This may be the proper time to remind people that I actually have to stop myself from exclusively choosing Druid or the closest thing available whenever I play stuff or I wouldn't play anything else.

Writing Notes: Serial Killer
Serial Killer - a person who methodically murders a substantial number of people over a period of time.
The definition of serial murder varies.
The lowest number of victims is 3 in most cases, although certain investigative agencies move the barometer higher or lower.
Signs of a Serial Killer
Serial killers often share some common traits. Here are just a few to consider:
Childhood troubles: Some of the most prolific serial killers have long histories of brutal child abuse in their pasts. For example, Ottis Toole—convicted of six counts of murder—grew up a victim of incest and violence at the hands of relatives. This is a common element in the backstories of several serial killers. Persistent bedwetting, fire starting, and cruelty to animals during youth can also be harbingers of future serial killing.
Lack of empathy: Serial killers almost always have a total lack of empathy, remorse, or guilt. They see themselves as entitled to torturing and killing their victims, often dehumanizing them in their eventual confessions to law enforcement.
Manipulative personalities: Some serial killers are quite charismatic and manipulative. Ted Bundy wrapped the media around his finger during his trial. H.H. Holmes made a name for himself as a prolific swindler and con man alongside killing dozens of people. Harold Shipman was a well-respected doctor and pillar of his community who killed well over two hundred patients.
Methodical killing style: Most serial killers murder their victims in a methodical, pattern-based fashion. For instance, Moses Sithole of South Africa chose women victims in their twenties who were unemployed. After offering them jobs, he would lead them to one of the remote areas where he committed his crimes.
Motives of Serial Killers
While each serial killer might murder for different reasons, certain motives crop up time and time again. Consider the following:
Hunger for power: Serial killers often murder because of a desire for power. They seek to dominate their victims, not just kill them. Some theorize the worst mass murderers of history (e.g., Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, etc.) might have become serial killers if their ascension to power didn’t enable them to enact their violent crime fantasies on a wider scale.
Notoriety: Both serial murderers and spree killers (like mass shooters) often kill in the interest of attention. The Son of Sam killer (David Berkowitz) sent letters taunting New York police. The Zodiac Killer (still unknown) sent cryptic messages about his killings to Bay Area newspapers and law enforcement agencies. Albert DeSalvo, the alleged Boston Strangler, may have turned himself in for even more murders than he actually committed in the interest of greater notoriety.
Psychosis: Many—some would argue all—serial killers are verifiable and literal psychopaths. For instance, murderers like Ed Kemper and Jeffrey Dahmer had troubled histories before they even began killing their victims.
Revenge: Some serial murderers use their killings as an opportunity to seek revenge against the people who wronged them. For instance, a “black widow” (e.g., female serial killer), such as Aileen Wuornos, might murder innocent men or the wrongdoers themselves to feel like they are exacting revenge upon men who brutally mistreated them.
Sadistic pleasure: Serial killers might gain a deranged sense of delight in torturing and murdering their victims. For instance, both Ted Bundy and Gary Ridgway (the Green River Killer) preyed on young women to act out their sadistic sexual fantasies before killing them.
Some Notorious Serial Killers
These are just a few of the worst serial killers in history:
Aileen Wuornos: Although Wuornos argued her killings were in self-defense, juries convicted her of 6 counts of first-degree murder for crimes that occurred between November 1989 and November 1990 in Florida. The state executed her in 2002.
Albert DeSalvo: Despite the fact DeSalvo confessed to being the Boston Strangler, people dispute the credibility of his claims. Authorities associate thirteen female victims with the Boston Strangler. In 2013, experts confirmed DNA evidence linked DeSalvo to the sexual assault and murder of one of those victims.
David Berkowitz: The media called Berkowitz the Son of Sam after he used the phrase in a letter he mailed to New York police before they identified him. He was sentenced to serve 6 life sentences for murdering 6 young women and attempting to kill others.
Ed Kemper: Nicknamed the “Co-ed Killer,” Kemper murdered 10 people, most of them female college students he picked up while they were hitchhiking.
Gary Ridgway: Also known as the Green River Killer, Ridgway killed more than four dozen people, the bodies of whom he tended to deposit in the woods around the Green River in Washington.
Harold Shipman: An English doctor, Shipman killed his female victims by way of lethal injections. A jury convicted him of fifteen murders, although there is evidence he was responsible for the deaths of up to 250 people.
Henri Landru: Nicknamed the “Bluebeard of Gambais,” Landru was a Frenchman who killed at least eleven people between 1914 and 1919. After the jury found him guilty and sentenced him to death, he died by guillotine.
H.H. Holmes: Although convicted of just one murder, Holmes confessed to more than two dozen. Prior to his imprisonment, he was a con artist, responsible for check forgeries, insurance fraud, and other crimes. The state of Pennsylvania hanged him for the killing of Benjamin Pitezel, Holmes’s former business partner.
Jack the Ripper: Authorities associate this unknown person (or persons) with multiple murders in Victorian England. The victims were all women, and all died from violent stabbings.
Jeffrey Dahmer: This US American serial killer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal, stalked the Midwest for victims. He preserved and even ate the body parts of those he killed before being apprehended by the police.
John Wayne Gacy: Also known as the Killer Clown, Gacy—a party clown performer— almost exclusively preyed on young men. When law enforcement brought him to justice, the remains they found buried in his house made for one of the most notorious and grisly crime scenes in history.
Ottis Toole: Juries convicted Toole of 6 counts of murder plus arson. He died while in prison in Florida.
Richard Ramirez: This Los Angeles serial murderer attacked almost 20 people and killed at least 13. The media referred to him as the “Night Stalker” before criminologists were able to track down and identify him.
Ted Bundy: Responsible for crimes in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, and Colorado, Bundy had at least two dozen victims but possibly as many as a hundred. He was responsible for abducting, sexually assaulting, and killing young women across the five states.
Zodiac Killer: Responsible for one of the most notorious killing sprees in US American history, the still unidentified Zodiac Killer was active in and around San Francisco in the late 1960s. The media referred to the unknown male by the name “Zodiac Killer” after he used the term Zodiac in his cryptic messages to Bay Area newspapers and law enforcement agencies.
The Investigation of a Serial Killer
To investigate a serial killer, various levels of law enforcement will work together.
If a local pattern emerges, the relevant police department might coordinate with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
If a more disparate geographical pattern of killings crops up, investigators might begin to reach out to other areas about cold cases of a similar ilk.
Investigative task forces might work for years or even decades to identify a serial killer.
They seek to connect separate events over a sustained period of time, as well as to build a psychological profile of the killer.
This helps narrow down the search for the perpetrator.
They then tie together clues left behind to capture the murderer.
Sometimes they’re successful—other times, cases stay cold and mysteries remain unsolved.
History of Serial Killings
When most people refer to the crime sprees of serial killers, they’re thinking of a particularly notorious set of murderers from recent history.
Serial killers have existed throughout all of history, however, in one iteration or another and are not unique to a particular country.
Jack the Ripper, an unknown person (or persons) authorities associate with a series of slayings in Victorian England, is practically synonymous with the term “serial killer.”
Henri Landru (the Bluebeard of Gambais) was a French killer from around the same era.

Teen Wolf fanfiction recs:
Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski [Part 6]
"the one where Derek gets high" 🔒 (E) by nighimpossible | 1,167 | Derek needs to find a way to relax, and Stiles is more than willing to assist.
"Sevens and Eights" (T) by calrissian18 | 10,092 | Stiles has a bandage slung under his chin like a disembodied helmet strap when Derek first meets him. It’s complemented by a chipped front tooth and a scrape of road rash across his cheek.
"in case of emergency" 🔒 (G) by nighimpossible | 970 | Derek finds out that he is Stiles' emergency contact in a surprising fashion.
"You Saw Me Standing Alone" (E) by anonymous | 43,947 | A pack of alpha werewolves is burning a war path through Beacon Hills; Stiles shouldn’t have the luxury of trying to get laid.
"Water for the Baby" (T) by afullrevolution | 12,134 | Stiles always thought his touch telepathy was frustrating, but finding out someone's a werewolf while trying to knock them on their ass? That's just fun.
"I Walked with You Once Upon a Dream" (T) by afullrevolution | 9,319 | Stiles has already seen his future and is confused about his past (it's all a bit like dreaming). Scott is just trying to help and Derek doesn't know what is going on, but is more than willing to go with it.
"Once, Twice, Three Times" 🔒 (E) by kth | 3,898 | The Beacon Hills Strangler, as Stiles has come to think of their newest serial killer, seems to have moved on from killing virgins for the time being. That doesn’t calm Stiles at all though; he knows about patterns. Sometimes they repeat.
"We're very fortunate, indeed" (T) by MemeKon | 2,055 | "Do you really think we'd be good together?" Stiles says, out of nowhere, eyes faintly narrowed, nose scrunched. "Like, honestly? Because everyone goes on and on about it, and I think--" "Does this look like a good time to be thinking about that?" He replies, mind blank and teeth long and menacing, clenched with a strength that makes his jaw ache after a few minutes. Body tense, curled like an iron spiral. "Well, excuse me." He whispers, hands tight on his weapon, long fingers paled from the pressure. "Let's talk about this the next time we get together for tea and cookies, shall we?"
"Better Than Revenge" 🔒 (E) by kth | 7,330 | Deucalion pokes at the ground with his cane, narrowly misses taking out a baby spruce. “Mm, you know it isn’t really a party with just two, Hale.” He smiles and, yeah, Stiles is scared shitless but also a little bit turned on.
"It's like he's all that" (T) by MemeKon | 3,639 | Stiles is different. Stiles is not nice under any definition of the word, he’s such an asshole. Sure, he’s a good guy deep down, he punched Jackson square in the jaw when he mocked the McCall kid for an asthma attack that one time, and Derek knows he helped Erica Reyes get that video of her seizure taken down, but he’s so— "Fuck off, Derek." Stiles tells him without sparing him a glance when Derek sits next to him on chemistry. "I’m not up to play She’s All That with you, dude."
"Lay us down (we're young and in love)" (M) by MemeKon | 3,673 | For all that Stiles acts like he knows his own value, acts like he's the shit, deep inside he's just a kid that's... What? Never been touched? But he has. Been touched, that is. There's Derek, who's pressed his hands everywhere Stiles has allowed him access to; and before that... There was the girl, Heather? And before... And before nothing. That's it.
"You got me trippin', stumblin', flippin', fumblin'" (T) by MemeKon | 3,640 | Stiles gives him a lopsided smile, asks him, “are you gonna let me in or what, man?”, gesturing at Derek expansively with his long, nimble fingers, and Stiles’ shirt is maybe a little small on his growing frame, because with the movement of his arm it shows a sliver of skin, a little of pale stomach, and Derek has to clear his throat. “Yeah, sure.” He says.
"Like wine upon the lips" (T) by MemeKon | 1,673 | “So, the word's on the streets that you're some sexy polyglot,” Stiles says, wiggling his eyebrows annoyingly before he slumps on the couch next to him and puts his feet on Derek's coffee table, limbs akimbo, loose and long. “Sexy polyglot,” Derek repeats, raising an eyebrow, and pushing Stiles' feet off the table with his own. “Yeah, you know, sexy man of many languages.” “I know what polyglot means,” he replies.
"I'm gonna write another traveling song" (T) by MemeKon | 5,732 | They are in Santa Rosa when he gets the first text. 'im sorry' Derek stares at it for what feels like a minute but is probably twenty seconds. Still excessive. The phone beeps again. 'for the Kate thing i mean. i'm sorry for bringing it up and rubbing your face in it'
"Outer Dark: A Pornographic Fever Dream" (E) by ahab2692 | 3,030 | It’s inevitable, Scott knows that now. Stiles and Derek will happen one way or the other. The only question left is how much blood will be spilled between now and then.
"Response" (M) by MemeKon | 1,077 | “It freaks me out a little when you do this.” Stiles says one evening upon finding him waiting for him on his room, heart racing, palms smelling of cold sweat. It makes every joint on Derek’s body ache. He’s wet and half naked, recently showered, and the trail of hair coming out of his low hanging shorts leading up to his navel is sticking to his skin and making Derek’s brain short circuit. “It shouldn’t,” he answers, trying to tear his eyes away from Stiles’ lower abdomen, from his hips and his- “you’re pack.”
"Questionable Life Choices" (E) by cancelcompassion | 10k+ WIP | Derek is resentful, Stiles looks surprisingly good without a shirt on, and then Stiles decides to Chuck Norris the shit out of some stuff.
"You Were a Kindness When I Was a Stranger" (E) by DevilDoll | 8,092 | "It's not all handcuffs and spankings and learning to deep throat." This is an AU with consensual BDSM sex acts, in which Derek supports Stiles financially in exchange for a sexual relationship. Stiles is of legal age.
"Once Kitten, Twice Shy" 🔒 (T) by Jerakeen | 718 | “Awww. Who’s a happy wolfy.”
"Something Weird" 🔒 (M) by Jerakeen | 1,455 | "So I pretend-held your hand," Stiles says with half a shrug. "How was that weirder than me doing things to your dick?"
"A Handprint on the Door" (T) by mrsvc | 5,233 | 5x Derek and Stiles ended up sleeping at the same time (but not necessarily together), and the one time they did.
"A Long Way To Go" (T) by tekmessa | 10,572 | Five times Derek happened to come across Stiles by accident, and one time Derek chose to seek him out.
"Found The Place To Rest My Head" 🔒 (M) by Lapin | 5,468 | There are selkies being controlled, and a witch out for power, and there's Derek and Stiles. There's always Derek and Stiles, and if Derek has his way, it will always, always be that way.
"frat au" (E) by endversed | 32,318 | Derek is a closeted frat boy, and Stiles gets under his skin.
"Five" 🔒 (M) by Jerakeen | 333 | Five. Five of them. He must’ve said it out loud because Stiles is also staring at his hand now, shocked and frozen. Derek doesn’t have the courage to look into Stiles’ eyes—not now, not after this—but his eyes move anyway, as if magnetized, and lock with Stiles’ over their tangled hands. "This is real," Stiles says.
"From the Cradle to the Grave" (T) by jezziejay | 4,207 | It’s not that the sheriff doesn’t like Derek. It’s just that he thinks Stiles could do better. But Stiles has been an adult for over two years now, so he can make his own choices. Even if they are terrible.
"Heatwave" 🔒 (E) by Jerakeen | 2,816 | The drug is called heatwave. It supposedly emulates werewolf heats on humans. And yes, Stiles is stupid enough to take it on a dare.
"The Scent of Ink" 🔒 (T) by bloodwrites | 587 | Stiles was ten the first time he met Derek Hale. He's almost certain Derek doesn't remember.
"i'm hard up for some time in your sheets" (E) by ToastMaloneIII | 6,640 | Derek coos gently and rubs the cat’s cheek, smiling when he purrs happily. “He plays hard to get but he’s a cuddle fiend. When I get home from work, he’s all over me.” Stiles smiles at the two of them and Derek hums in response, “Oh yeah?”. He takes a sip of his tea, notes how close they are sitting, and stretches his leg closer to Stiles’ as he sets his mug back on the table. He tracks the flick of Stiles’ tongue across his bottom lip with hungry eyes, heat pooling in his belly as desire bleeds into Stiles’ heavy gaze. “In his defense, I would be too.”
"you got a fast car." (T) by paradis | 1,565 | Scott stares, horrified, at where Stiles is drenched in someone else’s blood, and Derek’s hands are covered, and his DNA is all over the body of the clawed up deputy he’d tried to revive. “It wasn’t supposed to be like this,” Stiles says. He’s not shaking or terrified. “You should go,” Derek says, and Stiles blinks. Stares down at himself. Stares back at Derek. “I’m not going anywhere without you,” Stiles says.
"lay your weary head to rest" (M) by Petr1chor | 3,877 | “I know you like being protective of him, Stiles,” Lydia said, her snark sounding sharper than usual, “But he’s the one who is most trained, and most likely to hold his own against her if something goes wrong.” “Stiles, I’m perfectly capable of making my own goddamn decisions,” Derek snapped. “We’re going ahead, everyone get ready, we leave in half an hour.”
"It's Been Four Hundred and Ninety Days" (T) by paradis | 4,486 | It’s been four hundred and ninety days, and it took Derek forever but they’re at day one again.
"Shove" (E) by Qayin | 1,741 | So maybe Derek shoved him around a bit when he saw the kid, so what? That was innocent. Completely innocent. Right until the moment where Derek just couldn’t pretend that it was innocent anymore. Derek liked it.
"All My Kingdoms Turn to Sand" 🔒 (E) by elisera | 6,477 | The real question is what Stiles wants. If he’s looking forward to seeing Derek again because they’ll complete what they started a long time ago or if Stiles is nervous because he’s feeling apprehensive. There’s a real possibility that he told the pack to finally send Derek up in order to tell him thanks, but no thanks. A lot can happen in six years; people change and grow apart and it isn’t like they were allowed to talk.
"take a step before running" 🔒 (M) by magneticwave | 7,314 | Stiles wants to win for America, okay? He wants to bone that constipated expression off of Derek Hale’s face on a bed strewn with American flags while Bruce Springsteen plays in the background and a bald eagle watches through the window with a single tear rolling down its cheek.
"Tiny Houses" (E) by ohmyjetsabel | 77,138 | So this is what Stiles does. He lies in Scott’s bed and waits for Melissa to say she’s found someone to get it out of him, to cure him of the wrongness and the bad, and he dreams.
"Derek Hale's Hidden Talents" (E) by betp | 800 | Stiles and Derek are doing something they should be doing, in a place they shouldn't be doing it in.
"Option C) Some Bad Guys are Werewolves, but Not All Werewolves are Bad Guys" (T) by calrissian18 | 9,039 | Derek Hale—the Incredible Meat that Thinks—needs a math tutor. Stiles Stilinski needs something that will look better on his college applications than 'passable D&D Dungeon Master.' It's a match made in heaven. Er, right?
"Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset" 🔒 (E) by whiskey_in_tea | 18,285 | Stiles leaves Beacon Hills on a Sunday morning. Lydia’s run the numbers and it’s not a sure thing by any stretch of the imagination, but supernatural evil seems mostly inclined to take the Lord’s day to rest just like humans do. He won’t make it back before Monday night but that’s okay, unless whatever comes after them is the actual apocalypse they should be all right— and if it’s the apocalypse his meager skills won’t be of much use anyway.
"the wind beneath my wings" (G) by verity | 1,230 | "Did you check any baggage?" Derek says. "Or is this it?" "You’re—" Stiles squints. "Me?" "Yes," Derek says, not very patiently. Good old Derek.
"Stand Here At The Edge Of Something New" (E) by Chiomi | 3,233 | This is Stiles’ last night of freedom before he’s married to a man he hasn’t seen in over a decade - not even photos, not even Facebook. He intends to make the most of it.
"Not Exactly Comfortable" (T) by entanglednow | 1,227 | "Ok, so this could be worse." Which, on the whole, is probably not the most reassuring thing for Stiles to say right now.
"Negotiation" (T) by entanglednow | 1,158 | Derek's usually really good at shoving him around and making it clear what he wants.
"195% Awake" (E) by accol | 1,316 | "Wait. Was that a zipper?" Derek responded with his usual breathing. Stiles pushed up on his elbows and pressed his phone hard against his ear, straining to hear what was happening on the other end of the line. ”What exactly is this emergency? Are you trapped inside a body bag? A tent? An evil zipper factory?”
"The Scent of an Oncoming Storm" (E) by accol | 13,203 | In the weeks after Derek becomes alpha, he and Stiles form a reluctant team.
"More" 🔒 (M) by coffeeinallcaps | 4,227 | Stiles had never liked Derek. Derek was good-looking, sure; but he was also surly and violent and deceitful and mistrusting and somewhat frightening and a terrible alpha and pretty much impossible to be around. At various points throughout Derek’s snail-paced recovery, Stiles almost considered leaving. But then Derek would do something like make a distressed little noise in his sleep or murmur “Stiles?” again, struggling to blink open his bloodshot eyes, and Stiles would just. Stay.
"Wolf Cub" (E) by moodwriter | 6,946 | A strange wolf is not supposed to touch another pack’s cub and that’s why, on a rescue mission, it’s Stiles’ job to take care of the wolf cub who’s curious about everything and everyone. Stiles is not used to werewolf children, and the pack is not used to Stiles taking care of a child. Their Alpha gets very confused about this, too.
"my heart's been offline" (E) by thepsychicclam | 58,893 | Derek and Stiles meet online, and Stiles has no clue Derek's part of a famous family.
"The Scientific Method" (T) by uraneia | 5,947 | Stiles’s life was so much easier before his BFF got super powers. “But, so, werewolves have super strength, right? And super speed. And better vision, and better muscle control, and healing powers, and stuff. And some of that’s probably, like, genetic, if you can be born a werewolf. Right?” “Yeah,” Scott says. From the perplexed look on his face, he doesn’t yet know where Stiles is going with this. “So?” “So what if you have condom-defeating supersperm?”
"Running Up That Hill" (E) by idyll | 23,575 | In which Derek fights the forces of evil and has no idea how Stiles started working for, or living with, him.
"The Pride of Bastet" (M) by fakinbrilliance | 13k WIP | Stiles is marked by the supernatural, Derek is possessive, and the whole pack is a bundle of feels as they try to work their way through it.
"Tender Offer" (E) by jedusaur | 482 | Derek pops his mouth off Stiles’ dick and says, “I opened a brokerage account.”
"spark like empty lighters" 🔒 (T) by extasiswings for elisela | 2,282 | Derek leaves. Stiles gets possessed. Derek comes back. What that all means...they'll figure it out.
"Falling Up" (E) by PalenDrome | 18,522 | Of all the things Stiles imagined could happen, he never thought he’d end up packless.
"The Nose Knows" 🔒 (E) by WhoopsOK | 5,454 | A spell misfires and Stiles winds up with werewolf powers and finds Derek’s scent… alarmingly appealing.
"Arrows Made of Desire" 🔒 (E) by loserchildhotpants | 6,302 | There's a MOTW, Scott's an idiot and a Bad Friend, Stiles has a magic bat (not a euphemism), and Derek submits to the mortifying ordeal of being known (true, but also a euphemism).
"Red, Red, Red" 🔒 (E) by loserchildhotpants | 9,460 | “Your tattoo.” “What about it?” “Just… it’s weird, I’ve been - uh. You ever, like, dream of something? Something you’ve never seen before, but then you see it out in the world?”
"One Mess at a Time" (E) by Tawryn | 2,807 | When Stiles was first accepted into his apprenticeship, Master Peter had told him he'd be placed into some hard situations. Stiles had taken that at face value. You know, figuratively. Good thing Peter’s cute nephew lives above the apothecary.
"Howlin' For You" (E) by Lenore | 33,050 | A college AU with strippers, crime bosses, and a mystery to solve.
"Never Been" (E) by Lenore | 4,202 | Stiles gets snared in a virgin trap. Derek to the rescue!
"Turn a Little Faster" (T) by skoosiepants | 3,207 | He shifts back and forth on his feet and tries to psych himself up. He can do this. He’s a badass werewolf, he can totally tell Stiles that they accidentally got werewolf married because—because Stiles was thinking about him, and happened to give him a token of his, uh, affection under the silvery light of the last full moon. Platonic affection, Derek thinks sourly, so he doesn’t get why his wolf feels all warm and fuzzy and bonded all of a sudden.
"We've Got Chemistry" (T) by dr_girlfriend | 17,892 | “So…” The man was at the door to a shed now. “The previous owners left everything, so I think there should be everything you need. But let me know if you need me to pick up anything, or if you prefer, you can buy it and I’ll reimburse you…” “Oh!” he said. “Because I’m the pool guy.” And that’s not what he meant to say at all. He meant to say, “You think I’m the pool guy.”
"until we wake" (E) by verity | 2,375 | "It shouldn't have affected Derek," Lydia says over the phone. "But maybe—because of your bond." "What bond," Derek says.
"Mix and Match" 🔒 (E) by Jerakeen | 6,141 | Stiles walks into the Beacon Hills alpha-omega mixer with a smile on his face and three condoms in his wallet.
"The Scent of Mate" (E) by Jerakeen | 1,543 | "You smell like mate."
"I'm tired and I'm wasted, irrational" (E) by LunaCanisLupus_22 | 8,171 | Derek reads the message twice just to be sure that he isn’t dreaming. 'Help,' it reads, 'accidntly kidnpd somr dudew.' He takes a moment to compose his reply. What the hell Laura?
"Fair Game" 🔒 (E) by blacktofade | 6,183 | It's all fun and games until someone has to pee. AKA: the one where Derek meets Stiles in a club and it's going great until Stiles disappears into a bathroom stall and leaves him to fret.
"Edges and Lines" 🔒 (E) by blacktofade | 3,630 | Derek likes Stiles in lingerie and makeup.
"Wild Living series" (E) by orbiting_saturn | 4,999 | Since the whole mess with Gerard, Stiles has been running on a drunk-dizzy burst of fear adrenaline. Like he’s courting death.
"Take Me to the River" (E) by orbiting_saturn | 3,215 | Stiles does that to him sometimes, bowls over everything important with the force of his personality, the mystery of his mind. It used to annoy and confuse Derek, but lately it just fascinates him.
"The Hazards (and Benefits) of Channel-Surfing on Friday Nights" (M) by herbeautifullie | 12,175 | "I totally have a boyfriend, dude. Shows how much you know." How was he supposed to know Scott would doubt him? It's not Stiles' fault that someone named Derek Hale really exists. It's also not his fault when his lie grows legs and runs so far he can't find it until it's too late – too late and standing right in front of him, gorgeous and annoyed and not at all the person Stiles made him up to be. Yeah, this could get bad.
"By and By" (E) by 1001cranes | 35,611 | Sheriff Stiles accidentally adopted a juvenile offender.
"To Blame" 🔒 (T) by blacktofade | 4,473 | Everything always seems to be Derek's fault, even when he's no longer around.
"Tangible Disasters" 🔒 (M) by saintsideways | 6,598 | Derek has spent years deliberately refusing to flinch from fire. He’s not about to break the habit.
"take my heart from me" 🔒 (NR) by Areiton | 23,188 | He didn't really mean to adopt Derek's pack of puppies. He didn't mean to make himself important to them. To Derek. He just wanted to keep them all safe. That's all Stiles ever wanted.
"another name for love" (E) by endversed | 36,910 | Derek is a single parent to a teenager. He's given up on love since losing his daughter's mother. Stiles is an FBI agent in town on the hunt for a feral omega. He might have something to say about Derek's stance on love.
"feels so good inside" (E) by endversed | 11,817 | Stiles receives a dick pic from an unknown number. He decides to grab the opportunity with both hands to do something about his pesky virginity.
"Not Exactly Comfortable" (T) by entanglednow | 1,227 | "Ok, so this could be worse." Which, on the whole, is probably not the most reassuring thing for Stiles to say right now. "Could be worse?" Scott hisses out, where he's scrunched uncomfortably on Stiles's bed. In a way Derek's body probably isn't designed for.
"pretty fragile things" 🔒 (M) by Areiton | 6,474 | Stiles Stilinski likes pretty things. Derek Hale just likes Stiles.
"hold my beer (hold me close)" 🔒 (NR) by Areiton | 3,252 | It was Scotty’s fault. One hundred fucking percent, Stiles thinks, stumbling under the weight of a two hundred pound very drunk alpha. Who, as luck would have it, is a cuddler. Fan-fucking-tastic.
"Textual Promise" 🔒 (E) by Areiton | 1,828 | Derek stares at the text for a long time before he goes for a run. Because this? From Stiles? This isn't something they do. He still says 'ok'.
"Large Vanilla Latte" 🔒 (G) by Areiton | 1,466 | The bell over the door clatters a cheerfully annoying welcome, and Stiles smiles as the man he’s going to marry strides up to the counter.
"Good Pup" 🔒 (NR) by Areiton | 1,719 | He isn’t surprised, when he walks into the loft and finds Derek sprawled on the couch, and Stiles tucked into his side, snoring softly, one hand clenched in Derek’s shirt to lodge him there while Derek reads over Stiles’ sleeping head. He looks happy, his eyes soft and body loose in a way that Peter hasn’t seen in years.
"Is This Unwise" 🔒 (T) by Innaz | 17,819 | Derek expects Stiles to react poorly, maybe even file a formal complaint and that’s gonna suck, but Derek won’t say shit cause he knows he deserves it, so he prepares an apology before Stiles has even turned around. What he doesn’t expect is Stiles to fucking drop.
"Please Have Mercy" 🔒 (E) by Innaz | 3,922 | "I-” Stiles licks his lips, eyes bright and wide with the shock. Balls in his court now. He could refuse, step away from the line they're toeing and laugh it off. But he doesn’t, just like Derek knew he wouldn’t. Because Stiles wants this. They both do, and that’s what makes it so fucking insane.
"The Shore of Dreams" 🔒 (T) by hannah_baker | 2,277 | Derek Hale finds himself helping Stiles Stilinski hide a body.
"Flannel and Brass" 🔒 (T) by hannah_baker | 3,554 | John Stilinski somehow finds himself in the middle of a casual investigation into his son's life. And isn't wholly pleased with what he finds.
"When Nothing Else Works" 🔒 (T) by hannah_baker | 5,915 | Sheriff Stilinski is slowly and begrudgingly accepting the fact that werewolves exist, regular bad things still do happen sometimes, and his son may or may not be dating Derek Hale behind his back.
"Let's Not Talk About It" 🔒 (E) by hannah_baker | 10,147 | “You can’t have a platonic romantic relationship,” Scott said when Stiles had tried to explain what had happened the previous night. “I’m not saying it’s platonic. Obviously making out isn’t platonic. But it’s not like, romantic. I’m not waxing poetic about his gorgeous hazel eyes or how ridiculous his biceps are-” “Really?” Scott asked, interrupting him. “Because it sounds like you are.”
"Kind of a Thing" 🔒 (T) by hannah_baker | 17,707 | “You’re ‘kind of a thing,’” his dad repeated, the quotations clear in his voice. “Well, I’m not sure what 'kind of a thing' means,” he said, getting up, disappearing to the kitchen briefly and returning with a beer, “but it’s 9:45, which means that 'kind of a thing' needs to leave in fifteen minutes.”
"You Are a Sap and I Love You" (E) by accol | 999 | “Here,” Derek said, shoving a large, fabric sack at Stiles like it had a live snake in it. Stiles pulled the drawstring open and looked inside. “Ha ha, very funny. Just because I broke the last one staking that vampire--” “Pull it out,” Derek said. Stiles let the fabric bag fall to the floor. His fingers wrapped around the grip solidly. “Is it safe?” Stiles took a slow swing. The bat felt like it was humming.
"Space Age Crystals" (E) by A Devil Like You | 1,235 | Stiles is just biding his time at a Christian College until his dad stops being mad at him and lets him come home. He didn't expect to catch the eye of Derek Hale, or to become the new subject of his devotion.
"Of Milk and Honey" (E) by A Devil Like You | 2,578 | The scent is everywhere. The gas station. The movie theatre. The grocery store. The top floor balcony of his house—just outside the French doors to Derek’s bedroom. Like warm honey and sweet cream still in its pail. It’s out there somewhere on the vast preserve and it makes his eyes flutter.
"bi awakening au" (E) by endversed | 34,332 | “Fuck that,” Stiles says, dangerously low. “I already did the closeted jock thing in high school. Like fucking hell I’d put myself through that again.” Derek’s breath catches in his chest. Stiles is – he’s incandescent, entirely lit up with rage. “I’m sorry,” Derek begins to say. “Just – don’t bother, all right? I’m not interested in being your first fuck over the rainbow. You wanna hook-up with a guy, see what all the fuss is about? Go to a gay bar and pick up the first twink you see. You won’t find it hard.” “I’m not –“ “Just leave me the fuck out of it.”
"all fucked up" (E) by endversed | 15,414 | Booty calling your ex-boyfriend might be a bad idea, but it's not like Stiles' heart can break any more than it has already, anyway.
"Shifted" (T) by LLAP115, Wolfspurr | 25,074 | Of all the stupid things he’s ever done, Stiles is pretty sure this one takes the record, but it’s like a reflex that he just can’t stop. As soon as he sees the witch turn to face Derek, hand raised in Derek’s direction, he just jumps.
"The Curve of Your Clavicle" (T) by WhoNatural | 6,264 | Derek's office rival might be the same person keeping him sane at night when the loneliness hits.
"Flowerwolf & Beacon Roots" (E) by alisvolatpropiis | 5,299 | Stiles turns away, towards the cooler of roses, muttering to himself under his breath, which of course Derek can hear perfectly well. “Great freakin’ advice, Lydia, ‘just bring up sex and tell him you’re cool with having a one night stand,’ okay, sure, that worked fucking beautifully.” “Okay.” The word is out of his mouth before Derek can even think about the consequences of saying it, something unusual for him. He wants Stiles however he can get him, it seems. “Okay?” Stiles eyes are wide when he spins back to look at him. “Yeah, okay. Let’s have sex.”
"Imaginary L'Oreal Boyfriend" (T) by WhoNatural | 2,753 | Stiles sets the bowl distractedly on the coffee table and mutes the TV. It doesn’t matter, his Imaginary L’Oreal Boyfriend’s commercial is only repeated once an hour, or so he’s noticed. "Who’s Derek?" he asks with genuine confusion. "The commercial guy," Isaac informs, gesturing at the screen like it’s obvious. "Doesn’t shave and looks like he just remembered something upsetting yet important all the time. Derek Hale?"
"The Last Song I'll Write About You" (NR) by WhoNatural | 1,890 | "So his face sells records, is what you’re saying," she says, and yeah, he’s been talking about the jerkwad for most of his lunch break, but that’s no reason for her to get that glint in her eye. “You must think it’s a pretty marketable face, if it can make someone’s debut album go triple-platinum in the span of two months.”
••••••
That is 100.

Hey gurl, can i request a tbz members as serial killers please? 😄
I already did the fanart for changmin and need some inspiration for the other members please? 🙏😄
Thx 🩷
The Boyz as Serial Killers TW AHEAD!
-> Changmin: https://astroyongie.tumblr.com/search/changmin
Sangyeon
Psychological Profile: diagnosed with Schizotypal Personality Disorder Snageyon has odd beliefs about life. He believes to be the one and only chosen of the gods to eradicate the evil people in earth, which makes him have certain traits like eccentric behavior and distorted perceptions could play a role in his criminal thinking.
Modes: Sangyeon uses poison to kill his victims slowly and covertly. It allows him to distance himself from the act while still having full control over his victim's death. Each time he finds a victim he judges as bad and corrupt he gets close to them before poisoning them. The press calls him the "Poison Rose" a poetic, sinister name. "Rose" because it implies beauty, because his victims bleed from their eyes and nose, often making rose patterns on their skin through the blood vessels
Jacob
Psychological Profile: He was diagnosed with Avoidant Personality Disorder so Jacob has an extreme feelings of inadequacy and a strong fear of rejection and criticism which has contributed to his isolated and deviant behaviors. Jacob is scared of people and he usually kills only the people who try to get close to him as defensive act of protecting himself.
Modes: he uses strangulation to kill his victims because it allows for control from them not leaving him. Jacob kept all his victims in his basement so they would never really leave him. He was named as the Velvet Strangler, the word "velvet" implying a deceptive, soft approach, masking the violence behind a façade of elegance.
Younghoon
Psychological Profile: diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder younghoon has intense emotional instability, fear of abandonment, and impulsive actions. he hasn't killed many and all of his victims were done through engaging in extreme behaviors when he was feeling emotionally rejected by his love partners. Younghoon wanted them so badly, that he ended up consuming some flesh as well.
Modes: Younghoon was meticulous but he was quick and he delivered his victims a quick death by a shot with a gun.He was named the "The Vanishing Executioner" because he was exceptionally hard to catch, leaving behind little to no trace, this name conjures an image of someone who delivers swift death and then disappears without a trace. Only one of his victim was found so far
Hyunjae
Psychological Profile: diagnosed with Dependent Personality Disorder Hyunjae shows an extreme need to be taken care of, leading to clingy behavior and fear of abandonment. Hyunjae swears he was manipulated into participating in crimes, including the murders he was accused of. No one has ever found the "dominant" partner he had and he is too loyal to open his mouth as well.
Modes: Hyunjae used to burn his victims alive, a method he used as a sadistic way of prolonging suffering to his victims who he believed being hurtful to his Dominant. The carbonized corpses were left in the forest as reminders of status, as a proof of love he had for his Dominant. the media started to call him "The Wolf in Silk" as an analogy of his sweet demeanor compared to the violent crimes he has doing for this "dominant".
Juyeon
Psychological Profile: diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder juyeon has an inflated sense of self-importance, a need for admiration, and a lack of empathy for others. he was believing that he was superior and untouchable. He would kill his victims who refused to see him for who he was. his victims were aleatory tho, from friends, lovers and strangers who refused to bow to him.
Modes: Juyeon would use asphyxiation and the police have retraced him using gas or carbon monoxide exposure for people he considered his enemies, choking for people who stopped loving him, and chemical asphyxiants to kill the victim who had refused to see him as his grandeur. "The Black Widowmaker" was the name given to him, from the amount of people he left widowed
Kevin
Psychological Profile: diagnosed with Schizoid Personality Disorder Kevin has an emotional detachment, a lack of desire for close relationships, and a preference for solitary activities. he shows an inability to form meaningful emotional connections, which can manifest in cold, detached violence. His victims were random chose, but he would always go on killing sprees, once in two weeks to satisfy his desire of "seeing life depart"
Modes: named as the "The Midnight Stalker" since he would hunt at late hours, invoking fear around the night. This name creates an image of someone who lurks in the darkness, hunting silently. Kevin would kidnap and torture his victims depending on his current mood, however one thing was clear, they all ended up dying through drowning. it was methodical way to kill, to simulate a sense of helplessness in his victims.
Chanhee
Psychological Profile: diagnosed with Histrionic Personality Disorder chanhee needs a constant need for attention, emotional excess, and dramatic behavior. He only killed to seek attention and thrill from his crimes, enjoying the public notoriety that comes with their actions. To him all of this has been but a game that he was happy to indulge until the police caught him
Modes: Chanhee killed all his victims with a heavy hammer. Blunt force trauma, causing by hitting the victim as he enjoyed the physical dominance and control it gave him over his victims. He was named as the "The Phantom Butcher" since his victims head was so severely mutilated that they were always barely recognized
Haknyeon
Psychological Profile: Diagnosed with Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder Haknhyeo suffers from extreme perfectionism, orderliness, and control. his plans were meticulously and he would control his murders, displaying traits like obsession with detail and rigidity in their behavior. Every mruder was exactly the same. victims all looked the same, the mobile was the same, and the bodies were always displayed in the same so no copycat would ever do the same as him. to Haknyeon, his killings were art and a necessity to ease the inner demons
Modes: he would stab his victims, in such a specific way that he was named the "The Smiling Slasher" as he would always leave his victims with a twisted, unsettling smile cut in their face. The stabs were alway the same, pre-mortem the heart, with the smile as post-mortem followed with fingers cut, throat, ears and sternum.
Sunwoo
Psychological Profile: diagnosed with Paranoid Personality Disorder Sunoco has a pervasive distrust and suspicion of others. he believed that others are plotting against him, which would fuel violent and aggressive behavior in response to imagined threats. To Sunwoo he was only defending himself.
Modes: He was called the "The Crimson Reaper" because Sunwoo would pick his victims aleatory since it all came from his imagination. he would suffocate them by using a plastic bag around their head. Sunwoo would then suspend his victims and bath in their blood as a ritual of "casting the evil spits away from him."
Eric
Psychological Profile: diagnosed with Sadistic Personality Disorder which involved Erik having a deriving pleasure from the suffering of others. He would torture and prolong his victims' pain for personal satisfaction since to him it was funny to do such things.
Modes: Eric was a medicine student in university when he started to kill mostly homeless people so no one would care for them. he would use both dissection on his victims for a while (keeping them alive as he studied their bodies alive) and dismemberment to dispose of the bodies once dead to fulfill his sadistic tendencies. "The Shadow Surgeon" for the killer who dissects and operates with precision

The Suicide of Kelly Baker
Prompt: An infamous serial killer retires from killing and writes award winning crime novels that tell the story of his own murders, and he leaves a subtle confession within his books.
*************
Kelly Baker was my favorite victim. She had the whole package. The red hair, the freckles, and of course, the fact that she came off as bit of a tortured poet. I knew her from my diner, whereby she took a seat to herself on the other side of the room with nothing more than a cup of coffee and a banana nut muffin. Something about her just struck me as out of place: the only red-headed lady to be found in the diner, and as far as I knew for miles abound.
I never saw any redheads in Montana.
She seemed special to me as a result. I had finished my omelette and was in no rush to leave as of yet, and thus, I picked up my cup of coffee and walked on over to her to talk to her. She gazed up at me with these big pool-like eyes as if she had been crying.
I had asked her if she was alright. But she was quite frank and quite terse in her responses to me. Of course, I was just some guy to her, some guy who wanted to pick her up, but that was not my intention for her, however.
I showed her genuine concern because she was sitting over there by herself and there seemed to be a dark cloud lingering over her head all the while. Her face fell when I had explained that to her, and I could tell that I had hit a nerve with it all.
It took me a few tries with the proverbial ice pick to break through her demeanor of permafrost, but I learned that she had had a series of failed relationships behind her, and she wanted nothing more than to have a husband and a family. She was just dying to have a baby.
Dying, you say?
I wasn’t going to be the one to give her a child, but I promised her that it would happen to her some day, as cliché as that was. She showed me a smile and she offered me a bite of her muffin. It was delicious. I had become her friend.
I made her death look like a suicide.
In fact, she was the first one of my string of murders, all of whom I wanted to look as though they were suicidal. I paid both of our bills and then I went back home with her. She confessed to me, albeit with her back to me, that she could feel some chemistry with me, and she was willing to take things to the next level with me. I, meanwhile, had other plans.
I had my gloves on as well as plastic bags over my shoes, and I tightly wrapped the rope around the center of her neck. I choked her until her breaths stopped. She never screamed, which I still find interesting.
To make it look like a suicide, I tied a noose and then slung the other end of the rope over one of the blades of the ceiling fan. Because she wasn’t that big, I managed to pick her up and tuck her head into the loop of the noose. Once suspended, I filled up a glass with water from the tap and poured it over the floor underneath her feet.
The whole trick of hanging yourself after standing up on a block of ice and the ice melts. It also helped that it was warm in the house as well. I made my great escape back out to my car and no one in the neighborhood bat an eye.
I would do it again five more times, and the authorities never figured it out. They figured out my patterns, sure, how I targeted single, troubled women with red hair—even though I also murdered a blonde and even a bald woman—and strangled them and made their deaths look like suicides. In fact, they bestowed me with a nickname: the Bozeman Strangler.
But Kelly was always one whom I will always hold near and dear to me, not because she was my first one, but because there was something almost cherubic about her, like she was innocent and I was helping her end her pain. That was all she really wanted, to bring an end to the pain.
Now, if only I can confess all of this without getting my ass handed to me by way of a Pulitzer Prize.
But I did win a Pulitzer Prize. I won an award for my book, The Suicide of Kylie Barker. I won two awards, actually, a Pulitzer Prize and also Best New Author. I won an award and earned oodles and oodles of money for a book where I had slipped in the full details of her ending as well as the ensuing investigation and my own thoughts during the process, and no one questioned it in the least. In fact, people loved it so much that I was asked to write sequels. I wrote five of them, in fact: my fifth one, I carried out another murder as I was writing it!
I gave the full details of their endings and no one noticed. If I’m being completely honest, I really don’t know if I should be proud of that fact or totally jaded by humanity’s inability to see subtlety before its very eyes.

grunge rewatches midsomer murders pt 2
full disclosure: I'm mostly knitting and kind of watching bc I'm still rotted only season 1 of Little Mosque on the Prairie is available on prime & if I want to watch the rest I have to sign up for Disney+
but anyway, here's pt 2 of That Corpse Is Breathing Pretty Deeply Fellas You Sure She's Dead?
2x01 Death's Shadow
opening with a flashback. always a good omen. Gerald/Liam started with a flashback and that episode was fucking wild man
Judy Parfitt...Judy Parfitt...
I know I could look her up but I want to be surprised by how I know her
no Joyce don't fall victim to the wedding industrial complex
OH
SISTER MONICA JOAN
OF COURSE IT'S SISTER MONICA JOAN
I FUCKING LOVE SISTER MONICA JOAN
ahh good old Badger's Drift
all the good murders happen in Badger's Drift
"the head bounced into the hall" yikes
I knew there was a beheading in Badger's Drift I just got the episodes mixed up
why are there so many abusive husbands in these villages
well that hymn definitely isn't shared with the UCC
and we're back in the One And Only Lawyer's Office Set
oh that's a good murder
so dramatic and intense
love it
that corpse definitely isn't breathing
no lungs left
side effect of being burned to a crisp
please tell me someone's going to get an arrow through the neck
Chekhov's quiver
fine I'll settle for an arrow in the back
a character called Fletcher getting killed by a bow & arrow. beautiful
*gets caught in bed with a 19yo man* "I am not a homosexual, it disgusts me" baby boy... let me introduce you to the concept of internalized homophobia
"we never meant to hurt him" YOU LYNCHED A CHILD
WHY WOULD YOU PUT A NOOSE AROUND A CHILD'S NECK AND MAKE HIM STAND ON A RICKETY CHAIR ON UNEVEN GROUND IF YOU NEVER MEANT TO HURT HIM
gotta love it when the corpses don't breathe. such a rarity on this show
2x02 Strangler's Wood
only rated 13+? that doesn't bode well
this is the episode that was on PBS the other day that made me want to rewatch the series
they censored the word "shit"
idk why you can't say "shit" after 9pm on American television
anyway...let the commentary commence
if I didn't know that was Phyllis Logan I wouldn't believe it
11yo boys in the woods before school is never good
grown ass man can't take care of himself
stop infantalizing your husbands challenge 1998
ahh there's some good old fashioned victim blaming
I do appreciate a good Obvious Red Herring
I think one of the writers has a choking fetish
that comment's gonna get me some bots isn't it
"help my son is gay" "get a life"
I know I only watched this the other day but I already forget if they address why Kate Merrill recognizes Troy's name
like obviously he's written to her agony column, at least that's how they're setting it up, but I don't remember if they actually address it
"she's being dying for about 6 years now. we're getting used to it"
hey it's a Jenny Lind bed! *proceeds to sing Heave Away on loop in my head*
Come get your duds in order cause we're bound to cross the water
Heave away me jollies heave away
Come get your duds in order cause we're bound to leave tomorrow
Heave away me jolly b'ys we're all bound away
it's just not the same without Connor Bedard
what is with the kids in these villages? is there something in the water that makes them all psychopaths?
the continuity in this show is *chef's kiss*
gotta reference every previous case always
...is this what straight men find attractive?
is that cigarette ad supposed to be sexy?
I love the Terrible American Accent that is specific to shows like this
got distracted by making a knitting pattern more complicated than it needs to be because intentionally stressing myself out over a lace wedding veil is more interesting than rewatching an episode I just saw like 2 days ago
I'll try to be more focused for the next ep but for now it's eurovision performances and then bed
2x03 Dead Man's Eleven
ah fuck it's cricket themed I'm gonna be completely out of my depth
full disclosure: it's nearly 40c (104f) and I don't have air conditioning so if my computer (or my brain) overheats, the commentary will be brief
like this
nearly 20mins in and I have no clue what's going on because my brain is soup
haunted museum? 350-year-old family feud? that's all I've got
something about smoked mackerel
good god the sound on my parents tv is fucking awful
the music and screaming are painfully loud but the dialogue is barely audible
I get that Sandra is traumatized and all but jesus everything she says is a piercing shriek
wait a minute
the episode description mentioned cricket
why is there no cricket yet?
I want to steal my cat's cooling mat
can I make it through the last 30 minutes before taking a nap?
why am I not intrigued by this episode? is it boring? is it the difficult-to-hear dialogue making the episode hard to follow even with captions? is it the heat making it impossible to focus? we may never know
hard to tell if the corpse is breathing when it's buried
good lord that was the longest 7 minutes of my life how is there still 23 minutes to go?
*makes impatient "wrap it up" gesture*
OH MARTYR WARREN. it's a place!
I thought they've been saying Marta since 1x01
I assumed they were talking about a person who lived in Midsomer
someone everyone knows, runs a cute little shop or something, pillar of the community, everyone's nan kind of person
one of those characters who's always referenced but never seen. like Villix'pran or Captain Boday on DS9
apparently this is actually 3x04 Beyond The Grave. the real 2x03 has a really great cast (Imelda Staunton, Annabelle Apsion, Robert Hardy, Toby Jones). can't tell you who any of these folks are though
3 minutes left...
of course they read daily mail
but at least they're critical of it
ok nap time. summer is the worst.
2x04 Blood Will Out
the heat broke and my parents have gone out so I get the good tv tonight. let's wrap up season 2
Martyr Warren. of course it's set in Martyr Warren
this ep is about Travellers, it's gonna be culturally insensitive isn't it?
who is this guy
OH
he's Gibbs from Pirates of the Carribean
Hector Bridges reminds me of Dr Bombay
ok so far this isn't as bad as I expected
there's still an hour and a half to prove me wrong though
like yeah there are townspeople who are being dicks but so far the police have just said "please don't litter and please leave when you said you would"
"I'm not kinky"
no shit Troy
you're so repressed vanilla is too spicy for you
and that's coming from me
Barnaby gets points for the casual use of the singular they
please tell me those are not morris dancers in blackface
I do appreciate that the rich bigots are the baddies here and not the travellers like you would expect from a nearly 30 year old show
also appreciate the widow not grieving her abusive husband
"the killer did us a favour"
Wife Swap: version 2.0
ah there we go
Troy being the asshole we know and hate
love me some gossipy bitches gossiping about murder over a game of scrabble
this is some spec ops shit isn't it
nope not spec ops just a corrupt commander
Troy may be as kinky as a slice of wonder bread, but the writers of this show are definitely into some shit
or has AO3 just completely ruined me and I see kink where there is none?
"I made the classic mistake of not believing you had been abused" a cop making a good and sincere apology? I'm shocked
murdering someone with a shotgun while dressed in all white is a bold move girl
well that's season 2 over and done with I guess. see you back here for season 3.

Monolith to Microservices – How Database Architecture Must Evolve
The journey from monolith to microservices is like switching from a one-size-fits-all outfit to a tailored wardrobe—each piece has a purpose, fits perfectly, and works well on its own or with others. But here's the catch: while many teams focus on refactoring application code, they often forget the backbone that supports it all - database architecture.
If you're planning a monolithic to microservices migration, your database architecture can't be an afterthought. Why? Because traditional monolithic architectures often tie everything to one central data store. When you break your app into microservices, you can't expect all those services to keep calling back to a single data source. That would kill performance and create tight coupling. That’s the exact problem microservices are meant to solve.
What does evolving database architecture really mean?
In a monolithic setup, one large relational database holds everything—users, orders, payments; you name it. It's straightforward, but it creates bottlenecks as your app scales. Enter microservices database architecture, where each service owns its data. Without this, maintaining independent services and scaling seamlessly becomes difficult.
Here is how Microservices Database Architecture looks like:
Microservices Data Management: Strategies for Smarter Database Architecture
Each microservice might use a different database depending on its needs—NoSQL, relational, time-series, or even a share database architecture to split data horizontally across systems.
Imagine each service with its own custom toolkit, tailored to handle its unique tasks. However, this transition isn't plug-and-play. You’ll need solid database migration strategies. A thoughtful data migration strategy ensures you're not just lifting and shifting data but transforming it to fit your new architecture.
Some strategies include:
· strangler pattern
· change data capture (CDC)
· dual writes during migration
You can choose wisely based on your service’s data consistency and availability requirements.
What is the one mistake teams often make? Overlooking data integrity and synchronization. As you move to microservices database architecture, ensuring consistency across distributed systems becomes tricky. That’s why event-driven models and eventual consistency often become part of your database architecture design toolkit.
Another evolving piece is your data warehouse architecture. In a monolith, it's simple to extract data for analytics. But with distributed data, you’ll need pipelines to gather, transform, and load data from multiple sources—often in real-time.
Wrapping Up
Going from monolith to microservices isn’t just a code-level transformation—it’s a paradigm shift in how we design, access, and manage data. So, updating your database architecture is not optional; it's foundational. From crafting a rock-solid data migration strategy to implementing a flexible microservices data management approach, the data layer must evolve in sync with the application.
So, the next time you’re planning that big monolithic to microservices migration, remember: the code is only half the story. Your database architecture will make or break your success.---
Pro Tip: Start small. Pick one service, define its database boundaries, and apply your database migration strategies thoughtfully. In the world of data, small, strategic steps work better than drastic shifts.
Contact us at Nitor Infotech to modernize your database architecture for a seamless move to microservices.

The story begins with Anna Koray, a heroine thrust into a tragic domestic violence situation where she ends up killing a man. This event triggers a flood of memories from her childhood, particularly moments spent in the woods with her father. Her father was the notorious Forest Strangler, a serial killer known for his elaborate crime scenes featuring women adorned with flowers, stones over their eyes, and flower crowns—a ritualistic offering to a forest deity he believed in. As Anna grapples with these memories, she finds herself on a quest to catch her father's copycat killer, delving into his twisted thought patterns to unravel the mystery.

WHAT DO YOU DO NEXT?
Spencer took a sabbatical from the BAU, finding himself holding lectures all over the country about serial killers. He shared his extensive knowledge and experience with eager audiences, shedding light on the psychology behind these criminals. His talks became highly sought after, drawing in crowds from various fields of study. Spencer never expected his lectures to be so sought after; he had many colleges asking him to hold special guest lectures. He found himself traveling even more than he had anticipated, juggling multiple invitations from prestigious institutions. Despite the hectic schedule, he was thrilled to see the impact his work was having on students and professionals alike.
Spencer found himself lecturing from Yale all the way to Caltech, embracing the opportunity to engage with some of the brightest minds in the country. Each institution welcomed him with open arms, eager to gain insights from his extensive field experience. As he traveled coast to coast, he felt a renewed sense of purpose and fulfillment in his career.
As a result, Spencer found himself preparing for a huge lecture at the University of Washington. The anticipation was palpable as the auditorium filled with students, professors, and professionals eager to hear his insights. As he stepped onto the stage, he felt a surge of excitement and responsibility, ready to share his knowledge with yet another enthusiastic audience. Spencer began his lecture by delving into the intricate patterns and behaviors that define serial killers, emphasizing the psychological triggers and environmental factors that often contribute to their actions. He discussed case studies from his career, illustrating how profiling and behavioral analysis can be crucial in identifying and capturing these criminals. His detailed explanations on the importance of understanding the human mind in the realm of criminal justice captivated his audience, leaving them with a deeper appreciation for the complexities of his work.
One notable case study he discussed was that of the infamous "Seattle Strangler," a serial killer who had eluded law enforcement for years. Spencer explained how the meticulous analysis of crime scenes and victim profiles eventually led to identifying patterns that pointed to the killer's identity. By highlighting the importance of behavioral clues and psychological profiling, he demonstrated how critical these tools were in solving the case and bringing the perpetrator to justice. Spencer detailed how the "Seattle Strangler" exhibited a consistent pattern of targeting victims with similar physical characteristics and backgrounds, often choosing those who were socially isolated. He noted the killer's tendency to leave specific, ritualistic markings at the crime scenes, which provided crucial insights into his psychological state and personal motivations. Additionally, Spencer highlighted the importance of understanding the killer's escalation in violence, which ultimately helped narrow down the suspect pool and led to his capture.
Spencer's lecture extended for nearly four hours, as he meticulously covered each aspect of criminal behavior analysis with precision and depth. The audience remained engaged throughout, absorbing the wealth of information and real-world applications he presented.
Finally, as he concluded his talk, he opened the floor to a Q&A session. He invited eager attendees to ask their burning questions and delve deeper into his field. One student raised their hand and asked, "How did you feel during the case of the Seattle Strangler?" Spencer paused for a moment, reflecting on the intense emotions and pressures that came with the investigation. He explained that while the case was incredibly challenging and often brought a sense of frustration, it also fueled his determination to bring the killer to justice and provided a profound sense of purpose in his work. Another student asked, "How did you use victimology to profile the Seattle Strangler?" Spencer then answered, "Victimology was crucial in this case. By thoroughly examining the victims' backgrounds, lifestyles, and the circumstances of their lives, we were able to identify commonalities that the killer exploited, which ultimately helped us predict his next moves and narrow down potential suspects." Another student then asked, "How do you find these serial killers' weaknesses?" Spencer replied, "Identifying a serial killer's weaknesses often involves understanding their psychological profile and behavioral patterns. By analyzing their habits, triggers, and vulnerabilities, we can devise strategies to outmaneuver them and bring them to justice."
A female student then asked, "How do you find so many serial killers? Do you ever get frightened that they might stalk you?" That's when Spencer thought back to Cat Adams, a particularly cunning and dangerous adversary who targeted him personally. He responded thoughtfully, "There are moments of fear, certainly, but it's the resolve to protect others and prevent further harm that keeps me focused. The key is to always stay vigilant and never underestimate the lengths these individuals will go to. Clearing his throat, as he never wanted to think of Cat Adams, he pointed to a student in the far back, "Yes, what is your question?" The girl stood up and asked, "What advice would you give to someone aspiring to enter the field of criminal profiling?" Spencer smiled and replied, "Stay curious, always keep learning, and remember that empathy and attention to detail are your greatest tools."
Spencer then looked at the time, "I have time for one more question before I have to wrap this all up," he said, watching as many people eagerly raised their hands. He pointed to a man in the front row, "Yes, what is your question for me?" Spencer said, waiting with a small smile.

SMOKERS Unleash Debut LP "The Rat That Gnawed the Rope" – Out Now!

Oakland, California's premier punk rockers have just released their debut LP, The Rat That Gnawed the Rope. The new album, available worldwide in digital and vinyl formats through Oakland-based Mouth Magazine Records, dropped on June 14th, 2024. After years of relentless touring along the West Coast, Oakland's SMOKERS have finally unveiled their blistering 15-song album. Their sound, influenced by punk icons such as The Stranglers, Minutemen, and early Replacements, is brought to life by the collective talents of Andy Asp (Nuisance, The Pattern), Cyrus Comiskey (Black Fork, Drunk Horse), Jim Nastic (Talk is Poison, Year Future), and Omen Starr (St. James Infirmary). Collaborating with lead engineer Phil Becker (Pins of Light, Big Business) at San Francisco's historic El Studio, the band swiftly recorded the tracks that define The Rat. Despite its location in a rather dubious neighborhood, the studio was perfect for their creative needs. "It's in a pretty dodgy area of San Francisco," recalls vocalist and guitarist Andy Asp. "I was excited to see a deli nearby, but it turned out to be a custom dog food butcher, so no sandwiches. We found a BevMo a couple blocks away, so that worked out pretty well." Despite the unusual setting, the band felt right at home in the nondescript industrial building, rumored to be the recording site of The Melvins' legendary 1989 album Ozma. A COVID-19 scare had previously forced the cancellation of an earlier session, but SMOKERS found El Studio to be the perfect alternative. Becker played a crucial role in bringing The Rat That Gnawed the Rope to completion. "He kept things moving, and I think we finished all the basic tracks in a single day," says bassist Cyrus Comiskey. A vintage Hammond organ, supposedly once owned by The Allman Brothers, added a unique touch to the opening track, "The Irish Tenor."
