it's nuts when people say that morrowind has a good story but the mechanics are too dated to enjoy. i think it betrays the lack of willingness to engage with a game's mechanics that pervades the general gaming sphere.

whether this came from or was the cause of the dumbing down of mechanical complexity in big budget games i can't really say, but it DOES suck that modern games are so. simple
