My niece has gotten really into warrior cats and is mid process of building a makeshift fursuit for herself for our upcoming anime cons this summer. I swore to her up and down I'd take her, but she'd have to handle her outfits herself and let me tell you she is DETERMINED to get this suit together by herself. It genuinely makes me so happy to see her finding herself and putting her effort into creating her art and self-expression .

when assigning fob albums to seasons/weather patterns, almost everyone (myself included) assigns ab/ap to summer - oppressive heat, oppressive expectations, oppressive relationships. but i love that the album was released in january, because at its heart it is a dead of winter album. it’s remembering the summer you had, once. it’s about remembering summer’s heat that has long since given way to frost but the memory of it remains and you long for its warmth even as you know that, when summer eventually comes, it will just disappoint you.

I wonder what the kids and teachers in luz's school think of her now. Shes stopped "terrorizing" other kids, mainly because she seems to have stopped engaging with most of her classmates period. She no longer brings live animals or taxidermy to school. She even participates in english class occasionally, even if she doesnt "get" the point of the book. Her rants only clock as suicidal if you know about her time in the boiling isles which the people at her school do not.

I wonder if luz's teachers and schoolmates think that luz mellowed out over the summer. If the principal/counselor that suggested she go to the camp patted himself on the back because shes "improved."
