I find great fun in listing my options and spending days and weeks and months deciding which I should go with. The same is true when writing a story. Which first-meeting do I like the best? Which evil king? Which name sounds the best? What season should it be?

Typically this leads to taking much longer than needed to finish a project, but it makes the process more fun for me.
