So I think @staff just banned me from their live I got booted and no matter how many times I reload I cannot rejoin. If they did the reason would probably be spam. And to a certain extent I understand I was spamming a question, but the cause was the fact that they were deliberately ignoring questions about site changes and policy. One person’s question about reblog chains (the “Staff got rid of prev tags” issue) was being ignored so he kept sending it... and it kept being ignored. So I copy pasted his question and others followed suit. Eventually it was anwered. The answer boiled down to “We’re experementing! uwu.” so basically they know people hate it and are goign to push forward anyways. That’s the gist of a lot of stuff from the live. LGBTQ+ Content being flasely flagged? Tell us about it so we can unban that one specific post instead of us making any changes on our end. Hate that nazis are out here with openly facist urls? Tell us and we’ll ban that specific nazi instead of making any changes to the way we moderate. Your blog got deleted for no just cause? Tell us and we’ll get to it.... we have a bit of a backlog though....  The aboslute lowlight however was an epileptic user bringing up that several tumblr ads trigger thier epilepsy and they were told “Buy ad free.” Accessibility should not be paywalled. Through the live, staff made several comments about how this site only exists becuse of it’s users. How it’s one of the queerest sites on the internet. How good of a place it is for disabled people but overall they didn’t show any of it in how they interacted with users or their legitimate concerns. To be Fair And Balanced ™ ©  ® there were questions that were adressed that cleared up confusion As of the most recent update image zooming has been fixed on mobile. Technically Tumblr Live is not banned in Europe for privacy and security reasons, it is simply that they have only rolled it out in the USA as of yet. (The questions “Would it be banned if it were launched in Europe in it’s currrent state?” and “Why are you hosting a Q&A using a service that only users form one country can see?” were both ignored) As of now unless a tumblr blog has been marked as private by the owner you can view it without being logged in. Granted you will have to take my word for it as there is no way to record tumblr lives and no one on staff had elected to record the session. Meaning that the 700ish people who were in the stream are the only people who will know what was actually said. At least until someone posts a screen recording, which, I should have recorded, but, I had assumed someone on staff would be recording something like this. I’ll try to blaze this. We’ll see how that goes. If it’s anything like how they answered questions, I’ll keep my expectaions low.

Tumblr @staff want users to take Tumblr's business model seriously and financially contribute to this site yet...

1) The CEO is publicly complaining about getting hateful messages while the rest of us and our reports on directed hate go fully ignored.

2) Staff come for trans profiles but ignore hateful terfs and that the nastiest porn bot rings have a foothold here.

3) The ads they run on this site are straight up Q Anon conspiracy. And you can't report them.

In summary: The last year social media users have watched every social media abuse its users to varying levels while complaining about being financially insolvent.

First of all, is it really all that shocking that venture capitalism and its offerings are a scam in the end? Secondly, have any of these companies actually tried to hear their userbase's requests and roll out what they want? The answer is NO to both.

Like... how are you going to think free money will always be there for you? And if propping misinformation up isn't financially keeping up with what you owe and your users keep telling you to fucking stop spreading it... why would you ignore them?

You are aware of the tried and true business model of giving your customers what they want?

General Charles Q. Brown Jr., Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, confirmed Thursday that the U.S. is not providing Israel with all of the weapons it has requested for its war against Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

Earlier this month, reports emerged that Israeli military leaders believed that the U.S. was “slow-walking” deliveries of arms and ammunition as a way to create more leverage over Israeli policy and appease critics of Israel in the U.S.

General Brown appeared to confirm those reports — at least partially.

Reuters (via the Times of Israel) reported:

The United States’ top general says Israel had not received every weapon that it has asked for, in part because US President Joe Biden’s administration was not willing to provide at least some of them. “Although we’ve been supporting them with capability, they’ve not received everything they’ve asked for,” says General Charles Q. Brown, the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff. “Some of that is because they’ve asked for stuff that we either don’t have the capacity to provide or not willing to provide, not right now,” Brown adds, while speaking at an event hosted by the Defense Writers Group.

Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant spent two days in Washington, DC, this week, meeting with Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, partly to request more arms and ammunition for the continued fight against Hamas and Hezbollah.

Long story short, De Meo showed up at the factory back in September (?) after Rossi and Szafnauer were fired, went on a 40 minute 💀 rant about the state of the team, advised that some other senior staff members had been fired (or were about to?) but then reassured that those who would adapt to the "new team mentality" would keep their jobs, but those who were stuck in the past would get sacked.

Overall a very spicy day at Enstone.

i’ve been watching Lower Decks (loving it btw) and got to Q’s appearance episode today and realised what i previously thought was a giant spoon based on the comic cover artwork is probably meant to be some sort of scepter or staff with a shiny orb thingy on top, possibly crystal or glass or maybe metal? the outline color on the round part isn’t black like the base is, which i’ve seen commonly used in animation/comic art to show something is a translucent or shiny material. also the round part and grey portion of the staff are different colors in the show so they definitely aren’t meant to be same material. while it most likely isn’t a giant spoon (but i’m not ruling it out lol), i’m curious what it’s actually supposed to be since Q never had any sort of staff in his live action appearances?

(also i love how it’s implied that Q regularly stops by to play silly games test humanity since Boimler said “whenever Q shows up” haha)
