Shitty idea for an AC game's modern day segments:

You play as William Miles, and you're re-tracing the steps of Desmond's journey in order to study the various isu artefacts he came into contact with, but also to re-connect with his son.

As you do, you're confronted by the ghosts of the people Bill has fucked over the most:

Clay Kaczmarek: this one's easy, just say that Rebecca was able to [insert techno babble here] and retrieve a copy Clay's code but never meant to actually bring him back due to ethical concers (this was more of an attempt to retrieve just enough of him to give him a proper burial). Bill needs his memories, especially those concerning Desmond and Juno, so he brings him back. Somewhere in between all the verbal abuse he showers upon Bill there's also the information you need.

Lucy Stillman: either she wasn't as dead as we thought and crawled up to some sort of control panel to download her consciousness as a last ditch attempt to stay alive or the temple just does that automatically. Either way, ✨️isu bullshit✨️. She's surprisingly quiet and helpful at first but eventually starts to ask questions about the way Bill treated Clay, Daniel, Desmond... making this about anyone except for her when it is very clear that she's projecting and this is actually all about her.

Desmond Miles: the previous two encounters have given Bill an idea, though it might just be him going old and crazy...

He asks Rebecca and a bunch of other hackers to figure out what's going on with the AC3 temple and lo and behold his personality has indeed been stored in the temple. He recognizes that he should probably be angry with Bill for dragging him back into this mess but right now he's a bit too discombobulated to really feel anything.

Maybe he remembers his time as the reader or maybe this is an entirely new copy. Idk.

We end on some big reveal and the next game will have a new protagonist with Desmond as a digital companion.

my favorite part of season zero is the multiple occasions where yami yugi immolates someone alive. it's his favorite activity. and of course the yo-yo battle to the death.

the yo-yo battle in the manga is so truly unhinged. nothing will ever come remotely close. yugi almost gets hanged. jonouchi tries to bludgeon a few dudes to death with the millennium puzzle but settles on stringing them up by their FINGERS instead and then he gets broken glass stuck in his eyes and nearly gets stabbed. yami uses a yo-yo to cut a hole in the roof looney tunes style causing several men to fall to their doom. those guys happen to be the replacements for the gang members that yami electrocuted to death a little while back. i have no clue how it received even a heavily censored anime adaptation i could not make this shit up even if i tried

Brazil's GDP could shrink 16% with end of 6-day workweek, says industry federation

Industry report estimates R$2.9tn drop in revenue for productive sectors

A proposed reduction in working hours and the potential elimination of Brazil’s six-day workweek—outlined in a bill currently under discussion in Congress—could have a significant negative impact on the Brazilian economy, according to a study by the Federation of Industries of the State of Minas Gerais (FIEMG). Without an increase in productivity, the change could lead to a 16% drop in GDP and a loss of up to R$2.9 trillion in revenues across productive sectors. The report also warns of rising costs for businesses, declining competitiveness, a surge in informal employment, and up to 18 million job losses—ironically harming the workers the policy intends to benefit.

According to the study, in a scenario where contracted weekly hours fall to 40 and productivity remains flat, payroll income could shrink by as much as R$480 billion. Even if productivity were to rise 1%, job losses could still reach 16 million, reducing labor income by R$428 billion. These findings were presented last week at the event “6-day Workweek and Its Impacts on Labor Relations.”

“There’s an unavoidable economic cost to cutting hours unless we raise productivity,” said Daniel Duque of Ibre-FGV. The study notes that the average workweek in Brazil is already shorter than the global average, though still longer than in Europe and North America.

“When comparing Brazil with developed countries, there’s a negative correlation between productivity and average work hours—because higher productivity allows people to work less without compromising output,” Mr. Duque added.

Odysseus LOST the reasoning he had to get back to Penelope and Telemachus.

"I keep on trying to embrace you both, why won't you let me" (Keep Your Friends Close)

I always interpreted this line as 1-) him literally fighting off falling asleep so he is trying to embrace them in his dreams but also subconsciously stopping himself from falling asleep 2-) him trying to get back to them but also questioning if he's a good enough person to deserve them in his life with everything he has done

So the next line

"So much has changed, but I'm the same. Yes I'm the same" (Keep Your Friends Close)

Is him trying to find a REASON as to why he deserves to go back to them. He is trying to convince himself that yes he has done some unforgivable stuff but deep down it's the same Odysseus who loves Penelope and wants to be a father to Telemachus.

But then comes Monster.

"And I'll become the Monster, like none they've ever known" (Monster)

This is most likely saying Odysseus will become a much worse monster compared to his enemies but it could also be interpreted as him becoming something Penelope and Telemachus could have never guessed because that is never the way they knew him.

"I must become the monster, and then we'll make it home" (Monster)

This is almost like Odysseus saying "It doesn't matter if I deserve to return to them or how I will do it. I WILL return to them because THIS is the only way I can get to them and I'm crossing that line right now"

But in doing so he also LOST the only reasoning he had for deserving to get back to them.

So much has changed. And he WAS the same.

But he's no longer himself.
