The Benefits of a Demitarian Diet: Reducing Carbon Footprint and Promoting Health🌍🥦 A demitarian diet has many benefits, including reducing your carbon footprint and promoting better health. Reducing meat consumption lowers greenhouse gas emissions and deforestation. Eating more plant-based foods can lower the risk of heart disease, cancer, and obesity. Choosing locally-sourced and organic foods supports sustainable agriculture. Reducing food waste by planning meals and using leftovers helps conserve resources. Supporting ethical and humane farming practices promotes animal welfare. 🌿🍎 By adopting a demitarian diet, you can make a positive impact on the environment and your health.3. What Foods to Include in a Demitarian Diet: Plant-Based Proteins and Sustainable Animal ProductsPlant-based proteins and sustainable animal products are essential for a successful demitarian diet. Legumes such as lentils, chickpeas, and black beans are excellent sources of protein. Nuts and seeds like almonds, chia, and hemp are also great protein sources. Quinoa, tofu, and tempeh are other plant-based protein options. When it comes to animal products, choose those that are sustainable and ethically sourced. Grass-fed beef, pasture-raised chicken, and wild-caught fish are good choices. Eggs from free-range chickens and dairy from grass-fed cows are also options. Consider reducing meat consumption and increasing plant-based protein intake for a more sustainable diet. Don't forget about incorporating a variety of fruits and vegetables into your meals. Leafy greens like spinach and kale are packed with nutrients. Colorful veggies like bell peppers, carrots, and sweet potatoes add flavor and nutrition. Fruits like berries, apples, and oranges provide natural sweetness and fiber. Remember, a demitarian diet is about balance and making conscious choices for both your health and the planet.4. How to Transition to a Demitarian Diet: Tips and Tricks for a Successful ChangeTransitioning to a demitarian diet can be challenging, but it's worth it for your health and the environment. Here are some tips to make the change successful: Start slowly by incorporating more plant-based meals into your diet Experiment with new recipes and flavors Gradually reduce your meat intake over time Find plant-based alternatives for your favorite meat dishes Don't be too hard on yourself if you slip up Remember, a demitarian diet isn't an all-or-nothing approach. A Demitarian diet can also benefit the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preserving natural resources. 🌍Reducing meat consumption can lower carbon footprint. 🌳Plant-based diets require less land and water usage. 🐄Reducing meat consumption can decrease deforestation and water pollution. A Demitarian diet can provide all essential nutrients if well-planned. Protein can be obtained from plant sources like beans, lentils, and tofu. Iron can be found in leafy greens, nuts, and fortified cereals. 🍲A balanced Demitarian meal can include whole grains, legumes, and vegetables. 🥗Adding healthy fats like avocado or olive oil can increase nutrient absorption. 🍊Vitamin C-rich foods like citrus fruits can enhance iron absorption. 7. Demitarian Diet and Ethics: The Importance of Choosing Ethical and Sustainable Food SourcesAs a demitarian, choosing ethical and sustainable food sources is crucial for reducing animal suffering and environmental impact. Look for certifications like Animal Welfare Approved and Certified Humane to ensure animals are treated well. Choose plant-based options or opt for meat from small, local farms that prioritize animal welfare and environmental sustainability. Consider the carbon footprint of your food choices and choose foods with lower emissions. Support companies that prioritize sustainability and ethical practices, like those that use renewable energy and reduce waste. Remember that every food choice has an impact, and making informed decisions can make a difference. 🌱🌍 In conclusion, the Demitarian Diet is a sustainable and healthy choice that benefits both the environment and our health. By reducing our meat intake, we can decrease our carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future. The meat industry blocked the IPCC’s attempt to recommend a plant-based diet It’s no secret that climate change discourse is shrouded in obfuscation, disinformation, greenwashing and lies, both outright and of omission. But a recent leak of a draft of the IPCC report released on March 20 has been particularly enlightening when it comes to just how much how delegations negotiate, watered down,…Read more... https://qz.com/ipcc-report-on-climate-change-meat-industry-1850261179

🔸What is the Plant Based Treaty? The Plant Based Treaty is urging individuals, groups, businesses and cities to endorse this call to action and put pressure on national governments to negotiate an international Plant Based Treaty as a companion to the UNFCCC Paris Agreement.
The treaty would put food systems at the heart of combating the climate crisis, aiming to halt the widespread degradation of critical ecosystems caused by animal agriculture, to promote a shift to more healthy, sustainable plant-based diets and to actively reverse damage done to planetary functions, ecosystem services and biodiversity.

A friendly reminder that when it comes to food, less is not always best! Unless you’re trying to lose mass then yes, you do not need to be in a calorie deficit (burning more than you eat • There’s a misconception when it comes to being healthy that you need to eat less • I’m eating more than ever right now but still sticking to my maintenance calories. How? I swapped my mid afternoon protein bar for a couple of boiled eggs and babybels, I swapped pre-packed sandwiches for homemade lunch boxes filled with chicken, feta and bulgar wheat and I swapped eating out 2-3 times a week to maybe just once. The result? I feel more energetic, I feel fuller for longer and I’m able to nail those evening workouts more than ever! So next time you think you need to eat less, think about how you could eat better instead ✌🏼 #personaltrainerlife #glowgrowcreate #myselflovestyle #readysweatglow #gramandgo #fitnessbabes #fitwomen #fitblog #workoutideas #fitnessfun #fitnesslove #fitnessaddicts #fitgram #fitnesstrainer #fitnessforlife #fitnessinfluencer #gyminspiration #fitnessfreaks #fitnesscoach #fitnesslover #fitnesstraining #onlinepersonaltrainer #certifiedpersonaltrainer #sustainabledieting #healtheating #eatbetternotless #sustainableweightloss #healthyhabits #healthyeatinghabits #healthyfoodtips (at West Yorkshire) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSqmCLot1sm/?utm_medium=tumblr

In the newly-released Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report, over 200 scientists warned that given the countries’ inadequate scale and momentum of climate actions, global warming will likely exceed 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels during this century. Also, limiting the temperature rise to below two degrees Celsius will be a challenge. To ensure a “liveable and sustainable future for all,” global greenhouse gas emissions have to reduce by Nearly 50% within this decade through “rapid and far-reaching” shifts across all sectors and systems. This includes a transition to sustainable healthy diets featuring plant-based foods, such as legumes, coarse grains, vegetables, fruits, seeds, and nuts, which will also provide a range of significant co-benefits, such as enhanced public health and biodiversity conservation. The IPCC is a Shining World Leadership for Lives-Saving-Hero Award laureate. Our sincere gratitude, all IPCC scientists involved. In Celestial delight, may all governments urgently implement a universal vegan food system to secure the survival of all beings on Earth.
