Introduction to the Immediate Working Mode of the SK509 Four-Way Switch Control Module
The SK509 is a high-power industrial-grade wireless four-way switch control module launched by our company, capable of remote pairing. It provides four signal input and four control output interfaces, with a maximum output power of 5W and a transmission distance of up to 8000 meters in open areas. It features simple interfaces and reliable operation, with a sensitivity of up to -121 dBm, 16 selectable channels, automatic antenna matching, and bidirectional switch control, making it suitable for remote switch control applications.
Users can configure and modify the internal parameters of the module wirelessly using a PC interface. The DIP switches on the module can also be used to change the working frequency (16 selectable groups), working mode, and other settings, offering flexible and convenient usage. This article mainly explains the immediate working mode of the SK509 switch control module.
Before explaining the working modes, it is essential to understand the DIP switch definitions of the SK509 switch control module.
The functions of the DIP switch settings are described as follows:
DIP8—communication mode selection
ON – real-time mode ( In this mode, output sync to the input immediately once the input state changed)
OFF - timing mode ( output sync to in the input at set time interval )
DIP7 - master/slave selection
ON - the master
OFF - the slave
DIP6 – time interval selection of timing mode
ON – non pairing mode ( valid when DIP 5 is On )
OFF – pairing mode ( pair the module in this mode , valid when DIP 5 is On )
DIP5 - mode selection
ON - normal working mode
OFF - setting mode ( connect module to PC by SK108-S, set the parameters)
DIP4 ~ 1 - working frequency channel selection, 16 channels in total (default channel interval is 0.5M), frequency can be reset by PC.
Relationship between DIP switches and working frequency channel:
Note:
1.After the user modifies the DIP switch settings, the module needs to be powered off and on again for the changes to take effect.
2.Each time the module is powered on, it will check the status of the DIP switches. If the module detects that the status of DIP7 and DIP8 differs from the previous power-on state, the previously paired channel will be canceled, and the user will need to re-pair the channels.
Real-time working mode
In real time mode, both the master and slaver will send a inquiry signal at set time interval (default time is 3minutes) , the other side , master or slaver will reply the synchronized message. If this communication failed for continuous 3times, the alarm will light on to indicate, the related output will resume to open state;
In real-time mode, if modules never paired before,it is in non paired mode.
Each module has four independent input and four independent output. In real-time mode, the change of any input of the four channels will trigger the transmission, in other side the corresponding relay of the module will be synchronized after got the signal, then it returns a acknowledged signal. If no acknowledged signal come to the triggered modules, the alarm LED will light on. All the output relays will be resumed open if no acknowledge signal received for continuous 3 times inquiry.
Input and output status under normal working mode:
The logic relationship of the module as below:
For example, communication between modules A and B,
the 4 output of module A is corresponding to the 4 input of module B,
the 4 output of module B is corresponding to the 4 input of module A, shown as below:
In real time mode,SK509 can work in pairing mode or non pairing mode. SK509 will work at pairing mode if it has been paired with any other SK509. Paired SK509 can only work with other paired SK509. It can’t communicate between paired SK509 and non paired SK509.
For paired SK509, it is 2 way communication, the master can control the slave. Slave can control the master. But slave can’t control the slave and master can’t control the other master.
In pairing mode, the status change of input (master or slave ) will synchronized to the output (paired slave or paired master ).
If SK509 has not been paired with other SK509, or been unpaired, it works in non pairing mode. In non pairing mode, the change of input channel will synchronized to the same output channel in other side.
Application
It is important to note that in this working mode, the modules will first synchronize input and output signals upon initial power-up. Therefore, it is not recommended to power on both the transmitter and receiver simultaneously.

Harley Quinn X Male Reader
So after Binge Watching Barbie, rewatching Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), don’t forget that part, and The Suicide Squad, my appreciation For Morgot Robbie has increased more than it already has. Adore her. So, here’s part one of ?
(Any Tags I forgot please let me know.)
The Stench of rotting carpet, old wood and the tinge of blood was in the air. But this was all a part of the plan. Inside that old decrepit apartment you had your pistol Aimed at a man standing before you, Batman. Yes, The, Batman. A series of choices lead to this moment, but it wasn’t always like this. You were his Robin, his Boy wonder. Now you’re the shadow hiding within Gotham. Your foot was placed on the chest of another man, who’s cold and chilling laugher echoes though the room, Joker. It was on this same day, that you were Abducted; tortured, and subsequently Killed by the Very man. A Trip in the Lazuras pit changed you for the worst. But to your surprise after your revival, Joker was still alive, and Batman hadn’t sunk revenge for your murder, and all you could ask was…
“Why?” You as under your Helmet.. “Why him?” You said, Batman was stoic, silent.
“Who are you..?” He grumbles, his voice modulated to avoid detection, “You don’t know? I’m hurt.” You say with much sarcasm, you grip your helmet and tear it off, showing your face to Batman, even with the small J scar under your eye, it’s obvious who you were. Out of all the people he thought, he never expected his old Sidekick..
To be under the Red Hood.
Jokers eyes lock with the scar and he laughs much harder.
“Wow, now THAT, is funny!” He has his grilled toothy grin, and you placed your foot higher right on his throat. The wheezing laughter continues slowly.
“You don’t get to talk.” You growl at him, and then turnt your attention back to Batman.
“You know, I forgive you for not saving me, you can’t save everyone. But why, why is HE still alive?!” You scream, the rage and trauma building up in you finally. “After everything he’s done, he’s crippled, broken, murdered people! Why, why is he still here?!”
“You don’t understand… you never understood.” He said to you, and you scoff.
“What? That you can’t do it? That you don’t have the spine to! It’s too hard isn’t it?” You ask, Bruce shakes his head.
“No, I know it’s easy, he deserves to die a thousand times over, but if I killed him, i wouldn’t stop myself… I’d justify it, then I’d justify killing someone else, and it’ll keep going.. and I’ll sink further, and further into the dark.” Bruce said, you shook your head.
“You can’t control yourself… I’m not talking about Dent, or Penguin, Even Harley!” You toss the gun, Bruce instinctively catches it but, obviously isn’t capable of holding a gun.
“Do it, shoot him. Kill one, and save millions of lives… you’re the Batman right! You save people, don’t you? So save them! And kill him!” You demand, Bruce stares at you, both of you unwavering in your convictions. But he simply dropped the gun.
“No… I’m sorry, (Y/n).” He said in a solemn whisper.
“Fine!” You yell, revealing one last trick up your sleeve. an explosive set in the entire apartment block, revealing the dead man’s switch in your other hand. Joker laughs as he looks around it all beeping. He turns to Batman, and just smiles
“You, you found a way to win! But to lose everything! AHAHAHAHAHA—“ he laughs, reveling in the chaos as you let go of the switch, Batman made a choice, and now all three of you had to live with it, and in a flash, an explosion, it all faded to black for you.
You’ve been playing that in your mind for the past year you’ve been in Belle Reeve. Sitting in your orange room, captive. The 4x4 room kept you isolated, only for a bang at the door.
“Inmate. You’ve got a visitor! Stand up, face the wall.” He yells, you weren’t keen to listen to others. You stood up, facing the door, cracking your neck.
“Any of your men step in, I’m sending ten of them to the ICU.” You said, very calmly, the door opens and they rush in, training with the Batman made fighting multiple enemies a breeze, punches, kicks and knees flew all though the room as you delivered counters, combos and ruthless tactics. But all fun even came at an end as you were apprehended and locked into a chair. Struggling like a dog you strained to get out, you were wheels around Belle Reeve as you see eleven stretchers head to your cell.
“Told you..” you mutter, struggling in the binds. Being wheeled into an interrogation room, you kept your lips purse until you saw your visitor, she wore a women’s suit and skirt, her eyes deep brown like mud drowning you in muck. Amanda Waller. You looked around and saw that the room was being monitored by a single camera. She gave one officer the nod and he presses a button, the red light on the camera fades off.
“You’re not as scary as I expected.” She said, holding a file she sat down across from you. You knew about Waller, working with the Batman gave you some intel on contacts. And she was the nastiest one of all.
“Waller?” You ask.
“In the flesh.” She responded and opened your file, reading it off.
“(Y/n) Todd, Father was a factory worker, died due to Gang related activity. Mother was an addict, died years ago, leaving you alone, but you see.. that’s where it ends, as if you faded off the planet of the earth. Until you resurface a year later.” She said, all of that was true.
“What’s your point?” You ask. And she reads off another page.
“Peak Physical fitness, durability, speed, Agility, Strenght. Master Of Arms and a Genius level intellect… you are a dangerous and powerful individual, so I’m offering you a chance to cut your sentence down..” she offers
“You’re bluffing..” you struggle in the binds more, but Waller keeps her dead stare.
“Do I look like I’m bluffing?” She said, you stop and she looks you in the eye. “you complete your task, you get years off your sentence, you fail.. you die. Fairly simple.” She said, a million thoughts raced though your mind, but one did.
“Get out, Find Joker.. Kill, Joker.”
“…Im in.” You said, Waller takes her file and closes it. “Good, get his bomb in and relay with the others.” She says, your attitude shifts pretty quickly, “bomb?” You ask, “What do you mean bomb?!” You yell, but nobody said anything, being wheeled away you were held down by officers and a needle injected right into the base of your skull. Granted it wasn’t the worse thing that’s been done to you, still hurt. Finally reaching the breaking point you were wheeled outside, the sun finally hitting your skin and you found yourself surrounded by soldiers, many wounded, others preparing for what seems to be a war.
You turn your head left to spot someone you know too well, Deadshot. Seems he was also canned to Belle Reeve, and to your left was a woman you knew too well, Harley Quinn, also a prisoner. Your blood began to boil even more than before and you were ready to throttle her, but with all these soldiers here, you doubt you’d be able to do it without getting filled with lead. So you bid your time as any Hunter would. A Soldier approached them, and looked them up and down.
“Unlock 'em.” He orders, the soldiers obliged and your restraints are removed, you sit up from yoyr bindings and look further down your line. You even spot Killer Croc, in all his, Lizardy goodness. Harley Stretches and keeps her off putting smile. Closest to Harley was a man adorned with Tattoos, ElDiablo was his name, you heard a few reports about him from Batman.
“Mmm! Hi, boys! Harley Quinn. How do you do?” She said, obviously no one said anything. It was dead silence until she looks around. “Huh? What was that? I should kill everyone and escape? Sorry. It's the voices…” she said, but laughs, “I'm kidding! Jeez!…That's not what they really said.”
The soldiers aren’t done assembling their Squad, more soldiers drag over a sack that’s fighting pretty furiously.
“What do we got here? Twelve pounds of shit in a 10-pound sack. Welcome to the party, Captain Boomerang.” He watches them cut it open, Captain immediately swings on the first person he sees. The Soldiers pin him to a wall.
“Hey, what's going on, man? Hey, one minute I'm playing Mahjong with me nanna, then this red streak hits me outta nowhere.” Boomerang pleads.
“Shut up! You were caught robbing a diamond exchange.”
“I was not!”
He Totally Was.
There was one last member, Slipknot, the man who could climb anything, which was an odd ability set, it nonetheless he was here. The man before them all was Colonel Rick Flag.
“Listen up! In your necks, injection you got, it's a nanite explosive. It's the size of a rice grain, but it's powerful as a hand grenade. You disobey me, you die. You try to escape, you die. You otherwise irritate or vex me, and guess what? You die.” He says, which throws a wrench in your plans to escape, Harley obnoxiously puts her hand up.
“I'm known to be quite vexing. I'm just forewarning you.”
“Lady, shut up!” Flag yells, and then composed himself, “This is the deal. You're going somewhere very bad, to do something that'll get you killed. But until that happens, - you're my problem.” He explains, Deadshot looks him up and down.
“Mmm. So was that like a, uh, pep talk?” He asks.
“Yeah. That was a pep talk. There's your shit. Grab what you need for a fight. We're wheels up in 10.” He said, crates of gear was brought in for you and your “Teammates.”
“You might wanna work on your team motivation thing. You heard of Phil Jackson? He's like the gold standard, okay? Triangle, bitch. Study.” Deadshot, with those very inspiring words to flag suits up with everyone. You open your crate to see the old gear you had, still in damn good condition, and you suit up, Your body armor and jacket lined with shuriken, explosives and throwing knives, a combat knife strapped to your leg. Twin M1911 Dual Handguns, mint condition. And your helmet, still holding one scar on it, you take the helmet out of its case and stare at it. Your eyes waver for a moment to your other teammates, everyone seems to have some dumb gimmick, but your eyes dressed down Harley, not by your choice of course, you’ve been cramped in a hole for nearly a year, and the first woman you see was stripping down in front of you. An urge came over you and you knew exactly what it was, she finally gets her shirt on and sees almost every guy staring.
“What?” She said, they all quickly go back to doing what they were supposed to do, you as well, pushing those feelings down. You keep looking at your mask, Deadshot does the same thing with his.
“What? Won't fit anymore? Too much junk in the trunk?” Harley said to him.
“Nah. Every time I put this on, somebody dies.” He tried to shake it off, but couldn’t that.. this wouldn’t be a normal contracts
“And?” Harley said.
“I like putting it on.” He admits, she smirks and grabs her mallet, “Goody. Somethin' tells me a whole lotta people are about to die!” She sounds so giddy.
“Yeah. It's us. We're being led to our deaths.” Diablo said.
“I don’t plan on it.” You said, looking down the barrels of one of your 1911’s.
“You know something we don’t Mate?” Boomerang asks, “No.” You reply. “I just don’t plan on dying again.” You mutter.
“What you a zombie or something?” Deadshot looks unimpressed. “Something like that… point is; Been dead, done that… I plan on getting out of here..” you say, and turn to Harley.
“I’ve got business to take care of.” You made your claim pretty obvious but it didn’t matter to you, escape is the only plan, and getting this explosive disabled. “You don’t seem to giddy like these guys..” you ask El Diablo, “I’m not here to hurt anyone man.” He said. Deadshot was the first to let them all know.
“Y'all might wanna leave old boy alone. He could torch this whole joint. Ain't that right, ese?” He looks at Diablo, who calmly shows his hands, flames emitting from them, but low ones:
“Ain't got nothing to worry about from me. I'm cool, homie.” He says, Flag returns to them, holding a tablet with Amanda on screen.
“Behold the voice of God.” He said, and she gives them the rundown. “For those of you who don't know me officially, my name is Amanda Waller. There's an active terrorist event in Midway City. I want you to enter the city, rescue HVT-1, and get them to safety.” She orders.
“I'm sorry. Uh... For those of us who don't speak good guy, what is HVT-1?” Deadshot asks.
“HVT.. High Value Target.” You say, “It’s like a bounty, Basically a rescue mission.” You explain, Deadshot nods, admitting you made it sound much less cool. “The only person that matters in the city, the one person you can't kill. Complete the mission, you get time off your prison sentence. Fail the mission, you die. Anything happens to Colonel Flag, I'll kill every single one of you. Remember, I'm watching. I see everything.” Waller ends the communication and Flag turns to Deadshot
There's your pep talk.”
“Compared to your shit, she killed it. So that's it? What, we some kind of Suicide Squad?” He asks, Flag ignores his question and leaves.
“I'll notify your next of kin. Alpha, Bravo team. Mount up!” He orders, you look around to the team you’ll be forced to work with. All of them, criminals in their own right, but for now they’re the thing between success, or all of you dying painful deaths. You put on your helmet and the detective mode still works, turning it off. You load your guns and walk to the helicopter.
Task Force X, has been activated.

Things We Still Have in Common
Summary: In retrospect, Ford probably should have just warned Stan about the bunker's security system.
Author's Note: My sister asked me for a Gravity Falls fanfiction for Christmas, and wanted Stan and Ford trapped in a room together for 24 hours, so I put this together!
...
After hearing from Dipper about his experience with the shapeshifter, Ford makes it a point to head down to the bunker himself to check and see that it’s still secure. It’s not that he doesn’t trust Dipper when he said they handled it, but the cryochamber Dipper mentioned pushing him into is fairly old, and Ford would just as soon make sure it’s still functioning properly.
So, after lunch, he heads down to the bunker, with a fair amount of tools to update the chamber if need be.
It’s been quite a long time since he’s been to the bunker, even after arriving back in this dimension, so he’s not surprised to find things moved around and changed. Dipper did mention, with a fair amount of sheepishness, that they’d moved things around in the main observatory, and done quite a bit of damage in the tunnels. Dipper might have oversold it a bit, however, because when Ford arrives in the observatory, he doesn’t find much damage apart from moved around papers and some flipped switches that appear to be long past use anyway. The cryochamber is visible on one of the monitors, and the shapeshifter is still frozen inside, sure enough, looking just like Dipper. The sight is more than a little unsettling, but at least he doesn’t have to worry about the chambers being on the verge of collapse. There’s no sign of any thawing, or dripping water, or anything that would mean he had a time crunch in checking it over, and he doesn’t need to head straight in there.
He heads instead for the control console, and checks over the readings on the cryochamber. It seems to be in good shape for the most part, and though he’ll need to replace the temperature modulator at some point in the next ten years, he did build it to last.
Ford writes down a couple notes in the third journal, which he brought with him, and is about to head back towards the entrance, when suddenly, a new figure appears on the monitor.
For a second, Ford wonders if the shapeshifter really has escaped and he’s seeing things, because he can’t think of many other reasons for Stanley to be down here in the bunker. He’s carrying an armful of cans of “Baron Num Nums High Flyin' Beans,” and seems to be singing to himself.
Ford groans, but presses the button on the console that overrides the disinfectant closet’s doors, and marches over to it as Stan approaches the main room, making sure his irritation is plain on his face.
“Stockin’ beans for the apocalypse, do do do do,” Stan sings as he walks through from the tunnels, eyes closed and not seeming to have noticed Ford yet.
“Stanley,” Ford says, if for no other reason than to put an end to his singing.
Stan yelps and drops nearly half the cans as he opens his eyes and looks over at Ford. He looks down at the cans on the ground, then glares back up.
“Great. Thanks, Ford.”
“What are you doing down here? This place is dangerous.”
“Relax, would ya? The thing is locked up,” he says, gesturing to the cryochamber. “And Wendy mentioned a whole bunch of cans of beans down here, so I figured I’d add to my stash for the apocalypse. Hey, help me pick these cans up.”
Ford rolls his eyes and makes no such movement. “You shouldn’t have come down here without my permission,” he says.
“Oh, excuse me,” Stan says, adding a fair amount of mockery to his tone. “I’ve been pokin’ around your creepy inventions for thirty years, Poindexter, forgive me if I don’t start asking permission now.”
“I never wanted you poking around my inventions in the first place,” Ford says coolly.
Stan sets down some of the cans so he can shift around the ones in his arms, and starts singing again. “Ignoring my brother, do do do do, ‘cause he’s bein’ a jerk, do do do do do do…”
Ford groans and turns to walk back into the control room, figuring he might as well give Stanley a taste of his own medicine.
He grabs his notebook, and is about to start back through the security room, when he hears Stan start walking again, sounding like he’s carrying far too many cans.
Ford turns around with a sigh, because if Stan’s going to insist on bringing all of the cans back Ford might as well take some of them, just to make the jangling of the cans quieter, naturally. But before he can offer, one of the cans balanced precariously on top of the pile slips off, and Stan doesn’t seem to notice, too busy trying to balance another one that was about to do the same thing.
“Stan,” Ford starts, but he’s too late. The can rolls just far enough into the control room for Stan’s foot to hit it as he steps out of the disinfectant chamber. He tumbles down towards the ground, and all of the cans in his arms go flying— right into the security room.
“Wait!” Ford yells, leaping immediately for the control panel, but it’s too late. Dozens of cans hit dozens of the alert panels, and the security mechanism slams shut at what to it is registering as a small army. The disinfectant chamber slams shut and locks on the other side of the room, and an alarm starts blaring overhead.
Ford groans and turns a displeased look back on Stan, who’s currently climbing up from the ground.
“Uh,” Stan says, having the decency to look sheepish. “Whoops.”
“Fantastic,” Ford mutters, sitting down at the control panel. He hits a couple buttons, and the alarm shuts off, at least.
“Yeah, yeah, sorry,” Stan says. “Welp. I’ve lost all of my beans. You want to get us out of here so I can go home and mope in peace?”
“I can’t,” Ford says, glaring at him. “With that many alarms, it stays up for 24 hours.”
“What? Why? Wouldn’t any intruders be pretty crushed pretty immediately?”
“Humans would, but they’re not what we were worried about when Fiddleford and I built the thing,” Ford snaps. He tries a couple more switches to no avail, and sits back in his chair with a sigh. “We’re stuck down here until it turns off.”
“Oh sure, and whose fault is that?”
Ford turns to him in bafflement. “Yours?”
“I didn’t build a death trap for a security system.”
Ford leans forward to massage at his temples, then reaches into his bag, then pulls out the walkie talkie he’d given to Dipper in case he ran into some kind of trouble and needed to let someone know. He presses the button.
“Dipper? Come in, Dipper,” he says into it, and lets go.
“Great Uncle Ford!” comes Dipper’s worried voice. “Are you okay?”
“Stanley set off the security system and we’re stuck down here for the next 24 hours,” Ford says.
“Hey, I wouldn’t have set it off if you hadn’t—”
“Will you two be alright until we get out?” Ford cuts him off.
“Yeah, I think so,” Dipper says. “But do you need me to come there?”
“There’s nothing you could do anyway,” Ford says. “Just hang out at the shack, alright?”
“Tell Soos to stay after,” Stan adds in. “But I’m not paying him any extra.”
“Okay,” Dipper says. “Let me know if you need anything.”
“I will. Over and out,” Ford says. Dipper doesn’t say anything else, and he drops the walkie talkie back into his bag.
“So,” Stan says, a smugness to his voice that makes Ford immediately regret his life choices. “They should just hang out at the shack, huh?”
Ford gives Stan a confused look. “What are you talking about?”
“That’s what you said to Dipper,” Stan says, leaning against the console. “That they should hang out at the shack.”
Ford goes over his word choices and kicks himself. “It is the shack until the end of the summer,” he says, trying to put “I didn’t mess up, I said exactly what I meant to say” into his voice. “And then it will go back to being my house again.”
“Uh-huh, sure,” Stan says, because Ford has never been able to properly lie to him.
Ford rolls his eyes and turns back to his journal, scribbling “I am writing this down in order to ignore Stanley,” in small letters.
It seems to work well enough, because Stan just shrugs and goes to collect what cans of beans escaped the security system.
Ford leans back in the chair and closes the journal. He’s not exactly thrilled at the prospect of spending twenty four hours here with Stanley. At least neither of them are hurt, and since they’re in this room specifically, they’ll be able to tell as soon as the security system shuts off, and get out right afterwards.
Out of the corner of his vision, Ford sees Stan set five cans of beans on the ground by the door, which seems to be all that survived the crushing. Stan gives a disappointed sigh and wanders over to one of the shelves on the other side of the room. He starts to whistle to himself.
“Please don’t,” Ford says instantly. “Being stuck here is going to be hard enough.”
Stan’s only response is to start to whistle louder.
Ford resists the instinct to slam his head onto the desk.
It is going to be a long 24 hours.
…
With every minute, Ford is regretting more not putting a clock down here. He can always radio Dipper if he needs to know what time it is that badly, but he doesn’t want to bother the boy with something so trivial. It’s not like knowing what time it is will make the time they’re down here lessen. Besides, then Stan could mock him for blinking first, and Ford can’t let him win.
Eventually, he and Stan settle into activities. Stan has begun trying to balance the beakers that were sitting on the shelves. Ford hasn’t stopped him because he hasn’t broken any yet, and at least he’s not saying anything. Ford is reading through his journal and making updated notes and additions, though he often doesn’t have much space to do so. His drawings tend to take up a lot of space.
Ford would be perfectly content to do just that for the entire time they’re down there, but he also would be a fool if he doesn’t expect Stanley to ruin it at some point.
Sure enough, as Ford is going through Dipper’s entries and highlighting parts that intrigue him, Stanley speaks up.
“So, uh, did you build this place just to house your shapeshifter guy?”
Ford sighs, and doesn’t look up from the journal as he responds.
“Not at first,” he says. “I wanted to explore Gravity Falls underground. I had planned to expand the tunnels at first, before—” the Shapeshifter turned dangerous. And before Bill showed up, and all but robbed Ford of everything he’d loved about Gravity Falls in the first place, made all of the anomalies he’d come here for seem like pointless wastes of time.
“Before the shifter guy happened?” Stan asks, cutting off Ford’s train of thought.
Ford sighs, making sure his exasperation is clear. The response “Actually it was before I got shoved into another dimension,” pops into his head, but he swallows it down and nods instead. It’s needlessly callous, and would just add more tension when they’re going to have to be here for a while yet.
“You know, if you wanted to explore Gravity Falls underground, there was a dinosaur cavern already sitting there,” Stan says.
“I read about it in Dipper’s journal,” Ford says. “I didn’t know it existed back then. I’ll probably make time to go there eventually.”
“Watch out for pterodactyls,” Stan deadpans. “Glad to know I beat you to that, though.”
Ford grits his teeth and opts not to respond.
“Did you hear about how I punched it in the face?”
“Are you trying to start an argument?” Ford snaps, glaring down at him.
“It would definitely make the time go faster,” Stan says, giving Ford a grin that’s just a little too smug.
“Considering how quickly I beat you last time, no it wouldn’t,” Ford says, adapting a smug smile of his own.
Stan’s face drops into a scowl. “Hey, you caught me off guard after I’d just run from a bunch of FBI agents through an entire town. Gimme a break. I bet you couldn’t beat up a bunch of zombies.”
“Please,” Ford says, rolling his eyes. “Most of them are in an advanced state of decay. I did physically overpower quite a few of them once.”
“Oh, please. If you had, you’d have written it in your stupid journals,” Stan says, rolling his eyes as he looks back up at the ceiling.
Ford clenches his teeth. “They’re not stupid,” he says, in lieu of revealing to Stanley the pages that he ripped out of the journal. He doesn’t want to revisit those experiences anytime soon, and especially not with Stanley of all people.
Stan doesn’t reply with anything more than a grunt, before going back to picking up one of the smaller beakers and placing it on top of the one currently balanced atop all the others. At which point, his streak ends and they topple over, several of them shattering on the ground.
“Fantastic,” Ford snaps, standing and pushing the chair back. “I don’t have any way to clean up broken glass right now, Stanley.”
“I don’t see any other way to entertain myself here,” Stan snaps back, bending down to pick up the ones that aren’t broken and setting them back on the shelves. “I didn’t come down here with plans to stay, I didn’t bring anything to do.”
“That’s not my fault.”
“Did I say it was?”
Ford groans in frustration and sits back down at the desk, getting back to work on the journal.
Stan doesn’t go for the beakers again, but instead goes and leans against the other wall. He’s never been one to sit still for long, however, so Ford’s not surprised when he speaks up again before long.
“It grabbed Mabel’s pet pig, you know.”
Ford shot a confused look over his shoulder. “What did?”
“The pterodactyl,” Stan says, crossing his arms and looking up at the ceiling in reminiscence. “It uh, burst into the house and grabbed it right out of my hands.”
“Uh-huh, sure,” Ford says, rolling his eyes and turning back to his journal.
“What, you’re not seriously gonna write in that thing the whole time, are ya? We’re stuck here for a while, might as well reminisce for a bit.”
“I cannot think of any circumstance that would make me want to reminisce with you,” Ford says without looking up.
“And that’s just the kind of warm fuzziness that makes you so pleasant to be around, Poindexter.”
Ford drops his pen and spins around in his chair, glaring at Stanley. “Need I remind you it’s your fault we’re here in the first place?”
“You think maybe if you’d helped me carry a couple of those cans we wouldn’t be in this mess?” Stan shoots back, narrowing his eyes.
“It’s not my job to help you with every hare-brained scheme you come up with.”
“Yeah, heaven forbid you have to help me out with something like carrying groceries. Oh, the indignity.”
“I came down here for something important, Stanley!” Ford snaps, which seems to be the wrong thing to say, because Stan’s gaze darkens.
“Well,” he says coldly. “If you don’t give a shit about my thing, why the hell should I give a shit about yours?”
Ford sighs, and pinches the bridge of his nose. “It’s fine,” he says. “There won’t be any long-term harm done, it’s just a rather large inconvenience. We’re just going to have to grin and bear it.”
Stan huffs, and grabs one of the cans of beans, yanking the top back until it opens. He pulls the metal lid off and bends it until it makes a satisfactory spoon, which he uses to scoop the beans up and into his mouth.
“Beans?” he grumbles, nodding down at them.
“I think I’ll manage,” Ford says, spinning his chair back around. “I’ve gone longer than 24 hours without food.”
Many times, actually. Food isn’t always easy to find in every dimension out there in the multiverse, and there are quite a few instances he can think of having to go without. He’ll make it until lunchtime tomorrow just fine.
He’s not expecting a response from Stanley in regards to that, but to his surprise, he gets one.
“It’s uh, not a skill you can just pick right back up, Poindexter.”
Ford turns and gives him a curious look. “Excuse me?”
“Not eating for more than a day. It’s not a skill you can just pick right back up. You’ve had, you know, stable meals for a couple weeks now.”
Ford looks at him for a moment, not sure quite what that means.
“I know,” he says eventually.
Stan sighs, and shakes his head. He sets his open can down, grabs three of the cans of beans off the floor and walks over to the console, then sets them down next to Ford. “Eat ‘em when you get hungry,” he says, and walks back over to pick up his open can again.
“I mean it,” he adds when Ford doesn’t say anything.
Ford sighs but doesn’t object, then turns back to his journal.
He’ll end up eating the beans in a couple hours.
…
As the time drags on, the quiet gets more comfortable. Ford gives Stan a turn in the chair eventually, since it’s the only real place to comfortably sit in there. To his surprise, Stan quickly falls asleep leaning against the desk.
It’s probably close to night at this point, but Ford had figured they’d eventually try to sleep on the ground, since sleeping in a chair like that would be bad for their backs at this age.
To be fair, the ground probably wouldn’t be much better, but he still can’t help but notice that Stan seems far more comfortable than he should be, hunched over a desk like that. Maybe he just never grew out of his ease with falling asleep in class?
Or maybe, Ford realizes with a start, he’s fallen asleep in a desk chair a lot these past thirty years.
Ford doesn’t want to linger on that thought for too long, so he sits down against the wall with his journal and starts sketching out plans to install a failsafe to the security system. Best to avoid a repeat of this situation in the future, and it’s easier to work without Stan jabbering on.
He makes his way through a decent amount of the changes he’ll have to make and the overrides he’ll have to install before his focus is dragged away by Stan starting to mutter in his sleep.
Ford sighs, looking at Stan in part exasperation, part amazement. Even when he’s asleep, Stan finds a way to break his concentration.
Ford keeps his gaze on him for a minute, trying to decide if this is more or less annoying than Stan’s periodic interruptions. He’s thrown out of that internal debate, however, when he hears what Stan’s actually saying.
He’s muttering apologies.
Maybe he’s also done that a lot while asleep at a desk chair these past thirty years—
Ford pushes himself to his feet, walks across the room, and shakes Stan’s shoulder.
Stan jerks awake immediately, and is already swinging fists towards him. Ford steps back, just far enough to avoid the swing of Stan’s fists. Sometimes those multiverse instincts are very helpful.
It takes Stan a minute, but eventually he seems to shake awareness back into his head, and blinks a couple of times at Ford.
“You— ugh,” he grumbles, the tension slipping out of his posture as he rubs at his eyes. “What the hell was that for?”
Ford doesn’t answer right away. “You were being unintentionally vulnerable in your sleep and I didn’t want to know things you didn’t want to tell me” doesn’t feel like it will go over well. But it’s true. If there’s anything three decades in the multiverse has taught him, it’s that you don’t just go around sharing your secrets with anyone. It’s dangerous. And that’s definitely what he’s thinking about. It’s the safety thing. It’s definitely not just that he doesn’t want to force anything like that on Stan.
“You were talking in your sleep,” Ford says instead. “I’m trying to work.”
“Are you kidding me?” Stan snaps, glaring at him. “Let a man sleep, Poindexter. It’s been a long day.”
Ford walks back over to where he’d been sitting before and sits down with his journal.
Stan huffs and puts his arms back on the control panel, then leans his head on top of his arms, shutting his eyes again.
“I have nightmares too,” Ford mutters, because he can’t help it.
Stan gives a very loud, obviously fake snore, and Ford pulls open his journal and gives up.
Stan does manage to fall asleep again, after a while, and the nightmares thankfully don’t make a recurrence.
Ford hadn’t thought that after forty years apart he would have anything in common with his brother anymore. He wouldn’t have picked nightmares, if he had a choice.
Or food insecurity, for that matter.
In the end, Ford decides an all nighter is more appropriate. There’s too high a chance that if he shuts his eyes right now, he’ll have a nightmare of his own. Bill would come to pay a visit, if nothing else. He wouldn’t miss out on a chance to show up and mock Ford for something like this. Ford can’t be sure that Stan will pay him the same courtesy of waking him up, and Ford isn’t ready to be vulnerable either.
So instead, he finishes the plans for the security system override, turns to a new page, and sketches a drawing of what Stan probably looked like, fallen asleep at a different desk.
Purely to pass the time, of course.
…
Stan sleeps well into the morning, which Ford definitely doesn’t mind. He gets one radio communication from Dipper, that it’s 7 in the morning and they have five hours left on the security system, and also that Soos is going to run the shack today.
That last part wakes Stan up.
“Absolutely not,” he says, before he’s even finished blinking the sleep out of his eyes. “Tell him we’re opening late.”
“He can do it, Grunkle Stan!” comes Mabel’s voice. “Besides, Dipper’s done a tour before, he can’t do worse than that!”
“Hey!”
“That is true…”
“Hey!”
“Oh, alright. But you watch him, pumpkin. You’ve got experience with bossing people around.”
“You got it! Over and out!”
“Hey, I get to say—”
The radio cuts off.
Ford chuckles a little. “So, do you think the place will still be standing when we get back?”
“Eh, I give it a 70/30 chance. Apparently they did knock a new hole in the wall last time I let Mabel run things, but it was fixed by the time I got home.”
“You— I’m sorry?”
“Mabel and I made a bet.”
“Of course you did,” Ford sighs, though if the damage is already fixed he supposes he can’t be that upset.
Stan stands and stretches, with a couple pops in his back that sound rather painful.
“You’re up,” he says, jerking his thumb at the chair as he starts to walk around the room.
Ford gives a wave of thanks and walks over to sit down in the chair. It definitely feels nice to sit on something cushioned instead of the cold floor.
“According to Dipper we have about five hours left, by the way,” Ford says. Stan gives a grunt of acknowledgement.
Ford sets his journal open to the page where he drew the plans for the override, and spends the last five hours comparing his notes to the actual control console. Stan takes an hour or so to wake up, then spends the time balancing the much less breakable bean cans in different ways.
The fact that they have less time to wait than they did yesterday certainly helps the mood of the room, but even so, by the time Dipper radios to alert them they only have an hour left, Ford can tell they’re both itching to get out of there. Ford does his best to keep track of how much time passes in the last hour, since he doesn’t want to bother Dipper every couple minutes for an update, but the closer it gets to the time the system will shut off, the more Ford wants out of there.
“Gonna go home and make some food,” Stan mutters to himself at one point. “And gonna have to thank Soos for watching the kids for so long. Maybe I’ll just let him run the shack for the rest of the day, he would take that as thanks.”
“You’d just spend the day napping,” Ford says, and winces. He’d actually been aiming more for teasing, but there’s far too much flatness to his tone for it to count.
Sure enough, Stan snaps back, “Yeah, and maybe I’ve earned it, huh? I’ve had to put up with your ugly mug for the last 24 hours.”
“We have the same face,” Ford groans, looking up at the ceiling.
“Your point being?”
Ford grumbles and turns back to his journal, though he is most certainly out of anything interesting he could find it there.
And then, to his great relief, there’s the sound of loud clanking, and both he and Stan turn in desperate hope to see the tiles to the other room sliding back, leaving their exit from the bunker clear.
“Finally,” Stan groans, moving immediately towards the room.
“Stop,” Ford snaps, grabbing him by the arm and yanking him back. “Don’t step on the tiles.”
Stan shoots him a dirty look. “I know that, Poindexter,” he snaps. “I came down here in the first place, didn’t I?”
Ford huffs, and pulls Stan back so he can slip out past him first. He trusts himself more when it comes to avoid tripping, and he’s not going to get stuck down here again.
He hears Stan’s irritated grumbling behind him, but Ford just ignores it to turn on the radio and tell Dipper they’re on their way out.
“Awesome!” Dipper calls. “I mean, uh, that’s good, Great Uncle Ford. We’ll see you in just a bit!”
“See you soon, Grunkle Stan and Grunkle Ford!” Mabel calls, sounding thrilled at the prospect.
“See you soon,” Ford agrees, with a fond smile, though neither Mabel or Dipper could see it.
“Oh, and you don’t need to worry about food or anything, Soos made you lunch!” Mabel adds on as an afterthought.
“Yeah, alright,” Stan calls as they both head out of the security room and towards the front room, and head for the staircase.
“You want me to tell him thanks, Grunkle Stan?” Mabel asks.
Ford glances back to see Stan’s obvious distaste at the idea, but he responds, “Sure, pumpkin,” in a tone of voice that doesn’t let any of that through. “But all of you prepare yourselves, ya hear? I’ve got a whole day of annoying you knuckleheads to make up for.”
Mabel’s delighted giggles and Dipper’s exhausted groan both come through the radio.
“Roger that! Over and out!” Mabel calls.
“I get to say that! Hey, give me back the—” the radio cuts out.
Stan chuckles with a fond roll of his eyes. Ford looks at him for another moment, then pulls his gaze away so Stan doesn’t think he’s staring. Still, as they both start up the steps, it occurs to him that he might actually still have one more thing in common with his brother.
This one, he can’t say he minds that much.

Hello everyone! If you’ve seen my previous posts labeled “CPR Animation Test,” you may be wondering what’s these tests are for.
These tests are part of a dynamic animation system that I’m calling: “Rescue Theater.” Below, I’ll outline how the system works as well as my future plans.
The idea behind Rescue Theater was to make a system that can play back different animations in real time depending on the user’s input. I’m building this system in Unity, a game engine, because the result is essentially a video game. There isn’t a way to win or lose yet, so I guess it’s more of a simulation?
The core logic of Rescue Theater is built around modules that I call rescue modes. There are currently three rescue modes, one for chest compressions, another for mtm, and a third for defibs. These modes can be switched with a key press, and the characters will transition between these modes in real time.
Once inside a rescue mode, the user can control the animation using the space key. Each mode has its own internal logic.
Chest Compressions
Every time the user presses the space key, the chest compression animation will play. This animation will speed up or slow down depending on how fast the user presses the space key. This allows the animation to match the user’s desired input rhythm.
MTM
This mode will start the mtm animation when the user presses the space key. As long as the space key is held down, the rescuer will continue their exhale. As soon as the key is released, the animation will reset and the victim will slowly exhale.
Defib
There are three different defib animations with increasing intensities. These three animations are cycled between whenever the user presses the space key. I have plans to improve this system once I’ve included more gameplay features.
That’s all I’ve shown so far, but I have a lot of ideas for future features to improve the animation system.
Things like:
Sound Effects (I’m currently working on this)
Secondary Animation: these are things like dynamically controlling where the rescuer’s head is looking, eye blinking, facial expressions, etc. Small details that will add variation and bring the animations to life.
More Rescue Modes: current ideas for additional modes include straddled cpr, aed, ambu bag. I’m open to more suggestions here.
Environments for the animations to take place in
More characters with different outfits
Basic gameplay loop and a story mode
My reason for making this post was to gauge interest in this project and see which features I should prioritize. So if you have any ideas that you’d like me to add, please let me know.
Also, if you want further clarification on how the system works, feel free to ask. I’m sure I didn’t explain it very well.
Thanks for reading!

Are there any notable supporters you reccomend? I kinda ignore the class except for gnosis (and I do use scene and deep color in IS a bit) and I wonder if I'm actually sleeping on some fun units.
YOU CAME TO THE RIGHT NEIGHBORHOOD, MOTHER FUCKER, I LOVE SUPPORTERS.
Suzuran - 6* Decel Binder. The moral of Arknights is that children make excellent soldiers, and Suzuran proves this. Her two Talents are really good, as she serves as an incredibly potent SP accelerator for Supporters (+0.4 extra SP per second, so Supporters will charge 40% faster, herself included), and all enemies suffering from Slow (the actual status effect Slow, not the movement speed reduction effects one can find on Manticore or Chung the Hung, for example) in her range are also inflicted with 20% Fragile (so, they take 20% extra Phys, Arts and True damage from all sources). It doesn't have to be Slow inflicted by her, any Slow will do, so Angelina's S2 machinegun Slow will render an enemy vulnerable to an ass kicking quite effectively, as will Podenco's S2, and any source of Slow additional to Suzuran herself. S2 gives her an extra target on every attack, 2 extra targets with Masteries, alongside a minor Attack buff and, more importantly, infinite duration, meaning she can control more enemies at once and better prevent Slow Dilution (what I call when you Slow an enemy, then the next enemy passes them, making them the next target, and so on, diluting damage and clustering them; this isn't necessarily bad but it can be undesired depending on you strategy). Her spotlight stealer, however, is her S3, which expands her range, provides strong passive healing (so unhealables can be healed), doubles her Fragile Talent (40%), and Slows everything in range. Gnosis Fragile is bigger (50%) but he only maintains it in comparatively shorter bursts, Suzuran's S3 last 35 whopping seconds, and enemies that are Slow-immune are far fewer than Freeze-immune. This section is particularly big because, yeah, Suzuran just really does that much, she combos VERY well with other Supporters, can be slotted in any team, and just generally works, I'm not even a Suzuran fan, she's just that jacked.
Podenco - 4* Decel Binder, real name GODenco, also slots easily into any team, can switch to healing on her S1, or provide bursts of Silence, AoE Arts damage and Slow on good upkeep with her S2. She also provides a minor passive buff to other Supporters. If you need to Silence things, you think of the best Silencer, Lappland, but sometimes you need to Silence a LOT of things, enough that Lapp might get overwhelmed, well, that's when you use GODenco S2 and suddenly that entire cluster of 8 exploding spiders won't go boom no more. She's really good for Slow Dilution because of her single target into AoE skill, so she combos really good with AoE hitters like Artillerymen, Fortresses, Chain Casters, Qiu Bai S2, etc.
Shamare - 5* Hexer, a good execution support, as she applies 30% Fragile to enemies in range under 40% HP. Her main hat trick, however, is her S2, her signature Cursed Doll. At S2M3, the Cursed Doll, which you deploy on the field and it affects its tile and the 8 surrounding tiles, will provide an absolutely ungodly debuff of -50% ATK and DEF to all enemies in said range. One of the rare ATK% debuffs in the game, and in my opinion the best, it'll make even Gopnik hit like a wet noodle. What's more, since it's not an active skill, the moment you drop your Cursed Doll, Shamare will immediately begin charging the next one! With a charge of 30 and a doll timer of 15 seconds, her true charge time is 15 seconds. Basically, you can cycle 15 seconds of regular enemy stats and 15 seconds of halved enemy stats. This is legitimately insane. Since Shamare's stats are also unimportant, you can just leave her at E2Lv1 (unless you want her Module, which imo is not worth the lv2+ and I'd only get the lv1 if you really like her) so she can be a cheap and powerful investment.
U-Official - NUMERO UNO CAMPEAO DA PENTA
Quercus - 5* Abjurer. I'll keep it simple here: Her healing with Module is bonkers, and she provides Shelter (damage reduction%) to units in range above 70% HP, 60% with Module Lv3. S1 is her permanent Healer mode, toggable on a long cooldown, while S2 is her burst healing window skill, notable in that it provides SP to healed units throughout its duration. Quercus is sleeped upon, she's a REALLY strong Supporter that provides SP, healing and bulk.
Orchid - 3* Decel Binder. I include her here if you want to play Integrated Strategies, because she's always a good free pick there. She's the Slower that Slows.
Roberta - 4* Artificer. I include her here because my stream audience will disembowel me and chain my flayed corpse outside the Museum of Modern Arts if I don't, she's my meme unit. THOUGH, her Shield-providing, DEF enhancing tools can come in handy.
Valarqvin - 5* Ritualist. The IS4 free unit. Significantly stronger in IS4 due to built-in Necrosis Damage on autoattacks, but even outside of IS4, she can be useful for bursting or key enemy elimination with S2, as Necrosis is a strong effect with a built in, decaying ATK% debuff (again, rare) and unmitigated DoT (total of 12000 damage over 15 seconds, 800 dmg per second). Nothing so far in the game resists this, so go ham.
Angelina - 6* Decel Binder. Angelina's whole thing is that she's not a standout unit in any regard, but she can support practically every team, can so strong sustained damage and Slow against single targets with S2, strong multitarget Slow and reduced Weight for Shifting with S3, and passively increases party ASPD and gives them passive healing (works on unhealables). Angelina is kind of like a crowbar or a length of rope in that she's as useful as you can be creative with her, never as a stand out, but as a good brick in the overall house.
Ling - Limited 6* Summoner. Kind of an obligatory mention, but basically, God Mode. One of the gamebreakers, as she can produce 4-Block replenishable immensely powerful summons with multitarget equal to block, Arts damage, and damaging auras. Yeah. Even without that monster of an S3, she can sub Burst Damage and crowd control really well with S2. Her applications are insane, she's so strong that we can be here all day, so we won't do that, she's a very well documented unit.
Skadi the Corrupting Heart - Limited 6* Bard. Again, another well documented unit, but she can basically E3 your units with the sheer stat heft she provides through her S2 buff, can deploy an extension to this range with her Seaborn Summon, and if you really want to go ham, she can enter Microwave Mode with S3 so True Damage cook the shit out of anything, in addition to providing a really big Attack bonus to units in range while at it. Well documented unit so I'll keep it brief but yeah, godlike unit.
There's a few more, like Proviso and Scene, but that's enough for now. "Your forgot to mention--" I didn't forget, you do it.
I hope this helps, anon!

Cyclops
The Cyclops began production in 2710 as an assault BattleMech and headquarters unit for Star League Defense Force field commanders. A decent mix of weapons provided the Cyclops with both long- and short-range firepower and a sizable engine to keep up with mobile operations. The most important feature of the 'Mech though was its advanced electronics, especially the Tacticon B-2000 Battle Computer, which allows the pilot to effectively command up to brigade-sized units. Other aspects of the 'Mech are less than stellar however. The diverse array of weapons means the 'Mech does suffer somewhat from ammunition issues while meager armoring provides less protection than that found on similar machines, though it is enough to stave off attackers until reinforcements arrive. In particular the armoring on the head section, while as heavily protected as allowed by the internal structure, leaves the pilot and the sophisticated command and control equipment more vulnerable than usual. When operating as the command vehicle at regimental and higher echelons with an ample support apparatus and guarded by a headquarters lance, these deficiencies are far less noticeable and the Cyclops could be kept in reserve until employed to turn the tide of battle or exploit a weakness.
Unfortunately the Cyclops did not fare so well with the onset of the Amaris Civil War when the Rim Worlds Republic Military destroyed its primary factory on Caph in 2774. Spare parts for the machine quickly began to dry up, until by the end of the Succession Wars less than ten percent still had a working B-2000 computer. Lacking the critical part of being a command vehicle many Cyclopses were pressed into an assault role. Acting as the bodyguard or decoy for the real commanding officer, they proved to be swift if mediocre combat machines. As most enemies know about the vulnerable head and automatically target it in combat, many Cyclops pilots also began adding false head protectors to defend against impacts. A study by the NAIS after the Fourth Succession War would eventually find that these caused more harm than good by restricting vision and increasing shrapnel, ending the practice altogether.
The rediscovery of the Helm Memory Core kick-started a number of attempts to replicate the B-2000 computer, however there were no successful attempts prior to the Clan Invasion. Also, the invention of the C3 computer with its emphasis on small-scale networking, and a switch in doctrine to using DropShips as command posts, saw the Cyclops' command role decline. However Grumium Creations was eventually able to restart production of new variants of the 'Mech, and where it has participated a Cyclops with a working B-2000 has had noticeable effects. For this reason Cyclops 'Mechs with a working battle computer were reserved for high-ranking officers.
The Cyclops carries an arsenal built to handle almost any situation. For long-range combat and indirect fire, the 'Mech carries a Delta Dart LRM-10 missile launcher in the left torso along with one ton of reloads. For closer ranges the 'Mech has a variety of weapons. A Zeus-36, Mark III Autocannon/20 mounted in the right torso keeps all but the heaviest 'Mechs at a respectable distance and is fed by four tons of ammo split between the side torsos. The autocannon is backed up by two Diverse Optics Type 20 medium lasers, one in either arm, and a Hovertec Quad SRM-4 with one ton of reloads in the center torso.
The centerpiece of the Cyclops is its sophisticated holographic battle computer, the Tacticon B-2000. When combined with the Olmstead 840 tight beam comm suite with SatNav module, the Cyclops can effectively command a brigade across the surface of an entire world. Unfortunately the Cyclops is poorly protected relative to other assault 'Mechs with only ten tons of armor, and while its normal load of twelve heat sinks allows it to stay cool in most cases, they can prove to be inadequate in especially heavy situations.

need your thoughts about i feel you linger in the air i love reading your answers so much 😭
hiiiii nonnie (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
oh god i cannot wax poetic enough about this series. to this day it's still my favorite bl series of all time and i do in fact fear i'll be lingering in the air forever.
i guess today i should talk a little bit about my beloved KHUN YAI or more specifically how BRIGHT RAPHEEPHONG played KHUN YAI!
One of my favorite thing about IFYLITA is how they have adapted Khun Yai to give him an well rounded personality. His character is more well defined in the series than it was in the novel because Series!Yai had a dream, he had plans, he had goals, his fated meeting with Jom has brought change upon him and his household.
And Bright played Khun Yai with the most consideration to the character. I think he really understood the character Khun Yai and the homework he did absolutely paid off because I was completely swept away by Bright as Khun Yai. I couldn't see any traces of his past lakorn roles/characters in Khun Yai at all. It's as if he's transformed himself into a separate character solely for this series.
As a lakorn watcher, I think the first detail I picked up from Bright as Yai was his diction. I feel like diction is an (underrated) make-or-break element for the believable-ness of a character that typically BL audience wouldn't comment on (but also understandably because many BL audience discussing in English internet spaces are often non-Thai viewers). But because I'm nosy and I like spying on Thai lakorn audience, I'm grateful to see many talks and discussions on diction, especially for their period/historical lakorns. Bright got the diction right down to a tee and he really gives off strong khun chai/suphapburoot (gentleman) vibes through his diction.
And I promise like diction has nothing to do with whether the actor has a low-pitch voice or a high-pitch voice. I feel like even for Tor Thanapob who has a mid/high-pitch voice, he played this gentleman character perfectly through his portrayal of Khun Phra in My Cherie Amour.
Khun Yai was special because Bright was able to deliver his dialogues at a moderate, controlled pace, not rushing through his speech. Bright even attended a workshop to help with his speech because irl he was speaking too fast and unclearly. He would also do mouth exercises (a,e,i,o,u etc) while driving to adjust his pronunciation.
You can also feel that Bright's voice is well-modulated and controlled as Khun Yai with very subtle and sophisticated vocal nuances to deliver his emotions instead of an exagerrated delivery you may often seen in lakorns. I remember him telling the story of him using his "Khun Yai" voice even when playing video games with friends in real life to get used to that voice.
NO BUT JUST EVERY LINE THAT COMES OUT OF HIS MOUTH MY GOD. Like I thought long and hard before about the believability of this character and I could only come to the conclusion that it can only be because of Bright's immaculate line delivery in combination with those loving gazes that got me squealing every time Khun Yai says something loving to Jom.
Another detail is Khun Yai switching between slight local dialect used with him family and servants around the household but at times speak in the dialect that Jom can understand... Of course, this is probably an intentional choice of director/screenwriter but to execute that clearly isn't easy at all and can be a challenge for many actors.
Bright said he practiced everything from walking with hands behind his back to the getting the posture right. And it's all of these tiny details that Bright had to put in the work for Khun Yai to come alive so vividly in the series.
so yeah... bright did a LOT of his homework (literally)... he understood the assignment... he came and served so hard as khun yai... to the point where i feel like whoever playing this kind of khun chai/suphapburoot character in future historical/period bl series are gonna have a hard time beating the position yai holds in my heart.
TLDR: I LOVE BRIGHT as KHUN YAI!
thank you for waiting for this response from me nonnie. i actually planned on writing about something else but then i changed my mind and then i got pretty busy with irl stuff. and i finally took some time out today to wax a bit of love for my beloved khun yai because i miss him even more since we got the trailer for memoir of rati.

Awesome Decked Out Stream btw! Congrats on the first win!
Also; Sorry if you’ve answered this question before but what piece of equipment do you use to supplement your microphone to do all the cool voice modulations? On stream you were talking to Rendog about it and I swore you called it a “gargexalar” which absolutely can’t be right but I struggle phonetically! I also recall you spoke of it on the Imp and Skizz Podcast, but I couldn’t grasp the name there either. Would love to know how to get a cool mic set up for personal voice work and it sound like you know/have some good advice! :D
It's called a GoXLR, it's from a company called TC Helicon who seem to have abandoned the product earlier this year by laying off all but a few staff, so just be mindful of that if you purchase one. It's works just fine but any major errors or windows updates in the future I guess could have the potential to ruin things (although due to its popularity there's already a third party software etc made by the community)
I'm still wanting to move to a Rode Procaster Duo but currently it doesn't have and won't let you control virtual audio channels with its faders (which is important for me as I split game, music, chat and myself on to seperate tracks) - they have said they're looking to implement this feature in a future firmware update but there's no ETA given yet.
So the GoXLR is great but I worry about it's future, where as the Rode isn't quite suited to my needs yet but once it is I'll likely switch as they're a long established audio company with no signs of discontinuing support
The other little device I've mentioned before is the Tube MPC which is a handy compressor / limiter for boost audio without making it distorted (I admittedly haven't used in a while since I finally found some nice settings for the GoXLR that give the same results)
Hope that's helpful 👍
(also ty for the Decked Out love)

My favorite cross-over event in comics, when I was first getting into them, was Acts of Vengeance. It had a great ad, at least — it was the weirdly identifiable feet of a bunch of super villains, standing in a circle around the broken pieces of superheroes’ iconic weapons. The idea was that all the villains were going to switch nemeses, and thus be assured victory (this might have been the case, but came undone thanks to villainous egos). It was pretty stupid. But I liked it better than Secret Wars.
Secret Wars was a big deal, though. Got a toy line. Got a special campaign adventure for the Marvel Super Heroes RPG. In short, The Beyonder, a David Hasselhoff looking dude in a white disco suit, assembles Battleplanet out of the pieces of a bunch of worlds (including Denver?) and then kidnaps a bunch of heroes and villains to makes them fight. I suppose the appeal of this is self-evidence, honestly; I’m just a curmudgeon. Oh, and it’s where Spidey got the black suit.
The module is…well, all of that. A big map of Battleplanet. A whole bunch of attribute blocks for heroes and villains. It’s a battle royale. I mean, it aims to simulate the whole storyline, and accomplishes that through a series of events (some of which are as brief as “Spider Woman shows up”), but it is at heart a battle royale. Players either take the role of one hero, or control a team (and one lucky player gets to be Magneto, since he’s considered a hero here). And they go at it against the GM? Who, in addition to running the villain team, also gets to run Galactus as another faction?
I think I want to run this.

Twin Famicom
NES with internal Disk system from Sharp
The Twin Famicom is a video game console system that was produced by Sharp Corporation in 1986 (Juli 1) and was only released in Japan. It is a licensed Nintendo product that combines the Famicom (NES) and the Famicom Disk System into a single piece of hardware.
The essential parts of the Twin Famicom include a 60-pin socket for Famicom cartridges and a socket for Disk System disks. The player could switch between the two media types with a switch – cassette "カセット" or disk "ディスク" The Twin Famicom is fully compatible with the NES and can handle accessories made for the NES (e.g. Beam Gun). But there is also an extra port on the Twin Famicom. This allows a 'regular' Famicom to use the Twin Famicom's disk drive.
The original Famicom only has one color combination, and the Twin Famicom was initially sold in two colors: red with black highlights (AN-500R), and black with red highlights (AN-500B). A second version of the system was released in 1987 with a slightly different case design, turbo controllers, and two different color schemes; black with green highlights (AN-505-BK) and red with beige highlights (AN-505-RD).
Like the Famicom, the Twin Famicom uses NTSC but with an AV output rather than an RF modulator with an RCA connector for composite video and mono audio, allowing for greater audiovisual quality on TVs and monitors with such inputs. An external RF modulator is bundled with the unit for connection through a TV's antenna/cable input. The two gamepads are hardwired into the console, so they cannot be disconnected.
