Since your design of Junko is reminiscent of how real rhinos look, I'd love to see how you draw the Raptors in your style, particularly Leugey. I'm curious on how they would be incorporated into your style.
here you go! I based their appearance off of different lizard species

Thoughts on the Raptors for the bingo?
Ah yes, the beasties. Love me some lizards.
Tumblr media
I think they were another underused part of the show, but entertaining nonetheless. I like making headcanons for them and the species as a whole.

Rewatched The Code again and am further convinced Storm Hawks would've been better having been made for an older audience and with longer episodes.
Dark Ace precision-shot takes down 5 members of a highly trained Sky Knight squadron while they're in the air in under 2 minutes, but then once they're on the ground he can't manage to hit a single fucking person?
Obviously, no one actually gets hurt, like ever, in this show because it's made with a younger audience in mind, but this is a show about a multi-generational war. Dark Ace's entire thing is that he's murdered more Sky Knights than anyone. But because this is a show for a younger audience, this shit is never really addressed.
Like you could completely remove that aspect of Dark Ace's character, and the show wouldn't change at all, because he never actually kills anyone at any point in the show.

Fossil Novembirb 7: Ancient London Town
Tumblr media
Halcyornis by @thewoodparable
Next on our excellent tour of Early Eocene Ecosystems is the London Clay Formation - an increasingly important location near yesterday's Fur that showcases another coastal forest of the post-PETM hothouse world. Filled with tons of fossil plants, London Clay is one of the world's most diverse localities for fossil seeds and fruits. Plus, it's lousy with dinosaurs! In fact, the first ever named fossil bird, Halcyornis, is from the London Clay!
Much like the Fur, there are just too many different kinds of birds in this ecosystem for me to talk about all of them - and more and more are being named lately, thanks to the donation of the late Michael Daniels' collection to researchers at last. There were strange ducks and owls, parrot-passerines of prey, paleognaths and loons, pseudotoothed birds and raptors, swifts and tubenoses and tropicbirds and more! Heck, even fossil cuckoo-rollers were present!
Tumblr media
Nasidytes by @otussketching
In fact, the wide spread of many birds that today are limited to places in the southern hemisphere, such as Cuckoo-Rollers and Trogons, is a fascinating look into the radiation of Neoaves around the time of the PETM. Currently, the best hypothesis for this change is that these birds were adapted to the tropical temperatures, and when those climate bands retreated to their present positions these birds followed them. A prediction for the results of anthropogenic climate change? Who knows.
What's extra fascinating is that clearly, some birds didn't move, but just adapted to the cold - such as loons like Nasidytes above, as well as a variety of fowl and other birds. Why some birds went one way, and others another - and still others, towards extinction - remains a mystery.
But back in the Eocene, they were all hanging out together, apparently all over the place! That's what flight will get you, of course.
Tumblr media
Dasornis by @quetzalpali-art
London Clay has a surprising amount of Pseudotoothed birds, which had been around since the Paleocene but did not become common until the Eocene. But here there were two different species - Dasornis and Odontopteryx - that were already well on their way to exploiting the marine soaring bird niche that most Pelagorns would one day inhabit.
Raptors were diversifying wildly here, too, with early relatives of falcons like Danielsraptor present and trying out a more terrestrial lifestyle than living falcons - perhaps an ancestral ecology for Australaves, given that Seriemas diverged before them! With a large curved beak and long legs, it was able to prowl the environment and hunt the scores of other birds living around it!
Tumblr media
Danielsraptor by @otussketching
Lithornis was here, too, as it has been in the last two - a real staple of the PETM world, this Palaeognath was a strong flier, and was probably able to expand its territory successfully as the climate warmed around the world. The lack of Palaeognaths in North America and Europe today now seems even weirder by comparison! These birds would have used their long beaks to probe the sand and dirt for all the different sources of food hiding inside.
Early storm-petrels also showed up, alongside more tropicbirds, in the form of Primodroma and Prophaeton respectively, indicating that these kinds of shore birds not only evolved multiple times, but lived alongside each other in more of the world than they do today. Parrot-Passerines of prey, like Halcyornis and Pulchrapollia and Tynskya, were everywhere and filling the niche of tree dwelling raptors instead of things like falcons and hawks - amazing how much these dinosaurs have changed since!
Tumblr media
Anatalavis by @quetzalpali-art
I would be remiss if I didn't bring up the ducks I helped to describe! Danielsavis was another hodgepodge duck-screamer, though less of it was preserved than Anachronornis. That said, it had a more screamer-like foot, shoulder, and jaw. With it lived Anatalavis, a bird possibly related to the living Magpie-Geese of Australia - wading birds with not much webbing and long goose-like necks. Anatalavis had a very duck-like beak, making it a filter-feeder, rather than a macrofeeder like the living Magpie-Goose. Eating on smaller animals and plants in the water, it didn't have any modern-type ducks around for competition!
Early owls were here too, like Ypresiglaux, a very small owl - weighing possibly less than 50 grams! This means that Ypresiglaux was the smallest known Owl of all history, and probably ate mostly arthropods. It also couldn't turn it's head around as much as living owls, and was possibly diurnal! Birds just kept diversifying into so many niches, it's amazing to see both the similarities and differences across so many clades.

doom music activates, who out of all the storm hawks is the most brutal in a blind rage/when they snap?
Super fascinating question!!
I feel like it would be Stork? Considering what he does to the Raptors in Payback. Like, dude has a body count XD
In the What Got into Finn episode we also see the lengths he goes when he snaps. You definitely don’t want to mess with Stork.
Thanks for the question!!

been rewatching Storm Hawks and I just rewatched the episode when the sub 0 froze a terra and stork has the fend off the raptors. It isn’t out right mentioned, but it is implied that the raptors are cold blooded and the same goes for Stork who has an adverse reaction to the cold. Also, the raptors keep calling him toad and and considering his overall design, him and his species is ment to be amphibious so he is also cold blooded. I was thinking about this with this info in find and the fact that he seems to like swamp baths.

Byakuya’s Falconry Teahouse
Or, you know the Shihouin Falconry Teahouse, or the Shiba Falconry Teahouse, or whoever. Because I am me *I* never turn down an opportunity to imagine Byakuya in A Getup.
I visited the Hama-Rikyu Gardens, a restored Edo Period garden in Chuo City, which were really exciting to me because they had 1) A FALCONRY TEAHOUSE, and 2) a saltwater pond, because the gardens are situated right on Tokyo Bay. How cool is that?? A saltwater pond! I love canal locks.
I wanted to share some details that might serve as inspiration for any and all of your Bleach purposes, as they are now serving mine.
First of all, this one garden has five teahouses in it, which seems like a lot of teahouses--but as someone who owns a lot of tea, who am I to judge, really. I act like if there were a Teahouse Tycoon game I wouldn’t put 19 teahouses on one island.
Tumblr media
This is what Soul Society would look like if Yamamoto didn’t put his foot down and pass municipal codes to keep the architecture uniform and period, LOL.
I only took pictures of the Falconry Teahouse, my beloved, but they were all architecturally very different, which I thought had a fun, like, Disneyland effect. Shoguns, amirite. If your eyes don’t mind very tiny text, here’s some info about the others:
Tumblr media
The falconry teahouse was located near the duck-hunting grounds, where ducks were hunted with nets and--you guessed it--raptors.
There was a shrine for the ducks they killed:
Tumblr media
The Falconry Teahouse (or Hawk Teahouse) takes the Bass Pro approach, with a much more rustic, countryside aesthetic than the others. I am obsessed with the roof in particular:
Tumblr media
THICC
Tumblr media
Here it’s closed up in storm shutter mode, because it was a cleaning day, but it continues its rustic aesthetic indoors as well, with a dirt-packed floor and stove area. This is so its users would have room to sit around in it without taking off all their falconry gear and shoes and whatnot.
I joked about the Disneyland effect, but as you can see from the first photo in this post, the next tea house is basically across the street, and looks nothing like this one. We have a teahouse at home, but we built another one.
I assume there’s ducks that non-shinigami nobles spend their time hunting, but I also like the idea of divisions having outposts out in Rukongai, since it makes sense to have bases of operations that are closer at hand than the Seireitei, given that even the Seireitei is so large it can’t be quickly traversed (or so we’re told when we’re first introduced to it).
Ope, I lied, I do have a photo of a non-Falconry Teahouse teahouse. This is a wood detail on the Tsubame, or Swallowtail, teahouse:
Tumblr media
I’m gonna be honest with you, this is not the most virtuoso woodburning I’ve ever seen, but still think it’s cool, and adds a loving character detail to the structure!
Maybe the only shinigami who can effectively navigate the Seireitei are the ones who know to look for the poorly stenciled birds on each building. (Real talk, I was looking for a meeting room at my workplace once, and after locating it I was told that the rooms are all named for local water features, and their relative elevation correlates to what floor the meeting room was on. It was a REVELATION.)

“Let’s settle this.”
Something I started a while ago that’s connected to this. I decided to finish it up and fix a few things. Enjoy some boys fighting and very brief mentions/appearances of two other characters, one belonging to @tigracespace :P
Starhawk quirked a brow and lowered his roasted rabbit. He lifted his head and glared at the shorter raptor, “settle what?”
Starstrike’s pale blue feathers rose around the back of his neck and shoulders as his lip curled into a snarl, “I want you gone, human-soiled scum.”
“I know,” Starhawk took another bite out of his meal, chewing the meat obnoxiously loud and messily, “but Solclave said not yet. So deal with it and focus on your sister. I figured she’d be more of a priority for you since she apparently was returned a few weeks ago.”
The smaller raptor hissed and smacked the rabbit out of Hawk’s hands, sending it tumbling into the dirt. The black feathered raptor snapped his attention towards Strike, feathers aggressively standing on end as he got up, towering menacingly over the other raptor.
“That is it! I’ve tried to be patient with you, I’ve tried to understand why you hate me so much, I even changed my name to be more ‘normal’ like you, but I’ve put up with your shitty attitude for long enough!”
Strike sneered at the taller bird, “the rocky clearing near the forest’s edge, tomorrow. We will finish this.”
“We’ll finish this alright,” Hawk agreed with a deep growl, flexing his wings and talons. He turned and stormed away, kicking his spoiled dinner into the bushes.
It was easy enough for the two young birds to sneak away the next morning when Solclave went out foraging with some of the older fledglings (those who didn’t need to recover from anything at least). They slipped out of the hollow at different times, taking a different route to rendezvous at the clearing Starstrike mentioned last night.
“Ready to get your ass beaten, small fry?” Starhawk thumped his fist into the opposite palm (a grossly human gesture) and held his wings open, “you know I always win our little skirmishes, this’ll be no different!”
“Sure it won’t,” Strike narrowed his eyes as he glared at the other bird from the other side of the clearing. He stretched his wings, giving them a few strong flaps. To Hawk, this was just another dumb little fight.
This time, Strike had the intention of spilling blood.
The two raptors stared each other down, waiting for one to make the first move. Hawk was the first to leap from his perch, broad wings lifting him into the air as he made straight for his smaller opponent. Strike jumped from his rock as Hawk swooped down at him with his talons curled into fists. He twisted around the larger raptor and latched onto his back.
Starhawk squawked as needle claws dug past his feathers and into his skin. He hissed and shook Strike off, feeling some of his feathers rip from his skin as he did so, and started to fly up higher above the trees, Strike following after him.
Once he was satisfied with his altitude, Hawk tucked his wings in and leaned back, flipping over and diving towards Starstrike. Strike briefly flailed as he swung his talons out to grapple Hawk’s, sending the two shrieking birds spiraling in the air.
Hawk threw Strike away from himself and circled around the clearing, watching his opponent quickly right himself in the air and climb higher. However there was no way he was letting that little jerk get a height advantage on him, and quickly pursued. Starstrike then twisted and flipped around, wings and arms held tight to his body as he dive bombed towards Starhawk.
‘Oh, so he’s trying to copy me?’ Starhawk internally scoffed and rolled his eyes, spreading his wings to slow himself and swing his legs forward and arms out, expecting the other to again grapple talons.
“Hhhkng?!” The black raptor felt the wind get knocked out of him as Strike slammed full force into his chest, right over the still healing wound he sustained on his first day in the wild. He was sent crashing onto his back in the center of the clearing, kicking up dust as he lay sprawled on the ground, stunned and gasping desperately for air. That hurt.
After a few moments, he grasped at his chest and moaned as he rolled onto his side and curled up. That… that hurt. That really hurt! God, he could barely breathe! He couldn’t breathe! “Aa-haaaaahhhgnnn…!”
Starhawk barely registered Strike landing nearby and walking up to him. He cracked open one eye to look up at the pale blue raptor, meeting his cold, creepy, wide-eyed stare.
“Not so different from our previous fights, right,” his lips pulled back in a strained, eerie ‘smile’ of some kind, “Rodreguez?”
Hawk hated how he said his name like it was some kind of nasty slur, like it meant something wrong. There was nothing wrong with it! There was nothing wrong with him! He managed to suck in a deep breath as the pain in his chest slightly subsided.
“FUCK YOU!” Starhawk kicked his legs out, keeping his talons balled into fists, and punch-kicked Starstrike’s face. The smaller raptor shrieked as he stumbled back, covering his now bloody and possibly broken nose. With some effort, Hawk managed to get himself in the air again and swooped down at Strike, flying just over him and causing him to fall back with his feet in the air before circling around and grabbing onto his legs, lifting him up from the clearing.
Starstrike shrieked and writhed in his grip, clawed fingers digging into Hawk’s legs trying to pull himself up so he could tear into the larger bird, “I’LL KILL YOU! I’LL KILL YOU I’LL KILL YOU!!”
Starhawk hissed and faltered in the air. Breathing was still agonizing, he was sure the wound had been reopened beneath his bandages, and it was impossible to remain stable in the air with his opponent’s movements. He was flying closer towards the trees surrounding the rocky clearing, “alright, you wanted to settle this. This is your fault.”
“What?” Strike was shaken from his bloodthirsty frenzy just as Starhawk threw himself backwards, flipping once before letting go of Starstrike’s legs, sending the smaller bird flying into one of the larger trees.
Strike choked on his own breath as his back slammed into the trunk and he tumbled onto the ground. He was pretty sure he heard something snap before his world went dark.
Starhawk watched Strike go limp as he glided towards the ground. He stumbled and fell forward onto his arms, legs dragging in the dirt behind him. He felt light-headed and weak.
“STRIKE! HAWK!” The young raptor lifted his head, spotting a fuzzy mass of yellowy feathers rushing towards the clearing. He was pretty sure he saw blue right behind it, but he was too weak to try to make out the figure. With a sigh, he collapsed completely.

Ukrainian pilots will start training on 4ª generation Western fighters in the United Kingdom, focused on the F-16
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 05/15/2023 - 19:02 in Military, War Zones
Ukrainian pilots will soon begin flight training for NATO's standard fourth-generation fighter operation, the UK government confirmed before Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to London on Monday.
In February, the UK Prime Minister announced plans to develop a new training program for Ukrainian pilots to support their efforts to build a new Ukrainian air force with standard NATO F-16 jets.
Tumblr media
This summer, the United Kingdom plans to host an elementary flight phase for Ukrainian pilots to learn basic training.
Tumblr media

This will adapt the program used by UK pilots to provide Ukrainians with piloting skills that they can use on a different type of aircraft. This training goes hand in hand with the United Kingdom's efforts to work with other countries in the supply of F-16 jets - Ukraine's favorite fighters.
“This is a crucial moment in Ukraine's resistance to a terrible war of aggression that they did not choose or provoke. They need the sustained support of the international community to defend themselves against the flood of relentless and indiscriminate attacks that have been their daily reality for more than a year,” said UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Tumblr media
"We shouldn't disappoint them. The front line of Putin's war of aggression may be in Ukraine, but the flaws extend all over the world. It is in our interest to ensure that Ukraine is successful and that Putin's barbarism is not rewarded.

“That's why the United Kingdom maintains our support for Ukraine - from tanks to training, from ammunition to armored vehicles. And this message of solidarity will sound loud in all my meetings with other world leaders in the coming days."

Next month, the United Kingdom will host a Ukraine Recovery Conference to galvanize international investment to support the reconstruction of Ukraine, promoting the emerging sectors where the country was thriving before Putin's large-scale invasion, such as clean energy and technology.

The day before his visit to London, Zelensky visited Germany, which promised its largest military aid package for Ukraine, valued at more than 2.7 billion euros.
It is also important to note that the United Kingdom confirmed last week that it provided Storm Shadow precision missiles to Ukraine. These are the first long-range cruise missiles in Ukraine's arsenal and have already been used by Ukraine in its defense against the Russian invasion, according to several reports.

Since Stork(storm hawks) is the only canon adult i think
Stork/Ravess, Stork/Repton, Stork/Starling
Truly I don't ship Stork with anyone but his damn airship but let's try
Stork/Ravess - NOTP
He can't have Ravess because Ravess should be with MEEEEE
Stork/Repton - OTP
I don't know why but I think nervous paranoid stork and giant raptor man would at least be the funniest combo here.
Stork/Starling - BROTP
It's been a while since I've rewatched the series, but I think these two got along fine? If anything, Starling seems like she'd be a cool collected figure that could calm stork down (or at least try)
