If somebody in your life offers to knit or crochet or, really, create anything for you, please be an active participant in the creation of the piece they are making. I adore making and gifting things, but nothing bums me out quicker than a person who passively just goes "okay," to my ideas about what I'm making them - it can send the message that they won't like it, or that they don't care, even if they're happy about my offering. The back-and-forth feedback is a great way to make sure that you are being gifted something that was truly worth the time, effort, expertise, and money that will inevitably go into the gift!

I know it's really hard to be an active participant, believe me, I'm an anxious ball of horror, but it will only do good for both parties to interact in this situation. It is a big deal to be offered a hand-crafted gift, but it's also something we want you to love and use, and that can only happen if you tell us what would make you fall in love with what we create.

i need to know more about the clams not being canon to rainworld thing. is it more like they've never been mentioned. is biology totally different in that world. or has the creator just like. come out and said that they simply do Not Want Clams in their story

They've never been mentioned + totally different viology. everything in rain world is biomechanical to some degree, so anything that exists in our world MIGHT have some kind of rw parallel, but they'd function and look different from one another

I'm gonna be honest. I forget canon kon is white now because I only consume fanon content most of the time so I'm like. yeah this is kon! and then I see a comic screenshot and get whiplash cuz my brain thinks ur version is correct

before i actually read the comics literally every kon i saw was poc so my mind was just like oh okay this is definitely gonna affect my brain perception of this character 🙏

headcanoning is a very interesting concept because it can add a layer or recontextualize canon but you also have to keep in mind that canon will contradict your hcs sometimes because it doesnt have the things that make things like a sexuality or ethnicity unique, if that makes sense (well duh, it was written by primarily cishet white men who are writing from a specific lens). for example, the smallville setting is very white in my opinion and if canon kon actually wasnt white then the story might have had a new layer of storytelling to explore. but his feeling of intense out-of-placeness and the struggle with identity is something that is very relatable to me so oops if i let a lil projection slip out you know? and the fact the superfam are immigrants and kon’s journey with proving he’s worthy of being a kryptonian and worthy of being a super? it’s just sooo relatable. i definitely tend to attach myself to these type of stories. if you were to ask me to write an official dc comic of him id comply with his real canon but there’d definitely be subtext id sprinkle in for people like me to relate to if ur looking for it🤷🏻‍♀️

however it’s also good to actually read stories that were built with these lenses and intentions rather than just hcs because those stories will take that potential where it needs to go.

Does anyone have a list of items needed to complete quests/events stuff of that nature for 1.6/1.6.3?

Since I play on Switch I don't have the update yet, but I'd like to gather as much needed materials, money, ect... ahead of time so I can quickly complete stuff and get to the fun of it without too much grinding while the update is there.

I could look it up myself but 1 I'd spoil pretty much everythin for myself (more than I already have) and 2 for me to find every single new thing to obtain is a bit much when I have no idea where to start. It would be a time intense process to go throu link after link of how to obtain this item for this quest when I need to do this pre-requisite, all that.

let's see... with kazooie, it's probably clankers cavern because i just really like clanker. he's so cool and i like hanging out with him.

with tooie, while i feel like it's everyones favourite, it's gotta be witchy world. it's just such a fun world overall that it's hard to pick anything else.

i keep telling myself "oh, i should try replaying calamity with the rebalancing mods, maybe they fixed some stuff i hated so i won't be as miserable" but then i remember the stupid 'hardmode ores will only spawn in tiers per mech killed, destroying demon altars doesn't do it anymore' change the spawning effects don't stack so it's excruciatingly frustrating to find required ores like titanium because there's just such a small amount of it dribbled through the entire 16,800 block wide world and that's all you get, you can spend hours looking and come back with barely enough to finish making two armor pieces, much less the forge, weapons, tools, etc (depending on how merciful generation is feeling on that day)

There's a very specific Scent that just automatically triggers my brain to throw confetti and yell "yippee! There's fuckin Thangs In There" and all I've been able to identify is that it appears when there is dirt and water, but not Everywhere with dirt and water, and that while one part of the same water source may have it, a different part of the Same Water Source may not. Current theory is that it's something to do with fungus and microorganisms that thrive in a nutrient rich aquatic/moist environment. It's that scent that the air has after its rained, or when you scoop up a handful of mud from the bed of a stream/pond, not the smell of rot, but the earthy sort of "That's fucking Nature" smell???? Idk how to describe it but it's nice and I want it forever, ideal sensory experience
