The situation felt precarious for Jamie’s relationship with Ted and therefore the team by extension, as if it was teetering the same way a shaking and tired Jamie was on his crutches; tentative, wavering, close to catastrophe at any moment.

If you're hurt, you're hurt. It's as simple as that. But it ain't about that... at all.

And even though Ted had been hovering and supportive since the injury, Sam still felt responsible for smoothing any lingering issues between the Mancunian and the American. No amount of laps would assuage the embarrassment Sam held from his Jamie Tartt-related outburst; which led to Jamie’s return to the team anyway.

I think a lot of people's advice for selling commissions as a fledgling artist really skims over the fact that selling commissions is like. 90% customer service.

as a small sampler of examples, to sell commissions you have to:

be approachable and professional when advertising and selling your work;

have a clear and understandable terms of service that is either provided or easy to find;

set personal boundaries for what you will and won't draw, AND be able to enforce them, AND be able to do this without explaining every possible reason you have for not doing something (you can Just Say No.);

communicate clearly and often frequently to know what your clients want and ensure you're following their expectations;

be comfortable asking questions about those expectations, and know how to ask for clarification if something is described in a confusing way;

take accountability for mistakes, miscommunications, or delays;

be able to refuse to work for people who are exploiting you without feeling guilty;

manage payment information and receipts in a timely and organized manner (PLEASE use invoices rather than direct transfers)

like everything about selling art is its own post of advice really (I could go on for ages about advertising, and that's not even something I do a lot of) but a lot of people just. overlook the fact that as the artist you are providing a service and you do need the basic skills to provide that service or you're going to run into issues.

My Baudelaire presentation + essay are finally submitted! I’m basically done with this evening diploma in French and honestly… it’s a relief. Consistency really pays off, even when the end doesn’t seem in sight ⭐️

Please intentionally attempt to see the magic in everything. Everything is magic, even if you understand the "boring" reasons why things happen. Look at the magic in growing plants, the magic of your muscles flexing and retracting, the magic of your eyes and skull, the magic of a cat's purr.

It's all magic. Understanding the "why" is just understanding what makes things magical, it doesn't change that it's all significant and magic.

So does anybody else ever think about how Loop felt the need to demonstrate that the party's deaths wouldn't have any effect on the loops. I know I do but that's besides the point. Anyway I don't think Loop actually needs to bathe, they just like to feel included.

doing chibi is a good design exercise bc it forces u to think on shapes n essential details, essentially thumbnailing ur designs. its also a terrible design exercise bc it ends up looking cute no matter what
