Summary: Dating Miles as Miguel’s sibling.
Spider-man across the spider verse
₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊
After watching the movie, I can tell Miguel would be attached to his remaining family.
He wanted the best for you. His best thought was putting you in a seemingly safe area, earth 1610. Later, it was definitely not the best option. “Especially with miles” Thats what he said.
You were younger than Miguel. But roughed it out, talking to him occasionally and living your life. And it was normal.
Till miles, he changed everything. And yada yada, went through hardship and got together from a kiss in his room.
And in the moment it seemed amazing! But what about after..?
“So.. is it uh.. official?” He stuttered trying to keep his cool. I noticed his nervous movements, rocking his hand, whistling in the silence. I laughed before turning to him.
“Miles, theres no way I would kiss just anyone.” I muttered getting closer. His cheeks turned hot, feeling touched by those words. “So.. I’ll meet you at the rooftop tomorrow?” I smiled.
God you are hot—
He tilted his head, he felt the world disappear, only seeing you. He did a silent yes hugging me by the waist. Laughing before he went out the room happy. What will he tell his parents..?
When you told your brother, it was a easy no.
“He’s really nice!”
“That’s really funny!” He said sarcastically with a fake smile. It soon dropped. “Because I don’t believe you” He scoffed crossing his arms. I just rolled my eyes.
“You haven’t even met him..?” I snarked.
“And I don’t have too” He sighed. I waited tapping on my sude. Till getting a very.. capable idea. I took a deep breath, then went into action.
“Pleaseeee” I pleaded getting on my knees.
He choked on his spit. “Why are you doing that? Get up—!”
“Please!!” I grabbed his leg clinging on him.
“Are you serious..!” He struggled getting me off. He couldn’t just kick me, that’s the only weakness he has “Fine! Just get off..”
I shed a fake tear. “Thank you”
When miles met your brother, it was tough. He was on edge whenever he saw him, after that one talk. It was worse than anything else.
And had to swear on his life to keep you safe, and probably was not a joke. He still loves you though..?
He takes it slow for the most part, but will automatically want to smother you with love. He definitely loves affection, and texts you every day.
Even with Miguel constantly on eagle watch for him, he acted the same never changing for a person. Unless it was good, but miles never understood why Miguel had a offset grudge.
Aside that He is such a sweetheart, and likes to do things for you. He understands his job as Spider-Man, having to take most of his time into that.
So whenever he has free time he spends it with you. Drawing, ice cream, flying in air as you screamed. You both had fun.
But even with that, expect a lot of flowers and letters. They will be wrote in delicacy and cute doodles on the side.
He always gets soft when you pay attention, he just feels so appreciated. As he should
But obviously all the time spent as Spider-Man and then with you caught up with his parents.
So it was time to introduce you.
At first it was really intense, they glared at you asking constant questions, too fast for you to even answer. But they were worried for miles, that was their kid and they didn’t know if he was safe.
But after dinner, they knew he was gonna be fine. You guys actually started getting closer, and you came over more often for dinner. They started treating you like the family.
And miles only fell for you more. Every time after dinner he gave you a kiss goodbye, always filled with warmth. Even his roommate would make fun of him by how lovey dovey he gets. Especially on his hour rant about you.
“Ahh.. wow” Ganke sighed, his eyes were closing, thinking it was finally silent. Till he heard miles words again, ready to just sleep outside.
“And have you seen their smile? It was like heaven to see—!”
“Dude Just go to bed!” Ganke groaned covering his ears with the pillow. It’s 12 at night, and he preferred sleep than some talk about a person he hadn’t even met.
Mile’s was protective, he definitely wanted to make sure you weren’t ever hurt. No matter when you tried to help. His first priority was you, so making sure you are safe made him most calm.
A lot of dates. What he loved most was just sitting down in silence staring at the city. He was able to just admire you.
So overall 10/10 he’s definitely worth it. Except for the soon tension with Miguel, that will be a awkward conversation..
Which I might make a part on, thank you for reading!!

MIGUEL
“Not a word,” Miguel said in frustration.
Jess and Miguel were standing in the hallway just outside your apartment door. Your early rejection stunned him. He stood there completely still, looking at your door with slight confusion.  Whenever Miguel invited someone to join the Spider-Society, he was often met with gratification and excitement. But instead, you greeted him with your uninterested stare and got called Jess’ employee.
“I’m not saying anything. You can't catch ‘em all, Miguel,” Jess teased, her voice coming out broken thanks to a small giggle on the verge of escaping.
“Let’s just get back to headquarters,” Miguel said with a low grumble, rolling his eyes.
“HQ,” Lyla’s cheery voice happily asked from his watch.
Miguel waved her hologram away and pressed confirm himself. He didn't want to hear any more witty comments at the moment. He’d rather bury himself in his work and try to forget anything ever happened. As the portal came to life, red and orange rings began to materialize before them, the harsh glow illuminating them. They both walked through the portal, the other side bringing them to the main corridor of the HQ.
[6:00 pm, Wednesday, Nueva York, Universe 928b]
Jess gave Miguel a small salute before heading off on her way. There was a look on her face that read, ‘I’m going to tell everyone,' which caused Miguel to wince internally. But Miguel didn't bother, knowing she would still tell someone anyways.
It was a busy day at the HQ. But there were rarely any days where it was slow in the bustling building. The bright lights of the Spider-HQ were a sharp contrast to the dark hallway outside of your apartment, making it difficult for Miguel's eyes to adjust. Even with the high population of the Society, it rarely felt cramped, but that was because people would make their way around in all sorts of ways, like swinging around, crawling on the ceilings, or just walking around normally.
At the moment, it wasn’t extremely busy. And Miguel was grateful for that. Members rarely approached him, but it still could get overwhelming when people ran through the building, occasionally asking him questions. Today there was a steady flow of people walking and talking amongst themselves, which was just how he liked it.
As he walked down the corridor, members of the Spider-Society created a circle of space for him to walk in, never having to brush shoulders or get too close to anyone. When Miguel walked through the flow of people, he sometimes saw people whispering to themselves or trying as hard as they could to avoid eye contact with him. He had to admit; it made him feel powerful. Confident.
After a few awkward glances and an even more awkward elevator ride, he was close to his office. On this level, it was noticeably darker. Naturally, the dim setting was more comfortable for him to work in. Few people were typically allowed on this level, and only a few would sometimes help him with tech and operating the transportation machine.
Miguel entered the room, and his mask dissipated, retreating into his suit. On top of the platform he’d typically work on were a desk and various holographic screens withholding important info. When he walked onto the platform, it automatically started rising. He walked over to one of the holographic screens and, with the help of his sassy A.I. Layla, he began sorting files.
“The chances of a cataclysmic event in their universe is 63.333333–” Layla chimes.
“Alright. Notify a local spider,” Miguel cuts her off.
“Will do. Hey, there is something in your teeth. Say cheese.” Lyla darts around until she’s directly in front of Miguel’s face.
Miguel did as she requested without a second thought. He shined his teeth at the hologram. A small flash of light appeared, causing him to stop smiling immediately.
“How do you fall for that, Miguel? I’m starting to think you want me to take these pics.” Lyla laughs, swiping through filters to add to the picture of him smiling awkwardly.
Miguel huffed in annoyance and looked back at the files on the computer. He began his work again, putting in files dating from the start of last week. The increase in anomalies was sudden, causing his workload to nearly triple in size. He would have to start working double-time if he wanted to get these all sorted, or he could ask for help from his little friend.
“Here, Lyla, do these reports,” Miguel instructed her, swiping them off his monitor.
“I’m not supposed to–” Lyla started but got cut off by Miguel again.
“You also aren't supposed to take selfies with me. I seriously don't understand,” Miguel exclaimed sternly, almost like a parent trying to reprimand their child. Lyla took the opportunity to take another picture of Miguel.
“Delete that,” He demanded. His words came out more of a plea than a command because his patients were beginning to ware thin.
“Fiiiiiine, have fun working.” Lyla finally gave in to her boss’s wishes and deleted the pictures. She posed, holding up a peace sign before zipping away and disappearing.
Miguel sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He walked over to his chair and sat down, letting his body relax into the seat. He selfishly indulged in the quietness, the only sound in the room being the holograms hovering around idly. Slowly, his eyes began to flutter closed, but he was not yet dozing off but instead taking a moment to enjoy the sound of just his thoughts floating around in his head.
It was far from easy running the entire society by himself. Sure, Miguel had help from a few members that earned his trust, but the work was starting to pick up too fast, and there wasn’t ever a time for him to just exist anymore. Not like he had much of a life outside of Spider-Man, anyway. He purposely buried himself in this concept that could save endless lives. After losing his family, this was the only thing he had left that was his. So he poured all his efforts into it, taking the serious stance needed in a position like this.
Two hours passed, and Miguel was still working quietly at his desk. The only noise in the room was his frustrated grunts and curses when he disorganized something or found something out of order. When he finally caught up to going over the tiny bit of information he collected from your universe, he had a weird feeling in his chest.
Maybe he was just disappointed that you rejected the offer so quickly. And if he wasn’t disappointed, he was definitely embarrassed. Miguel kept replaying how that night had gone over and over. He constantly had clear visions of how you fought with precise and deadly movements, your agility, nothing he'd ever seen before. Miguel couldn't remember a time when he genuinely felt entranced by anyone the way he was by you.
“Who the hell even are you?” Miguel wondered to himself.
His ears perk up at the echo of someone's footsteps traveling down the long corridor to his office. Although Miguel wasn’t fortunate enough to have a spider sense like most Spider-People, he did have enhanced hearing. An ability Jess did not appreciate because she could never sneak up on him. Though he couldn’t identify certain people based solely on their walking patterns, he still knew it was Jess trying to startle him. Miguel turned around, waiting for Jess to enter the room.
“Hey,” Jessica casually said as she entered.
She was no longer wearing her spider suit. Just opting for a simple red t-shirt, a pair of black leggings, and some slippers that Miguel had told her she couldn’t wear around the HQ. He ignored her choice of clothing, not wanting to cause an argument over a meaningless topic.
“Hello, Jess, ”Miguel replied, his voice maintaining a low register and flat tone that just oozed boredom.
“Oh, so you're still sulking around,” Jess concluded.
“I’m not sulking. I’m working. A thing apparently no one else does…” Miguel's voice trailed off, and he let scoff.
“Sure. You aren't in here thinking about that ice-cold rejection, are you,” Jess questioned, walking towards Miguel's desk.
Jess was one of the only people who could talk to Miguel like this. It wasn’t necessarily disrespectful; she was just one of the few people he allowed to get close to him. It started with him being impressed with her skills and promoting her, then giving her higher security clearance. As time passed, Jess became what he considered a close friend.
“Y’know she rejected you too, right?” Miguel asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah, but I still managed to feed myself afterward. You’re in here sulking like a damn bat.” She poked him in the shoulder. Jess glanced at his desk, noticing all the scattered paper on it. She wondered what he had paper for since they hardly ever used it, thanks to all the technology everywhere.
Miguel broke eye contact with Jess, returning to his display of monitors and watching the flow of Spider-People from the view of the security cameras. Miguel realized that there might've been more truth to Jess’s statement than he cared to accept, so he just decided the interaction wasn’t happening.
“Look, it’s just one person who even cares,” Jess said.
It became clear to her that teasing wasn’t the way to go. Miguel wasn’t taking the rejection lightly and was more disturbed than usual.
“No one cares,” he lied.
He did care. He even knew he cared, but admitting it aloud would make the rejection too real.
“Yeah, real convincing,” Jess mumbled and looked down at the papers on his desk.
“What do you want?” Miguel was beginning to become irritated with Jess’ intrusiveness.
“Give me clearance to go back. She doesn’t seem like a bad person. I think we both know she could be an asset,” Jess said, her voice giving off a rehearsed vibe. It was like she’d been planning to ask to go back ever since she left his side.
Even though they were friends, she’d still sometimes practice what she would say to him. People higher up in the ranks here knew it was hard to get to Miguel when he was angry, so rehearsing some sentences was the best way to go at times.
“Not to be negative here, but what makes you think she will listen,” Miguel asked, sounding skeptical and unmotivated. Silently he hoped Jess would just leave the subject alone.
With how closed off you seemed yesterday, he seriously doubted Jess would gain any ground with you. He reminded himself that you seemed a bit warmer towards her than himself. Finally, looking away from the monitors, he turned and made eye contact with Jess, awaiting her grand reveal.
“She probably won’t. But I’ll listen to what she gives me,” Jess said with a shrug.
MIA RICHARDSON
[7:00 am, Thursday, Chicago, Universe 4655]
You sat on the couch in your living room and listened to the news anchor go on about new alleged super-powered individuals in Chicago, a slight draft wafting in from your balcony door. Autumn in Chicago was practically winter. There were usually a few weeks of seventy degrees, and then temperatures sharply descended into the forties.
You couldn’t remember the last time you were awake before ten a.m., let alone 7 a.m., but you'd eaten breakfast and exited the shower by eight. You suspected your early rise was the result of last night's events. The news didn't sound much like news when you heard it. It sounded like two lower-level heroes were high off their asses and decided to stalk you to your apartment at two in the morning.
As the time last night passed, it became harder and harder to distract yourself from the truth. If there had been other spiders in Chicago, you surely would have heard about them. You would have at least heard them doing their patrols. There was no way you wouldn’t have noticed a motorcycle going through the usually silent neighborhoods.
How could you explain the twins? They looked like the doctor you killed years ago, but there were two of them, and you couldn’t identify where they could have come from. These were some of the questions that plagued your mind as you attempted to sip your coffee and watch the news mindlessly.
The more the news anchor and the rest of the team tried piecing together a supposed explanation for the killings last night, the more you were wracking your brain trying to piece it together yourself. You remembered the watch he wore. It was a small piece of technology with some sort of communication device in it. It reminded you of your late best friend's concepts.
Joy would go on and on about how the multiverse was real. You would just listen to her and smile, even asking questions here and there to push her further into her rant about the endless universes, how there were infinite universes with you in them, and infinite ones where we didn’t exist. The theory wasn’t ever your thing, so you just let her ramble, happy to hear her passionate about something.
She promised you that after you both finished your tenth space exploration that
“We are going to go to the universe where Chris Evans is single and share him.”.
You laughed, remembering Joy’s promise. You made a great effort not to reminisce too often. Emotions quickly could turn into a storm of anger and longing that couldn't always be turned into something manageable and productive. Mourning Joy healthily wasn't something you ever did… or could ever do. Alchamex buried her deep down where no one could see her, so you tried to do the same. You were more productive like that.
Sighing, you sat your mug in the sink and tugged your braids into a ponytail. Slipping on your shoes, you make your way out of your apartment and close the balcony door on your way out.
“Oh, it’s nice to see you! Good morning” Your neighbor said, a clear sound of surprise in her voice. Mrs.Walker was a radiant woman. When you moved in with Joy, you would always wonder if the universe purposefully put you next to her. While most of your wardrobe consisted of black, grey, and a few earth tones, Mrs. Walker was the opposite. She’d walk into the city wearing handmade cardigans in splashes of pastel and always made sure that something had glitter on it.
It was always a good time around her. Unfortunately, you rarely saw your neighbors because of your hectic schedule. But today was different. Your sleep schedule was kind of fucked, and you had no hopes of fixing it, so you decided to just roll with it.
“Good morning, Mrs. Walker!” You greeted her with a big hug, her dog excitedly running out of her apartment. You kneeled to pick up the small dog and hug it to your body. “Those guys still bothering you now at the post office?”
“Now that you’ve mentioned it, I can’t remember the last time they have. Truly a blessing,” Mrs. Walker recounted and smiled at you. Some people had decided she was an easy target for a repeated robbery and had been following and harassing her. That was, of course, until you found out about it.
“That’s good to hear. Be safe, alright,” You told Mrs. Walker. Your words came out as more of a command rather than a suggestion. But it seemed she didn't notice.
“You too, sweetie.”
You sat Henry down on the ground, letting him run to his owner. You decided to make your way to the gym, and luckily the walk wasn’t far, but you were still impatient. Daytime to you always felt like everything was going in slow motion. It was too risky for you to do all your tasks in your spider suit and swing around the city. You didn't want anyone to follow you home and out your identity, so you opted to blend in with the masses and do your errands without the suit, even if that meant taking much longer than needed.
[2:00 pm, Thursday, Chicago, Universe 4655]
After your workout, you finally made your way home, making sure to stop for some lunch on the way there. You had planned to spend the rest of your afternoon at your apartment, trying to rest and catch up on some much-needed sleep. But suddenly, your plans were interrupted when someone knocked on your door. There goes the universe's vendetta against you yet again.
“Hey… it’s me. Again.” Jess said, a tiny smile of hope present on her face.
You let out an exasperated sigh and roll your eyes. “What do you want?”
“To convince you–” Before she could finish, you cut her off.
“Look, I'm not interested in joining whatever it is you want me to join.” You replied with a slight shake of your head.
“Hold on,” she smiled, “I wasn't going to ask you to join our team. I was going to offer you a tour of our HQ,” she replied, her smile widening ever so slightly.
You looked at her, giving her an ‘Are you serious right now?’ look. “Yeah… no thanks.” You shot her a fake annoyed smile back, beginning to close the door.
But before you could, she holds a hand out, surprisingly forcing it back open. Your eyebrows raise at the action, shocked at her strength. Never have you had someone compete in power with you– maybe Jess was a Spider-Woman after all.
“Please,” she begged, keeping her hand on the door.
A strong feeling hit you in your gut like you should take her up on her offer. You weren't sure why you had this feeling, but it was intense. Very intense. In fact, strong enough to effectively sway your opinion.
Maybe it's Joy trying to tell me something. Like what she had theorized was actually out there. You thought, looking away from Jess for a moment. When you've made your decision, you look back at her.
“Okay, fine. Whatever.” You gave in. “Maybe it's what she would've wanted,” You thought out loud, head bowing slightly.
Jess’ eyebrows furrowed. “Who?”
Your head snapped up almost immediately. You hadn't realized you said what you said out loud until Jess had asked you who you were referring to. Taking a deep breath, you stepped out of the doorway, inviting her in. Jess walked in, looking around momentarily before looking back at you.
I've already had a moment of vulnerability, so it doesn't even matter if I tell her anymore.
“Joy, my friend… or used to be.” You avoided Jess’ eyes, walking over to the couch.
“Oh, no.” She frowned, the inner corner of her eyes raising. She followed you to the couch, sitting next to you, giving you some space.
“Yeah, uh,” you cleared your throat, a small reminiscent smile on your face, “she always had these crazy theories about other universes and how they're all connected in some way; it was kinda weird. I never really believed any of what she said, but it still made me happy to hear her talk about something she was passionate about, you know? Sorry– I’m saying too much.”
Jess nodded in understanding, a smile gracing her features. “It’s alright. Joy wasn’t wrong.”
“What?”
“She wasn’t wrong. There is a multiverse, and they are connected. But you’d have to talk to Miguel about that. He's a nerd when it comes to this stuff.”
You looked at her in disbelief. “You’re fucking kidding.”
“Nope.” She shook her head. “Why do you think I said I was also Spider-Woman from another universe?” Jess raised an eyebrow.
“Well…” you let out a small laugh, “I thought you and your little– or should I say big– friend were some crazed, cracked-out tourists, not gonna lie.”
Jess laughed. “Tourists, but definitely not cracked-out,” she replied, standing up and putting a hand on her hip.
“Come with me,” she directed you, using her techy watch to open a portal.
You stood up, looking at the portal in awe. “This is insane.”

Miguel o'hara x reader
Tumblr media
Miguel: "...I tried to be normal once… worst two minutes of my entire life..."
Y/N was understandably surprised when Miguel O'Hara, the stoic leader of the Spider Society, said something funny unintentionally. She couldn't help but laugh, and she expected him to scold her for it. But instead of berating her, Miguel chuckled quietly and looked her in the eye.
'You have a nice laugh. You should smile more.'
Y/N was taken aback. Was this really the same Miguel she had known? He had always seemed so serious and stern that seeing him smile and joke around was a bit strange.
'Umm, thanks,' she said awkwardly, unsure what to make of the situation. Miguel just smiled kindly and gestured for her to come closer. When she did, he put a gentle hand on her shoulder and said, 'smiling can do wonders for you. Don't be afraid to let one out now and again.'
Y/N couldn't help but be touched by the sentiment, and she felt her heart swell. She had underestimated Miguel for so long, and now she could see why the members of the Spider Society held him in such high esteem. She smiled back, and for the first time in a long time, felt truly at peace.
