I will say I genuinely love how like playful and teasing so many of Gale's kisses are, like I genuinely love couples that can tease and banter and give each other shit, and Gale having a habit of pretending he doesn't get that the player wants a real kiss or pulling away is so cute, plus like I really love the vibe that he really does want to like feel desired and teasing the player to the point their yanking him in for a kiss just makes him feel wanted and loved and desired and ahhh

How're you enjoying PoE2 so far? Which build did you end up going?

It's pretty excellent! I went Stormweaver Archmage, tho honestly my build is kinda in limbo atm, trying to figure out defenses so I can spec EB without dying (and I have nowhere near enough mana regen for MoM anytime soon, tho I do have some of the mini-MoM nodes specced)

Most of my gear is from act 3 so my resistances are in the gutter atm, really gotta just trade for some better stuff.. I can clear T1 maps if I'm super careful, but it's a struggle so I'm mostly farming A6 zones while I figure my shit out

Right now most of my damage is Spark + OoS + Mana Tempest, but I should really look at other spells in the long term since most of my tree scaling is generic ele (do have a +3 lightning wand atm tho)

Act 3 - H'el

Episode 48

Spark slid over a stack of papers. 

“See this graph?”

“Uh-huh?” She flashed a grin at Flint, who shrugged and nodded in approval.

Spark continued enthusiastically,

“That’s the Pocket energy levels as it rose, peaked, and fell over the course of a celestial alignment of just Illia and Tryl with the sun, a couple of years ago. This was in the middle of a random moon phase, no lunar alignment, and no other worlds in the system aligned.”

He flipped the page. “And this one? It charts over a typical full moon for the Whole Moon.”

Another page. “And this is what we saw a few months ago during the eclipse. That was the opposite of a full moon, of course, and the sun and Struck Moon were opposite. But look here…” Spark pointed to a point on the chart. “This is when the Pocket started glowing.” 

He shifted his finger to a higher point. “And this is when it started humming.” 

Spark pointed to the energy level peak. “And this, Aiani, is the pulse. The point when you started glowing, and people screamed just by seeing your natural face.” He elbowed Flint. “Can you blame ‘em, bruh?”

Aiani wrinkled her nose at him. “Watch it, little man. How does this apply to the Council's surge plan?”

Spark flipped back through each of the sheets again. “Watch.” 

When he flipped through them quickly, Aiani’s eyes widened with understanding. In each sheet, the energy levels were progressively higher. “So this alignment will be all of those energy levels combined–”

“Plus the alignment of the nearest two giant gas worlds in the outer reaches of the system,” Spark interjected.

“Plus those, yes. So it will really set off Pocket energies. But what does this have to do with people using electric power, and… all that other stuff you said?”

Spark pointed back to the chart on the day of the Pocket Rift. “This is how the Pocket behaved on its own, over a long period of time. The energy gradually built up, and that humming noise seemed to be like a warning that the Pocket was getting overcharged. The little burst we saw was a discharge of that energy.”

“Alright, and…?”

“And imagine what will happen if the Pocket can’t naturally discharge? Because the Surge plan is for all of Stormweaver’s casters in the Magic Guild to keep turning the Pocket energy back on itself. They'll keep it built up, trying to amplify the range of the effect that Pockets have on our use of magic in Tryl.”

“But if it can’t discharge, won’t it just keep on building?” she asked.

Spark forced a grim smile. “Now you’re getting it.”

“What will happen if it keeps on building?”

“Well, there’s no way to know for sure until it happens. But I have 3 different theories, and none of them are good.”

“What are they? In basic terms,” she asked.

“I call them The Surge, The Pulse, and The Suck.”

Aiani scowled. “I don’t like the sound of any of those.”

“Ya think?”

“Which is the most likely?”

Spark grimaced and shrugged. “It’s a tossup between the Surge and the Pulse. Maybe even one followed by the other.”

“What happens in the Surge?”

“Well, you see… A Pocket occurs where two leylines intersect in the aetherial lattice that wrap each world, right? For this scenario each leyline has its own resonance, and if the Pockets can't naturally discharge, it could overcharge, and the resonance from each of the paired ley line frequencies could just keep building the energy against each other exponentially.”

“Until?”

Spark shrugged. “Until it somehow discharges. If it were just one Pocket, it would be no big deal, the energy would probably redistribute through the lattice. But Stormweaver’s plan is to charge every Pocket at the same time. There's nowhere for it to go. So the buildup continues until either Tryl can't contain it anymore and it splits the world like the Struck Moon… Or the Pulse happens.”

“What about the Pulse?”

“An enormous electromagnetic discharge pulses out from every Pocket around Tryl, which will fuse and burn out most electrical devices– especially electronic devices, and probably take out most communication and electrical power networks.”

Aiani gripped her Comm device possessively. “Then no one can send messages?” 

Spark raised an eyebrow over his glasses. “Yeah, there's a little bit more at stake here than your newfound affinity for messaging. If that happens, Tryl gets knocked back 50 to 100 years of technological development.”

“So that's how those death counts could happen.”

Flint and Spark both nodded at her grimly.
