“There, is that good,” Mike sighed, turning to Harvey, exasperated after his sixth time trying—and failing—to tie his bowtie. 

Harvey took a look at Mike, unable to stop the laugh that escaped his mouth at seeing the terribly lopsided bowtie. Unexpectedly, Harvey slid into the middle seat, closing the distance between the two. Reaching his arms out, he took the piece of fabric and worked his magic, fingertips brushing against Mike’s skin ever so slightly, sending jolts of electricity down his spine. Harvey expertly tied the fabric around his neck, Mike’s breath catching in his throat when he felt him tightening the knot around his neck. If he closed his eyes, it was almost as if Harvey was tightening a collar—

Oh fuck no. His mind was not going there. He shouldn’t be getting butterflies at Harvey doing something as simple as fixing his bowtie, but he couldn’t help but find it almost intimate. He was practically in Mike's face, clouding his thoughts, and he could feel Harvey’s hot breath on his face, a hint of mint and scotch in his breath. His lips were mere inches away and it was dizzying, but before Mike could do anything he might regret, Harvey scooted back into his seat. Mike was almost disappointed. For a brief moment, Mike wondered how Harvey’s soft lips would feel on his, how he’d taste.

And so he gets up, taking deep breaths, trying to appear as normal as possible, and just as he’s about to take a step away from the bed, Tommy’s hand shoots up and wraps around Buck’s wrist loosely, from where he’s still spread out on the bed, now propping himself up on his elbow.

“Baby, you okay?” he asks, and Buck looks at him, sees the worry in his eyes, the small crease between his eyebrows, as he’s looking Buck up and down looking for any sign of something being wrong. Shit. It’s annoying sometimes, how quickly he became so well-attuned to Buck, how he knows him so well, and he’s so damn perceptive. Sometimes it’s adorable, and hot, and fills Buck with so much affection. Right now, it’s a nuisance. 

“Yeah. Yeah, I’m fine.” Buck smiles. Or, he tries, because at that moment he tries to step away again, and a searing jolt of pain shoots down his leg again, and he releases a breath that sounds like he was punched in the gut.

“Yeah, you’re clearly not fine.” Tommy raises an eyebrow, but his eyes are still full of concern. He tugs on Buck’s wrist lightly. “Come back here,” he pats the space on the bed Buck just vacated, and it’s so tempting, and he’s in pain, and he just wants to sit back down. But he’s also stubborn, and he decided that he’s fine and that he doesn’t want Tommy to worry for no reason.

headcanon that gilan, will, and horace made up a handshake as a joke during the burning bridge, but they continued to unironically do it when they saw each other. and they probably knew they wouldn't always have all three of them there, so they made part of it able to be done with only two people. when horace and will reunited in siege of macindaw? they did it. gilan and will reunite at the ranger gathering in kings of clonmel? they did it. they are just some silly guys with a silly handshake (crowley tried to get in on it, but they just called him old LMFAO, meanwhile halt rolls his eyes everytime he sees them do it)
