This is the last week of the semester and has been a pretty hard one.
Yesterday I went to buy some components for a project and finish studying for an exam today.
Today I did said exam and I think it went well, after that I worked a little more in my digital electronics robot, it's almost done but there's still some code to correct. Also I got my grade for the last exam in that class and I did pretty well ^-^
My plan was to finish the robot project today but there's still some stuff to correct and anyway the teacher gave us more time up to Friday so it's ok.
Then for the other project I was going to work on it during the afternoon but I got my laptop fried lol
So lesson for future self it's better to just upload the code to the Arduino board and then connect it to the wall instead of an USB port specially when using power circuits with more than 5V.
Of course this is a tragedy that will make me lose some precious time, but I already did all my exams and did a good part of my projects so my teammates will have to support me a bit more thought them while I get my PC repaired, hopefully it isn't so bad or super expensive but I'm trying to not have so good expectations and just accept destiny.

It’s a privilege to study, many women around the world are barred from this human right: to read, write and learn. Be grateful anytime your pen touches paper, or you are learning theorems developed by intelligent, hardworking men and women from ages ago.
It’s a pleasure and a privilege to learn. Not only is it a privilege to study, but you should be aiming and striving to take science, medicine, law, philosophy, art further than the marker we have reached. It’s a comforting thought to think, from your work generations of humanity down the line will benefit.
How many brilliant women were in the shadows of amazing feats of science and technology and life changing patents? Contribute while you can. If you pour into knowledge - it will pour back into you.

evening walk
Cut the dopamine supply. Work in short, controlled bursts (20-30 minutes max) — even when you feel like working longer. Leave tasks unfinished. This forces your brain to stay engaged in the background without burning out. Delay gratification. After each session, step away. Don’t check results or keep pushing. Low-dopamine environment. Limit phone use, social media, and even music that triggers a dopamine spike.

some advice i have for future computer science students
as soon as you learn data structures & complexity, run, don’t just walk, RUN to leetcode while the knowledge is still fresh in your mind. your entire career and whether you’ll get a well-paying job vs an average paying job depends on how good you are at leetcode.
build as many projects as you can, and i’m not talking tutorial projects that take a few hours, i’m talking big projects. working on a project for a month or two will get you really far.
if you don’t have an internship, do not waste your summers, learn new technologies, languages, concepts and build projects you can put in your cv.
try to participate in hackathons and coding competitions. it’s okay if you fail, but you’ll learn a lot.
learn how to read documentation. most tutorials don’t even cover a quarter of what a language, framework or software has to offer. the sooner you make reading documentation a habit, the better it is. and yes i know, documentation is long and hard to read. my advice is only read the sections that are relevant to you in the moment. something i also personally do is look at the code examples at the same time as i am reading the paragraphs, it really helps easily absorb the information.
try not to use chatgpt. and if you do, then at least use it for stuff you know you can do yourself and will be able to correct if the bot gets it wrong. using chatgpt is a very slippery slope and the more you use it the less you learn.
the math is important. math teaches you how to reason and how to develop better logical thinking. just because you don’t see yourself using the xyz theorem you’ve learnt anytime in the future doesn’t mean the math is useless.
be prepared to get comfortable with erros, issues, bugs and just problems in general. you’ll be coding 30% of the time and debugging 70% of the time (i’m exaggerating but sometimes it feels like this is the case lol), and that’s okay, it’s how we learn and the sooner you embrace it the better. if you’re someone who easily gets frustrated, then this is a heads up.
learn as you go. there is no such thing as waiting until you know everything before you start on a project. the only way and the best way to learn in this field is practice, so build, build, and build.
these are all the ones i could think of for now. feel free to comment your thoughts and questions <3

Today went a little bit better than it has been lately. I managed to lock in over the weekend and finish quite a bit of problem sets for discrete math. Final exam this week 🤌

Perhaps I will finally pick up calligraphy this year.
Not fully, not seriously, just enough to derive a style between my normal writing and something like Copperplate for use in special occasions. At risk of sounding narcissistic, I do quite enjoy my handwriting. All it took was a bit of time, some diligence, and a dash of self-reflection to have something which reflects me back to myself in a small and delightful way.

Thursday, February 13th
Survived my mass and heat transport midterm. Might even have passed. The horrors I went through in those 4 hours were insane.
BUT! I’m going to NY to visit my lovely sibling tomorrow and could not be more excited!!!!!

These days, my desk at home has been my favorite study spot. Campus gets crazy crowded during exam season, and considering it's freezing outside I have quicker access to a cup of tea 🍵

This week is the first exams week of the semester, literally all piled up for this week, I have two exams, a project (it counts as an exam too) , an exercise list and a lab practice to prepare.
The first exam is tomorrow and I feel ready for it, but the second one that's on Thursday is going to be extra hard, I'm already getting used to the idea of not getting a good grade on that one lol, it's not like I gave up, so today I did some exercises on S-matrix.

The women in your ancestral line dreamed of this opportunity and longingly looked at others being educated. They wished to touch books and pour into knowledge. While you mindlessly scroll empty content, lazy and unmotivated.

I haven't made a post in a while, but now I come bearing more positive news. Your girl here is all fixed up :)
Well, that's an exaggeration. But I have certainly found my rhythm back after struggling for nearly 10 months to relearn how to study. I have been trying to wake up earlier and going to bed sooner, actually eating instead of calling a can of monster dinner (although that is less because I am fixed up and more because I am on a tight budget). I think joining the gym really helped establish a routine for me.
I feel more clear-headed these days, like the fog is lifting after a long, long dawn. Today, I woke up at 08:15, made myself coffee, and packed my lunch, then headed for the library.
Done so far:
50/100 slides of IT and Data Science (IDS) Chapter 3 part 1
Half of Lecture 3 of Advanced Mathematics 2 (AM 2)
Goals for today: (Update 11/06/2026 23:17)
Finish all of Chapter 3 part 1 of IDS (completed)
Complete Lecture 3 of AM 2 (completed)
Read and understand at least 5 pages of Engineering Mechanics 2 (3/5 pages)
Note (11:17 pm): I'm very tired carrying over EM 2 to tomorrow.
I am still trying to figure out how to catch up with everything in a reasonable period of time. I am trying to test my limits and see how much I can do realistically in a day because I have overshot all of last semester and ended up pnly crashing and burning. However, I really believe I am making real progress, and if I can keep the momentum up, I'll get the grades I want.
Some life updates: I went to a pride parade for the first time in my life, and it was amazing.
Alright, that's all from me this post. I hope you have an amazing, productive week, too!!
