FOR SURE lmao i made. a diagram. just a warning that i am going to be irritating and long winded because u just hit a topic i really like sorry lmao

so first off i did some traces just to show whats there vs redraws to show my interpretation

ive said this on other asks but again jsyk, tracing isnt bad!! its a tool. theres some stuff with intellectual property and whatnot but using tracing to study shapes and forms is a really valuable practice.

also just taking some time to learn facial structures and anatomy is super useful, reading what bones and muscles are where and how they interact with one another. taking this info and staring in the mirror and moving your face around and thinking about it. just really furthers understanding of how the face works. trying to sound normal about this but i love anatomy and motion and physics and whatever

anyways im going to go through all the numbered points so there's no confusion. 1. forehead lines - self explanatory. more prominent when brows are raised 2. crows feet - at the outer corners of the eyes, more prominent when smiling or squinting 3. nasolabial folds - the folds that go from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth. more prominent when the mouth is wide, like smiling 4. brow furrow - self explanatory, most prominent when brows are furrowed. mccoy tends to have two right next to his eyebrows, kirk has one in the middle. everyones face works different lmao 5. chin crease - caused by how the chin and lower lip interact. 6. nasojugal groove - start from the inner corners of the eye and can extent over the cheeks. everyone has these and idk why people dont like them i think theyre really cool!!!! but Society. i guess. :/ 7. eye bags - caused by the skin sagging beneath the eyes. mccoy isnt even that old in tos i think hes meant to be mid 40s by the end of the 5 year mission, hes just got really prominent eye bags lmao 8. idk what the name is for these, but when the mouth is wide and pushes the skin to the sides, these folds sometimes form outside of the nasolabial folds 9. philtrum - the groove above the upper lip. i dont usually draw this but mccoy's struck me as prominent enough that i usually draw it on him 10. masseter - the muscle that moves the jaw up and down. its a pretty rugged muscle and while i wouldnt say mccoy's is especially prominent, it kind of extends that nasojugal groove from certain angles/positions 11. orbicularis oris - mouth muscle, usually easier to see when lips are pursed or frowns are pulled. mccoy's is pretty prominent from 3/4ths or side, his mouth tends to protrude in profile 12. this isnt a muscle but more of a line defining the planes of the face, but since i drew it i felt i should explain lmao

a few points:

im an animator i tend to exaggerate and emphasize certain things so i usually make him more square.

i like to combine eyebags and crows feet for brevity/flow, same with nasojugal grooves, eyebags, and masseter lines. my approach is always subject to change based on pose, expression, reference image, etc.

i take out details that i deem redundant or cluttering and keep what details i need to make things feel Right

all this info is applicable to any character of any age, its just in how you apply it and facial proportions that willl change how old a character is perceived to be

there's a lot more with drawing a Character rather than an Actor, just because the features are there doesnt necessarily mean things will feel correct? its very much in the mannerisms and poses and expressions

i only went over my approach to his likeness but not really body type or posing or anything idk if u want that i could always try to answer that later haha

Hey what happened in the 2020 season with Alex? (Sorry new fan and still learning)

omg you never need to apologise to me for not knowing things i literally know nothing

the 2020 season from the alexnation perspective was like being in a hamster ball being hurled around for 5 months straight basically but here’s the breakdown:

so for context 2019 was really really good for alex he was promoted as a rookie and he shunted a fair few times and most of the time wasn’t on maxs quali pace but red bull were the third quickest team so he wasn’t expected to win or anything. alex ultimately beat pierres points tally from his 12 races in the red bull within 7 as a rookie so like. whilst it was insane behaviour for red bull to promote him in the first place he did perform phenomenally

then we turn to 2020 pre season testing. mercedes was dominant as per (dreamy sigh) and the red bull was quick but looked. edgy. for both alex and max but ferrari were fucking nowhere so it was still like really positive for red bull bc it was basically two extra places gained and then. global pandemic. and then as a footnote to the whole you know. global pandemic. sebastian vettel was dumped from the love island villa (ferrari (everyone gasped))

and then! triple header one and the first race in austria had max running an upgraded front wing and none for alex and it was like understood i think like it wasn’t a big deal at the time

and then everything that could have possibly happened. happened. in the race and alex and lewis…yeah. but the world did in fact keep spinning!

and then alex got p4 in the second austria race (altho. significantly off of maxs pace in p3 for sureee) and everyone was like if only max had a rear gunner (wistful) which in my opinion is an insult to lewis and the w11 but whatever. nothing else really happened here other than horner and marko making kissy faces at seb during this time but that’s just contextfkdkd

so then the next race in hungary alex qualified p13 and even though max only qualified p7 and it was the third race of the season alex was getting eaten alive and george was on live tv like red bull are making him look like an idiot and he’s not an idiot and they need to fix it for him and it was like fucking hell what is going ONNN we haven’t even made it to the third race yet (like imagine anyone coming out and declaring this after australia quali this year like. wild scenes)

so then one week break and then triple header two started and during the races at silverstone they start talking in the media about when the best time to demote alex is even though the only times he’d finished outside the top six was brazil 2019 and austria 2020 which. pls consult youtube if you need further info here

they also changed alexs race engineer in silverstone so More turbulence altho completely welcome this time (simon rennie come back we love u, ur so sexc haha x)

then during the final triple header 2 race in barcelona he gets put on the most ass strategy known to man like with context this was criminal behaviour actually

and then one week break and then triple header 3 starts (do you feel like a hamster yet) at spa and unbeknownst to us all at the time but later confirmed by will buxton and dts horner is in the mf pitlane in spa propositioning seb like one more year and then you can come home which. have some decorum alex is behind you in the garage. but anyway in the general media everyone was gagging for pierre’s red bull return so there were bigger fish

anyway. SPA. they did this to my boy

and alex made the best out of it but as per the comeback kid episode of dts that everyone loves (🙃) alex was made out to be useless and it was like. wtf did you expect

THEN between spa and monza helmut marko was like oh btw alex hasn’t actually had the same parts as max for most races this year okay bye and alexnation was like…wtf. but then no one else really cared and it was like UMMM OKAY

and then monza happened and alex was in a first lap sandwich involving pierre and then second lap crashed into grosjean (alexs fault - live laugh love x) and had a huge chunk of his floor missing so finished p nowhere and then. pierre won and good for her i guess but then ex drivers were on live tv demanding alex step down for pierre which like no one has ever done this in the history of the sport as far as im aware so it was fucking savage especially when this was the first race alex had finished outside of the points for red bull in (with the exception of the two aforementioned events)

and then mugello wooooooooooooo!! alexs first podium!!!!!! i was gassed at the time but it was sort of sad looking back like if you listen to his team radio across the line from getting p7 in canada and then compare it to his first podium in mugello it’s. yeah! we were enduring it!!

and then sochi happened in its own weird bubble and alex was nowhere really got caught behind carlos hitting the wall at the first corner after a poor quali and that was that

then. triple header number four starts with horner giving alex an ultimatum of we’re backing you but we want results in the next three races or ur finished hunny which. okay

then first race of the triple header max ends up blocking alex in his quali run (live laugh love 2.0 x) and then:

nurburgring was the they race me so hard incident. available to view elsewhere bc god knows im not reliving that!!

imola was again nightmarish. red bull media team said alex was working with a mental coach (patrick his trainer had got mental health qualifications basically) and was supporting him etc which. here comes paul di resta live on air laughing about how max wouldn’t need mental support. it was once again. brutal. especially bc he was getting a load of xenophobic abuse online already like fuck off

back on the track alex basically spun on his own but thought he had been hit and no one thought to tell him before he went into the media pen that he hadn’t actually been hit so it was fucking awkward and yeah twitter was brutal again

then istanbul happened. red bull looked promising but both max and alex finished well off so it was just whatever really lewis did a madness no one really cared about red bull

then final three races of the season started with the grosjean crash in bahrain which ended with alex on the podium and then checo won sakhir and alex wasn’t really there and then we were at the final race in abu dhabi where red bull officially signed checo (as confirmed by will buxtons analysis of the curtains. god i can’t believe this season was real)

but alex didn’t find out for like two weeks later when the season was well and truly over and was taking drinks to the factory for everyone and it was heartbreaking and then he didn’t have a seat and spent the next year saying it killed him so. yeah…TA-DA

A couple months ago now I was fortunate enough to buy a used switch lite from my friend, and even luckier to obtain a copy of Pokemon Scarlet at the local pawn shop at a very reduced price (plus a couple other things but that's not the point rn). So, we go right from the earliest generation of pokemon to the newest back to back, with possibly just as many bugs and glitches, to my gen 9 team!

General Playthrough Notes:

Okay look I need to level with you all right off the bat, I don't like the vast majority of the pokemon introduced in gen 9. They feel like such first drafts to me. I normally go into these games with a team plan but this time I literally had two slots missing going in, I just could not think of what to put in there. And I already planned on using two poison-types and two normal-types! Normally I avoid doubling up on types as much as possible! After a bit I used the codes to get a bug-tera mew and a cetitan and was just thinking "I guess they'll be mainstays??"... then I immediately ran into a shiny shinx. Then a shiny litleo. They happened to slot right into the team and I've never been fortunate enough to use shinies in a playthrough (except my soulsilver randomized apocalocke but shhhhh we aren't there yet), so I put them on. But if they hadn't shown up and essentially saved my ass I would have been hard pressed to fill up a team of six (look I literally just used a mew I'm not in a hurry to use it again, at least it's been a couple years since I used luxray in a playthrough).

Anyways, despite all that, I had fun! I knew going in it wouldn't be too difficult and would have its lion's share of glitches, so I was just along for the ride. I like the friend group you form in this game! I like vibing with koraidon as an honorary team member! It's just a pleasant time.

Back to shinies for a moment, overworld shinies without any sound effects to indicate them is evil. I spent so much time staring at groups of pokemon trying to tell if one of them was off-palette. Thankfully, I never ran into any shinies other than the ones I caught.

The raids are neat, though since I don't have Nintendo Online and no frequent enough local players it isn't super interesting with just the npcs. Caught a few neat fellas though, including a steel-tera breloom and a fighting-tera azumarill.

Speaking of, when I first started playing those mewtwo raids were going on and I wanted to participate in them so bad. I barely missed my window, though from what I've heard I wouldn't have stood much of a chance anyway, haha.

I wish there was more post-game other than the raids. I've redone the tournament like half a dozen times now; I wish there was a battle frontier or something. To be fair, I haven't caught all those ruin legends yet; though the one I have caught I managed to get in the first ball, lol.

Do I have the dlc yet? No! I can't just throw around that kind of money willy-nilly. Maybe someday though.

Picnics are really cute though I wish I could pet my pokemon instead of just wash them. Also why can't I sit down on the chairs that are set up around the picnic table??? Still don't really get the sandwich hype, I might mess around with it a bit though, I want to give it a fair shot.

"Hey Nel, why haven't you talked about the Elite Four? You usually start these notes with them?" The E4 is very unremarkable, sorry. I won't bore you by being the billionth person to rag on how Geeta is objectively the worst champion. Also when I rematched all the gym leaders I didn't have to terastilize or heal my pokemon. They were a bit more impressive the first time around tbh. The gym puzzles were neat though!! Except for Tulip's. Fuck her.

Oh yeah, terastilizing is a thing. Mega evolution is still better.

I wanna hang out with my friiiieeeennnds more, both my irl friends and Nemona, Penny, and Arven. It would be so fun to do raids with them or something like that.

I know for the various doodles and art I’ve been making so far I’ve basically winged it and just gone off the descriptions in the story, but I would like to make some ref sheets for some of the characters and I NEED KEY DETAILS AND STUFF so if you could be so kind to tell me some stuff you would like the characters to look like, like accessories and scar placement and maybe if the characters have pointed ears that kinda stuff

Magpie!! Oh my god! I wish I'd seen this sooner! Oooh! I have so much to say regarding their appearances. Although I'd definitely begin with, please still feel free to have creative freedom! I love seeing your art after posting chapters, whether the design is of your own or closer to mine, I absolutely adore it either way! So don't feel restricted by anything. You've definitely gotten it down to a T though haha When it comes to 'pointed ears, etc' there aren't actually any other sub-species/hybrids other than avians in this universe, as they are creations solely of the Watchers. Not to say people can't be born without little funky attributes such as those though! Grian and Pearl are twins here, so their appearances do resemble each others a lot. Such as the same hair colour, dirty blonde, and facial features. I am sorry to say that Grian unfortunately is not a glasses wearer in AMDB 😔 purely because of lore purposes and him being 'perfect' it wouldn't fit. I still love glasses Grian <33 Cuteguy right now simply dons a red hoodie and grey knee-length shorts. His 'void covering' is the consistency of a liquid and can change how much of his face is being covered. This will be spoken more on in future chapters! And I might have to come back to Cuteguy a little later as.. spoiler alert.. he will actually be getting a suit hahaha not stuck in those borrowed clothes forever. Oh no this is getting long... apologies 😭 Scar's clothes are pretty consistent, button up shirts (never fully buttoned) and whatever jeans work best lol. He's a simple artist. His hair is just a mess kinda.. lmao I've described it before to a friend as "He cuts his own hair, but he can't see the back so he just leaves it and hopes for the best." He's just left with a mullet that has a mind of its own. There's a very special detail about his accessories you'll find out in chapter 10 though 👀 EDIT: Oopsie.. coming back to make a little edit as I forgot to mention his scar placement!! He has a jagged one across his nose bridge, shorter on one side than the other. A large one down his jaw and extending to his throat a little. A cross, or in other words, the shape of an 'X' between his hair part on his forehead. Grian mentions this in ch6! And finally for visible ones, a large one resembling an explosion on his collarbone, back of neck and back. Across his body he has many overlaying each other as well. Some on his hands and espeically his palms/fingers. Basically you can give him as many or as less as you'd like hahaha Hawkeye, I didn't devle too much into his design! I wish I could explain more into him but that would be spoilers :( He has a lot coming for him. His main details are that he wears archer equipment: a quiver, chest guard, arm guard and glove! But his suit is pretty much just DDVAU inspired except no short-shorts since I'm going for less comedy aspect and more action style! Oh how I miss those short shorts lol The only key detail with Mumbo is his hair, it reaches about his collarbone. I call him the 'Hippie band guy' in my head because that's just how I picture him after the buttercups in S9 lmao If there's anything else you're curious about please ask away! And again, even with this info you are entirely able to just ignore it lol! I love seeing your art and even without the 'canon' designs I would love it just as much, if not more! 1. what’s the lie your character says most often

"it's whatever. Don't look into it." Wrong. Look into it so much. Technically not a lie, but it's the opposite of what ithvozal would actually want to happen, so it could be called a lie if u look at it at a 37 degree angle. The best way to describe it would be kind of a tsundere thing?? They just aren't used to being nice to people on purpose, so when they are they get a little cagey and annoyed about it.

As for real lies, they avoid them as much as possible. Things always get confusing when all the info doesn't line up, which is something they hate more than anything

Alriac doesn’t make a habit of lying, but out of everything he’s prolly lied most about his ability to just kinda. Turn into a merman on command. And everything related to that. He also lies quite a lot about where he goes to anyone that asks. He’s never said the same place twice.

3. how often do they show emotion to others versus just the audience knowing?

Ithvozal didn't grow up around a lot of new ish people, like travelers and whatnot, and most of the people they grew up with didn't have the expectation of performing emotions to the degree that most people would consider normal. Because of this they appear to be very stoic to the usual traveler or surface dweller. If you know them well it's very obvious that they emote quite a lot, if not as strongly. They're the type of character that gets accused of being emotionless and cold by the fandom

Oh alriac absolutely wears his heart on his sleeve. He's never concealed anything a day in his life and everyone he's ever known knows that. He cried because he accidentally startled a really cute fish. He cried because he thought birds didn't live any longer than a week. He's been absolutely ecstatic over a bee landing on his arm. He is so full of joy and whimsy that it's physically impossible to keep it all in.

9. do they give tough love or gentle love most often? Which do they prefer to receive?

Oh ithvozal gives only the toughest of love! When demonstrating it via things like gifts and actions it's very obvious that they're extremely thoughtful about what they're doing, but when it comes to more direct things like physical affection or thankfulness it's a lot harder to tell that it's love and not just how you'd affectionately bully a friend. They mostly use weaker punches when doing physical affection, but their version of a weak punch is the same as most people trying to actually fight. Hence a lot of the meaning kind of gets misconstrued with those. They prefer indirect things like actions and gifts, but they're not opposed to other types of love from the right people. They're used to tough love, but gentle love is also very appreciated.

Alriac doesn't necessarily have gentle love, per se, but it's not tough love. It's more extremely intense than anything else. Like when a cat loves you so much they're very strongly kneading against your leg, and like yeah those claws are digging into your skin like hell but theyre just so cute and sweet and they mean so well, so can you really blame em?? He needs to get told to calm down sometimes, but he doesn't mind. As long as he can still demonstrate his love he's happy. He likes it when people match his energy, no matter what type of love it is. Ithvozal is great friends with him for this reason! They get pretty close to matching it in his eyes.

12. what’s something that makes them laugh a little every time? Be specific!

Ithvozal doesn’t really surround themselves with things that would be considered funny/particularly joyful by most standards, but they always get a kick out of the dwarven automata being a little dumb. Between the spiders that are prone to falling off ledges and getting startled to the spheres that smack their heads on shelves, there’s plenty of things to laugh at with them. Alriac is also a rather large source of laughs for them :)

Alriac finds quite a few things laughable, but his favorite is when he messes with sailors as they panic over a ‘ghost’ on their ship(which is just him climbing up there and spooking people and messing with stuff lol). He collects jokes and stories to tell to Ithvozal as well, to try and get at least a smirk outta em! He’s gotta make up for lost time, since they didn’t become friends until about 100 years into their lives.

I would like to give Kaname a friend (two friends) if that's alr w you.

Their names are Kohaku and Yahiko Senju. (They're fraternal twins, look the same but different genders)

Kohaku is the type of person who gives off ✨️Motherly Vibes✨️. Not motherly vibes, but ✨️Motherly Vibes✨️(Trust me there's a difference). They're androgynous (born a female but look more male than female if that makes sense).

Kohaku is the type of person who is willing to go out of her way to make sure a person who is by themselves to be included in whatever activities going on, or to initiate a conversation w someone and make a huge effort to keep it going as well as working very hard to boost the person's confidence (bc lord knows Kaname needs a friend who loves and supports her despite everything).

Kohaku is a level-headed person, as gentle and happy as one can be when born in the WS Era, logical, adaptable to many situations, and laid back.

While Yahiko, on the other hand, has an opposite personality. He is a hot-headed person. He's got a heart of gold, (haha u can think of Naruto but with a braincell).

Yahiko is smart, methodical, hot-tempered, and despite what others think, very organized and not as reckless as one might think. Yahiko is genuinely one of those people who do not give two shots abt what people think of him.

They hate him? Oh well. They like him? Sweet.

Yahiko has a fairly balanced ratio of physical strength to intelligence.

But to give you a better insight of what Yahiko and Kohaku are like.

Kohaku is the type of person who doesn't make threats but promises. She is VERY much capable of breaking a person mentally and psychologically and make a person go bonkers.

Yahiko is the person who will absolutely jump a person if they need to. He can, will, and has beat the shit out of a person because they looked at one of his friends the wrong way. (He's gotten in trouble for this more than once, and people have stopped trying to discipline him about this.)

Now with that out of the way (I'm so sorry for the long info)

I would like to hope that Kaname is willing to let Kohaku and Yahiko Senju be her friend? Perhaps making a big effort to get to know Kaname and not the daughter of Hashirama Senju?

That is really sweet! Kaname absolutely wants friends, and they sound lovely, and she definitely did have friends within the Senju both before and after the village was founded.

Although she and Danma were perceived as slightly higher in rank because of who her father and mother were, she was still trained equally with every other Senju her age. She just drifted away from them after the village was founded, when their experiences as shinobi separated them from her as a civilian. They trained and studied and socialized at the academy for eight hours every day, then started going on missions, which took up a lot of time before, during and after the fact, and they bonded with and befriended their new teammates. They more often than not were not allowed to talk to her about missions and details around them, even low level ones. It wasn't that they deliberately avoided her or treated her differently because of who her father was, they just didn't have the time to spend with her the way they had in the past, and they couldn't talk to her as freely about what they were up to as before, and could get into trouble if they did.

She did still spend time with them whenever she could, but she nonetheless felt excluded and lonely most of the time.

She's separated from shinobi because of her civilian status, and she's separated from the civilians because of her very intimate association with the Senju and Hashirama. I could see Kohaku and Yahiko as being friends or at least familiar with Kaname, for sure, and It' so sweet to offer them up!

However, please not that I don't roleplay with non-rp blogs. It's lovely that you throw these characters my way and I'd love to see more of them as Senju OCs are always fun to see, but I will only have my characters interact with them if they are given a spot on an roleplay blog.

STRANGE FEELINGS, SECOND ADOLESCENCE, CYBERBULLYING AND MINDFULNESS… a bit of everything

Hi! This is my second post and i would like to talk about the feelings i have at this moment in my life, in my body, in my soul, maybe there is someone who also feels like me, perhaps that would help us to not feel that alone in this phase of our lives.

I’m 22, and i’m feeling like i’m living a second adolescence or may i say i’m truly living the adolescence at this age??? My parents where so strict when i was on that age and in one hand, I understand them, because as parents they wanted the best for me and they always wanted to prevent me for falling in bad paths, always had me with that fear of even not try to do something that could be bad for me. But on the other hand, I can’t understand how a person can learn a lesson only because your parents told u and not because the practice. For me is like a medicine student that only studies the theory but never does the practice, the day that the medicine student has to work on a hospital would be lost and wouldn’t remember some things like it would remember because of the practice.

So the point is, yes as a parent u can told your kid what is going to happen if he/she did this or that, but the kid needs also to live it.

We are here for that, to fall, learn, go ahead and become stronger.

So now I’m doing all the things that they didn’t allowed me to do when i was on the age to do them. I feel a little ashamed because people of my age did it a long time ago and I didn’t live, I started to do it now.

I know that is better to happen late than never but i feel… I don’t know i have a lot of feelings going through me at the moment.

Also i unblocked some traumas that I didn’t knew that i had until this moment haha, but i’m taking it as something positive that is going to make me stronger. Another thing that happened to me recently is that i was canceled from tw and cyberbullyed lol, the reality is that I don’t care that much about what the npc’s behind the screens are saying to me (because the culture of tw is the one where the cancellations and toxic traits win, where people discharge all their rage and don’t care at all about the others), so i’m aware of this and i’m not surprised at all. The point is that i feel so sad and hopeless about the society, social media has allowed us to become compassionless beings. So i decided to delete all my social media apps, but as a kid of the digital era i need to be in touch with someone else, to publish stuff or to see different publications, info, inspo, etc. and I thought that would be grate to try this social media which was so famous when i was an adolescent but i never had! For now it seems a good choice, so far i haven’t seen a toxic community.

PS: i started to make yoga and meditation to relax my mind and calm my thoughts and also my anxiety, if u are in the same situation u can try it would help. (I wouldn’t know what to do with all the bullying i get from twitter if it wasn’t because of the help of the mindfulness that helped me to discover that everyone and everything on this world is the same thing and comes from the same place so we are all one and we are so important, as the trees that gives oxygen or the water that keeps us alive and hydrated, so when i understand that it all made sense and i started to feel important. I don’t know how the people who don’t know about this can feel, they can also commit s****** to scape from this. I only can say that I’m grateful for being this strong bitch!!!)

PS2: they only want us divided because “divide and rule”, so be more intelligent than them and open your mind and your heart to scape from the matrix. (maybe i can sound a little crazy here but if u know u know ;) )

I’m afraid not. Steam doesn’t have Android builds on their own site and Steam is not cool with keys for other sites being given out for Steam purchases, so you don’t get the Itch version from buying on Steam.

Hello! Sorry to bother you but, I had a question, if we buy the Game on itchio do we get steam keys or would we need to purchase it twice? 

You would have to buy it twice if you want it in both places, I’m sorry. To repeat myself a little, Steam doesn’t like the key trading thing. Itch may support giving keys for another site, but the reverse isn’t doable with Steam and Steam doesn’t even really want you to get a Steam key for buying somewhere else either. So we just don’t mess around with that.

It’s free! There’s a paid wedding DLC, but Step 4 itself is entirely unpaid.

It’s not, aha. Unfortunately, 2021 wasn’t easier than 2020 as we hoped so things are still slower than planned. It’ll come out late 2021 or early 2022.

I just wanted to ask if Derek would ever lose feelings for MC, like if they make the deal and then MC gets with Cove would he move on? and even if you don't, after "losing contact" would his feeling fade or would he still like MC? 

If you don’t really keep in touch with him and clearly move on with your life, Derek will too and he’ll be over it. But if you are still close as best as you can be, he’ll still think the MC is special. Though, he’ll always support your relationship with someone else if that’s what’ll make you happy.

Hello! Sorry if you've answered this before but: 'How's Lee related to us? Though which momma? And does she share our player-chosen last names? Also, do you know if Noelani took Pam's last name or did it happen the other way round? 

She’s related to Pamela and Pamela’s last name is the one they use, so the MC has the same last name as Lee.

Will we be able to choose which (they or he) we tend to call Qiu by more often, or will it randomly change depending on the moment? 

Qiu knows which pronoun they’re comfortable with at a time and you’ll call them what they’re happy with. And it doesn’t change between lines, it takes multiple scenes or even full Steps for it to switch. So for extended periods Qiu will be totally a guy or fully agender.

Will Step 4 of OL2 have moments?

It’ll be an epilogue like it is in OL1, so it won’t have a bunch of different Moments.

It isn’t based on one specific town you can go to, but there are a lot of little coastal towns in Cali that have a similar vibe!

You wouldn’t get the DLCs for backing there. The Patreon is for extra bonus content/early access, rather than being a storefront to purchase the normal DLCs. Rarely we give them out as a side gift, but it hardly happens and if what you want is the DLCs it’s best to ignore the Patreon and  buy keys for those directly from Itch or Steam. I’m sorry for the confusion.

I just played the game with the MC and Cove being best friends and omg it’s still so damn cute like the wholesomeness of it all is too much for my heart I swear ^.^  Now with that all said I was wondering can we still marry Cove? if we only love him as a friend like let’s say we’ve made deal with him similar to the one we can make with Derek because let’s real no one could compete with what the MC and Cove have even if they aren’t in love. 

It’s great to hear you enjoyed the friendship story! You can live with Cove, but you can’t marry him platonically. Cove has familial affection for the MC if they’re best-est friends. He wouldn’t think to marry someone he loves like family and even grew up with as though they truly were siblings.

Maybe you missed telling Cove you were in love with him even if you mentioned wanting to get married or you might’ve accidentally said earlier in the game that you don’t want to progress your relationship further with Cove. We haven’t removed them, so you can get the scene again. It’s just kind of easy to miss since there’s multiple requirements. You can read a little guide in the FAQ.

Technically, yes. We treat the non-romantic relationship options as truly non-romantic since we don’t want to bait and switch people. But there’s nothing wrong with headcanoning that Cove does have feelings developing for the MC even before the MC has.

Is there a way to make/allow Lee and Baxter to date?

No, they just don’t have enough time together.

No, she doesn’t. As for the other questions included, to be honest, I don’t have to explain/defend having romance options of different sizes. I’m sorry if you’re dealing with unhappiness that’s connected to body image, if that’s where the negative emotions are coming from, but even so I can’t meet you on that level and pretend it’s a problem that needs an answer. A girl who simply isn’t thin being a main love interest is just not an unreasonable concept. Also, Tamarack isn’t a lesbian. Yes, she can date a female MC, but that doesn’t undo her actual sexuality, so I’m not sure where that one part at the end was coming from.

Not really, haha. No matter how cool your MC is, they’re never gonna replace Qiu for the other kids around. So you can either partner up with him, follow him too, or not be a part of all that group politics stuff.

It’d depend on his age, personality, and your relationship with him! When he’s younger he’d probably be embarrassed, when he was grown he’d probably be more casual or happy about it.

Yeah, you can be crushing on Cove and date Baxter if you weren’t already dating Cove. You just can’t be truly in love with Cove and then switch to Baxter.

The focus will be on the wedding day itself. The topic of the honeymoon might come up a bit, but there won’t be any choosing of the exact location and such.

First, is there a set year in which OL:B&A takes place (ex: Step 1 being set in 2010 & Step 2 being set in 2016, etc.) or is it simply up to interpretation? (like one of their parents is an addict, a parent being transphobic whilst the player has the option to be trans, or having friends that are influencing them to do drugs, etc.) That's all! There is a set timeline!

Step 1: 2006 Step 2: 2011 Step 3: 2016 Step 4: 2021 

And we don’t currently plan on making a game like that. The Our Life series exists to be a safer environment for people to play around in and if we did do a brand new series that was harsher edged it’d be something more fantastical and/or plot-driven instead of a different type of modern day slice-of-life growing up story. I’m sorry.

i don’t know if you’ve already answered this, but do you have a guess on when phase 4 will come out? as well as ol2? i’m so excited for both of them, the inclusivity in this game is amazing, you guys should be really proud of it! 

Step 4 will be coming out very soon! OL2 is gonna take until 2023 to be anywhere near completion. But we might episodically release the Steps one at a time as they get done instead of waiting for three to be finished before launch like we did with the first game.

That’s nice of you to offer. He doesn’t have a Twitter, at least not one that’s public enough to be shared with me. And I’m afraid not. The issue is that the CGs take huge amounts of time rather than there not being a budget for it. He’s gotta make CGs for Step 4, the DLCs, and new character sprites, too. There isn’t space in the schedule for even more. Sorry for that.

If you wanted context: Death Note is about this one guy who finds a notebook that kills anyone who you write the name of in there. The guy eventually develops a God Complex and starts mass killing criminals and stuff. L is the one trying to find out who is killing all these people.

Me and my sister first joked about it because I couldn't remember how to translate a word about the way Cove was sitting, so I just did the pose, and it looked a lot like how L himself sits! Then we just snowballed from there, with more and more nonsense connections.

I just plucked the courage to actually send u an ask fhdjhd but GOSH i love your video edits and your gifs and your meta article posts, you're so articulate and you can explain/describe moments in a way that makes me go "oh wow, i cant believe i haven't seen it that way before!!" Haha ANYWAYS i'm just here to say that i completely agree with what all u said, Free creators might do a lil fanservice here and there for the 25 ships that exists within the fandom's circle, but rinharu's storyline is clearly the most romantic one! And i'd argue it's the one closest to being canon esp after part 1, i mean the fact that they put such an explosive emotional outburst right at the end of the second to the last movie means a lot. It's like reinforcing the fact that this series has always been about them, and everything that has happened only happened either because they met or they grew appart and miss eachother. I kinda feel like maybe.. juust maayyybe there's a chance KA wants to make the ship canon, since it's the last movie and they want to end it on a highnote maybe (bcs honestly i think the only reason they've been holding back is purely bcs of the merch sales, since they don't have a problem showing a wholesome lesbian love story in kobayashi maid dragon) butt i could be wrong, maybe i'm just overly optimistic and delusional, they could somehow ruin it and give an ending that panders to all the ships again 😅🥲, but at least there's a clear-cut guarantee that part 2 would dedicate a large portion of it fixing rin and haru's fight!!! Well, you know me, I only care for one ship, which is the only one with confirmed info that they're both actually gay and have mutual feelings for each other. There are some other ships in free! I'm fine with (those do not include Rin or Haru in them xD), but I just mostly don't care, bc after reading all the stuff, you can see that in some of those to one the other one is actually like his second option, which I just do not like. Others I just don't even see, bc again to me who witnessed great close male friendships and having two sisters who I'm very close to, I just do not see anything romantic in that.

It's not just Free! tbh, it's like any sports anime these days. They see two guys walking together, it's a ship. And like no one cares if they're just bros. Like I'd get i they did some fanservice fanservice, but like I never saw anyone in Free! crossing the line the way rinharu do. I can without thinking much name you 10 rh moments that no matter how hard you think can't be explain as being bros, but can't name one when it comes to others. I just find some ppl shipping everyone with everyone weird sometimes. It's like western fans see like some eastern actors or singers slap each other ass lovingly and they're like "oh they're fucking" I'm like "yeah, ofc all 500 of them, you're absolutely right". And Free! doesn't do anything even like that, I just do not get sometimes like what moment even brought on some ships. I'm genuinely confused. Albert and Haru? You fucking fell from a sakura tree or smth? I'm...

I'm especially confused when it comes to guys, whose character type is who I call "I only want this one and if I can't have it, then I'm ok" xD. It just always surprised me, when they try to pair up them with someone else, it's like a complete ooc.

I'm also not into this whole "well, if there are gays in this anime, than everyone there is gay". I'm like... huh. It's like with KNB and MDZS I had same feeling. It's like you have already couples there who are canon/borderline canon, why do you need another 10 who don't even interact or just don't even go there? I'm always so confused in those situations. Or like wangxian is married and some are like "no, I actually don't like it, let me write a fic when they're with other ppl". Lan Zhan... being in love or having sex with someone else? Yeah, that's not Lan Zhan, dude, you're writing about someone else. Might as well change the name at this point.

But last time I went to twitter someone had a thread about how if they make s4 of Free! they should mainly explore there Momo's angst (and no, it wasn't a joke), so I'm already like, I'm just.. nothing will surprise me no more. But I'm forever gonna be confused.

Yeah, I eel you about "going there". I mean seeing part of it, it just kinda cemented my confusion, bc I do not get how it can be considered platonic. We were just discussing since yesterday with @freeseafirefly how I now even more perplexed and do not understand how they will resolve it without going into relationship territory. It's just our point here is that like... no one forced them to go there (I mean its not like this whole fandom has some wild expectations or anything already), we were waiting or our usual friendship and swimming and maybe tiny conflict about struggles of pro-careers and some usual rh implications (maybe all the rh gay in dramas as always). Not some pure fanfiction coming to life here haha.

Like why I'm laughing is bc I twice used in my "fics" bringing up him leaving Haru as a force to push the confession, bc there's no way if he adresses this it won't lead to this. And now we not only have this (bc Haru just basically layed it out there), but an actual scene of him playing on their feelings for each other and a literal image of Rin leaving and "taking Haru's heart with him" to the point when he's for the first time in his life openly crying on the ground. And it's not like this scene can be interpreted as anything else, the whole fandom talks same, bc the whole fight was just about them, what Haru said was just about them, there's a literal boom of his heart getting out of his chest, before he falls and now he's heartless.

So our question is like... why go there?

It's like some say that they might still resolve it with "they're special to each other" and swimming, but still like we already knew that, there was no reason to go that far is what I'm saying. And to think that it was planned since forever giving the clues is like... ???

The whole spoon theme also throw me on the loop because like, lets be honest, it's wedding themed. And that part of the interview about part 2 there also made me go...?????? Because I mean, huh?

This is just all in all very interesting turn of events to say the least. I do not see the point of all of this if its not what I think it is, esp after seeing tweets like "even I see a rh wedding and I'm mh T_T". It's just all very unsubtle, that's why we're confused.

Like who knows, maybe we'll really by some magic turn of events get lucky and they really decided that since its the ending, it's okay to go for it. But I also don't wanna to hype myself much, I'm already really happy with it, just bc again, this scene already proves all of my points.

And yeah, I'm sure they'll pander to everyone, bc it's the end and etc and we have to handle everything on the good note and there's a whole line of ppl who's obsessed with us, esp with Haru xD, but like bromance pandering and romance pandering are different things, you know *wiggles eyebrows* and u know who always gets the second one.

“Ooh, you guys have to hear about this!”

Marcy was practically bouncing on the spot, reading yet another paragraph from her extensive notebook of Amphibia. Anne and Sasha were leaning tiredly against the couch, neither of them sure how their friend still had so much energy.

Normally, they were fine with hearing their friend ramble, but today had been a bit more taxing after having to deal with some unwelcome giant bugs that were threatening Wartwood. Marcy had been a big help with her notes on them, however the one info dump led to another, and soon the girl was reading her entire notebook to her two friends.

“Mar-Mar, you need to take a break.” Anne told her, fatigue clear in her voice. “You’ve been talking nonstop for like, three hours now.” Marcy fell silent at the statement, blinking in surprise as a small blush of embarrassment crept onto her face.

“Oh, my bad.” She said sheepishly. “I guess I got carried away, but Amphibia is just chock full of interesting things! Like, did you know that-” without even realizing, Marcy started into another ramble, making Sasha sigh and rub the bridge of her nose in frustration.

“Psst-” Sasha heard a whisper next to her, looking over and seeing Anne with a small yet mischievous smile on her face. She silently pointed a thumb to Marcy, wiggling her fingers after to mime out her plan. Sasha was quick to catch on, gaining a smirk as both of them looked back up at Marcy. The raven-haired girl hadn’t even noticed her friends yet, still rambling about some kind of carnivorous plant.

“-it’s a lot like a venus fly trap, actually.” She explained. “The difference is they also have a paralyzing venom that can- eep!” Marcy cut off mid-sentence as she felt hands grasp her sides, hauling her off the ground and carrying her back to the couch.

“Sasha, put me dohown!” She squeaked, the hands on her sides causing a small bout of giggles to escape her lips. Much to her surprise, Sasha did put her down…by unceremoniously tossing her on the couch. A small ‘oof!’ came from Marcy as she tried to upright herself, only for her two friends to suddenly be sitting on either side of her.

“Sorry Marbles,” Anne said, leaning against her, “but you’ve got too much energy, and we need to do something about it.” Marcy wasn’t sure what she meant until she felt hands on her sides, earning a high-pitched squeak followed by bright, bubbly giggles.

“Hehehey, wait!” She managed, the giggles soon overwhelming her words. Anne grinned at the sound, skittering her fingers over her friend’s exposed sides to test her reactions.

“Still ticklish as ever, I see.” Sasha mused, feeling Marcy starting to lean against her in an attempt to scoot away from Anne’s tickling. Of course, this didn’t work as Sasha held steady, leaving the raven-haired girl stuck between her two friends. Her cheeks turned pink as a goofy smile spread across her face, which Anne couldn’t help but coo at.

“Aww, you’re so cute, Mar-Mar!” She said sweetly. Marcy’s whole face turned red at Anne’s words, starting to thrash more as she felt the tickling creep up to her rib cage. All three had ditched their armour earlier, as it was a warmer day, leaving all of Marcy’s worst spots exposed.

“Ihihihi’m nohohot!” She squealed, tossing her head back and almost hitting Sasha by accident. The blonde had been able to dodge it at the last second, but the action flipped a switch in her mind and she rounded on Marcy in an instant.

“Alright, you asked for it!” She cried, wrapping her arms around Marcy’s chest and pulling her in, effectively trapping her in an iron hold. Fingers dug into the hollows of her underarms, earning a high-pitched shriek that was immediately followed by frantic laughter. Her legs kicked uselessly as she tried to pull herself free, only for Anne to sit herself on Marcy’s thighs to hold her down further. Four hands tickled at her sides and underarms, kneading and spidering and squeezing away at any spot they could reach.

“GuhuhUYS-!” The cry was hardly noticeable through all the laughter, and Marcy quickly realized there was nothing she could do but submit to her ticklish fate. Her ears had turned red at that point, eyes screwed shut and tears pricking in the corners of them. Despite how hard she was laughing, though, she still seemed to have plenty of energy.

“Man, I’m surprised she’s holding out this long.” Sasha commented to Anne, having to raise her voice somewhat to be heard. Anne nodded in agreement, and deciding to test Marcy further, moved her hands down and drummed her fingers against her hips. This earned a squeal that was so high in pitch that it actually left Anne’s ears ringing, causing her to pull away.

“Whoa, you good, Mar-Mar?” She asked. Sasha had even stopped, loosening her grip and allowing Marcy to catch her breath. The girl was a blushing mess, her hair frizzy from her struggling and a goofy smile still plastered on her face.

“Yeheheah…” She panted, brushing her hair back with her fingers, “just…g-gimme a sec.” Anne and Sasha exchanged a glance, both of them smiling softly as Marcy worked to compose herself.

“What do you think, Sash?” Anne asked, turning her gaze back to Marcy. “Has she had enough?”

“Don’t know.” Sasha replied, sitting back against the arm of the couch. “Girl’s got enough energy to power a city.” Anne chuckled at the comment, however Marcy seemed to perk up.

“Actually, Newtopia has been working on a renewable energYYY-!” A squeal left her throat as Sasha immediately started tickling her again, spidering her fingers over the teen’s ribs.

“If you’ve got energy to ramble, you’ve got energy to be tickled.” Sasha told her, though all that Marcy replied with was high-pitched giggles. Anne chuckled and ended up joining in again, doubling the electric sensations that were spreading through Marcy’s torso.

Anne and Sasha were right; she did have lots of energy. But having it be spent through her two best friends tickling her silly was more than fine by her.

not sure what country you're in, but if you're worried about ulcers you might consider taking any PPI (proton pump inhibitor) - without going into details, they're anti-ulcer drugs (it's an oversimplification, excuse me for that). they're quite popular and many, many places carry at least some as OTC drugs (people often use them for heartburns; all of them end with -ole, ie omeprazole, lansoprazole etc). they shouldn't be taken for too long a time, but they're sometimes prescribed as a 'gastroshield' for nsaids we say in my language. that's usually used for either people over 60 or who take nsaids regularly / have to take more than one nsaid at a time, since the risk for those is significantly higher. anyway, hopefully you're not too stressed about that and hopefully you feel all right - just something you might consider checking out, if it's a right solution for you (and again, sorry if it's obvious and i sound like a douche, that truly wasn't my intention, haha!)

this is gonna be messy as FUCK because i have many thoughts and none are coherent or written down elsewhere so i apologize HEAVILY in advance because this is all off the top of my head but, HERE WE GO

SO AS WE'RE AWARE, POPULAR FANON IS THAT VLADAN DRAKE IS A BITCH ASS MOTHER FUCKER and you know what? i buy into that idea.

anyways baba yaga shows up one day and kicks malistaire's ass in pvp as stated by ravenwood rollcall and cyrus is INSPIRED to become a myth wizard because of that (honestly, iconic). baba yaga decides it's Free Son Estate during whatever amount of time she spends in dragonspyre with the twins after seeing vladan drake being a Bitch but that's a ramble for another post

malistaire ends up staying with sylvia in dragonspyre but after cyrus finishes up his required service in dragonspyre however long that takes i like to think he showed up in polaris first on his grand tour to find baba yaga and he ended up becoming her pupil for some time!

they end up growing pretty close i like to imagine. she'd get on cyrus's case for sitting outside in the freezing cold because even though he's taken up myth magic and studying takes up the majority of his time, painting is still his passion, u know? she supports his endeavors but put on some fucking mittens, drake, you'll end up with frostbite.

like. you know that witch's hut painting and the paintings in baba yaga's office in the arcanum? those were all done by cyrus like thirty-something or whatever (time is weird in this game) years ago. she's kept them to this day.

they kind of had that kind of friendship where they'd rib each other all the time and banter and insult one another especially during cyrus's training. (also, she definitely sent cyrus looking for the infamous truffula leaves.)

eventually she shooed cyrus out off into the spiral, you've learned all you can from this old iceblock, boy, but they kept contact and cyrus would send back postcards and doodles and little trinkets to her throughout his travels like he did for malistaire and sylvia because she was family to him, too.

i think that it got harder to keep contact when cyrus started teaching at ravenwood and they go years without consistent letters. by the year malistaire died, there were no letters at all. they kind of just fell out of contact and got a bit estranged from one another. hence cyrus's line before the YW goes off to polaris,

we don't really seem have any canonical info on their relationship other than whats mentioned in cyrus's dialogue in the polaris prequest and in ravenwood rollcall. this could be interpreted as them having a falling out or something but since my heart can't take that right now i just like to think they slowly fell out of contact.

whatever happened id love to see them make amends / pick up contact again and maybe even see each other again. i know it'd probably never happen in game because the focus is on the player character, of course, but hey, at least we have headcanons and speculation to make the universe feel just that much more whole and the characters that much more real.

this is all probably like 90% incoherent and i'm sorry, i'm not used to writing long HC posts so im just spouting bullshit here probably haha but i'll clean them up at some point. probably. maybe. hopefully. someday. one day. somehow.
