wren has a surprisingly good relationship with her family this time around HDJSKSJJK there are some ups and downs, but they're a close-knit family and both marisol and alejandro are supportive, protective, and loving parents.

as soon as wren arrived, wrapped in soft pink blankets like a surprise gift, alejandro's heart swelled with joy and wonder. it was as if a new world of possibilities had opened up before his very eyes. he cradled her, marveling at the tiny fingers that mirrored his own. the sight of her little face looking up at his with adoration ignited a fierce determination to be a hero of legend in her eyes.

yet, the responsibilities as a public figure and a protector of his village were relentless, pulling him away to distant lands and leaving echoes of his absence at home. alejandro juggled interviews, autographs, and monster hunts, while marisol tended to their daughter’s scraped knees and told bedtime stories about the junimos. his nights were filled with whispered apologies, and longing looks into wren’s crib as she slept without hearing so much as a “goodnight” from him.

one of alejandro’s biggest turning points happened when he returned home at nightfall after a group mission had taken the day away from him. standing at the doorstep with boots caked in sand from the crimson badlands, marisol greeted him with a kiss before she quietly informed him that wren had uttered her first word that day as she gazed at the sunflowers in the morning light.

He also swoons over the cinematography of In The Mood for Love because whenever a camera is used well he will literally talk over the film to the poor sap watching with him and talk about why that camera angle was so good, why that lighting works and how they might have achieved it, the balance and the perspective and foreground and background and hey why are you turning the volume up so high?

Qiao Ling loves the wuxia dramas. When she was little she didn’t want to be a princess, she wanted to be a shaolin warrior. That’s why she’s so into martial arts. She watched them at an unrecommended young age and as a result would bug bb CXS to play pretend with her that they were sworn sibling warriors. Her favorite is Demi Gods and Semi Devils and naturally CXS is forced to play the damsel in distress or the bad guy, at any given point (a source of many childhood arguments). Nowadays, she still indulges in the show, and when no one else is around she and CXS will sometimes teasingly call each other by their wuxia alter ego names.

Lu Guang grew up with his grandparents and spent most of his childhood hanging out with his Nainai watching her favorite shows and eating sunflower seeds together on the sofa. As a result he is unironically very protective over the 1980s TV adaptation of Dream of the Red Chamber. Yes, it’s cheesy. Yes, the dramatic camera zooms are laughable. (I noticed while I was doing the finishing touches into this that one headcanon sounds very familiar and realised I was probably subconsciously inspired with the oneshot "Inflicted Desire" by my dear friend @/jexnrey, who deactivated a while ago and said she's never going to come back as Tumblr stressed her too much, so let this be a kind of tribute for her, she constantly told me she especially loves my Kaz stuff so if you ever see this Ani, I miss you but I wish nothing but good for you ❤️)

KAZ REACTING TO YOU GETTING HURT:

– If it's just a scratch or even a small wound and it isn't caused by anyone else, he isn't too bothered. He might look at it for a moment and then decide it's not anything too bad, minor injuries are an (almost) every day happening when you're a Dreg.

– Of course, if someone did it to you, he's pissed about it and sternly tells you to be more careful because he can't lose you.

– Or he doesn't say the last bit, but you can see it in his eyes as you're already in a relationship at that point.

– But if you're brought back to the Slat with a large wound, sputtering out blood or/and looking like you're about to pass out from pain, he doesn't take it as calmly, obviously.

– It's more like he freaks out and it shows in with how much he stresses for you.

– And if Kaz Brekker if overly stressed, you won't strike a friendly chat with him unless you want to risk receiving a broken hand.

– He's a walking thunderstorm and spares nobody from it.

– If you were any other Dreg, he would just ignore you and let you be tended by whoever takes up the task (as he knows his gang knows what to do in such situations), but with you, he's distracting Nina all the time by pacing back and forth, demanding her to heal you faster.

"I'm trying, but you aren't making it easy, your heartbeat is too loud, I can barely hear Y/N's heart over it." -Nina

– He huffs at that, sitting on an armchair in the corner of the room and staring at your face. If he wouldn't see the blood, he'd think you're just sleeping.

– He tried to concentrate on your peaceful face to get his heartbeat down, knowing he can't appear weak in front of anyone.

– As soon as Nina manages to stabilize you, he goes to the office and starts the work to find out who did it.

– Inej heard a Black Tips member bragging about killing off one of the most skilled Dregs, saying you were incredibly stupid when you didn't hear him.

– Immediately when she turns his identity to Kaz, he orders that guy to be brought to him.

– Kaz makes sure all of Ketterdam hears his cries of mercy and, towards the end, pleads to kill him already.

– Kaz doesn't, of course - everyone has to know that nobody can touch what's his.
