Nel XIX secolo, lo scrittore Alexandre Dumas osservava come per arrivare alla vetta del vulcano di Stromboli, così ripida da non poterla affrontare in linea retta, bisognasse sempre zigzagare. E come il suo cratere avesse la forma d’un enorme imbuto, con al fondo un'apertura attraverso cui un uomo riuscirebbe a malapena ad entrare, collegata al camino nel cuore della montagna: “è questa apertura, simile alla bocca d’un cannone, a scagliare un nugolo di proiettili che, ricadendo nel cratere, si trascinano dietro pietre, ceneri e lava.”

Embrace The Darkness è l'incontro sonoro e performativo di questa bocca con la voce di Alos, l'esperienza solista di Stefania Pedretti, musicista attiva con Bruno Dorella negli Ovo e membro delle storiche Allun. Da una residenza artistica svolta nell'estate del 2022 nell'isola di Stromboli, appena devastata da un incendio causato da una serie tv che doveva valorizzarne il territorio, Alos vi rievoca l'atmosfera dell'isola e del vulcano inabissandosi in una performance ctonia e viscerale, una catabasi musicale, vicina al doom metal, che s'irradia dalle crepe sibilanti della voce umana, da synth modulari, vetri, campane e pietre vulcaniche (con le tracce video e fotografiche a cura di Giulio di Mauro, le opere in vetro di Silvia Levenson, i field recordings di Marcello Batelli). È il lamento di una natura lacerata e ridestata, primordiale rituale di fragilità e forza. È un'esortazione, ulcerata e disturbante, a riconnettersi a ciò che stiamo distruggendo.

Nel 2003 Abet Laminati propose a De Rosso una nuova collaborazione, per la Triennale di Milano. L’iniziativa promossa da Abet era coordinata dall’Arch. Paola Navone, ed era nata dalla curiosità di studiare l’atteggiamento dei giovani progettisti nei confronti del decoro della superficie, in un momento il cui il design era caratterizzato dal minimalismo più estremo.  L’idea si dimostrò propizia per presentare ufficialmente al mondo dell’arredamento le infinite possibilità della stampa digitale su laminato. Il nuovo impiego della stampa digitale è stata l’occasione per raccogliere il punto di vista di venti giovani designer nel mondo, invitati da Abet Laminati a progettare un decoro per laminato da realizzarsi con stampa digitale, e successivamente, a immaginare un elemento d’arredo da rivestire con il decoro da loro stessi progettato. Ne uscì un allestimento entusiasmante, formato da un panorama eterogeneo di prototipi d’arredo realizzati da De Rosso, caratterizzati da superfici vive fatte di segni, scritture casuali, textures ispirate alla natura, motivi ornamentali, geometrie, elementi modulari e floreali.
