my dramatic interpretation of how bill and i met at work vs how he saw it. when i started working there, the place was down a dishwasher so he took over and since i was new i was put on dish polishing duty. he played some alice glass mixed with some duster songs and i stared autistically at him.

from his perspective he said he was “happy to meet a pretty girl who liked the same music.” did not pick up on that. thought i was being weird. he said he did not think i was being weird. i don’t trust that.

Asked a kid if her dog (Rosebud) was named after Rosebud in the Air Buds movies and she just stared at me. Her older sibling looked like it rang a bell, but they didn't know either.

I missed a few Space Crowd Saturdays, so here's a catchup post featuring three sleazy cyberpunk bars: Barclay Shaw's 1990 cover art for Illegal Alien, by James Luceno; James Warhola's 1987 cover art for Tales from the Spaceport Bar, edited by Darrell Schweitzer and George H. Scithers; and an 80s-era Bud Light promo poster by Gary Ruddell.

Two of these three artworks appear to have references to the Alien franchise in them, marking another insight into the Space Crowd trope: Artists occasionally use the format to sneak in references and in-jokes. (Check my alt text for more info on that)

Where's a good place to start reading through the Space Opera au posts? Is chronological order through the tag on your blog alright/is there a masterpost? (from what I've seen it looks super interesting!!)

Hi! I'm so sorry for the late ask but- Well. We (and by that I mean all the people involved in the au) got a bit too excited over your ask and just decided to make an entire power point presentation, idea of @riacte (thank you Ria I adore you).

This will be our masterpost too so hopefully we're able to keep up to date and gather more of the countless documents we've got with lore and such, and arrange them into here. The posts in my blog are not really in chronological order, and most of the recent art I've got are meant to be like random screenshot of random boring scenes, which intentionally adds nothing to the perception of chronological order- but that's where the story part of the power point comes in, that one's definetly in order!

In the spopera power point aka the spowerpoint, we go in depth into the story of the au, each main character and a few of the other ones, the space racing sport made up for the story, planets and alien species, a few written publications in AO3, and the in-universe social media aspects.

Here's a very small preview of what's in the presentation; this is just a tiny snippet of the written premise we've got, so I absolutely recommend checking out the actual slide presentation. We're like, ridiculously proud of it and had a lot of fun.

As for what inspired this au, literally this single message sent by @jazzyjesse. It sort of sparked that "I love space" part of everyone's brain in the server and we just started to brainstorm immediately on top of it.

oh yeah for sure. the reason why rosquez rules is because they spent two and a half years being the kind of gay ass dudes who would homoerotically lean over each other at bars. and then marc SAID he felt like they got a DIVORCE in PRINT ! YIPPIE ! like it all implies a bitter sort of familiarity…. love rotted on the vine… betrayal that matters because they in fact mattered to each other… lost loves of each other’s lives who are ALSO forced to bump elbows and legacies for the rest of said lives…. like again there are very few other marc ships that i lend genuine credence because i can’t imagine marc like. visiting them at their hometown to chill and have fun. but he did with vale ! had to convince his manager to allow him to ! because he LIKED him !

My Personal Take on The Humanized Space Goofs.

If you guys were to remember, I posted my very own First Animatic back in July (even though I had to re-blog it to this Blog), I've made some First Attempts of doing my own personal SMTV Human Disguises for a Very First Special Animatic that I have done ever since I have made a comeback to this Fandom for so long.

Usually, those early designs were mainly "Prototypes" since I didn't put too much detail on every design since my Animatic was my very first try of practicing doing a Storyboard Animation. Granted, I didn't hate the Old Designs it's just that they felt more like Concept Material that would've eventually lead to some improvement.

So I'd figure why not Redesign Each of My Own First Attempted of doing personal Human Disguises of the Space Goofs (minus Stereo). My Prototype Designs were most likely inspired by @coolthudethecoolest's take since I felt like wanting to be inspired by Another SG Artist who already did their own Human Disguise Designs before Me, so here are My Newer Version takes on the Humanized Disguised Aliens for My Space Goofs AU.

I've also done some Bios for each of the Disguised Goofs as well as giving each of them some "Disguised" Alter-Ego Human Names (& a Few HCs).

While trying to Re-Imagine My Own Personal SMTV Disguises for them, I based their Human Forms off of Each Cultural Nation besides than coming up with a few "Alternate" Names for Each of Them.

I know that in the Show they are stated to be MUCH Older in Alien Years but for the Ages that I gave them are the Ones that I HC for their Earth Years so I always vision them as Some Folks in their Early 30s.

The Different Nations for their Human Disguises that I choose is mainly on how I would at least see their own Appearance if One were to have their own "Main" Human form taken in by Certain Cultures around the Earth, considering the SMTV changes them into however they'd want to be. In my take, they're All French, but they also came from somewhere else where.

I was also having some Deep Trouble with Candy's Gender but I'd figure that since they're a Confirmed Non-Binary and a Transgender in the Franchise, I'd to go with Both Ways. Oh, and since I see Them with a Trans-Feminine Appearance, I always vision Them as Someone of a Potential of Them being in a Sapphic Relationship but given the quirks between Them with both Etno or Gorgious, I would at least put them in the Pan section.

I will probably use any of these Human Disguises for any Ideas someday.
