straightsian / straight celarsian

Celarsian versions of straightgay terms like straightrian (straight turian), straightbian (straight lesbian), straightlian (straight cenelian), and such.

The term name comes from "straight" plus the "sian" ending from "celarsian".

The top 3/monochrome stripes are for straight, and the other 3 colours, purple, dark purple, and teal, come from celarsian and represent it. I compressed/combined the original celarsian colours into just 3 colours to into the 3 colour format of the other straightgay flags.

decided to make a general straight gay flag! this flag is for anyone who experiences both straight and gay attraction in any way to any gender(s)!

the flags are based on this straight lesbian flag/this straight lesbian flag and the general gay flag, with the flag formats/black and white stripes representing straight attraction and the colorful stripes representing gay attraction. the colorful stripes are combos of the gay flag’s stripes (purple + red, yellow + orange, green + blue) adjusted to look nicer.

is this about me saying rwrb had straight energy… regardless of how many queer people worked on it, the overall message was assimilationist. the main characters were a variety i like to call ‘straightgay’ where they’re gay only in the most surface level way while removing queerness from its radical political history and making them so inoffensive and bland as to ensure neoliberal white moms aren’t alienated. the inherent politicism of queerness is erased in favor of a fantasy queerness that celebrates power structures like the monarchy and entirely ignores how they oppressed us for centuries, aside from the weak “oh no my peepaw don’t like me :(“ conflict henry gets.

rwrb is entirely un-reflective, taking the author’s neoliberal political views at face value and presenting a version of US and UK power structures that both clearly contain homophobia but to such a limited extent that it’s clear no one working on it truly understood it. the characters’ conflicts were shallow, the guy playing alex could barely act, and the film’s attempt to get the audience to feel bad for these characters who represent the power structures that still oppress us fell extremely flat.

the “but the shareholders!” excuse might explain parts of this, but a lot of it was present to an even more extreme extent in the book (alex’s mom being besties with netanyahu, for example). that explanation also doesn’t mean it can’t or shouldn’t be criticized. amazon studios approved the show a league of their own (at least he first season), which dealt expertly with the intersection of queerness and class and race, had realistic, well-made characters, and a powerful emotional center. if you feel like you need to blame amazon for the movie being shit, i’m sorry, it might just be shit

Straipphic, pronounced as "stray-fic": Experiencing both straight and sapphic attraction, such as a multigender person who is both a boy and a girl who likes girls, or a bi person who chooses to identify this way. Flag is inspired by the straight flag and the sapphic flag.

These terms are not mutually exclusive and someone can be both at the same time, but for people who want a combination term and flag, heres a Straipphillean flag

Straipphillean: Experiencing straight, sapphic, and achillean attraction. Such as a multigender person who is a boy and a girl who likes boys and girls, or a bi person who chooses to identify this way. Flag is inspired by the straipphic and straillean flags.

These were coined and designed as a sapphic and achillean and sapphillean alternative to straightbian and straightgay. As always you do not need to identify as these if you don't want to.

I love mspec terms :D !! I was sorting through my mspec flags folder, and thought, if there are mspec gaybian terms/flags, why not mspec straightgay? 24 flags later and here we are lol

These flags use @neopronouns straightgay flag (7 stripe version), as well as the mspec, bi, ply, omni, pan, and abro flags. I basically just mixed the colors together (and put a grey stripe on top, for the straight part), and tried to make them resemble both of the original flags, while using just 5 colors.

If there are any suggestions for these flags (looks very similar to another flag, editing to reduce potential eyestrain / make them look nicer, etc.) I am open to changing them. (my requests are closed but I'll allow it for this.)
