Yeah I really like the parallels here between WWX and Little apple.#Specifically the sense of how we get a nod to how he's changed.#Little apple and WWX have both grown a little less lean and hungry (one literally the other metaphorically)#This whole episode is basically about WWX's desire for something peaceful and domestic in his life.#and here is little apple - his first companion from the start of his new life - changed to something softer.#Very much a 'look how far we have come moment' that is rather subtle but enjoyable.

#cats #outing myself once again as someone whos not attune whatsoever to human culture but - in all honesty I do not know #what 'psspsspss' means despite loving cats my entire life hghj.. I've just seen people online describe that as how you call a cat #but I have never in my life witnessed someone call a cat by making that noise or made that noise myself. I can't even think of an example o #it so I genuinely don't even know what that's supposed to be but. Included because I've seen it so much it must be something to someone #even when I was a kid I pretty much always just meowed to cats and tried to sound exactly like them or whatever meow I associated with them #obviously not literally saying “ME OW” but doing an actual cat meow. often times a kind of 'prrrow' sort of noise where you trill your tong #ue then lead into a softer vocal tone .. maybe like 'mrrrrauh' or something? Or sometimes just a trilling chirp immitating the #cat's ''mrrrrp'' they do sometimes. I used to mimic small kittens to get the attention of cats #with their like very high pitches squeky whine with a little bit of air out the nostrils at the end to imitate the sound of them having #tiny lungs that don't hold much air so with a long loud 'mew' it's sometimes a little strained near the end #Though usually I just imitate the cat that I'm around at the time. Sometimes I have done kind of a combination kissy lip sort of noise #tongue clicking. almost like tapping on the back of your front teeth with your tongue and sucking in. almost makes kind of a squirrel noise #ANYWAY... curiouse....

it's so interesting that gideon opens his heart so quickly and completely and irrevocably to twig, while regarding mishka -- a parallel little sister/kid figure with some worrying hag magic attached, who also is in a situation similar to and has overlapping trauma with his own; they both have the scars of manacles around their wrists and are exploited for some inborn capacity other people want to make use of -- with such measured distanced distrust. and any reason you want to imagine there makes so much sense! it could be it's just too much like his own situation and he can't go there without getting into contact with things in himself he'd rather not feel or remember. might be instinctive flinch-away from still dealing with what happened to twig (and then jabberwock party wipe horror on top of that as a further attachment anxiety booster -- he didn't see kremy die since he's the first to go, but he sure gets to hear the story afterwards), and not wanting to risk that pain again so soon. twig meeting him at a moment where he was ready to let someone into his fiercely guarded in-group, and mishka didn't? just plain differences in personal chemistry (again... mishka is a lot like him in a lot of ways. perhaps. too much for comfort from some angles)?

if his trauma brain has decided that NO I've got kremy under one wing and twigsy under the other and sorry kid I only have two fucking wings, nothing is ever going to take this from me again while I'm alive to fight for it (the way they took my dad and my home and all those years of my life)... biggest FAIR ENOUGH GID! I guess it's natural to have some trust issues #considering the shit they're going through the last fifteen or so episodes I can't begrudge them that #can kremy look at her and NOT see some shade of gideon tho. the old lady trying to get her husband back sure woke something in him #I feel like this must too even tho being kremy he might not necessarily act on it in a way we'd consider like. helpful haha #I love the incredibly stark in-group out-group distinction that exists in gideon's world it's so fascinating #he's SO protective and deeply kind with the people he loves and a borderline monster with people he doesn't care about (most of them)#which means he's not only content but HAPPY to be kremy's attack dog b/c like. it's not like he cares what happens #to people he doesn't care about! check and mate happy gator husbandwife happy life. and yet he loves very sincerely when he does #which is presumably why he finds it so scary. all that and also the cake chad. a deceptively complex man #(kremy has a different hilarious in-group out-group thing going on in that his in-group seems to be literally just him and gid hfkashf #he'll do things because they matter to gideon but I think outside of the two of them there is no one but maybe the unicorns #that kremy would not sell to satan for one corn chip to save his own skin. Venoms GGST design has been on my mind lately...

I don't know if I'll be able to explain this properly, but I've said before that I really like how open and relaxed his new outfit looks. But recently I've been looking closer and it looks a lot more... Romantic?

Venoms new outfit looks like something you'd wear to a date or a wedding... much to think about...

#the wedding vibe comes a little bit from the white blazer and maroon/pink top (hard to tell in the trailer)#but the way his belt is shaped now puts more emphasis on the buckle. and to me the buckle lools like two conjoined rings #the ribbon underneath obviously has the heart but it also looks like a wedding decoration. like a banner or a part of an arch?#I might be thinking too deeply about this- but either way!#having an outfit that reads as so much softer with more of an emphasis on romance feels like Growth #... I will get to it somehow hell or high water o7 #T-E purrs!! they can do that!! it's part of their genetic alterations and I want to play with that too as well as the horrors!!#now don't get me wrong either The Horrors are one of my fav things to write but it's chiaroscuro y'know you need the contrast #it can't be a fight for personal autonomy all the time sometimes it needs to be T-E's huge kitty eyes or Helios being a dork #all this might be unnecessary I just get a little self conscious sometimes about how full-grit my writing can be wehh #holding my creatures in my hands. they are capable of such a beautiful joy. it's actually vital that they are #since I'm rambling anyways: huge part of what I want to do with T-E's pre campaign rp is start pulling them out of their shell #they start the planned game still stuck on their rules but it's talking to people that's gonna put them in a place where like #they know there's something else out there. they want it. they feel so much guilt for wanting it but it's the WANTING that's important!!#helios can't do that on his own because he doesn't know either. neither of them know jack about what exists beyond their narrow purview #making a HA clone to me is in part an examination of how miitary as industry will always result in steadily increasing dehumanisation #it's the commodification of a human body to ever increasing heights. soldiers to products to nothing but parts to be scrapped #military as an endless churn less for the sake of any kind of protection and more for the sake of resources. capital. money #it's part of what makes HA so fascinating to me y'know? the way it takes that concept to a far flung conclusion. how bad can it get #the other part is playing someone realising for the first time it's possible to break from what's expected of them #the wonder. the guilt. the disbelief. all of it carefully hidden. it's a huge part of what's so compelling about writing them to me #three huge cornerstones of T-E are: masking - military - the horror of having to exist in a body.#that last one is my taking the weird sensory relationship I have to Flesh/mind and doing horror with it dw too much about that njbkhjv #okay okay I think I'm done this got a little out of hand I'm just like #there's so MUCH about thirteen/T-E that makes me insane. alas I'm tired and it takes me like 4 hours to write a simple post sobs #anywaysss that's my ramble. every time i open synthv2 to maaaybe start working on one of my ten thousand wips i slap genbu plus on that bad boy and spend 20 minutes getting distracted by 1) how cutie genbu plus sounds and 2) how scared i am that genbu is gonna crash the program again

#he sounds ADORABLE and he wants this software DEAD #i keep saying this but its shocking how much he sounds like his standard. just a biiit warmer #and has a more natural sounding (but kinda hard to control) falsetto. the warmth is sooo sweet tho i keep hearing him say like #a normal word and being like awwww. awwwwwwww. actually i do that with standard beby too. puts a well placed g3soft and im like awwwww #i said this before. synthesizers are cute to me. they are cute to me.#anyway thats all i do in svs2. point at genbu plus and say awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww #and then realize i messed up something in the svp and have to open svs1 again. because i find it hard to do svp edits in svs2 LOL #i think i need like. a light mode. the darker bg of svs2 is way more straining on my eyes than the grayer svs1 #im sorry im like this. im the reason light modes exist. its my fault #i would also like that tension parameter dealt with. actually like. okay. i think high tension was actually improved compared to svs1 #in 1 it does like. barely anything to me but in 2 its been kinda fantastic. but LOW TENSION my best friend low tension...#it was already sensitive in 1 its WACKY in 2. i think ive figured out kiiiiinda a way around it #whenever i put tension down i also need to put volume etc up. which is a little bit of a pain because. dear kanru moresampler hua #The Reason i LIKE synthvs tension parameter so much is Because i dont have to compensate as much for volume and body loss #with other parameters and also in daw mixing when using softer expressions LOL #but i persevere. i persevere <3
