Super Queer
Tumblr media
So this sh*t about Jon Kent is stupid. This whole “controversy” is so f*cking stupid and i didn’t want to comment about it but then i saw that it made the news. Like, actual network news. Motherf*ckers are doing interviews and editorials about it. Bro, the world is on fire and you assholes are crying about A Superman being in lust with another dude? For real? I heard a rumor a few weeks back that they were going to make the kid gay, that he would have romantic involvement with Damian Wayne, because they are being “shipped” hard among the fandom. I thought that sh*t was a weird considering the age difference but whatever, right? DC has an Omniverse now. Everything is canon. Everything is fair game. Jon Being gay is as relevant as Helena Wayne being Batman and we all know how much i love Helena Wayne. Who is gay. Helena Wayne is lesbian, like her cousin Kate Kane. Also, Tim Drake is bi now, too. And Renee Montoya is lesbian. Sometimes with Kate Kane. Lots of queer in the Bat-family and no one cares. You'd think more people would considering Batman's status as the DC's Golden Goose but no, the Bat-family is unassailable. F*ck around with Supes though, not even Clark but his definitely Gen Z son, Jon, and it’s a problem. We are in the year of our lord, 2021, and the pearl-clutching Conservatives must protect the children from the gay agenda that has infected comic books. Even though comic books have been super queer for decades.
Tumblr media
Marvel has been doing this sh*t for years. Northstar, Iceman still i think, America Chavez, Hulkling and Wiccan just got a whole sh*tty event to hype their wedding together, Black Widow, Daken, Fantomex, Kitty Pryde, Phyla-Vell, f*cking Mystique is about to extinct the entire Mutant race because they refuse to revive her gay wife, Destiny; So much queer, man. Hell, if we’re being honest, DC is just as f*cking queer. Aside from probably a third of the Bat-family being on the Alphabet train, Fire and Ice code super lesbian, Obsidian is gay, John Constantine will f*ck anything, Scandal Savage partakes in the poon, Jessie Quick apparently, Tim Drake again, Black Manta jr.; All some varying degree of queer. Bro, f*cking Harley Quinn! There's a whole season of her show where she comes to terms with her love for Poison Ivy, a thread that has been a running thing since the f*cking Nineties! Harley and Ivy released in 1993, bud. That's how long Harleen and Pamela have had a romantic entanglement. Queer characters in comics hasn't been big deal since the f*cking Eighties, man. Why is Jon being Bi such a polarizing thing? Who gives a sh*t? Other than the fact that these are fictional characters with a corporate mandate to reflect the reality of the world going forward, Clark is still straight, man! Clark still exists, man! He’s literally in the issue where Jon introduces his boyfriend to Lois. Bro is standing right here, next to his queer son, supporting his family. No one is taking YOUR Superman. He still exists and he still pounds mad vag. Hell, technically so does Jon. He’s bisexual and just happens to be playing with that joystick at the moment. Comics are written by committee. Who’s to say that, in a few issues, a writer comes along and changes that. Maybe there’s a breakup and he starts to rub up on Yara Flor’s big, fat, dumptruck ass? They had chemistry in her Future State book a little bit. Maybe that will be explored later. Or maybe Yara is gay. Who knows? Who cares? All that really matter is that Yara Flor got a big, fat, dumptruck, ass.
Tumblr media
I keep going back to Tim Drake because he came out as bi a few weeks ago. I wrote a whole thing about that sh*t, why the discourse around it was dumb, and it’s more poignant now for Jon. Drake has somewhere close to forty years worth of canon where him being interested in other dudes is a real thing. It’s never outright said, we had to wait for that because people are idiots, but Tim has been coded queer forever. I don’t know if it’s intentional but ever since Young Justice, we all thought dude had the hots for Connor Kent, my Superboy. Their relationship always felt a little more than platonic, even if it might have been one-sided for Tim, and we all just went with it because it made sense. When Tim came out as bi, sh*t wasn’t a big deal for those of us that knew the character because we had already assumed. Drake was more than established by that point and is an actual major player in DC. You’d think there would be more outrage about it, right? Nope. Didn't see one piece on Fox News. Didn't see one segment on my Youtube news outlets. Barely a peep aside from the usual culture war outrage factories. Jon Kent been a character for, what? F*cking six years? Dude doesn’t even have a definitive arc, let alone a stable characterization, and Fox News is coming in full force, homophobic pitchforks and Nazi torches in hand! But why, though? Jon is a blank slate, a character still in the formative years of its existence. Only time will tell if this sexuality sticks and, if it does, good for him. If it doesn’t, so what? This relationship with the Nakamura kid is already canon. Whether you assholes like it or not, Jon Kent is bisexual and that is going to be the truth for the rest of this character’s existence.
Tumblr media
More than that, the multiverse exists! Everything is a thing and is canon but, again, and i keep reiterating this because it’s the only thing that really matters, this ain't even YOUR Superman. Clark still exists! His son is the queer one. Jon's Superman is my nephew's Superman and his generation is all about inclusion. Ultimately, what even is the real concern? No mainstream, money-making, instantly recognizable across the world, top-tier Cape, is ever going to be proper queer. No self respecting conglomerate is going to f*ck up their money like that, which means Clark Kent, Peter Parker, and Bruce Wayne will never partake in the man-butt. Never. Everyone else is fair game but those three? Not in a million years. To be perfectly honest, Jon being bi might do the Superman franchise some good. Harley Quinn and Wolverine are pressing the big three for recognition and guess who's on the chopping block? Definitely not the walking billion dollars, Spider-Man or DC cure-all, Batman. Both Wolverine and Harley Quinn have also been written as bisexual. Hell, there’s a version of Wolverine who is full-blown gay and in a hairy ass relationship with Hercules, who is also super gay! That’s been a thing for years. The shifting zeitgeist wants to see their shifting demo represented and DC is doing everything in their power to play both sides of this dumb argument. Jon's coming out isn’t even in a mainline Superman title. Dude’s not in Man of Steel, Action Comics, or Superman like that. He got his own book so if you don't like Superman: Son of Kal-El, then read Superman and the Authority. That one has YOUR Superman in it saving the universe from some sh*t I guess? Or not. Midnighter and Apollo are in there. They are SUPER gay for each other so, i dunno, maybe just shut the f*ck up about this whole stupid scenario?

Netflix’s Film Fam is slated to make an announcement tomorrow.  I’ll take a wild guess, but looking at the actors in the vid, we will see trailers or teasers for
THE HARDER THEY FALL starring Idris Elba, Regina King, Jonathan Majors and others.
Tumblr media
RED NOTICE with Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot.
Tumblr media
Zack Snyder’s ARMY OF THE DEAD with John Bautista, Omari Hardwick, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tig Notaro and Ella Purnell.
Tumblr media
THE KISSING BOOTH 3 starring Joey King; TO ALL THE BOYS I LOVED BEFORE 3 : ALWAYS AND FOREVER, LARA JEAN with Lana Condor and Noah Centineo. Since EXTRACTION 2 has only been announced, maybe Hemsworth is featured to promote how well the viewership was for the action film.
If that’s the case, I demand inclusion of THE OLD GUARD considering it did as well and it won Best Superhero Film at last night’s Critics Choice Super Awards.
Yes, it’s a real award. Yes, it means as much as a MTV Movie Awards, which is to say it means nothing.
Tumblr media
But they did honor Amazon’s THE BOYS, Aya Cash and Antony Starr (2 awards: Best Villain and Best Actor in a Series), so, the voting body has great taste.
Tumblr media
Although Amy Adams can be currently seen in the much maligned HILLBILLY ELEGY on Netflix, she is likely included because Netflix will run WOMAN IN THE WINDOW, the last film from the shingle that was Fox 2000.
THUNDER FORCE with Melissa McCarthy and Olivia Spencer.
Tumblr media
and YES DAY with Jennifer Garner and Edgar Ramirez.
Tumblr media
Did Edgar discuss with Jennifer about how his bestie Ana de Armas is dating her ex-husband?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- In non-Netflix movie news: Sony is moving MORBIUS from March 19th to October 8th.
With the Covid-19 vaccine roll-out being slow going, at least in the U.S., there are concerns that theaters will not be able to return to business any time soon. Once again there is talk that BLACK WIDOW will get a Disney+ release with premium access (a’la MULAN) and a theatrical release.
The first major release that is due to roll out is Sony’s CINDERELLA starring Camila Cabello, Idina Menzel and Billy Porter. But with no poster, no teaser or full trailer, this release looks doubtful.
Tumblr media
- What I miss about not getting the physical version of the trades is that I’m missing out on the full-page For Your Consideration ads.  Cheaper for the studios, yes, but these banner and sidebar ads just don’t cut it.
Like these for Bleeker Street’s SUPERNOVA starring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Hollywood Foreign Press is trying to clean up its image as a bunch of sycophantic star f*ckers posing as journalists, so they’re putting their feet down and are trying to quell category fraud.   They have forced Bleeker Street to take Tucci out of Supporting and run him alongside Firth in Lead.
Tucci, drinking it up, with his wife Felicity and his in-laws Emily Blunt and John Kasinski.
Tumblr media
The opposite, happened for the cast of Regina King’s ONE NIGHT IN MIAMI.  Kingsley Ben-Adir and Eli Goree wanted to campaign as leads with Leslie Odom Jr. and Aldis Hodge in Supporting. But the HPFA denied the request and will have them all run in Supporting.

Hey! There was something glitchy going on with our newsletter this weekend... if you haven’t received it, here it is!
Hello, all--
After chewing on it for a few days and deciding I like the way it tastes, we’re going to go ahead and have a SALE on Labor Day! Discounts all over the darn place! To find out how low we’re going, you’ll just have to come in and see. I think you’ll be pretty into it. We’ll only be open truncated hours, from 10-3… plenty of time to set you up with some amazing reads.
LAST CALL! Tell me if you want them now, subscribers. That way I order enough! My orders lock on these soon-to-be-shipping titles Monday:
BATMAN: THE MERCILESS (DC)  A METAL tie-in! Featuring the evil, other-universe Batman/Wonder Woman hybrid!
INFINITE LOOP: NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH (IDW) Sequel to the initial hit mini! Great-looking art.
GENERATIONS: CAPTAIN AMERICA (Marvel) Sam and Steve, time travelin’ pals.
GENERATIONS: SPIDER-MAN (Marvel) Miles and Peter, time travelin’ pals.
FU JITSU (Aftershock) This looks pretty fun. Fu Jitsu is an unaging genius adventurer, who counts Einstein and the Wright Brothers among his friends,  who exiles himself to Antarctica to get over a bad break-up. That’s just bonkers enough to be amazing.
CAPTAIN KRONOS (Titan) European-styled, good ol’ fashioned vampire hunting!

Smokey brand Movie Reviews: Super Green
The Green Knight s finally out and i can see it without having to wait a month and a half! I thank A24 for this rather quick turnaround because this thing has been on my radar fr what seems like forever! I’ve written about this before but A24 is my favorite studio releasing content. Neon is a close second and Netflix is making a real charge, but A24 releases classics. Some of my all-time favorite films are A24 products. Ex Machina, Hereditary, Under the Skin, The VVitch, Uncut Gems, Zola, Midsommar, Lady Bird, Eighth Grade, The Lighthouse, High Life, The Monster, Enemy, Climax, Room, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, The Disaster Artist, and Under the Silver Lake have all impressed in one for or another, all of them A24 offerings. This studio is f*cking amazing and i cannot sing it’s praises enough. They’ve been around for less than a decade, A24 was founded in August of 2012, and they’re brought this level of quality consistently. The Green Knight has all of the workings to slide right into my all-time list, just like Ex Machina and Hereditary did before it. Let’s see if i really love it as much as i think i will.
The Exceptional
The first thing that hits you is how f*cking gorgeous this film is. Seriously, i was immediately captivated by that opening scene with Gawain rushing for Mass. It definitely opens up as the film progresses and you are treated to one of the most visually striking films of the year. This movie could give Denis Villeneuve, Ari Aster, or Robert Eggers a run for their money. Seriously, you can frame several shots in a museum and no one would know the difference between that and the Van Gophs on display.
I r0aely mention this but it’s absolutely necessary that i do in this particular review because it was just that memorable. The sound design made this film. I’m not talking about music choice or score, but the actual sound effects for specific scenes. That sh*t was some of the tightest I've ever hear on a film and it really added to the overall experience. Just the way the Green Knight creaked and popped as he moved was more than enough to get this mention but there is so much  ore than just that. I hate that i had to see this at home because, f*ck, this thing would have sounded like god in a proper theater.
I mentioned that you can frame these shots in a museum before and a lot of that shine belongs to the cinematography. The shots chosen for this film are breathtaking. I imagine a lot of that has to do with location but even the scenes filmed in dank castles and murky bogs popped with that same, meticulous, shot composition and it really gave those scenes life. The were ties when my jaw dropped at the majesty of a scene. The one with the giants immediately comes to mind. Like, f*ck, was that beautiful to witness.
In that same breath, you have to know when to pull back. Editing is just as important to a film as anything else and The Green Knight is cut with a precision I've rarely seen. This thing has no fat whatsoever. It presents to you exactly what you need and little else. I love that. I love that this film has a story to tell and it tells it with extreme prejudice. These cuts were made with intent. That’s rare nowadays.
I also have to give a nod to the use of color and lighting. Again, it’s not something i ever really focus on but goddamn is it necessary for this review. Light plays a very important role in how this story was told. Certain scenes absolutely need it and others are perfectly accentuated by it. It takes a deft hand to juggle such a nuanced aspect of film and The Green Knight has done that the best this year. So far.
This film has a very real, very potent, atmosphere. It’s not tension, not like Uncut Gems of Good Times, but there is this unrelenting sense of dread that runs through this entire film. It’s measured and restrained but it’s always there. I appreciate that. For a film to illicit such emotion out of me is testament to the mastery of it’s visionary.
All of the praise I've given to the technical aspects of this film would be for naught if i didn’t recognize the director, David Lowery. This dude is fast climbing the list of my favorite directors. I actually listed  bunch above but, after seeing what he’s gone with this film, dude is really making a case for himself. He did the Pete’s Dragon remake which i hear as pretty good, and A Ghost Story but i haven’t seen either. Not really my cup of tea. But if they’re as good as The Green Knight, i might have to revisit that thought because, holy sh*t, this dude can direct the f*ck out of a film.
The writing is on point. I legit hesitated to put this on here because it is the weakest aspect of  everything else in this film but that is misleading. The writing is exceptional. There is no way this film could be as good as it is, if the script was dog sh*t. The material given to these performers had to the top tier in order for them to give the performances they did and and they definitely f*cking did that!
This whole cast really f*cking delivered. Sarita Choudhury as Mother and Sean Harris as the King were easily the best of the supporting cast but everyone else brought that same energy. Joel Edgerton, Kate Dickie, and  Barry Keoghan, all deliver powerful performances. Hell, this is the best I've ever seen Erin Kellyman act and i have to give a lot of credit to the overall quality of this cast delivered. That said, there are three individuals who put everyone else to shame and i say that knowing exactly how much praise i just heaped upon them all.
Alicia Vikander comes in and delivers on two roles, Essel and the Lady. This isn’t surprising at all because she always delivers. I’m never disappointed by her performances. Admittedly, i haven’t seen many but that’s because she is very particular about the characters she signs on to portray. That said, it’s weird the two performances she’s done that immediately jump out to me, are both with A24 films. Her Eva in Ex Machina, and that film in general, is what made me even take notice of both her and A24 as a studio. Here we are, seven years later, and she’s still blowing my mind. F*cking exceptional.
Ralph Ineson is almost unrecognizable in the Green Knight make-up but the second he opens his mouth, you immediately recognize that gravitas. There is a weight to this character and you f*cking feel it with every move Ineson makes. Dude isn’t in it much but the scenes he does appear in are absolutely stolen by this big, green, maestro of his craft.
More than anyone, this is Dev Patel’s film. This dude is a great actor but it’s rare someone gets a part where they can really bite into the content but that is not the case with this role. No, sir, this sh*t was tailor made for Patel and he definitely digs right the f*ck in. His Sir Gawain is just as good as his Jamal Malik from Slumdog, if not better. Seriously, this film would be nothing without Patel. As outstanding as every other aspect that i gushed about in this brilliant goddamn film, the very best is Dev Patel’s performance. Seriously, that sh*t, alone, is worth the watch.
The Verdict
The Green Knight is f*cking exceptional and exceeded all of my expectations. This year long wait was more than worth. It's the best film of the year so far, leap-frogging into my top twenty all-time and I've seen thousands of films. This thing is a masterpiece on all levels. Narrative, plot, lighting, performances, sound design, composition, editing, score; It's the closest thing to a technically perfect film I've seen in quite some time. If Dev Patel doesn't get an Oscar nod for this, there is no justice in the world because he f*cking carries this movie. Patel is easily the strongest force driving this incredibly compelling watch, but Alicia Vikander, Erin Kellyman, Sarita Choudhury, Ralph Ineson, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, and Barry Keoghan all match that energy with f*cking gusto. I was absolutely mesmerized by the way these absolute masters in their craft, embodied and gave their respective characters life, particularly Vikander. She never disappoints.
The only issue I see that would hinder someone actually getting into this film is the fact that it's a little long in the tooth. You never really feel it, as long as you buy into the fact it's a character study and not a high concept fantasy film filled with dragons and sh*t. If you think Michael Bay and Zack Snyder are the pinnacle of cinematic excellence, pass on this. You won't make past the first tn minutes. Also, make better life choices. No, this is about Gawain and it never deviates from that core drive. Weird sh*t happens, sure, but it's nothing as fantastical as Smaug or a Balrog. Even so, this f*cking movie kept me glued to the edge of my seat. I loved every second of it and cannot sing it's praises enough. My only regret is that I didn't get to see it in a proper theater. This f*cker would have been a real experience to see on a proper cinema screen, especially that shot with the giants. The Green Knight is outstanding and deserves all of the praise it's gotten and so much more.

CHOSE JOY [we need more love 💜 we need more joy] . I've been kinda laying low from social media for the past few week- head totally off my game. . I'm a total empath- I'm super sensitive to negativity around me and have purposely surrounded myself with people and choices that support positive growth. I have designed my life to work for what uplifts me. But with all the turmoil in the world right now, it has been hard for me to focus and be driven. Hard to not feel sadness and powerless in face of so much anger, hurt, upset... I could go on forever. . I have been questioning: what's the point of being a fitness coach when people are fighting to not get chemically bombed by their own people?!??? How could I be so f#cken irresponsible to bring not just one, but two innocent souls into such a f#cker up world?!? 🙈🙈🙈 . My meditations are filled with prayer for humanity. Prayers for a greater good between us all... . WHY AM I TELLING YOU THIS? . No, this isn't a fitness or health coaching post. Sorry- just a share to give you a why. . PLAY BIG. ✅ LOVE BIG. 💜 LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR. 🚹🚺 LIVE FULL OUT. ❕❕BE FEARLESS. ☠️👽👾 What I know is this- this isn't a f#cken dress rehearsal- we only get one chance at this round of life: only one. And it could be taken at any moment. And as much as I am often paralyzed by fear of so many things, I believe that if YOU, if I know better, can do better, have the tools to push past fear and PLAY BIG- it is our privilege and duty to play full out: BALLS TO WALL. . I AM CREATING JOY... Wherever I go and playing full out. Busting down boundaries and blasting the boxes I'm put in... ❇️What are you creating? How are you being joyful? ❇️ . . . . . #ballstowall #playbig #gohard #fitness #fitnesscoach #noexcuses #privilege #fuckit #onelofe #onechance #playfullout #justdoit #spreadlove #spreadjoy #love #loveyourneighbor #beselfless #give #payitforward #joy (at Toronto, Ontario)

I'm back from Los Angeles and San Diego!
Over the week, I had the opportunity to go to California with my dad. God, the city was beautiful, the food was awesome... and so much chocolate and SWEETS!
I just got home before 2 AM on Saturday morning, and I felt really tired. This was my very first time being here in LA, and I'm happy that I had so much fun here on my vacation.
Sometime before my 20th birthday, which is August 26th, was that time I visited Los Angeles and explored San Diego. I think I explored very little, compared to SO MUCH I've seen these past few days.
Los Angeles City and Burbank were my absolute favorite parts of Los Angeles, with all the different people, food smells, the upbeat energy, and animation studios, the places that America loves! It's HUGE!
I ate my first ever Bic Mac bought from McDonald’s in LA, and Chicken McNuggets too! Both were SO delicious!
In Burbank, I went to Frederator Studios! If you watched Adventure Time, Bravest Warriors, Super Fuckers, and/or Bee and Puppycat, you'll understand what an amazing experience this is! If you ever go there, try to get some postcards (they also have books in here too, just in case if you want to read them, of course).
My dad especially introduced me to the most popular places in LA, such as Beverly Hills and Hollywood. It was AWESOME!
What I did NOT like about the city was the freaking “no service“ thing. You get no access to anything else until your phone either gives you either all four signal bars or the least bit of signal bars (which is never). I was upset I would end up getting to have no service at all, but I kept my cool. I just sort of swore at myself before getting my service back.
I could say that some areas in California have no service, but let's be honest:
AREAS WITH NO SERVICE ARE EVERYWHERE. Even here in Virginia.
It was great being with my dad, and I already miss him. But I'll see him again soon when he comes back on the 25th of August, which is before my 20th birthday, and on the 26th of August, which is my 20th birthday, dad and I will take a trip to New York City, especially Manhattan.
Also, my flights were great on account of listening to lots and lots of music by my favorite musicians, like Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, Skrillex, Zedd, and Porter Robinson! Thank you, American Airlines and United Airlines!

F*ck, dude, i almost missed the Warspite unique retrofit materiel for a second time! I’m glad i logged in today. I’ve waited a whole ass year for this thing. Warspite is mad hardbody and, considering i have no idea how to speed up that experience gain for the Priority Ships, that sh*t is taking forever for me to get one of those dumb Super Rare, OP ass, beautiful little war machines. Seriously, I've been grinding Roon EXP for months. Literally just crossed the halfway mark on the two million, literally the absolute last criteria before i can construct my yandere queen. I was actually able to fully retrofit San Diego, so i technically have a Super Rare, but Warspite was always my target. She was destroying my armada in the PvP sessions since forever and i as rife with envy about it. I was able to catch up and claim enough tokens to bring me current with the requirements in this rerun event so I'm sitting pretty. Especially considering this f*cker ends on the 26th and you need eight of them to claim the item. One more and i get my sword deal and i can evolve my pinch hitter properly.
Tumblr media
Also of note, i finally pulled my darling Admiral Graf Spee. I’ve been throwing Wisdom Cubes at the gacha for months, ever since she was added to the pool permanently. It’s wild because i represent Iron Blood hard, but there are next to no ships. Apparently, there was a flood of them for an event i missed by a month, and none of them were made permanent. Makes clocking Roon and any other Priority Ship on that roster, a f*cking pain to grind. That sh*t is bogus because whenever it decides to rerun, I'll have to drop mad coin to trying to capture as many ships as I can, in the small window I am allotted. Still, with the addition of Graf Spee, I'm a step closer to my desired armada so that’s cool. I also copped Washington on the same pull. Less than two percent on both, and I got them to drop despite those scathing odds. Sometimes the gacha is kind. I have just SO many Eagle Union ships and that kind of tickles my fancy. Again, Iron Blood main, and i have an entire army enemy ships at my disposal.

Bro, the more I read up about QAnon, the more it sounds like straight up rabid 4Chan trolling. F*cking blood sacrifice for the marlocks in children? That's literally a South Park episode. Your whole conspiracy theory is a South Park satire, man. Like, who hears this and takes it seriously? I don’t trust the majority of politicians either but to even begin insinuating that there is a interconnected cabal, of super elite world leaders who get together to murder and eat children, in order to absorb a special energy or some sh*t that allows them to live forever, is obviously a f*cking troll, bro. Even more telling is the fact that 45 has been positioned as the one who would save t.he world from these Reptilian controlled, child cannibalizing, species traitors. Donald Trump is a f*cking pedophile, man! If anyone is eating children, he is! That motherf*cker ain’t saving anyone, Deep State meddling or not.
I cannot believe people are this stupid.
