i've been meaning to make a post of my own about this exact topic but. life. is a thing and it just hasn't happened yet lol. but believe me when i say that i've been considering this exact thing since 2022 and just haven't said anything because i have a horrid 'no this NEEDS to be completed before you share it' complex lmao

i'll just give the basics of my hc's and maybe finally possibly write up that full post for later. maybe. :]

if the gang gets yeeted into faerun (and they're all still human, boooo. but necessity breeds ingenuity or however that saying goes and they compensate with Shenanigans):

lupin is an illusion wizard, jigen is a no-magic monster slayer ranger/fighter, goemon is a samurai fighter/rogue (not 100% sure on this), fujiko is an open hand monk (not 100% sure on this one either), and zenigata is a berserker barbarian.

if the gang's been there the whole time (assuming high lvls here as well. this is where they're all hella dangerous and edgy and mysterious etc etc):

lupin is a changling bard/rogue, jigen is a half-elf pact of the blade warlock and lupin is his fey patron, goemon is an aasimar kensei/spirits monk/bard, fujiko is an adult red dragon (i swear i'll elaborate if i ever get around to making that post lmao), and zenigata is a goliath oath of the crown paladin. (an alt for fujiko would be tiefling eloquence bard.)

baldur's specifically (aka what would they choose?? this one's fun bc its literally just their prerogatives and you don't have to worry about accommodating their actual skillsets or whatever, but i feel like i don't have enough super super intimate knowledge of to get this feeling like i'd be true or anything):

this might be a cop-out, but i feel like lupin would either pick anything on a whim or he'd unironically do that 'multiclass into everything' achievement. fujiko would pick either a super aggro martial class or astarion lol. jigen would pick whoever/whatever's the most default/easy (gith fighter, elf wiz etc etc) and half-ass a lot of the time bc he refuses to admit he's enjoying himself playing a 'nerd videogame' (even tho hes 100% a reddead fanboy, smh). goemon might accidentally min/max monk or druid or something and basically carry everyone. i also feel like he'd vibe well with lae'zel. zeni would go healer/support (bard, paladin, someone mentioned cleric so shart shadowheart) 'cause someone's got to lmao, the rest of the gang has no sense of self-preservation. going durge out of spite after this inevitably fails would also be hella funny.

in a general sense, i also like the idea of more whimsical races for the gang like tabaxi tiger for zeni, white dragonborn for goe, hawk aaracokra for jigen, satyr or goblin for lupin, and firbolg for fujiko. but yeah thats it byeeee

well, look no further! i hereby present you Winds of Revolution, the first part of the Freedom Chronicles! it's my biggest project yet, which aims to retell go's canon with a few changes. you could call it a rewrite, altho my aim isn't to make the canon "better", but rather to tell my own vision of the story featuring the characters i love so dearly

for those who've seen my art and/or read my chatfic, that's where you'll finally get to know my OC Michiru and his story! (Miko and Yayoi too, but only in the second and third part respectively). this includes other major changes, like, of course, you know me, Tsurugi now being a trans girl.

this is by far my most ambitious and beloved fic so im really excited to finally start releasing the English version! i hope you'll give it a chance!
