mall, buying ice cream and movie tickets for all of you.

while you and bill chatted vehemently about perhaps the coolest sci-fi film you've ever seen, ted was a bit preoccupied watching your so-called boyfriend get a bit too cozy with cindy. cindy, who most considered to be the prettiest girl in your grade, was head cheerleader (though you had always been the prettiest, in ted's mind). you noticed that ted was being uncharacteristically quiet and followed his line of sight. immediately, your jubilant expression fell to something much more hardened.

"of course he's here. why wouldn't he be." he somehow always found a way to ruin your best days - and who the hell was that he was copying up with?

"hey, wow, look over there!" bill said all of a sudden, pointing to the lower floor of the mall, in the opposite direction. you didn't notice the look that bill gave ted and glanced to where he was pointing. there was nothing there.

"i don't see anything," you said with furrowed brows, completely distracted now and confused as to what exactly bill had spotted. ted had rushed to your side and looked down as well.

"what? i don't-" ted let out what sounded like a small whimper of pain (you didn't see bill step on his foot). "oh yeah! duh! the thing, you didn't see . . . the thing?"

"what thing?" you asked exasperatedly.

"come on!" bill exclaimed, running towards the escalator. ted barked out a laugh before quickly following him in pursuit.

"wait, guys!" you didn't realize until you jad gotten home - they were distracting you from your so-called boyfriend. you couldn't help but smile the rest of the day.

you and ted walked off the bus together, laughing your asses off as you made the slow walk to your houses. the two of you had lived next to each other for as long as you could remember. the bond between the two of you had remained strong ever since.

ted watched as you through your head back with a bark of laughter and he admired the way your grin split your face, the way your hair tickled the nape of your neck, how the sun twinkled in your beautiful eyes. he was snapped back to reality when you had straightened out your head, your entire back even, and stared in suprise at someone sitting on your front lawn. they held a boombox, romantic music blaring through the speakers. they held a sign, one that made ted sick to the very depths of his stomach. will you go to prom with me?

ted had been planning on asking you that very same question later today. but it was too late - you were running up to that douchebag, your arms thrown around his neck as you shouted "yes!" rather a bit loudly. that sound is punctuated in his ears for the rest of the day.

later, when you were both sitting in his room doing homework (well, you were doing homework - he was sulking while pretending to write about history stuff) he placed down his pencil. this drew your attention.

"what do you see in him?" ted asked.

"what?" you responded with furrowed brows, obviously not yet accustomed to the sudden change in conversation.

"what do you see in him? your boyfriend? he's not - not smart or anything. not that funny. not even that good at football."

you leaned back and closed your math textbook. "what's that supposed to mean?" he felt uncomfortable now, at your offended tone, and wondered whether he should have spoke up at all.

"he just doesn't treat you right," ted grumbled. "you deserve to be treated most excellently - and he certainly does not treat you as such. you saw him with that girl at the mall."

you nodded slowly before gathering all your books together in a rush, fury painted all over your face.

"where are you going?" ted asked innocently.

"away from you," you responded harshly. "you know what i think, ted, I think you're jealous that i have a date for prom and you don't. don't pick on my boyfriend because your miserable."

"what, no, that's -" you held a hand to his face as you left his room, slamming the door behind you. "non-non-heinous, man."

you smiled for the picture your parents took with you, your boyfriend, and bill and ted (the boys were glaring daggers at each other, not to your awareness). as you were ushered out the door, you were met by the sight of a limo out front.

you felt someone snake a finger under the strap of your dress, pulling it back and snapping it against your skin. you let out a yelp, slapping your boyfriend in the arm, half-serious. "ow!"

"well show a little more skin next time, missy, i thought we were having a fun time," he responded with another cruel chuckle. you wrapped your arma ariund your shoulders with discomfort, pulling the straps of your dress further upwards. yoy glanced towards ted, his teeth clenched and fists crumpled. maybe he was right. maybe he really was a douchebag. it was time you didn't let him treat you like shit.

"well if that's all you cared about tonight, getting your dick wet, then i suggest you find another easily-manipulated girl to be your prom bitch," you barked back sharply. as soon as you realized the words that had left your mouth, you slapped a hand over your mouth. bill arched a brow at ted in suprise, who let out a snicker.

"you find that funny, logan?" your (ex-)boyfriend said to ted.

"yeah, i do," ted responded, blowing out his chest, trying to seem tough. only a second later there was a sickening crunch, a blow dealt to his jaw. he fell down to the ground, his face turned away from you. you rushed over to ted, asking if he was okay. you only heard your ex scoff and walk back towards the limo.

"ted, let me see your face," you said gently. he turned his face towards you and you let out a gasp. his jaw was all bruised up. "oh god! i'm so sorry!"

"cool, dude! battle scar!" bill exclaimed excitedly, letting out a chuckle. ted pushed himself to be sitting upright, a grin spreading like an infection across his face.

"i totally pissed him off, didn't i?" ted asked, obviously very smug with himself despite having just been punched square in the face. "I told ya he was bogus."

"i should have listened to you earlier," you responded sheepishly, wincing at the memory of raising your voice at ted. "I wish i could make it up to you."

"well, there is a way . . ." ted trailed off, looking towards bill. he responded to ted with an ostentatious thumbs up, and ted returned to your gaze with another lazy grin. "go to prom with me?"

... ok im genuinely surprised that so many people are sort of giving up on will and mike getting together when ive never been this confident about a ship??? ever???

if im wrong ill take the L but Cmon Now :

• the show recap purposefully shows the mike and will scenes, putting an emphasis on their dynamic instead of the mike and el scenes

• last season el and mike were going thru it but in the end, el tells him that she loves him and he stood there sort of slack jawed and stunned and couldnt say the words back even then within that scene

• which brings us to the beginning of s4 where mike still cant say ily to el even through the letters and correspondances hes had with her, either a) cuz hes going thru some insecurity about his feelings and the show is building up to a big romantic gesture or b) because hes internally struggling and a part of him knows if he said 'ily' back to el in a romantic context, it wouldnt be true

• meanwhile will is very blatantly pining what with The very pointed slow romantic tune that plays whenever he gazes at mike for a bit too long, and he evidently has a painting for mike and im guessing its contents will be revealed in volume 2 next month

• as for the way mike is treating will, giving him a bit of the cold shoulder at first, the awkwardness and avoiding his gaze, it could be because he feels guilty and weird about how he left things tense between him and his bestie, but then again mikes attitude feels like hes going thru it with el and it could b because he has some underlying feelings for will that he hasnt realized yet and is unknowingly taking out these frustrations on will (rip)

• and i did appreciate how mike apologized to will and that heartfelt talk they had as will was packing his stuff - again, the talks and discussions they had were continuously will trying to console mike despite his shit attitude towards him, so mike finally saying that 'he doesnt deserve to be treated that way' and the Pure hopeful expression on wills face and mikes big smile when they established each other as being each others besties again,.,.,. what was the reason What was the reason

• also this has nothing to do with anything but the background posters in wills room of Jaws 1975 and the og little shop of horrors musical (the lyricist to that musical being howard ashman, a gay man) ... gay!! Gay (source for this being im a mega stan of these two things and i am gay thank you vry much)

• back to the topic at hand tho, i feel like theres some sort of specific costuming choices what with the characters outfit colour schemes and id do a deeper analysis if i knew what i was talking about

• like smthing smthing about how mike brings el yellow and blue flowers and shes dissapointed with how he still signed the bouquet by writing 'from, mike' not 'love, mike', and from what google says about flowers blue can be interpreted as representing peace or a balm to anxiousness, i read somewhere that it also represented desire and romance tho, but for yellow its apparently 'the ideal color for symbolizing friendship'

• then again will has been wearing yellow and blue plad shirts and mike has been wearing an equally chaotic mix of yellow and blue in his outfits and those are just two contrasting colours that compliment each other well, indicating that the writers just purposefully wanted their outfits to be coordinated wink wink

• and to just really get into it theres this General disconnect between el and mike and how they just arent on the same wavelenght anymore, el's message that she leaves behind for mike also being signed with a 'from, el' not 'love, el', seeming to indicate that unless mike apologizes and professes his love to her in volume 2, their romance is kinda officially fizzling out

• honestly ive always rooted for mike and el pre realizing that will and mike was a possibility in the shows plot, and what with el going THRU IT in the following episodes of season 4, i feel like her and mike latched onto each other super hard at the start of the show and whats coming to light now is that their bond is just as valid if it remains platonic

• so we dont see the california gang as much as up until episode 7 it focuses on the vecna plot, and with the last 2 episodes of the season releasing in july being longer and the usual recipe for a stranger things finale being everyone meets up near the end, im guessing will, mike and el are gonna make their way back to hawkins somehow and join the others in the upside down, either intentionally or by force

• by that i mean that theres this specific payoff that has to come with the reveal of what will was painting in episode 1, and el herself says its for a crush, and we know that crush is mike, and so will is still dragging this painting around with him in his backpack for it to be revealed at a surely emotionally charged moment for him

• think of it this way: theres surely gonna be more mike and will screentime in volume 2 now that weve gone thru all of that setup, and whats the point of heavily implying will is crushing on mike all for mike to just be like 'oh haha thx bestie im an ally and all so hashtag gay rights good for you but i love el sorryyy 🤪'

• like Why parallel how mike and el cant seem to work as a couple anymore and mike just seems desperately trying to salvage their relationship and say what she wants to hear, all while having this constant pensive and frustrated look on his face vs how mike was being super dodgey and sketchy with will to giving him these super soft looks and almost being in tears when they had that conversation and reconciled as besties for like 10 seconds?

• it seems cruel to string ur (queer) audience along with the possibility of byler being real only for mike to admit how much he loves el romantically and will to end up heartbroken... like wow... such compelling storywritting (sike) and theyd get Major shit for it Instead of the potential praise if they were to just go thru with endgame byler

• and heres my final crackhead theory but since vecna feeds on peoples guilt and its the dissapearance of will and his connection to the upside down that opened a gate and the upside down being stuck in time on the day he did dissapear,.,., what if the closer he gets to hawkins and the gates he becomes its next target? will could have potential guilt relating to keeping his sexuality/crush hush hush, and being in the closet in the 80s is just surely a shit enough time so i can just imagine the possibility of him being vecnas next or final victim to pick on, and it would be the perfect wake up call for mike to panic at the chance of losing will Yet Again

• or idk im getting a cw supernatural vibe that will is gonna confess to mike, then get yeeted into super hell I Mean the upside down, but lets hope that this time mike pulls his head out of his ass and realizes that the reason things with el feel off is because hes been repressing his feelings for will because hes an oblivious and emotionally stunted dork!!!

Biker headcanons for the AC Women that torment my brain

@kassandras-one-braincell you’ve broken me with this tbh I'm in shambles (affectionate) OG post here also NSFW warning this is a no minors post (or at the very least stop at the warning gdi)

Soma is sophisticated and expensive. Not gonna say too much here since I went into more detail previously but~ Imagine vintage restored bikes that are shiny and perfect all lined up in a pristine garage space with polished tool boxes that are filled with all her necessities to work on them and keep them gleaming. Professionally photographed, framed posters of you posed with her bikes adorn the walls of the space. She even picked lingerie to match each bike!

She only really rides one or two of her collection regularly, the majority are mostly for show. I imagine she’d have a cruiser with a good passenger seat on the back so she can take you on long scenic rides to beautiful locations, and you can bet your ass she’d have it shipped overseas on your vacations so she can take you all over the world on it. Soma is all class and polish, so her riding gear would definitely reflect that. High quality leather and helmets with coms will keep the two of you safe, comfortable and connected on your rides. She would probably have matching riding suits custom made for the two of you. I could just see her doing that.

Kassandra as the cocky performance rider. She’d have pick up lines for days, all the innuendo about taking you for a ride and how she knows how to handle curves. She’d chat you up good, and land a date for that same weekend.

She’d show up with an extra helmet and jacket for you, and she’d make sure it was all properly adjusted. In the og post about this concept, it says that you kiss her right when the helmets come off. I agree, and I’d say that you want to kiss her the moment she slides the helmet onto you and starts doing up the chin straps. For anyone who’s never worn a motorcycle helmet, they don’t have a clip like one for a bicycle would, it’s a strap that gets looped through two d-rings, and it’s kinda tricky at first. So, imagine: gazing up at her while she’s looking all intently at you with those gorgeous dark eyes, her fingertips working the thin strap quickly and efficiently on muscle memory. When she’s done she puts her hands on either side of it to check that it’s snug on your head and looks into your eyes for a moment longer than necessary. It’s electric.

When you arrive and she takes hers off, you’re still kind of fumbling with the unfamiliar clasp. She notices and hooks a finger through the loop, giving it a quick tug to undo it and free you of the helmet, whole time she's got that sexy little smile on her face. She takes it off of you and sets it on the seat behind you, arms reaching around your body to do so. At that moment you’re looking up at her and she’s so close. You can’t stop yourself from leaning in and up on your toes to steal a kiss. She’s a little surprised but doesn’t falter about kissing you back. Her hands rest so naturally on your waist. It’s short and sweet and leaves you both giddy with butterflies.

Your first date with her would be something sweet and romantic like taking you to a fancy park or perhaps a botanical garden. You’d walk around holding hands for hours and she’d be all chuffed that you gave her a kiss upon arrival to the date location. It would make her feel so confident and bold, wrapping her arms around you and allowing the affection to flow naturally. I think she would feel nervous about it being too much too soon but you just lean into it and look at her with stars in your eyes and it shuts that doubt right up. Very much a uhaul lesbian relationship in this case you would just fall so completely for each other and be comfortable together immediately. First date lasting three days kind of love story.

Eivor does motocross competitively and is a big name in the game. She also does trail riding but it’s more for fun so not her focus. She’s definitely the most reckless rider of the bunch but takes protective precautions seriously, bc she knows that she loves to go fast, push limits and pull stunts. However, if anyone else is on the bike with her she’s much more cautious and safe with her driving. She'd def pop some wheelies with you on the back if you were ok with it.

In this au I think she’d have a modest but comfortable house pretty far out of town on a decent chunk of land. She’d have a practice track built in her backyard with a trail looping around the edge and through the woods of her property. She’d do laps every day to stay at the top of her game, and just to enjoy the ride.

Her garage would be well organized but not shiny and fancy like Soma’s. Hers is functional and well used, in a separate building from the main house. Very Dad's Garage vibes in there I think. She’d love working on her own bikes, but I think she’d leave her competition bike’s maintenance to her trusted pro mechanic Gunnar.

Now I mentioned in my last reblog how I imagine they’d all have pics of you on their motorcycles, and that they’d have very different vibes.

Soma and Kassandra would display them like a trophy. Not publicly, but up on the walls of their own spaces. Eivor? She’s possessive. She wouldn’t want to have a photographer ruining the intimacy of your photos no matter who it was.

Eivor would ride the two of you out to a nice secluded part of her property. A wooded area where she has a picnic table set up. You’d be all wrapped up in her riding jacket and pants, underneath them would be a pretty little number she picked for you, something simple and sexy like a matching bra and panty set with some lace. (I think Eivor is a bit too simple minded to prefer elaborate lingerie. Just show her something hot that she knows how to remove without finding a thousand clasps please and thank you)

hc that neil is very proud of being a fox, even more after he graduates. often, you will see him with his neon orange JOSTEN 10 hoodie, but he doesn't stop there. no.

Neil is the last og fox to graduate, so the others started to gift him one of their own hoodies. Neil has Renee's, Dan's, Allison's, Kevin's, Matt's, Nicky's and Andrew's fox hoodies (Aaron refused to give his own, Neil will steal it someday). He thought about hanging them all in the walls of his new home but he likes going out with them too much.

why s5 ocean is the turning point

Y’know, probably. 

As always I’m prepared to eat my words / things could be delayed till S6, but given the symbolism, basic plot progression, and character arcs, there are two plot points I think the season is going to massively progress forward and are two plot points, specifically, that didn’t have to be intertwined but seemingly are going to be so...

I think Season 5 is going to see progression on discovering what the Key of Aaravos is, if not knowing outright, and it is also going to see Aaravos being released from his prison.

And here’s why:

Archdragons, Puzzle Pieces, and Aaravos’ Release

While there are many dragons and many other powerful dragons shown in the shots with Luna Tenebris, when we see the imagined meeting of the archdragons with Queen Aditi, only four are shown - and this is consistent as well with the different factions pictured earlier. 

Only four archdragons are shown, and we have the names for all of them: Zubeia and Avizandum, who were given the looking glass to keep an eye on Aaravos; Rex Igneous, who was given the map on his tooth; and Domina Profundis, who appears to be looking over the actual prison in the Sea of the Cast Out, as well as foreshadowing previously that Aaravos’ prison was indeed underwater:

So all known archdragons, other than Sol Regem (who was already not king of the dragons and taken out of power by Luna Tenebris, seemingly, and is excluded from the shots including those involved in Aaravos’ imprisonment twice) who are involved have already been seen. Domina Profundis and the prison are the last piece of the puzzle. It would also make sense for Sol Regem to be excluded as he’s clearly not reliable to the Draconic royal family, given that he was willing to kill Zym no questions asked if it meant killing a human who just happened to wander into Xadia (hi, Callum). 

So 2/3 archdragons and their puzzle pieces are accounted for, with S5 clearly establishing Domina Profundis in both Ezran and co. going to her shell to call for aid as well as her being in the S5 poster of “Wicked Depths.” A tidebound mage was also the one to help create the prison in the first place, although we don’t know much about her.

Then there’s also the plot progression. Obviously things have changed, as originally Arc 2 was just S4-S5, and then S4-S6, but think of how much Arc 1 is driven by the plot point of returning Zym. A plot point that is wholly resolved by the end of the arc, as well as many core relationships and character choices coming to fruition. Aaravos getting out as the end of og arc 2 would’ve made sense, and even though arc 2 now encompasses S4-S7 under the Mystery of Aaravos title, he’s clearly not getting out in only S7, as that would be far too late.

Due to season four’s marketing I was thinking it would happen in well, S4, but looking back in retrospect it seems obvious that that wouldn’t be the case. After all, that would mean they would be trying to defeat him outside of his mirror twice in S5 and S6 and then fail both times, which while doable would have a mitigated impact, I think.

Before S4 marketing had started up, I guessed that Aaravos would get out in S5, since it’d allow arc 2 a chance to 1) establish itself in S4 and 2) give the kids time to try to defeat Aaravos in S6 once he’s out, fail, and then be accordingly victorious in S7. Classic 3-act-story structure, y’know? Otherwise it’ll be a little squashed into S6 and Aaravos won’t have a ton of time to be the more overt big bad we know he loves to be. 

Okay, cool - so Aaravos is probably getting out by the end of S5, nicely setting the stage for the final two seasons. 

What does that have to do with his Key?

Well besides the fact it’s called a key and all the associations that come with it, there are more than a few interesting shots that involve the Ocean rune on the cube being on full, pointed display. 

This one is a little more vague, as we don’t know as much (comparatively) about the Key of Aaravos, but there’s a few things.

1) The consistent use of the Ocean cube in scenes that have other thematic ties to S5’s motifs, i.e. darkness and dark magic (and subsequently drowning), its two opening shots having the Star and Ocean primal, one of Aaravos’ core mysteries being his prison and the cube being “a secret” for Callum to solve specifically with an emphasis on Earth and Ocean symbolizing the seasons and Star primal symbolizing Aaravos. There is also the scene in 4x01 in which Soren presses down on the Star sigil twice like it will yield some kind of response, as though he’s pressing a button.

2) The latest S5 clip mentions stars and navigation. This makes sense, as stars were used most predominantly to find your way at sea, and the Ocean primal is associated with navigation. 

TDP also borrows from an idea of the river of destiny / life, and the Key is also tied to destiny and playing into Aaravos’ hands. We know his primary desire is freedom, and Callum is connected to Freedom (sky arcanum) so those two coming into play would fit together nicely. 

V: Life is like a river. R: Oh great. That’s exactly what I was afraid of. V: You can’t see too far ahead. I can’t see at all, as I might’ve mentioned before. You don’t know where the river of life will bend and turn. You don’t know where it will go at all. R: How is that supposed to helpful? V: Don’t try to control where the river goes. There’s one thing you can know and control: yourself. Look at yourself. Who are you, Rayla? What do you stand for?

3) The cube is definitely tethered to this theme of dark and light, as it is associated with Aaravos and a lack of agency (darkness, control) but also flashes a bright light (discovery, truth, and possibly fulfilled control). The Ocean is tied to ideas of reflection (the moon) and transformation/freedom (sky). 

4) Thus far, all of the season’s marketing has had an emphasis on storms (which often foreshadow big life changes in TDP - the assassination mission and Rayla’s moment of truth, Sarai’s death, Callum’s dark magic use and Soren’s paralysis, Ezran’s homecoming as king, the beginning of S4 itself - and not necessarily for the best). The slogans and framing is also quite grim in ways that season 4 wasn’t: “the wicked depths” and “sink or swim” versus the more adventurous, grand one the S4 art pieces displayed. This kind of urgency fits with what we know so far, as Janai is likely going to lose her kingdom, Claudia is racing to meet Aaravos’ deadline, and the dragang are racing to stop her.

We also have parallels between the Relic Staff and the Key of Aaravos, as Ibis cites, “If you seek to return that staff to its true owner, you pose a greater threat to the world than I can allow,” and “It belonged to an elven wizard in Xadia, the Archmage Aaravos, master of all six primal sources. It is hidden in a box of keys because it is known as the Key of Aaravos, and legend says it unlocks something of great power in Xadia.” 

Now I’ve posited that the key isn’t necessarily to his prison, but rather a missing piece of Aaravos himself (specifically his chest piece) due to the show’s emphasis on hearts and how this initial removal may have de-powered him enough to imprison in the first place, but the result is the same either way: the Key is well, key in allowing Aaravos to get out.

5) It has been confirmed in interviews that there is a ‘deep magic’ spell in S5 and that Aaravos has a seen with a speech regarding ‘deep magic’ as well. Callum having part of what is needed to release Aaravos was nicely foreshadowed in both season four (“Having knowledge doesn’t mean knowing knowledge”) 

and in season two, directly tying the concept of a Key to both his unwanted ‘destiny’ and to Aaravos’ Game:

6) Which, the Key’s light and light’s associations with freedom are also properly aligned, if we want to look at S4′s one release sequence and the title sequences themselves:

Conclusion

S4 did a lot of leg work in 1) establishing where the characters are now and 2) letting them process a lot of the initial stages of their fractured relationships (Callum’s anger towards Rayla, Soren and Claudia’s first reunion/conversation, Soren and Viren’s first encounter) and this, I believe, is for the sake of 3) S5 being able to charge head first and develop these things further in tandem with an increasingly escalated plot. After all, if all the Big feelings had come out solely in S4 (and a great deal of them did) to the point of resolution with the season ending with just the map, the emotional stakes and plot stakes would’ve been uneven. 

Now, they’ll be on equal ground, naturally complementing each other, and thus I think that S5 is nigh absolutely when Aaravos is going out, and subsequently going to reveal at least something about his key, whether how it works, precisely what it’s used for, or both, just enough to bet money on it. Like $5, but still. Finally, a closing passage from the Book Two novelization, as a treat:

After the initial feeling of hopelessness that the journey had taken him far from the Banther Lodge, Callum realized his stepdad was writing to him about the rune cube Rayla had rescued. He’d always known that cube was important. Maybe now Rayla would start listening to him… and maybe now he could find out how he could use the mysterious cube.

Part One

Eddie Masterlist

It’s been three months since you and Eddie met and since then the two of you have gotten extremely close. He takes you to every show they have and you sit in for most practices.The rest of the guys were completely psyched to meet you, especially when you knew all of their names from being a fan, normally the fans they meet only remember Eddie's. You spend a lot of your free time together too even if that’s you reading and Eddie playing his guitar to learn a new song or create a new one. When he graduated last month you were the loudest person in the auditorium causing a scene for him because everyone needs to know how proud of him you are, Wayne really appreciated that.

Dustin has become such a nuisance since finding out how much time you spend together. He refuses to leave either one of you alone about when you’re going to get together, making teasing remarks when you’re all together hanging out and straight up asking you about it when it’s just you and him. You know he’s doing the same thing to Eddie, you laugh about it together in private, the two of you secretly wishing his teasing would come true. Because even though that first day the two of you met he said taking you to the concert the next day was a date, neither of you had actually acted like it was.

And since you gave Eddie the suggestion to put posters up around colleges for Corroded Coffin shows and have them places that minors could go, the band has gained a decent amount of traction. They have a bunch of fans now and after being asked by multiple people they started selling merch again. Eddie always makes sure that you get first dibs on each new piece they come out with since you’re his biggest fan. They’ve even gotten signed by a small record label and have an album coming out tomorrow.

You stand from your crouched position in front of your movies as a knock sounds on your door. You’re shocked when you see Nancy and Robin on the other side. The only person you were expecting today was Eddie.

“What are you guys doing here?”

“We’re picking your clothes for the release party tomorrow because your fashion sense is shit.” Robin brushes past you leading the way to your room while Nancy speaks. They had decided that they had enough of the two of you dancing around your feelings for the other and that they’d finally get a plan together. Step one was to make sure you looked hot at the release party of Corroded Coffins album.

“What? My fashion sense isn’t that bad.” Nancy and Robin look at you clad in sweatpants and a shirt that you obviously stole from Eddie before sharing a look with each other. 

“Okay fine so it’s not shit, that may have been too harsh Nance.” Robin quickly says to appease you and sends Nancy a look to tell her to play along. She then moves to your closet while you sit on the edge of your bed. “What are you planning on wearing tomorrow Y/n/n?”

“Just a pair of jeans and my Kiss shirt. And probably a jacket.” You nod your head towards the clothes you left sitting out on the desk.

“Is it your cropped Kiss shirt at least?” Nancy starts rummaging through your dresser drawers, you just nod. “That’s something at least. Where are all of your skirts?”

“They’re all in here it seems.” Robin leans back from your closet to look at Nancy who moves to stand next to her.

“Are you guys gonna be here long? Eddie should be on his way soon. I guess you guys could stay for movie night too though if you wanted.”

“Eddie’s coming over?”

“Well yeah, it’s movie night.” It comes out like everyone should know that by now when really how would they if it’s always just you and Eddie.

“Right, how could we forget?” Robin nudges Nancy and you catch the look she sends her making you suspect that they might be up to something.

“What are you two scheming?”

“Nothing, we’ll be back before the party tomorrow to get you ready.” You follow them out of your room just as the front door opens.

“Pizza has arrived Sweetheart! Oh, hey guys what are you doing here? You staying for movie night because I’m not sure there’s enough pizza for four of us.”

“We were just leaving Eds. See you tomorrow Y/n!” They both rush out talking to each other leaving you and Eddie alone in your home while they head next door to talk to Dustin about step two.

“What was that about?” His face scrunches up in confusion for why his friends left in such a hurry.

“Something about dressing me for the party tomorrow. I think they’re plotting something.” You shrug, taking the box from him and heading into the living room. “Do you wanna pick the movies while I make some popcorn?”

“No!” Eddie’s quick to answer knowing the catastrophe that will ensue if you make popcorn. “Last time you made popcorn you burnt it so bad the kitchen smelled like it for a week. I’ll make it, you grab some movies. I’ll watch whatever you want.”

“Even if I pick Grease again?”

“Especially if you pick Grease again!” He yells from your kitchen causing you to laugh. The first time you picked it he had complained without having seen it before. But now on a rare occasion he’d pick it.

The two of you start the night with The Thing and The Goonies quoting the films as you eat and try to toss popcorn into each other's mouths. Once the pizza is gone and Eddie makes another bag of popcorn you finally put Grease in. And there in the middle of the night in your living room the two of you jump around singing along to it and acting out parts of the movie together.

Halfway through Clue, which you put on next, you fall asleep head resting on Eddie’s shoulder and he’s quick to follow you.

Robin and Nancy find the two of you curled up on the couch together the next morning the tv screen blue from the movie ending.

“Are you sure they’re not already together and just messing with us?” 

“I’m sure. They would definitely be all over each other on a normal basis if they were together.”

“Gross Nance.”

“What? It’s true. Now which one of us is gonna wake them up?” Robin sighs already knowing it’s gonna be her.

“Alright love birds! Rise and shine!” She stomps over to the couch and rips the blanket off of the two of you as loud as she can. The last thing she wants is to end up shoving you off the couch again. 

“Robin? What are you doing here?” Your voice is full of sleep and you rub at your eyes to help wake yourself up. Eddie’s arms around you tighten before loosening so he can sit up.

“What time is it?”

“It’s like close to nine, maybe eight forty. Don’t you have things you have to do with the band?”

“Shit, yeah I do.” He climbs off the couch careful not to disturb you too much and crouches in front of you smiling to himself at how you’re already trying to go back to sleep. “I’ll be back later to pick you up Sweetheart.” 

“Mm, see you then Eds.” He runs a hand through your hair, kisses the top of your head, and stands to go nodding to Robin and Nancy as he heads out.

“Thanks for the wake up call girls.”

“Y/n, come on you gotta get up. We have to find your outfit for tonight.”

“Okay you guys do that, I’ll sleep.” Robin and Nancy look at each other before grabbing your arms and pulling you up. “Come on guys it’s early can’t you just give me one more hour. If you don’t let me sleep I’ll be exhausted tonight.”

“Nope, we brought coffee. You can drink it once we’re in your room.” You groan at Nancy’s words but accept the fact that you won’t be sleeping anymore.

“Why are you guys here so early anyway? The party isn’t until seven.”

“Yeah well you need to drink this,” Robin hands you a cup of hot coffee as you sit on your bed, “and we need to meticulously pick out your clothes.”

“Right and then you need to shower and get dressed.”

“Then I’ll go get us some food or something. And after we eat Nance will do your hair and makeup.”

“I don’t see how that will take ten hours or why you guys are making such a big deal out of this. But fine go at it, find my clothes for tonight I’ll sit here with my coffee.”

By the time you’re done drinking it it’s been an hour and a half and they’re still arguing over what you should wear. There’s clothes on your floor in two piles, a maybe and a definitely not pile. Your two friends can’t seem to agree on anything for the life of them and you decide that you could probably sneak in a twenty minute nap. Just as your eyes close and you start to doze off Robin hits your foot to get your attention.

“What do you think Y/n, which outfit do you wanna wear?” Nancy and Robin are both holding up different clothing. Nancy a short black dress you had forgotten existed and Robin one of your tighter skirts and a blank tank top. “You’d wear a jean jacket with either fit.” 

You sigh and get up walking over to them. You grab your Kiss shirt you originally planned on wearing on the way over. Their faces drop as you walk past them to the closet where they still haven’t pulled out your favorite jean skirt.

“Here, does this work for you guys? The Kiss shirt is non negotiable, Eddie and I are supposed to be matching.”

“Maybe we were too quick to judge your fashion sense. Now go shower while we pick your shoes out.” Nancy shoves you out of the room before you can argue otherwise. 

Admittedly you start to doze off after the warm water starts to steam up your bathroom. It’s possible you took a five minute standing power nap. You had only gotten maybe five hours of sleep before they came over. You’d feel bad for Eddie for having to actually do stuff today but he’s used to not sleeping much. The only times he really does sleep is when he stays over your place or vice versa.

By the time you’re dressed and you’ve all eaten the takeout Robin went out to get it’s almost one. You’re definitely more awake than before thanks to the coffee Nancy keeps pumping into your system. You’re still arguing about how you don’t need them to do your hair or makeup though.

“Definitely sexy disheveled, I’ve been rocking out all day, hair.” Nancy hums in response to Robin as they discuss while you’re stuck in your desk chair.

“You want messy hair? You could’ve had me nap for like thirty minutes and then just run your fingers through it to fix it up a bit.”

“Nope, now stay still so I can do this.” Nancy teases and pulls at your hair for the next twenty minutes while Robin keeps you entertained by telling you about how Steve got gum stuck in his hair and when she offered to cut it out he threw a fit.

“Can we skip the make up? I’ve had enough of feeling like a doll for the two of you to play with today.” You hated when your mom did this to you growing up and you hate that your friends have been doing it all day. “Besides, don't you guys have to go get ready or help Steve with his hair or something?”

“She has a point Nance, I did tell Steve I’d help him once I was ready.”

“Alright, fine. We’ll see you later Y/n.”

“Yeah, bye guys thanks for your help.” You wave to them before shutting your front door. You lean your back against it and slide down sighing. Today has been such a long day already.

Dustin comes over a little after six since Eddie’s picking him up too. He finds you laying on the couch with a book when he walks through the door.

“Hey Dusty, how’s your day been?”

“Good, what about yours?” He sits next to you after you straighten up.

“It was alright.” You shrug. “Nancy and Robin were over playing dress up like all day.” Dustin cringes a little bit at your words, he told them not to do that part of the plan and that you’d hate it.

“Oh? Where are they now?”

“Probably getting ready, I kicked them out a few hours ago. How’d you sleep last night?”

“Good, I stayed up playing video games but then I slept in this morning. Why?”

“You’re in charge of keeping me awake tonight. Eddie and I were up really late last night and then they showed up so goddamn early, I barely got any sleep.” You’ve never been so jealous of your friend before.

“Why didn’t you nap after sending them home?”

“Nancy pumped me full of coffee but I’m sure I’ll crash halfway through the party.”

“Alright, you can count on me.” Dustin knows almost better than anyone how you need sleep to be able to function. He only had to be the one to wake you up for school till you graduated. 

“You wanna play a game or something?”

When Eddie enters your house he’s met with yours and Dustin's laughter and his smile gets bigger. 

“Dustin come on, you want a snack you gotta come get it.”

“I can’t get over there! Just toss me something.” Eddie pauses in the doorway of your dining room where Dustin’s standing on a chair in the corner and he can see your head peeking around the doorway to the kitchen. You gasp when you see him.

“Looks like a lava monster has appeared Dusty.” He knows you’re playing the floor is lava immediately. It’s something you and Dustin have played since you were kids and even though you’re older now Eddie still walks in on the two of you playing it a lot.

He starts to make gurgled groaning noises to play along and slowly starts to make his way to where you are. You let out a small scream when you see him coming closer to you and start moving on the kitchen counters to get to the other doorway.

“Too slow.” Eddie's deep grumbled voice greets your ears right before he grabs you and pulls you off of the counter.

“You moved too fast!” You laugh leaving your arms around his neck while resting your forehead against his chest.

“Are you guys ready to head out?”

“Yeah, let’s go.”

During the beginning of the party you stay hanging around the boys and your friends but after having a couple drinks you’re quick to become friendly with one of the other bands that the record label invited. You had gone off to get another drink when you started getting close to their drummer. You stay by the bar and chat with him while Eddie stands against the wall with his arms crossed in his group pouting.

“You good man?” Steve asks as he notices the annoyed look on his friend's face as he stares at the two of you.

“They don’t even have that good of music.” He’s met the members of Nirvana a few times as Corroded Coffin went into the studio to make the album. They were still writing their first album.

“Initiate phase two.” Robin nudges Dustin as she overhears Eddie being jealous. He rolls his eyes but makes his way over to his friend regardless.

“They seem to be getting pretty close, I wonder if he’ll be her new boyfriend.” Eddie chokes on his drink at Dustin’s words.

“Boyfriend? No way, uh uh. She told me drummers aren’t her thing. No offense Gareth.”

“None taken man, she’s your girl.” His own drummer shrugs and goes back to talking to a fan.

“Hate to break it to you Eddie but I think anyone who can play an instrument is her type.”

“It doesn’t matter she’s my girl.” His friend's words had filled him with confidence because yeah you are his girl. He’s not about to let some nobody take that away from him.

“Does she know that?” Eddie gulps and watches as you laugh at something he said.

“I’ll be back Dustin.”

“Oh hey Eddie.” You greet your best friend as he stops beside you swinging an arm over your shoulder.

“Hey Sweetheart.” 

“This is Dave, he’s in a band.”

“We’ve met darlin’.” He squeezes you against him doing what he can to show the man in front of him that you’re his.

“Hey man, how’s it going?”

“Good, you care if I steal her away for a bit?”

“Go for it.” Eddie nods at him in thanks and pulls you towards a secluded part of the venue.

“What is it Eds?”

“Thought you didn’t like drummers Sweetheart?” He would’ve just asked you out if it weren’t for his nerves acting up. You understood what this was though from how possessive he just seemed to be.

“I do but I’m more into guitarists and lead singers with curly hairy and pretty brown eyes.” You smile up at him while stepping closer to him, holding onto his jacket.

“Oh yeah?”

“Mmhm, in fact there’s a specific one I have my eye on. I think he’s gonna make it big.”

“You think so?” He leans his head down closer to you while his hands go to your waist to pull you closer.

“I know so.”

“Well I think if he makes it big he’ll be taking his number one fan with him.”

“He better.” And with that you reach up for his face to connect your lips.

“Mission successful.” Nancy and Robin high five as they watch the two of you come together.

The night before they main event budokan hall, the lovers have a tag match against each other [Aug 10, 2018 - LINK]. It’s mostly a silly no-touch affair that’s quickly broken up by the BC OG but the emotional core still comes through in the image of Kota standing in the ring, waiting for Kenny to tag in, with his hand over his heart

i love Kenny’s calm certainty in the face of something he has always feared: coming up short against Kota Ibushi. It says so much of his growth as a person, and the deepened understanding of the bond between the lovers.

Earlier this year the lovers have an interview with NJPW’s magazine. When asked about their relationship, Kenny answers with this:

“It's a real life Your Name. Our hearts move the same way together. I guess everybody wants to say "we're a couple!" [laughs] I don't know whether it's as simple to express as that. We're two people that share one heart. That's what I want to say."

Kota Ibushi vs Hiroshi Tanahashi [Aug 12, 2018 - Official LINK, Unofficial LINK]

when Kota was 18 he moved on his own to Chiba so that he could work as a baggage handler at Narita airport while he pursued his dream of becoming a wrestler. if he wins this match, it will be his first time winning the G1, his first time main eventing wrestle kingdom, his first chance at the IWGP Heavyweight championship since Kenny cost him his match against AJ Styles in 2015.

the only person now standing between him and the realization of his childhood dreams is Hiroshi Tanahashi. Kota’s Wrestling God.

He first faced Tanahashi in a tag match in 2009 while he was still at DDT. since then he has fought Tana one-on-one 3 times (2015 G1, 2017 G1, 2017 Power Struggle) and beaten him once.

Their last match was for Tana’s IC title, and in the wake of that loss Kota was approached by Cody Rhodes, setting him on the path that brought him here. to this moment.

Kota’s new finisher, the one he debuted during the 2017 G1, is called Kamigoye, ”to surpass God”

now is his chance to do it.

Alright everyone listen up, I’m gonna talk about my participation in the Sexyman tournament and also reveal the first and probably last Heritagesona to ever see the light of the sun.

First up, I love to see you guys get creative with all this like you did with the other two Sexyman tournaments. Be it Propaganda-Posters, Art, posts, whatever. Those were already the highlight of the og True Sexyman contest, so I hope to see them make a return. Especially if they are propaganda for me.

But, and this should really be clear, please don’t get weird with it. You can make as many jokes on my account as you want but I really don’t want to wake up one day and see me drawn in a… let’s say unfortunate way. I don’t think any of you would actually go that far, but I still wanted to make it clear. The other rp blogs pose as fictional characters, but don’t forget you’re dealing with a real person this time.

Now, let’s talk about something more interesting. After seeing the drawing of me in the jojo pose walking towards the greggs (which is an amazing piece of art, definitely check out the artist @lordchairesq) I realized that none of you know what I look like, which is normally great in tearms of Internet anonymity, but might become a problem when it comes to propaganda posts.

Sooooo, may I introduce you to:

Alright, let’s go through this.

First thing you probably noticed was the monitor strapped to my head. I had a bunch of ideas for how to hide my face, but none of them really worked out the way I wanted to, so I settled for this.

Fortunately for me, I have the natural twink body type. We’re talking rivaling Clive Dove levels of Twinkness. That’s a pretty good pre-condition for a Sexyman tourney.

Also yes, due to popular demand I did add cat ears. Kinda.

Moving further down, I also got headphones. ADHD sucks, but at least I have these things to send sound waves strong enough to break metal down my eardrum to drown anything around me out. The ones I always wear are wired ones, but because the cord I tried to draw looked incredible shitty I decided to just act like they are Bluetooth ones.

And now we come to the most important part of my character design. Admittedly, I have no idea what they are called in English, but it’s a pretty thin jacket that works kinda like a hoodie. I own 5 of these things, but only one has an ace flag sown onto the shoulder. That’s right, this Sexyman is unfuckable.

I don’t actually own the T-Shirt that I wear here. I don’t even have a shirt in this color. But I needed some more connections to this blog.

What you can’t see here is that I also have an ace ring. It’s nothing special, just a simple black ring.

Lastly I also have some boots that I love to wear. They are only meant for winter/fall, but I always wear them into spring as far as I can. If you think you recognize them no you don’t.

And that was everything! Obviously, if you want to, you guys are free to change some things about the design if you want (for example me in the news reporter outfit) or throw in a reference to something that happened on here or whatever.

i did my post about merch and this is a general price guide to go along with that, but because it's so subject to change, i have reblogs turned off and will probably delete this after a bit when it's no longer relevant/correct. these prices are not based on original price but rather what you can expect to pay for it now if you actually want to get your hands on it.

this is a lot more informal and just based off what I've seen over the last 2-3 months of digging. lower-end average (not the best, but generally good enough) prices are listed in USD (since all of this was originally sold in the US, its pretty hard to get a hold of elsewhere).

note: the biggest tip i can give you is to look on Mercari. there's a lot fewer professional collectors/speculators ("investors" 🙄) over there, but also fewer listings in general. that said, definitely check other places before buying something, and Mercari doesn't have search alert emails like eBay. also, take a peek at Facebook Marketplace! I have seen one or two things there if you look "outside your area" with shipping.

original posters: (in mint condition) close to 10$ but sometimes pushing 20$. reproductions fall in this range too tbh.

pins vary based on what the pin is and if it still has its backing. most pins are still available direct too so i haven't paid much attention to their prices. I think like 10$ (give or take a few dollars) for the buttons (4-pack) is around what I've found. side note: double check any pins being sold against han cholo's catalogue and my con promos post, because if it's not in there it's a fan's design, which 1) you really should buy direct from them, 2) might be CHEAPER from them. i saw someone selling pins for 30$ when brand new from the fan artist they're 24$. same thing for the jewelry. there's a reseller who is my nemesis for marking up items and trying to make them seem rarer by calling them con exclusive when theyre for sale online right now. i cannot stress enough how much you should cross-check this stuff.

her universe clothes: this varies based on what it is, but in general you should be looking to get it for less than original list price. even if it's barely used, it is still used, and you will find it lower than original eventually, so use that as your general guide. for the jackets, you can get as good as 40$ off sometimes (I’ve seen the adora bomber that retailed at 70$ listed between 25-75$). the bomber is definitely the most common item i've seen, usually around 25$, but i haven't checked the situation over on poshmark/thredup so there might be more variety there. (also, i have the links to all the original clothing listings in my merch post, which includes the original sizing chart!)

action figures: they list for 800+, but listed doesn't equal sold at all. i havent seen any movement on the listings i've found (which span up into four figures, btw). i think i saw them sold for 450$ once. sometimes people list just the BOX for 150$ so good fucking luck if you want this one and make sure to read the listing carefully. also, if you want to look around for these, add "-keshi" (on sites that support it) to remove the super7 keshis from the search, which are these weird 7$ rubber things for the OG show that remind me of the straw buddies.

can you tell the difference between the items that collectors have targeted and the regular merch? lmao. speaking of collecting: NIB = new in box. basically, it's in the same condition as if you bought it directly from the store. sometimes you might see NIP for "new in package" (think the buttons, which obviously don't have a box).

dolls: okay, listen. i've seen adora sell for 90$ and i've also seen her sit around and wait to be sold for 40$. every single one of these can go for three figures at times, but i would say an average list price (they're super over-priced, so you can make lower offers after a while of no movement, i've seen 100$ come off listings as time went on) is around 70-100$ (NIB) and a good one is closer to 40-50$. she-ra (regular) tends to be cheapest and easiest to get below this price point. the lowest ive seen NIB for them individually is 30$ each for glimbow, 39$ for adora, 25$ for she-ra, 45$ for she-ra+swift wind, and 57$ for catra (note: catra is the most expensive and rare to find below three figures. she sometimes goes for over 200$). i've also seen the entire BFS go as a 50$ lot NIB and the BFS + catra go as a lot for 30$ out of box so factor that how you will. these prices range a Lot. if you wait and are patient, you can get a more reasonable price eventually. (there's currently a lot of she-ra/glimmer/bow listed as 300$ despite she-ra being way more common and regularly going for $50. people are stupid) OH RIGHT i forgot the sdcc exclusive. yeah 100$ list is average on that. best price ive seen (initially listed) recently is 80$ NIB. that said, i've seen them sell as low as 31$ when the packaging was damaged. because prices are so variable, i've seen damaged out-of-boxes go for more than NIBs (see: 115$ damaged catra vs 57$ NIB) because the seller/buyer were pricing based off of a higher listing. if someone is trying to sell something damaged or with a slightly off screening (imperfect paint/print job), you can lean on that to get the price lower (there's a glimmer with a Hilariously skewed screening - and missing accessories + messy hair - listed for 1$ on ebay right now).

the Lootcrate and Sonic stuff varies based on what it is (and if it's in a lot) but they tend to span 5-20$. usually they aren't sold individually so it's hard to price.

the stickers/tattoo/coloring sheets usually go in lots but range 2-15$

the target toy sword/shield and target costume should be something like 30-45$ for a good NIB price (i've seen them go up to 75$ as a list price tho). i've seen the costume go for as low as 10$ if it's used.

i havent seen enough listings (or any in some cases) to get a vibe on the prices for anything else.

these prices are just based on what's going down right now. they'll go up around the holidays and then lower again, and it's possible in a year they're all way higher or way lower than currently. collectors have targeted some of these things and its so obvious when the con exclusive pin sets can sell for 12$ and the (originally 15$!) dolls from target can go for 160$. it's super annoying and i hope all of them choke <3 but maybe their stupid speculating will taper off and it will get easier to get stuff reasonably. we can only hope

You know I will never forgive the scream writers for doing the Macher family in the recent movies. Most notable, is Vince. The fact that they killed Vince off so early completely baffles me. Like he never even got to meet Sam. The fact that they have TWO characters related to the OG killers and they never have them interact or even meet one another was absolutely devastating.

Like Vince doesn't even get one of the character posters like the others, they gave him nothing.

Like it could have been so interesting having him and Sam interact like there's an interesting dynamic that you could play with. Like how Vince probably knew for a long time that he was related to Stu and how Stu's legacy impacted him and his family vs Sam who has tried to hide from it and has learned about it in the last 10 years whilst dealing with hallucinations of her father.

Heck, theres plenty you could do with Vince and the other characters, like Chad and Mindy. Like an easy callback you could make Is Chad and Vince arguing and accusing the other of being the killer like how Stu and Randy did in the first movie.

Heck, there's a really easy one you could do if you had let him live up to the meeting at the Meeks house when Sam reveals that Billy is her father and Vince is shocked as a callback to when Billy revealed his true motive.

Heck, it could be an easy solution to Richie in Amber's plan near the end with the whole trying to spin that Sam is the mastermind. Their plan makes absolutely no sense when you remember that both Richie and Sam had to have taken police reports after the attack at the hospital. Like how were they gonna say Sam was the only killer when Richie himself said in the report there's another killer. It's really so simple, they could frame Sam AND Vince and try to spin that the two of them wanted revenge against Sydney and went on a killing spree because they're both related to the killers.

And if they wanted to bring Stu back that's another good conflict they could have with Vince and his uncle.

BLEACH: The Thousand Year Blood War Ep 11 Reactions and Thoughts

Overall reaction:

We're finally here! Everything but the Rain. This week we have the return of the fathers, the sons (and sun), and some ghosts from the past. Unlike last week's epic battle, this one goes for of an atmospheric approach, with beautifully animated rain and action, darker colours, and a first meeting that almost belongs in a shoujo series. I don't have too much to say for this one, but I still thought I'd give me two cents about it.

Highlights:

OG Tenth division - aka, the return of the son: I was looking forward to this one, and it certainly delivered. I couldn't stop grinning throughout, starting with Rangiku's appearance all the way to Isshin's exit to the World of the Living. I would've liked to see Isshin's more goofy face when lifting Toshiro, but honestly, that proud, happy smile he gives him is pretty wholesome. Seeing Toshiro act like such a brat had me cackling (out future Tenth Division captain ladies and gentlemen), and Rangiku being the one that's holding all of this division together somehow, she's a champ. If nothing else, it's now thanks to this scene Tumblr has been flooded with gif of younger Toshiro, so there's that!

Gin and Tosen: I didn't expect to react the way I did seeing these two again. They're ghosts from BLEACH past, and I've come to like them for different reasons since the series ended. When they appeared, I clapped and couldn't stop smiling. It was good to see them again for sure!

Isshin and Masaki vs White: I loved how the setting for the fight was animated, with darker colours lit by streetlights and the rain being central. It gave the fight an atmospheric feel, both somber and grounded, it's hard to describe. Isshin's powers looked awesome, and Masaki got to show off too:

And then there's their meeting afterwards. I remember not thinking too much of it in the manga, but here, there's just something charming and sweet about it, like something out of a shoujo anime. My only critique, and it's an absolute nitpick, is that because there was so much detail in this scene, the blood on Isshin looked flat and was a little distracting.

The ending: now that's a good way to end the episode. Again, I love that they've included more content for Uryu, and seeing that moment he stands out in the rain and looks up to see Jugram, I got shivers. Again, they went for atmosphere here, and the lack of dialogue really sold the foreboding feeling this moment gave off.

We've also got more cut content, this time with Isshin comment on Rangiku's, uh, assets. It's interesting what fan service they're choosing to exclude, and it makes me wonder how they'll approach other fan service scenes (if they even include them in the first place). I admit, part of the reason I thought they went for a later time slot was to not only allow for more graphic violence, but also to keep more fan service (just look at what they did with Sui Feng's uniform in the first preview trailer, they ditched the white cloth she used to wear beneath on her chest), so this is surprising to me.

Overall, another solid episode to add to a so far amazing adaption. Final [joint] episode next week! We'll be getting the conclusion of the mini arc and, if the poster is any indication, Ichigo confronting Zangetsu and getting his two blades. I'm not ready for this part of the adaption to end!!

I saw some ST making some 2022 posts so I wanna do my own.

Last year for me? Was downright awful. It was the worst year of my life. My best friend/ex I still loved fucking died before I could tell him I still loved him and two months later my fellow indigenous friend passed. Both sudden, both weird health issues. 

I had 5+ friendship breakups, two ending after almost 20 years.

At the shit end of the year I also found out my twin flame hooked up with the main who abused me and cheat on me for 3 years. During our final breakup. In my bed.

So yeah. Bad year.

I was never a casual ST fan, I’ve stated this before. I loved Steve an abnormal amount, I related to Robin the second we met her. I went to a ST costume party at a local barcade in 2019. Like it was more than a fan level, it was a hyperfixation.

But then we got season 4.

All the new ships, some old ones getting better scenes. We got our amazing new characters, ofc they killed our favorite.

But I started writing. Really writing. I had started to write fanfic because of Reddie brainrot, but I didn’t fully start writing until Steddie. And I don’t just mean fanfic.

Writing fanfic opened me back up to creative writing as a whole. I’ve been writing my memoirs, some og novel ideas.

And the fandom got me closer to my now best friend Ash, it allowed me to make a new one in @okayhotshots. When I reconnected with one of my exes who is now my inseparable best friend and the Steve to my Robin, we nonstop talked about the show and watched the final two episodes together while sobbing. This fandom has given me everything.

My best friends I have currently also don’t judge me for it. Hell, one of my best friends bought me an Eddie poster for Christmas and regularly explains fandom terms to people for me.

This fandom kept me GOING in all my darkness. Thank you guys. Thank you for reading my brainrot and my fics and being so kind.
