Great news for anyone (like me) who has been wishing Marvel and DC still did crossovers: Marvel has announced Deadpool/Batman #1, in stores this September! Alongside the main storyline, the issue will feature several backup stories, including a Daredevil/Green Arrow team-up written by Kevin Smith and illustrated by Adam Kubert.

Matt has previously had two team-ups with Batman, which were very fun, but I personally think his character aligns even more compellingly with Ollie's, so I can't wait to see what kinds of shenanigans these guys get up to together.

Following the profound lack of care and coherence from Marvel over the past few years when it has come to Danny, I'm unfortunately approaching this project with some degree of world-weary skepticism. "Four-issue miniseries" also doesn't fill me with confidence regarding Marvel's investment in this comic. BUT! I love anything that digs into the Iron Fist lore and the minutiae of K'un-Lun's history, so this sounds like something that could really, really appeal to me if handled well. Beyond even that, the sheer relief of having Danny back in the land of the living and starring in his own series is, to me, the most important thing here. I will be supporting this comic in every way I can; the best way to ensure Danny's future is to show Marvel how much we care.

HUGE NEWS!

In 2020, Elsa Sjunneson became the first blind writer to work on Daredevil when she included a Matt Murdock cameo in the audio serial Jessica Jones: Playing With Fire. Now, finally, she is getting to write the actual comic, at least for one issue, hopefully opening the doors for more DD work in the future!

Here is the solicitation for Daredevil volume 8 #8, which is slated for publication in April:

"A dragnet is closing around Matt Murdock, A.K.A. DAREDEVIL! Police on both sides of the law are hunting him, something vicious with a deep connection to Matt’s very soul is hunting his friends and, in the midst of that chaos, an old foe with the blood of Matt’s closest allies on his hands returns…"

The writing credits for the issue are "Saladin Ahmed & more", so presumably, Sjunneson is included in "& more". April cannot get here fast enough, as far as I'm concerned. I'm very excited, for her and for the comic as a whole, which has gone far too long without input from blind/visually impaired creators.

The celebratory issue was already disclosed here but the new info we've got is that Ashley Allen is also featured as a writer. For those who don't know, she's writing Magik. And you know what that means? MAGIK AND STEPHEN TEAM-UP? MANIFESTING SO HARD FOR THAT TO HAPPEN PLEAAAASE

Plus Nightmare cover? I was already invested in this book, you don't have to convince me any further, Marvel.

In addition, yeah, the solicitation says it all, Derek will be definitely writing the new Doctor Strange book, which really makes me so excited. Obviously, Jed will always hold a special place in my heart, but if he had to move on, let's hope for the best. And luckily no big event fueled by synergy to ruin Derek's shot at the good doctor.

In other news, Gabby teaming up with Clea? That's just amazing news. It means writers are more and more invested in using Clea in their stories, and that she's getting enough spotlight to be her own character. I'm all down for the Clea propaganda.

Lastly, it's not confirmed but I really loved this Silver Surfer cover paying homage to the og Defenders. I really hope to see Stephen and Norrin, I adore them so much and they're just so underrated :')
