Okay so...over the past few months, I received several asks about whether I plan to write a fix-it for the TW movie. You know, the one I didn't see that doesn't exist. Well, I haven't changed my mind BUT the talented @yourenotdonefighting wrote one, and guys... If you love Stydia, you will love this fic!

It's SO GOOD!!! Beautifully written with such care, understanding, and adoration for these characters. I highly recommend you read it ASAP! It's already complete, and trust me, you will not be disappointed🧡💙

Ok. I need to address this.

Are there people who seriously think that Stydia was just fan service, out of nowhere in season 6? Seriously ? What series did you watch exactly? There are countless strong Stydia scenes with ambiguous and or romantic implications, or outright ROMANTIC background music in the series, long before Season 6! In 5X14 alone, Stiles asks Lydia to wake up while holding her hand with the song Where's My Love playing in the background. And yet people didn't see the romantic subtext in there? Really ? What do you need then?

Also, I've seen some haters claiming that there was nothing to be surprised about when Stydia broke up in the movie, because Dylan O'brien always hated Stydia, and said in an interview that they would have broken up at the after a few weeks...

So that's wrong.

Yes, Dylan said that, before going on to the fact that he was joking and that the two were meant to be together and happy. It's beautiful denial in some people anyway. To distort the words of an actor at this point to prove himself right.

Then it was Dylan who improvised the Stydia kiss on the cheek in 6X01. My ass he hates Stydia.

Also, quite a few of the cast members themselves were shipping Stydia together. To claim otherwise is bullshit.

And to anyone complaining that Stydia was too long and therefore no longer made sense...

It was fucking slowburn. A slowburn is supposed to be long to get a final realization! That's the point ! Canonically, in their universe, Stydia took 3 years to be together after being friends in high school. Sorry to tell you, but it's not an eternity or unrealistic. Not everyone gets in couple quickly.

Besides, I don't understand this obsession to say that Stydia is not valid because we've never seen them be a couple in a direct way...

You know, it's like complaining that fairy tales end right on the reunion of lovers finally reunited, or their marriage, being done, we have no insight into how their romantic relationship really works. But no one ever gets upset about it, or says it makes the relationship less valid. Besides, it's not a scheme found only in fairy tales, but including in a lot of classic novels with a central romance, or more recently in some romantic comedies.

And honestly? I don't care to see my ship's life as a couple! What matters is the buildup and the fact that they finally end up together in the end. Seeing them in couple mode is ultimately just a bonus, which I don't care about, because I can easily imagine it myself.

Oh, and if you're backing up the Stydia shit script of the movie as confirmation of your dumb ideas about this couple being forced, ridiculous, meant to break up forever, etc, well that just proves you're hopeless. This movie was absolute shit in every way, a goddamn thing that ruins the whole series, and not just Stydia. Even Allison's comeback is stupid. (and I say that as I ship Scott and Allison)

But in addition, knowing that the film still remains in the idea that Lydia is in love with Stiles and visibly sad to have abandoned him, and that Jeff Davis himself said in an interview that the two will most likely meet again... How is this supposed to be a victory for the anti?!

It mostly feels like a stupid breakup made to create unnecessary drama that would probably get a resolution later. Like the majority of couples getting together in a series that continues and has not actually ended its story.

Another of the reasons why I prefer the story to end once the couple are together rather than stretching out and seeing inevitable breakups / reconciliations made to keep the viewer hooked.

And as much as I'm a fan of Stydia, I absolutely refuse that this film be entitled to a sequel one day. It's shit, from A to Z, that deserves to be ignored and forgotten.

Also, those who act like Stydia aren't in a 6X20 couple are... pathetic at best? Everyone forgets this scene where Stydia takes her hand by instinct and where Lydia, remembering her first kiss with Stiles, tells Malia to kiss Scott to help calm him down? No, of course, let's forget this scene to justify our fantasy of: There was never anything ambiguous or romantic about Stydia, including in the last episode, proving that season 6A was a mistake!

And there are anti Stiles, acting like his character is toxic? People act like Stydia is toxic? Really ? It's so stupid it honestly makes me laugh.

I've been on tumblr for 2 years, but I only took a look at the Stydia/Teen wolf tag recently, and the crap I've seen there is really startling.

If it's okay to ask, I never liked romantic stydia at all girls & dudes can stay just friends but how did the season six finale end & what did they actually get? Because I refuse to watch past season 3.

Stiles returns at the very end to help the pack and that's pretty much it 🤷🏿‍♀️

No big reunion. No kiss scene. She was more excited to see Jackson tbh.

They get dunked on even further in the movie.

Okay so I’ve been reflecting on the movie and I made a list of all the things that make me happy. You’ve talked about most of them but I feel the need to acknowledge them all again and again:

1. During the movie it’s clear that Lydia treats the breakup like it’s still very emotionally fresh without any signs of her trying to be with anyone else or really get over it. I think that suggests that at the VERY least Stydia we’re together for like…8-10 years. I’m so here for this bc remember when Teen Wolf ended and people were saying they still weren’t technically together, even during 6B?? Or when people said they would probably break up in college and that they wouldn’t last, like NOPE. They stayed together for all that time which (bonus points) means that they had PLENTY of time to live out every domesticity fic we’ve read or imagined and more

2. The language of Lydia leaving Stiles and the duration of their relationship also hint that at the very least they were probably living together, if not engaged or married.

3. At this point I’m just restating the same things but for SEVERAL YEARS they were fully happy together, they never stopped loving each other or got tired of their relationship in that time! I think that gives them the longest running relationship among the teens in the teen wolf canon (that is, if you count the movie as canon)

4. The ONLY thing holding them back from spending the rest of their lives together is a premonition that caused Lydia to break up with him. Without that premonition, they’d be together forever without reservation. I know these are things we would assume as Stydia shippers but other people in the Teen wolf fandom have fought this claim for YEARS and assumed they would break up right after the show.

5. The movie basically set up the resolution to Lydia’s emotional arc as going back to Stiles. Even if we don’t see it for the sake of storytelling it’s reasonable to assume that happens (because if not, what the heck is gonna happen? After that long together they’re just gonna move on?!) Stydia could never. Even some of the reviews and podcasts I’ve listened to about the movie indicated that a reunion between them is extremely probable, and when Jeff Davis was asked if that was possible, he responded “absolutely!” (I really think that man wants to save stuff like that for a sequel and try to get Dylan to be in it which I simply do not see happening)

6. Lydia, the queen of trying to use sex and other men to avoid emotional vulnerability or to regain a sense of control, is not dating someone to try to get over Stiles. She’s not trying to start a relationship with someone to shallowly replace him. The growth🥰

7. In no world is Stiles Stilinski gonna chose safety over being with Lydia Martin. The second that he finds out her reason for leaving (and there’s no way he goes the rest of his life not knowing that is simply too tragic and as much as they put Stiles through they’ve always been set on giving him a happy ending) that man will do whatever it takes to convince Lydia that he chooses her or to figure it out together.

thank you for the ask babe! 🤍 - what's one fic of yours you think people didn't "get"? this is hard! um. i wrote a stydia fic in 2021 that was basically me working through feelings while deep in a teen wolf spiral/fic binge after rewatching the series three times in six months. it was a lot of character exploration! i needed to write it for myself. it's cool if people didn't get what i was trying to put down! 🎙️ - which one of your fics would you like someone to make a pod-fic of? oh without a doubt the stray lines that unwind you! i have such a soft spot in my heart for the fexi sleepover fic. it has one of my favorite lines i've ever written in it too! 💌 - share something with us about an up-and-coming WIP that has you excited! I have a couple of ideas floating around that I'd really like to dig into. now knowing what we do about when to expect season three, i feel a freedom in my pacing for putting up the third act of YVOR. that said, here are some ideas i have been fiddling around with - a soulmates au, a threesome fic and a day camp set summer romance. and of course the stardust au and while you were sleeping au endings. 💘 - is there any posted fic you want to rework/re-edit/re-write? lmaoooo yes. stages. without a doubt it would be stages. it's jon x sansa from 2015 before the ship became popular thanks to the reunion on screen in season six of got, and my writing was a fucking mess. it's so bad. it's been read so many times and the writing in it is embarrassing and god someday i might just rewrite the whole thing idk.

Liam, the poor baby....he's so scared and so sick of all of this and wishes he could be like Scott but he just...can't. He doesn't have it in him. And Scott, being the amazing Alpha that he is, even in all of his desperation to save people, even in all of his worry, takes that time to take a step back, and slow down, and be there for his Beta.

And he doesn't force him. He doesn't make him feel guilty. Instead, he acknowledges his fear, and his pain, and he TAKES HIM HOME, and makes sure he's SAFE, and COMFORTABLE, and then he handles it without him, because as much as he wants and needs all the help he can get in this mission to protect everyone on the deadpool, he would NEVER force Liam to do something he wasn't comfortable or ready for. And we looooove that about him. LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I LOVE THEIR RELATIONSHIP SO MUCH!!!

AND THEN THE SCIRA REUNION I CANNOT!!!

The way they just run to each other and immediately kiss each other and embrace.

The way Scott just holds her face so gently when he asks about her mom.

The way he so softly and gingerly and wholeheartedly asks if SHE'S okay, and you KNOW he doesn't just mean physically, but emotionally too.

The way that Kira says she is now, because she's with Scott, and they're together again, and they're all safe.

The way that, even though Scott's main reason for coming there was to check on the people Kira had saved, checking on Kira and her well-being 100% had to come first.

The way that they just keep each other so close, even as they looked on at all the other deadpool people.

And then there's Stalia, of COURSE.

I've said it before, but I will reiterate: Stydia is obviously my OTP, but Stiles and Malia? I cannot deny their chemistry, and I cannot deny how much I love their cute little moments.

And the forgiveness scene in the hospital AHHHHHH!!!

First of all, shout-out to Melissa for locking them in the room together lol.

But then that scene was just so sweet and I'm so glad they finally made up!!

I mean--

The way that they're both so awkward with each other, but also so clearly worried and so relieved that the other is okay.

The way that Stiles starts using Melissa's name as a fill-in for his own feelings and current struggles with Malia.

The way that Malia just rolls with it until they're finally close enough to truly open up to each other.

The way that Stiles just GETS HER and gets exactly what she's trying to say.

The way that Malia recognizes that, and remembers why she loves him so much in the first place.

The way that they both finally accept that they've made some mistakes, but that they both deserve a little forgiveness for the way they've been treating each other.

The way that they KISS, and Malia FINALLY forgives Stiles wholeheartedly.

The way that they both remember how much they love each other in just that one little moment.

And of course, the way that Melissa finally pushes the door open, because mission accomplished.

We love Stalia, and we freaking love Melissa, because mom of the year. <3 <3

SPEAKING OF LOVING MELISSA.

The AMAZING moments with the parental figures and each other's kids.

On a smaller scale, we obviously have Noah and Lydia, and Noah being so utterly concerned for Lydia's mental and physical well-being in doing everything he can to make sure that Meredith does get put away for everything she did, but also desperately trying to get her to go home and take care of herself, all while Lydia is still stubborn and sassy as ever, because she feels safe enough to be that way with Noah.

And THEN there's the Stiles and Melissa scene.

GODDDD how I LOOOOOVE Stiles and Melissa scenes. THEY'RE LITERALLY SO SWEET AND SOFT AND I LOVE THEM!!!

I just love how much they banter with each other, and how much Melissa takes his sass and throws it right back at him, like with the cassettes vs. tapes (I'm with Melissa, by the way--sorry Stiles XD), because she knows that's how he works.

But then on TOP of that, just like her son (like mother, like son), she recognizes when Stiles is very clearly avoiding his actual emotions and concerns, and she forces him to address them by bringing them to the forefront of the conversation--like his worry about Meredith, and his tensions with Malia--all while still being so comforting and so helpful and just so willing to make his life easier in any way that she can ("Can you do me one little favor?" "Anything.").

GOD I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!

THE RELATIONSHIPS IN THIS SHOW AND HOW WELL THEY DO THEM I SWEAR TO GOD!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Update: Oh, and SPEAKING OF PARENTAL FIGURES, can we talk about how much I love Argent? Like, first of all, I'm 99% sure that he just found the plant that did the weird stuff it's doing to Derek (also we love that he didn't even have to turn around to knock out the dude behind him—seriously the best), so that's already awesome. And now here he is, being willing to harbor all of these people on the deadpool, simply because of his love for Scott. Add to that the fact that, in the face of all of these targets, the one person Chris is still the most worried about IS Scott. AHHHH we love him so much. He seriously cares about this boy so much, even after everything, and I love him for that. <3 <3 <3

Lydia still loving Stiles lowkey does feel like a reunion can happen so not really a dead stydia. She left bc she loved him so much sort of thing (really bad writing he could have just been off in a mission). All that said the movie is ass and still wont consider it canon :) especially how scott out of everyone never mentions him. Whole thing is a mess.

There is a very slim chance that the movie Teen Wolf will be entitled to a sequel. So let's pray that this never happens! This movie must be forgotten from the fucking stratosphere!

In addition to Stydia, the plot of the Nogitsune did not make sense. You can't be both wolf and fox! Divine blow of my ass! Recucite Allison sends the whole evolution of the pack flying. Liam becoming a copy of Scott. Mason not even interacting with Liam. Derek's son being a copy of Stiles 2.0. Derek obsessed with Stiles' jeep, like WTF?! Derek dying! Malia and Peter, the oblivion. Parrish and Malia damn but WHY?! Their sex scene was ridiculous... I'm not even going to talk about Kira. The treatment of the actress is a disgrace and as much as I miss her character, honey you were right to piss off.

The thing is, the movie was supposed to be a reunion. If a lot of the main cast members are missing you don't make this fucking movie cause it loses its interest!

Just taking over the Nogitsune, mostly related to Stiles and Kira when the two aren't even one is stupid.

This film should never have a sequel, and should be forgotten, please!

If the movie gave us anything it’s wonderful Stydia reunion fantasies. I eat the angsty Stydia up, but I am kind of sad we never saw fun and happy Stydia in a relationship. Maybe a couple of crumbs, but nothing huge.

It is definitely sad, but I feel happy and content with the fanfic we have for them, tbh. When you think about it, it's lovely that we didn't have our ideas of the couple's relationship demolished by canon, too.

Also, sometimes I watch SethSummer scenes and just pretend it's Stydia, so once again, I feel fed.
