hi
#i'm alive. simply being chewed upon by multiple things#work is more stressful than i'd like it to be. for instance i'm hoping that i submitted my time off notification for tomorrow correctly#because otherwise it might read as a no call no show and i would . like to continue having a job#now to be fair. i do have it on the system that i requested it at the beginning of the month and i emailed my supervisor about it last week#so even if i didn't submit it correctly i'm likely in the clear#but nonetheless. i also got a firm talking-to the other day and now i am on ✨thin ice✨ for dicking around too much#because they track ur idle time at my work (computer) and mine was Quite High so my supervisor was like man what the hell is this#but even though she was kind of baffled at me spending so much time dicking around#she couldn't even really be all that mad in the end because i'm still doing good numbers and have made no (zero) mistakes#so she was just like. it's kind of impressive that your numbers look this good when you literally have 50% idle time#so she goes imagine what you could do if you weren't wasting so much time#and yeah i can whip out some Really Good Numbrers when i put the effort in.#so the problem is not my numbers it's just that i'm not spending long enough doing my tasks for the day#but i don't want to drag out those tasks intentionally so i've just been upping my own standards/goals#as much as i hate giving any more of my brain power than is necessary to giant corporations#it's still easy to feel smug after you get Talked To and then immediately turn around and show off#like yeah i coulda been doing this good the whole time. literally pulling up by 20 points. i just didn't want to.#trying to keep everyone's expectations low but accidentally toed the line of um. not working enough to keep my job#...anyway. i wish there was a feature in emails where you could just hit an acknowledge button. like, the conversation is basically over and i dont want to send an email that just says 'no worries!' or something, but i feel bad leaving you on a 'thanks so much!' why can i not just hit a button that means i have received and acknowledged your email, though no response is necessary.
i think i just want to be able to send pings like murderbot or tap someone's feed

I'm so happy that Blackarachnia exists and I can use my beautiful giant evil spider lady scientist to vent my science frustrations out through. full offense but if my department heads wanted our self-evals to contain stats and metrics, despite that not being a requirement in any of the previous self-evals i have done in the course of my nearly three years of employment here, i feel that they perhaps should have told us that before the literal day those evals are due.

Literally will I ever come back from work without some ridiculous hand-based injury. Crushed my fingies trying to break up a bag of ice (…somehow?) and threw some truly intruiging shapes freaking out about it.
#it’ll be fine but the nail is more blue than I’m used to#guess it’s better than last week where 5 mins into my lunch break we had an inexplicable fire alarm and I spent the next hour alternating#between telling people they couldn’t come into the building everyone was mysteriously standing outside of with an alarm blaring#sitting by said alarm system turning it off when it went off once a minute#and daydreamed about the sandwiched I’d left behind in the sad little break room cave under the stairs#love my lifffffeeee love my job that everyone gets burnt out from and quits#all for that extra £0.50 an hour babyy 😎#today I found out the other supervisor hid all our plastic cups in the chemicals cupboard bc apparently we don’t use them?#babe. it’s June. it’s iced coffee time.#we have so much space for cups. babe we had two lids left#babe why would put them in the locked room we go in once a monthhhhhhhhh#rambling into the void

got a ride today that was so awkward i deserve a medal for not jumping out of the car
#so on mondays i teach out of town right. and my supervisor lives in the same town as me#and she always offers to drive me home but since im usually done way before she leaves i just ask someone from my family to pick me up#but today everyone was busy so i asked her if#if i could get a ride and she said yeah of course!!#well it turns out in the 4 hours i was there she got in a screaming match with our principal#bc her son got accused of hacking the school computer system#and quit on the spot. and told me halfway home#i was just sitting in the car like 🧍 damn#yslana talks

Head hurty
#i had to stay at work an extra 40 minutes#which did give me the opportunity to test my theory#that uber prices are lower in the middle of the hour than at the top of the hour#they do seem to be#but yeah my relief was late#i gotta figure out how to politely ask my supervisor to make sure im paid for the extra 40 minutes tho#because they for some reason havent been going off of actual clock in and out times for payroll?#i think theres been some error w/ the clock in/out system and its not feeding back into payroll#thats also why i didnt get paid for that 1 day last paycheck#which i contacted them about and they did say id get it in my next paycheck#but ye. just gotta. politely tell my supervisor that i did stick around for 40 minutes after my shift ended#and it did cost me a little bit of money because i had to uber all the way home#(i was gonna take the bus part of the way and then uber home from there which would have been cheaper)#so i do expect to be paid for those 40 minutes#extending grace towards the company because i think their previous payroll issues were an honest mistake#but keeping a close eye on them until i know they are not going to make this sort of mistake a habit
