30 Day Writing Challenge: 27. Write an ending without a beginning

So this was going to be my angst entry, but I started it towards the end instead of the beginning and then I realized there's so much more I need to write ahead of this that it's my ending without a beginning. Eventually I will add the start and put it in my "Making A Go Of It" series.

Why was he asking her to stay? Selfish reasons, he knew, but she loved him. She’d told him and he hadn’t been able to say the words back and it had broken her heart. And then he’d thrown himself headfirst into the fight and nearly died. Would have died without Wong taking immediate care of him. And he asked her to stay.

He was a selfish bastard and he didn’t deserve her.

The door opened and the woman he was thinking about, all the damn time it seemed, walked in. “I have soup in a cup, orange juice and a protein shake,” she said. His jaw had been one of the few bones not broken but it still hurt to talk and eat.

“Stay,” he said.

“I will. When you’re healed, I’ll make arrangements to finalize the divorce with Matt and Foggy’s firm and then I’ll go back to England. We can pretend we were never married.

“Stay,” he said, more insistently this time. “Love...you.”

Her eyes widened. “You love me?”

“Yes.”

“Oh, Stephen. I can’t believe this. I thought it was...I wasn’t sure what to think. And then you got hurt!” She was crying and he would have given anything to wipe her tears away. “I’ll stay. Of course I’ll stay.” She set the tray down, wiped her eyes, and then carefully cradled his cheek in her hand. “I still love you, Stephen. I think I have since I came looking for the divorce. I’ll stay.”

"Good," he said softly, leaning into her touch and shutting his eyes. Maybe the roiling in his heart would stop and the damning conversation with Christine would stop haunting him. He could only hope.

Well since this is a crossover pairing it will be a bit more difficult to answer but i’ll do my best. Also forgive the late answer, but in the last couple of days i haven’t been able to sit on my computer at all.

when of if I started shipping it. Well i can’t exactly pin point exactly when i started shipping them. Probably the first time i read a fanfic about them i guess. 

my thoughts: It’s a sexy pairing.

What makes me happy about them: They are very supportive of each other.

What makes me sad about them: They are not in the same universe.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: I haven’t read enough fanfics of them ( something i plan to change soon ) to find anything that annoys me.

things I look for in fanfic: Fluff, angst, happy ending, maybe some smut.

My wishlist: Well i kinda wish that Loo would get to be Clea in the movies so i could maybe vid them of fic them more easily, but i don’t know if that counts.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Molly with Sherlock obviously. And Stephen with Christine or Clea. Unless they make Christine to be Clea. Also Tony. But that’s not going to happen so...

My happily ever after for them: Well since they are not in the same universe i’m not sure how to answer that. I just want both those characters to be happy and that’s all.

just a headcanon: Stephen Strange and Molly attended the same university and were rivals (even though their degrees and careers are complete opposites they competed over who got the best grades and who made the most discoveries) and the sexual tension between them was HUGE. Like, literally everyone expected them to bang each other and end up together.

I posted this hours ago but crashed from staying up all night. Here you go!

Injured (A “Making A Go Of It” Story) - Stephen is severely injured and thinks he can make it to his room without Molly noticing. When he passes out in the foyer, he finds Molly has a thing or two to say about his injuries.

“Make me.”

“That doesn’t work anymore, Stephen. We’re not children anymore.”

“But you can’t make me--”

“I manhandle dead bodies heftier than you, and I know a few different forms of martial arts. Now sit on the damn toilet and let me take care of you.”

Stephen swallowed and sat down on the toilet, hissing slightly at the pain from his injuries. He was more bruised and battered than anything else, but there were a few deepish cuts that needed to be tended to. Wong could do it, Wong usually did, but he’d made the mistake of thinking Molly was asleep when he collapsed in the foyer.

The next thing he knew he was being manhandled towards the bathroom and Molly was digging around for a first aid kit. “I can use magic.”

“No.” There was a tremor in her voice he hadn’t detected before. Now that he looked at her more closely, she was shaking.

“These injuries aren’t that bad--”

“Aren’t that bad? You passed out in the foyer! How much of that is bruising and how much of it is blood loss, hmm?”

“I didn’t want you to see this,” he said quietly.

“Well, I have. And I’ll tell you the same thing I told Sherlock when I patched up his wounds: you die on me and I’ll find a way to resurrect you and then I’ll kill you myself.”

Her lip was trembling and she was blinking heavily, and he didn’t care how much it hurt, he pulled her into a tight embrace. “I’m so sorry, Molly. I get hurt sometimes.”

“I’m your wife still, Stephen. You’re not allowed to die on me until the divorce is final.” Her voice was muffled by being buried in the Cloak of Levitation, which was pushing for her to lift her head up so it could wipe her tears away.

He chuckled for a moment then tapered off as he felt a sharp pain in his ribs. Add at least one broken rib to the tally of injuries, he thought to himself. “If I call a healer, will you rest with me until I’m 100% again?” he asked.

“Yes,” she said, lifting her head up and looking at him. The Cloak went to work on her, and she smiled a little. “Was Wong with you?”

“No, he’s in the London Sanctum, going over the new recruits. I’ll call him and have him send a Healer to my room if you’ll help me to it?”

“Alright,” she said. He stood, a little wobbly at first but soon he steadied. Molly squirmed her way under his arm and braced him with an arm around his waist, and once again she helped him get from point A to point B. Once they got to his room the Cloak floated off his shoulders and he sank into his bed. He reached into his nightstand carefully and pulled out his cell phone, dialing Wong’s number.

“I thought you were going to magically call him,” Molly said, going to the other side and sitting on the bed.

“I don’t think I can do much magic right now,” he said. “My head is throbbing.”

“Concussion,” she said. “Like hell am I letting you sleep before we find out if there’s a brain bleed or something.”

He nodded and then winced, realizing that probably hadn’t been the best idea. He dialed Wong’s number and after a moment he said “Send a Healer, portal to my bedroom. Molly’s with me.”

She curled up next to him, giving him some space so the Healer could do whatever they needed to do, and a portal opened moments later and a young man walked through. “Sorceror Supreme?” he asked, his eyes wide.

“Concussion, at least one broken rib, bruises, deep cuts on my arms,” he said. “And she stays.”

The Healer nodded and began to work on Stephen. He had to admit, he didn’t want Molly to see just how badly he was hurt, but as he felt better he knew it had been the right thing to do. Finally, the Healer moved away from the bed and bowed, and then opened a portal and left. Molly curled into him and he cautiously lifted up an arm to wrap around her.

“So you’re better now?”

“I’m better now. I just need to rest. And no worries about brain bleeds; if there were any, they’re healed too.” He turned to face her, and then pressed a kiss into her hair. “I can’t guarantee this won’t happen again, but I’ll try and head towards the London or Hong Kong Sanctums and get healed before I come back to rest.”

“No, no, if you’re hurt they can come to you,” she said. “Don’t try to keep me safe from what you do. Just keep me safe from threats, okay? I mean, don’t lie to me about getting hurt.”

“I won’t lie to you about getting hurt,” he said with a nod. She pressed her face into the crook of his neck and he shut his eyes, easily falling into a comforting and restorative sleep with his still-wife at his side.

Sherlock: So...you can inhabit the body of your other self in another so called dimension using this book?

Strange: Technically, a spell from said book, yes. Albeit with dire consequences to one's mind.

Sherlock: And you saved all our realities by sleepwalking into your other self's corpse?

Strange: Dreamwalking.

Sherlock: Hmm (turns to Molly), I think this could work?

Strange (looks between them in realization): Oh no, not going to happen Holmes.

Sherlock: Strange! You're a doctor! Think of it for science!

Strange: No, I will not teach you to dreamwalk into a dead body in another dimension just so Molly can perform an autopsy on you while you are in said body!

Molly: It would be interesting, wouldn't it? But would it be considered vivisection if the body is dead, yet Sherlock's consciousness is there?

Strange: Molly, sweetheart, you aren't seriously considering in participating in Holmes' half-baked idea?

Sherlock: I'm not high...currently.

Molly: I mean, I did "kill" him before...so...this isn't too far off.

Strange (holds the bridge of his nose in exasperation): Right, but I want credit on the publication.

Sherlock: I'll be sure to give you credit on my blog, Stephen. (Cloak of Levitation proceeds to slap him on the head)

2 - How’s their team work? Do they share well?

They share what they’re allowed to – some of Molly’s cases with Sherlock are classified and some of Stephen’s adventures aren’t for everyone to hear, but they share what they can. Molly loves hearing Stephen talk about magic and Stephen loves hearing Molly talk about pathology. When something comes their way that requires the expertise of both of them, they work astonishingly well together. Their friends have said more than once that it’s like the two of them are telepathic.

4 - First impression of each other? Was it love at first sight?

Molly first saw Stephen in his full “master of the mystic arts” regalia and assumed he was on his way to a con. Stephen took one look at her mismatched clothes and simple ponytail and thought she was uninteresting. Definitely not love at first sight for either of them.

It was another story the next time they saw each other – it was at a black tie dinner Sherlock dragged her to because of a case.

6 - Any tasks that are always left to one person?

Molly cooks and Stephen does the dishes since his impaired dexterity makes cooking difficult.

8 - What do the like best about their partner?

Molly loves Stephen’s dedication and his sense of humor. Stephen loves Molly’s loyalty and her sweetness.

10 - Who drives? Cooks? Does the handiwork? Cleans? Pays the bills? Handles the public?

Molly does the driving and cooking, Stephen does the dishes and cleaning (usually by magic), Molly pays the bills since Stephen doesn’t have a bank account, and Molly handles the public – the tabloids have been relentless since “the Mystic Avenger” dating a “mere” pathologist is popular with readers.

38. What are they like in the bedroom? Any kinks/fetishes/turn-ons? Anything they won’t do?

Contrary to people who think that Molly is sheltered and prudish (as if a taste for baggy sweaters could tell them everything about her!), and that Stephen is a selfish lover, they’re actually both quite adventurous.

It started with the necessity of working around Stephen’s limited dexterity; but both of them are curious, and working in medicine has given them comfort and understanding of the human body.

They’re apart more than they would like, and frequently send very racy texts to one another!  However, the time zone difference means that they often arrive when the other is at work!  (Sherlock and Wong have both learned not to ask what sort of texts make Molly blush, and Stephen smile like that...)

39. Who initiated the relationship? Who kissed who first?  When did they realize they were in love?

They both knew they were falling for one another, but it was Molly who finally took the plunge.  Stephen was convinced that getting involved with him-- broken, and with a terrible track record, not to mention the literal villains-- was too dangerous.

Molly was terrified when she kissed him.  

But there was no denying the spark between them, and their first kiss swiftly turned into making out against the kitchen counter at the New York Sanctum (at least until they were interrupted by the unexpected arrival of some Asgardian pests!)

40. Any special memories? Do they have a special place they like to go to?

When they have time together, they tend to cloister themselves away a little-- after weeks apart, the last thing they want is to share each other with any with the general public!

But Molly has taken Stephen to meet her mother, and sometimes he likes to show off and take her somewhere ‘nice’ (see: on the other side of the world, through a portal).

41. Are they party-goers? What are they like when they’re drunk? Does it happen often?

Neither of them is particularly keen on parties!  The hangovers after 30 are just wicked.  But when Molly gets tipsy, she gets giggly and flushed, and Stephen finds her embarrassingly adorable.

Molly has only seen Stephen drunk once, and it involved yelling at an episode of ‘House’... Neither of them talk about it, but sometimes Molly gives him a sidelong smirk, and Stephen swears off liquor for another year!

42. Do they let each other get away with things that would normally bother them?

Very much!  Sherlock has complained (more than a few times!) that Molly would let Stephen get away with murder... and why can’t she do that for him?  Molly usually just rolls her eyes at him, and tries not to laugh. 

Molly and Stephen are still learning how to live together, and it involves compromise... But they’re so happy to have found one another, that it make even the rough patches worth the effort.

So it’s officially only one month left for my birthday to arrive. So with my birthday coming up soon I think it's time for me to open up my commissions again.

My target for this birthday is to gather up around 500€ so I can celebrate my birthday the way I want to since I haven’t really celebrated my birthdays the way i want to celebrate them in years. Hence me opening commissions.
