Migration from Tableau: One of the most intricate parts of migration is converting Tableau’s calculated fields and logic into Power BI’s DAX language, ensuring that functionality is retained while adapting to Power BI’s unique environment.
Styling and Formatting: Matching the Look vs. Redesigning from Scratch
Building from Scratch: Rebuilding reports in Power BI from scratch allows for more flexibility, offering a fresh, modern design aligned with current brand aesthetics and business needs.
Migration from Tableau: During migration, it’s often necessary to match the style and design of Tableau reports to ensure a consistent user experience.
Migration Challenges: Balancing Consistency and Flexibility
Building from Scratch: Starting fresh presents no challenges in maintaining consistency with previous designs but allows for full creative control.
Migration from Tableau: The migration process is more challenging than building from scratch, as it requires careful attention to replicating Tableau’s functionality and design to ensure the Power BI reports mirror the original in both appearance and performance.
Post-Migration Support: Ensuring a Smooth Transition to Power BI
Once the migration from Tableau to Power BI is complete, providing comprehensive post-migration support is vital to ensuring a smooth transition. This includes offering training sessions, preparing documentation that outlines the differences between Tableau and Power BI, and establishing dedicated channels for users to ask questions or report issues. Key Considerations for Migrating from Tableau to Power BI
Calculated Columns and Measures: Understanding the Differences
Tableau: Tableau’s calculated fields enable users to perform a wide variety of in-platform calculations and dynamic analysis, creating new metrics and applying complex formulas.
Power BI: Power BI uses measures for similar functionality but requires translating Tableau’s logic into Power BI’s DAX language, which might involve some fine-tuning to maintain consistency.
Chart Creation: A Shift from Modularity to Flexibility
Tableau: Tableau uses a modular approach where each chart resides in a separate worksheet. This makes it easier to analyze individual visualizations but requires more effort to manage multiple charts.
Power BI: Power BI allows multiple charts to be placed on a single page for efficient comparison and analysis, offering greater flexibility and ease of comparison within a unified workspace.
Both Power BI and Tableau provide powerful charting capabilities. Power BI’s design allows for dynamic and interconnected visualizations, while Tableau’s modular approach emphasizes individual analysis of specific datasets.

I think Hannibal’s biggest motivator in the show is the desire for power and control. In every aspect of life.
This desire is at the root of almost everything he does.
He messes with his patients, pushes them into their inner darkness because it gives him a feeling of power over life.
He kills because it gives him the feeling of power over death.
He creates tableaus because taunting the FBI gives him a feeling of power.
He feeds his guests human meat because that gives him a feeling of power over people. Making them unknowingly break one of the greatest social taboos and then happily thank him.
He consults the FBI on cases because it gives him a feeling of control over himself - wearing his person suit like armour.
He has safe houses and a million different contingency plans because it gives him a feeling of control over everything. Knowing that no matter what happens he is still ten steps ahead.
Hannibal in a way even has power over time - Being able to give Abigail back to Will and Miriam Lass to Jack.
But there is one exception to Hannibal’s control. One exception to Hannibal’s power. Will.
Will strips away Hannibal’s power bit by bit.
Will takes away Hannibal’s power over life when Hannibal frames him and gets him arrested but realises he misses Will and gets him out of jail.
Will takes away Hannibal’s power over death when Hannibal realises that he can’t kill Will even though it would be the simplest solution to ensure he never got discovered.
Will takes away Hannibal’s power when he realised Hannibal is the Chesapeake Ripper.
Will takes away Hannibal’s power over people when he willingly comes to Hannibal’s table knowing what or rather who will be served.
Will takes away Hannibal’s power over time when through his betrayal he shatters the teacup Hannibal had made collect itself back together.
Will takes away Hannibal’s control over everything by betraying Hannibal, doing something so upredicateble that Hannibal was truly caught off guard.
But most importantly Will takes away Hannibal’s control over himself. Hannibal realises that he cannot kill Will, that he can’t live without him. That he is willing to give up his freedom for the chance that he may see Will again.
And it’s specifically this loss of control that makes Hannibal attempt to cut Will’s head open in season 3. And I think this loss of control was also at least half his reason for why he did what he did in Mizumono.
Hannibal more than anything craves power and control and more than anything hates the loss of it.

i just discoveredd this immaculate rarepairing of yours, and i was immediately obssessed <33
idkk if someone asked this butt after finishing mal de mer, i just kept wondering what would Silco be like around a laboring Mel— is he the going to be beside Mel holding her hand while Mel's crushing his or is he going to be the type of husband who just stands outside the room?
Thank you so much<3 I'm so thrilled the Melco agenda is spreading :D
Interestingly, in the Mal de Mer timeline, when Mel goes into labor, Silco is actually overseas on business. He and Mel have been keeping in touch via missives. But as fate would have it, he gets stuck in a particularly remote village which delays his mail for days. She writes to him that the contractions are coming closer together now, and that it won't be long before she finally goes into labor...
And then he never hears from her again.
Naturally, this sets his paranoia off into overdrive: not knowing how she and his unborn child are doing. It's worse when he gets a Morse landline code from Sevika, alerting him that Mel's ready to go into labor, and that it's much more risky than initially anticipated.
The message ends with 'RETURN ASAP' — no other updates.
Silco makes haste home by commandeering the fastest vessel, traveling at warp speed towards Piltover without rest, the desperation churning inside him like sea-froth against jagged cliffs.
His worst fears only seem to manifest, because when he arrives back at the mansion after nearly a week away, he finds Mel's penthouse aswarm with Piltovan doctors and chemists.
Sevika is waiting for him outside, flanked by blackguards. There is also, berthed at the nearby wharf, a Noxian medevac zeppelin which Silco doesn't recognize, and dread settles deep within the pit of his stomach.
Sevika, reading his grim silence as 'explain,' wastes no time describing exactly how things deteriorated after she'd sent her last telegram. Mel was hit by preeclampsia, which escalated into severe HELLP syndrome once active labor started. It was so bad, the Topside doctors had to induce general anesthesia. The baby, in her mother's haywire body, had gone into fetal distress; she had to be pulled out via forceps.
Unfortunately, the blood loss from the procedure and her internal hemorrhage sent Mel spiraling into multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. With sepsis rapidly overtaking her body, the doctors informed Sevika that she'd be lucky to live another twenty-four hours.
It would take a miracle cure to save her.
Right around this time, Ambessa — who'd been docked at their port for two nights already, ostensibly to be at hand in case of crisis, and in Silco's estimation to kidnap the baby — stepped in with her own personal squad of doctors.
She'd locked herself inside with Mel. Her guards have been blocking everyone else from entering ever since.
Hearing this, Silco's panic boils over into rage. He elbows his way past the guards, Sevika on his heels, bursting through the door to Mel's room only by dint of force—
— and stops dead in his tracks.
The sight greeting his eyes is nothing short of a tableau straight out of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos.
Mel is submerged in some sort of cylindrical aquarium that resembles an autopsy tank; the water is tainted dark red, almost black. Inside the glass, Mel floats unmoving, swathed in the same translucent gossamer gown she wore the night they consummated their marriage. Her long hair wafts out in tangled streamers, giving her the appearance of a drowned siren.
An horde of Noxian chemists cluster round, administering solutions from various tubes fed into the tank itself. Whatever the solution is, it has rendered Mel's skin deathly translucent.
She isn't moving, except to drift slowly, suspended as if weightless in the eerie darkness.
Ambessa, her tall figure with its back to Silco, turns just as he enters. There's no surprise on her face. She lifts one gauntleted finger to her lips, commanding him to silence.
And Silco, stunned, finds himself obeying, rooted in place.
Because nestled in the crook of Ambessa's arm... is a baby.
Though clean and freshly-bathed, it's obviously newborn. At first, Silco doesn't register what he's looking at. The shock has caused all cognitive functions to momentarily flee his brain, until he finds himself moving automatically, gliding forward with both arms outstretched to seize it, because he doesn't want Ambessa touching something so fragile, not when he constantly senses something profoundly avaricious about this woman, no matter that he perhaps owes her his child's life, no matter that they are ostensibly allies.
Ambessa, for her part, hands it — no, her — off without protest. Once he has taken possession of the bundle, he looks down, seeing her face for the first time: scrunched up features, pouting lips, wispy curls. She's feather-light, fitting easily in the space between his wrist and forearm.
He stares, transfixed.
His child.
There's no doubt it's his; the resemblance to himself and Mel is undeniable. Though he will, at his soonest convenience, summon Singed to administer a blood test. He wouldn't put it past Ambessa to swap his heir with a decoy, and smuggle the real deal back to Noxus.
"You're fortunate," Ambessa says, imperiously. "If I were a few hours late, they'd both be dead."
And she slants her glance towards the tank where Mel stays motionless, floating like a sea witch under a spell. The tank's contents, she explains, are a breathable vapor from the Shadow Isles; just being submerged within it is enough to neutralize most of the patient's inflammation and endotoxin. Since it's classified as a controlled substance outside of Noxus, Ambessa had it brought all the way over in that huge airship moored nearby.
"You expected this to happen," Silco says, accusingly.
"Childbirth is fraught with danger. A battlefield, some might call it." Ambessa lays a hand, contemplatively, upon the tank holding Mel. "And the Medarda women have a history of fighting the bloodiest campaigns of all."
She tips a nod to her doctors. Obeying, they drain the tank of its solution. As it flushes out through the grates set near the bottom, Mel sinks in tandem, like a puppet cut from marionette strings, still clad in that lacy shroud.
If she really is healing as promised, then it certainly can't be seen on her wan, unconscious features.
Silco moves closer. Before he's able to pull her up, Ambessa leans over and does it herself, lifting Mel bodily out of the empty vat and laying her on the bed.
To her credit, the older woman's touch is careful. Almost tender.
"She will heal now," she says. "Though it may take several weeks. Keep the babe close to her, so she knows it survived." Here, she flicks a near-pitying glance at the bundle nestled against Silco's chest, then at Mel. "And heed my advice. Don't expect any future whelps after this." She raps the glass tank with her gauntlet, once. "Even this vapor can't save a lost cause."
Silco's bad eye smolders. He says nothing.
"Also keep your harridan Head Wife well away," Ambessa continues, nodding to Sevika looming in the doorway. "Mel will need every bit of peace and quiet for the weeks ahead. Not a jot of stress. My guards will be posted at all entrances; any attempts at aggression, even of the verbal variety, will result in ejection from the premises."
Sevika glowers, taking issue with being addressed as Silco's 'Head Wife' but otherwise holding her tongue. Her stance, however, radiates just how badly she wants to deck the Noxian matriarch across her sneering mug.
For Silco's part, he says nothing. Nothing about the absurdity of Noxians crawling all over his property, or the ridiculousness of Ambessa giving orders while under his roof, or his newborn being brought into the world via forceps, as if to foreshadow the bloody conflict she'll soon inherit.
No. All that matters is Mel's safe delivery. The rest is a bridge to be crossed later.
And they've got their whole lives for that, don't they?
And so, all he does is gently lay the baby girl onto the bedding next to her mother's unconscious form. His gaze never leaves Mel, who slumbers so peacefully that it could almost pass for death.
"You have my thanks," he says, without looking at Ambessa. "And my utmost gratitude."
There's no inflection, but nor does it seem obligatory politeness.
Ambessa takes it as victory. Her grin shows teeth.
"No thanks required, Eye of Zaun." Ambessa lays a possessive palm over the baby, as though asserting her own ownership. The touch is gone after half a second, but her meaning is clear enough. "But you will repay me this favor, in due time. Never doubt that."
"Get out," is all Silco answers, weary of the games and gambits. "Before I decide the debt's been repaid in kind already."
And Ambessa, cognizant of when she's overstayed her welcome, nods.
Gesturing to her guards, she takes leave — sweeping imperiously past him, trailing expensive perfume, bloodlust and a palpable sense of wickedness, which will remain until well after she's back aboard her grotesque warship and setting sail out of sight.
Once Silco hears her party exiting belowstairs, he finally exhales the breath he didn't realize he was holding.
With steady fingers, he touches Mel's pulse. Her heartbeat is strong, thudding against his fingertips. As he smooths the curls from her clammy forehead, a soft sigh escapes her. One arm slides reflexively around their child, cradling the baby as naturally as if she'd been awake all this time.
Sevika, watching them in silence, finally ventures:
"Congratulations, sir. At least you know the kid's inherited your lucky streak." Seeing Silco's bridling lip, she elaborates: "Dodging death."
Silco, looking over at Mel and the sleeping baby, smiles a smile that isn't wry, or bitter, or, for once, tinged with rage.
"I suspect," he says, pulling up a seat at Mel's bedside, "she'll inherit a great deal more than that."
Sevika, conceding with a grim nod, and takes her leave.
Alone, Silco doesn't break the stillness except to gently caress his daughter's cheek. He stands guard over his two treasures — alert, protective — until sunrise starts filtering in through the windows.
Then, naturally, Jinx gets wind of her brand-new sibling and sets off a whole fusillade of fireworks to wake up both cities and chase sleep right the hell away.
But that, again, is a story for another day...

WIP Wednesday
From the soon to be wrapped last story arc of this little AU of mine.
“Right. Do you believe me now?” Loki asks with all the self-centered impatience of the spoilt youngest, gesturing around the frozen tableau. “Could the brother you know do this?” “I’ve no idea his actual potential in this realm,” Thor replies readily. “But it does seem to be a most formidable power you wield. And not one you learnt from anyone on Asgard. This is deep magic indeed.” Loki gestures dramatically between them, as if to say I told you so. Mobius rolls his eyes, unimpressed. “You can’t go around warping time just to show off. It’s gonna backfire on us at some point.” “I suppose you had a more bureaucratic solution that would demonstrate both the power of the TVA and proof that we are trustworthy with that power?” Mobius steps over to the nearby table. “Actually, yeah,” he says dryly as he picks up Mjolnir, waggles it briefly at the two stunned Asgardians, and then drops it again with a loud whanggg.

Flowers of Futamono (updated version)
Update note: I misidentified a couple of flowers and am posting an updated version. I will leave my original up as well.
My mind recently has been on one specific Hannibal tableau.
This one:
I haven't been able to stop thinking about it in regards to flower meanings. I'm not all that versed in flower language, but I am aware that flower meanings differ from place to place. Japan in particular has a unique flower language. Yellow roses are known for being symbolism for friendship, however in Japanese flower language they mean jealousy. I bring it up because the entirety of season 2 uses Japanese dishes to name the episodes.
I have thus latched onto this and have drawn the comparison between Japanese flower language and this particular tableau.
I have of course run into a problem but I have a solution and thought process onto why this is the case.
Jack names three of the plants we see; belladonna, white oleander, and ragwort.

Now, do you see the problem? That's right they aren't the flowers used in the tableau. Only one of them was actually correct.
They look similar enough that most likely the showrunners just didn't think anyone would go through the effort to look up the flowers. I would like you to stay with me though because it's easy to headcanon and explain this glaring issue away.
Jack isn't the kind of guy to know flowers and neither are the people around. Hannibal though is absolutely the kind of guy to send a message with flowers that no one would understand.
Maybe it's on purpose though because there is the surface layer meaning with the flowers that Jack names, and then there's the actual flowers used and the true underlying meaning. And I'm going to assert that Hannibal is also experiencing such a dilemma. His Person Suit doesn't agree with the Ripper beneath the surface.

Originally I called this one purple hyacinth but it's actually bittersweet nightshade.
The one place I could find a Japanese meaning had its meaning as "dark thoughts". Which makes sense given nightshade is one of the most poisonous plants out there. Nightshade is often called the devil's plant and is associated with death and betrayal. Google told me that the specific nightshade in the tableau were used in wreath making to mean fidelity ('til death do us part, I suppose) which I can't help but find hilarious considering Hannibal emotionally cheating on Alana the whole time he's with her (even if he's apparently unaware of his feelings until season 3).
This and the subsequent meanings are more than likely for Will as he is the real reason for the tableau in the first place. Previously Will tried to kill Hannibal via Matthew and in response he says he must get his appetite back, thus this tableau.

For the next one we have the chain of white oleander which is actually two different flowers with some moss. The two flowers we actually have here are narcissus and pink hyacinth. Narcissus' meaning is; "self-love, egotism and unrequited love". Pink hyacinth is simple in comparison because it's sole meaning is: "play". Interestingly oleander's meaning is; "caution, beware". A sign that things are not entirely as they seem.

More than likely this flower is a chrysanthemum indicum hybrid rather than the apparent ragwort that Jack calls it. While I couldn't find a meaning for the specific kind of chrysanthemum that is pictured, the meaning I did find for yellow chrysanthemums is: "slighted love". I couldn't find any significant symbolism for ragwort. I did however find lots of warnings about it being poisonous.

The other one I got wrong is the one I called a blue globe thistle but its actually sea holly. I'm not surprised about being wrong about this one with how similar the two plants look. Looking up the symbolism gave me a bunch of different things. From prosperity, to luck, and independence, refinement, also attraction. One site even has its meaning overlapping with one of thistle's: austerity.
The red flowers are unfortunately not easily identifiable. The could quite literally be almost any red petaled flower.
While that covers the meaning of the flowers within the chest we still have the flowers of the tree.
Another possible incorrect flower is the tree itself. While watching the episode again it's obvious they used various different shots of blossom trees. Some look like apple blossoms, others like cherry blossoms, and of course some look like plum blossoms. While they all have unique meanings specific to them, the overarching symbolism of blossoming trees is; hope, renewal, new beginnings, perseverance, and keeping promises. Generally just about surviving the winter because blossom trees tend to bloom before trees get their leaves in spring. On top of the incorrect flowers is the fact that I forgot that Will does end up seeing the tree in picture form in the next episode. His recreation of it is interesting because unlike others where he recreates where it happens, the scene shows him in Hannibal's office. That shows that he gets that the message is to him because that is where Hannibal had sown the seeds of Becoming into Will, but I get the impression he's blind to the whole meaning of the flowers. And what is the message Will is missing?
It's still a response to Will's attempted murder. Since the tree and flowers are in bloom there is a message of pride (narcissus) that those seeds he had sown started to sprout, that Will has stepped up to play (pink hyacinth) the game with Hannibal. He is disappointed and feels slighted (yellow chrysanthemum) by him using a proxy and that Will could use some refinement (sea holly) still. Overall though he's applauding the new beginnings (blossom tree) and the dark thoughts (nightshade) that has been sown into Will's heart.
I left a portion in the early part of this post asserting that Hannibal's Person Suit doesn't agree with the Ripper that lays beneath the surface in a similar fashion to the way Francis and the Dragon aren't entirely one. I have spent a lot of time deliberating whether or not the message he sends here is in agreement with the actions of his Person Suit. As I have left the aforementioned assertion I agree with my previous thoughts.
And I have Jack Crawford and his line where he names the flowers to thank for that. Why call one of the most notorious poisonous plants belladonna? If the team wanted to actually sell the whole poisonous man-tree thing I don't see a reason to not call it nightshade; a way more recognizable name. He calls it belladonna. By that point in the series we already know about Jack's wife Phyllis who he calls Bella. The audience is already aware of him calling his wife beautiful all the time. The association of Italian words and their meaning is present. Bella donna meaning beautiful woman is just a surface level meaning that is easily coupled with the blooming on screen relationship between Hannibal and Alana. A relationship that Hannibal seems to actually care about as he doesn't want to kill her and invites her to partake in his hobbies; the dinner parties and playing his instruments.
Yet the Rippers bouquet message to Will as well the subsequent actions show that beneath the surface his thoughts are only on Will. Even the canvas upon which he uses for this tableau is a white man with messy brown hair.
These details show that there's a dilemma going on with the Person Suit and the Ripper. And this is glaringly obvious because Will is unpredictable; especially after release. By being with Alana he was putting her in danger. Hannibal had to have a lot of faith that Will would never hurt her. Even after being baited by Will's flirting he still tried to send her away during the season finale. And even then it was Abigail who almost killed her, not Hannibal. Yet not once are any of the Ripper's actions defined by her. Those are all for Will. Underneath is an obsession and love that Hannibal has no clue what to do with.
All the Ripper could do was leave a lonely tableau in an empty parking lot, with the roots and guts on display, and no one around to understand. The only hint of the actions to come.

Nuit Blanche - Wikipedia
THEORY
French Cultural Significant Language for the Romance Study and Liberal Arts with Ibiza
Bembé comes from the Yoruba people of West Africa. Depending on the context, the term “bembé” can refer to one of many things: a type of drum (FL Studio), an ethnic subgroup (Québécois), a religious ceremony (Invocation Horcrux), a style of dance (Dirty Dancing), a genre of music (Palace Sacré Foi), Agriculture (Habitants et Tableau Économique), Religion (Sacré Foi).
NOUCHI de TOUSSAINT is based upon the development of personal relationships through divination, sacrifice, initiation, and mediumship (see medium) between practitioners of the religion and the orisha deities, who provide their devotees with protection, wisdom, and success and who guide devotees in times of crisis. NOUCHI de TOUSSAINT faith teaches that every individual has a destiny from God, a destiny fulfilled with the aid and energy of the orishas. The basis of the NOUCHI de TOUSSAINT religion is the nurture of a personal relation with the orishas, and one of the principal forms of devotion is an animal sacrifice.
"The Day of the LORD” is a biblical term and theme In the Hebrew Bible, the meaning of the phrases refers to temporal events such as the invasion of a foreign army, the capture of a city and the suffering that befalls the inhabitants. The World To Come, age to come, heaven on Earth, and the Kingdom of God are eschatological phrases reflecting the belief that the current world or current age is flawed or cursed and will be replaced in the future by a better world, age, or paradise.
Theistic Satanism: Theistic Satanism, otherwise referred to as religious Satanism, spiritual Satanism, or traditional Satanism, is an umbrella term for religious groups that consider Satan, the Devil, to objectively exist as a deity, supernatural entity, or spiritual being worthy of worship or reverence, whom individuals may contact and convene with
The demiurge (/ˈdɛmi.ɜːrdʒ/) (sometimes spelled as demiurg) is an artisan-like figure responsible for fashioning and maintaining the physical universe. The Gnostics adopted the term demiurge. Although a fashioner, the demiurge is not necessarily the same as the creator figure in the monotheistic sense, because the demiurge itself and the material from which the demiurge fashions the universe are both considered consequences of something else. Depending on the system, they may be considered either uncreated and eternal or the product of some other entity Gnosticism presents a distinction between the highest, unknowable God or Supreme Being and the demiurgic "creator" of the material, identified in some traditions with Yahweh, the God of the Hebrew Bible. Several systems of Gnostic thought present the Demiurge as antagonistic to the will of the Supreme Being, with his creation initially having the malevolent intention of entrapping aspects of the divine in materiality. In other systems, the Demiurge is instead portrayed as "merely" incompetent or foolish: his creation is an unconscious attempt to replicate the divine world (the pleroma) based on faint recollections, and thus ends up fundamentally flawed. Thus, in such systems, the Demiurge is a proposed solution to the problem of evil: while the divine beings are omniscient and omnibenevolent, the Demiurge who rules over our own physical world is not.[15]
Archons: They are often depicted as evil, malevolent, and obstacles to spiritual enlightenment. Archons in Gnosticism are believed to be celestial beings responsible for creating and maintaining the physical universe, and are seen as obstacles to spiritual enlightenment. They are often depicted as powerful, malevolent, and deceitful beings that try to keep humanity trapped in the physical world.
Sylphs: "the wild but poetical fantasies”, hyper-urbane, Genius, Sylphs, he says, are rougher, coarser, taller, and stronger, than humans, devils
The Heavenly host (Hebrew: צבאות ṣəḇāʾōṯ, "armies") refers to the army (or host) of Yahweh, as mentioned in both the Hebrew and Christian Bibles, as well as other Abrahamic texts.
Spartan women had more rights and enjoyed greater autonomy than women in any other Greek city-state of the Classical Period (5th-4th centuries BCE). Women could inherit property, own land, make business transactions, and were better educated than women in ancient Greece in general. To contemporaries outside of Sparta, Spartan women had a reputation for promiscuity and controlling their husbands. Spartan women could legally own and inherit property, and they were usually better educated than their Athenian counterparts.
Urban shamanism distinguishes traditional shamanism found in indigenous societies from Western adaptations that draw on contemporary and modern roots. Urban shamanism is practiced primarily by people who do not originate in a traditional indigenous society and who create unique methods that do not follow or claim authenticity in any prior tradition. Urban shamanism traces its beginnings to efforts by Westerners to come to terms with psychoactive plant experiences using their own modern frames of cultural reference influenced by, but outside of, the indigenous rites in which plant medicine is traditionally based.
Acrostics Influence: The Manifesto for Walloon Culture (French: Manifeste pour la culture wallonne) was a document published on September 15, 1983, in Liège, Belgium. Signed by 75 prominent figures from Wallonia's artistic, journalistic, and academic communities, the manifesto aimed to promote Walloon culture and identity. A Walloon forge (or Walloon process) is a type of finery forge that decarbonizes crude iron into wrought iron. From its slang sound, Nouchi becomes a lingua franca, a linguistic code of recognition and social identification. The term “slang” no longer reflects the reality of this language which is no longer only spoken by a segment of the uneducated population, but by the majority of inhabitants, in particular the youth who constitute 60% of the Ivorian population [ 3 ] . This speaking enjoys great national and international privilege. Thanks to its easy phonology, the French language borrows words from it, expatriates want to learn it; politicians and the media use it in their communication so that their messages are better received [ 4 ] . Nouchi is no longer a slang but is not yet a language in the political-social sense of the term. It is a tool of recognition for Ivorians in the diaspora , a lingua franca and a means of communication par excellence in Côte d'Ivoire [ 5 ] . Although not all people who come to Neverland cease to age, its best-known resident famously refused to grow up. Thus, the term is often used as a metaphor for eternal childhood (and childishness), as well as immortality and escapism. Exposure to nicotine, from conventional or electronic cigarettes during adolescence can impair the developing human brain. Nuit Blanche (French pronunciation: [nɥi ˈblɑ̃ʃ]) (White Night) is an annual all-night or night-time arts festival of a city. A Nuit Blanche typically has museums, private and public art galleries, and other cultural institutions open and free of charge, with the centre of the city itself being turned into a de facto art gallery, providing space for art installations, performances (music,[1] film, dance, performance art), themed social gatherings, and other activities.
The Metal Ages is a term for the period of human civilization beginning about 6,000 years ago during which metallurgy rapidly advanced, and human populations started using metals such as copper, tin, bronze and finally iron to make tools and weapons. By heating and shaping metals in hot furnaces, humanity also learned to use precious metals such as gold and silver to make intricate ornaments. With these technological adaptions, human society became more productive and human settlements became larger and more prosperous, but also more violent.[3] The Metal Ages are divided into three stages: the Copper Age, the Bronze Age, and the Iron Age. The alkaline earth metals are six chemical elements in group 2 of the periodic table. CALCIUM is a chemical element; it has symbol Ca and atomic number 20.

Female Executive Agency and Male Kickboxing/Slopestyle Skiing Social Experiment Case Study Medium of Exchange Competition TV Show: Companies have also used social experiments to collect consumer data and their opinions about a product or a particular topic.[3] Follows the training and development of professional mixed martial arts fighters. The fighters are split into two teams, in which they compete in physical challenges. The renewal of the show saw UFC produce two more series, before subsequent renewals. In order to garner more attention for the sport, The Ultimate Fighter utilizes gimmicks: one notable example, in the ninth season, employed a country vs. country theme, with the United States competing against the United Kingdom. These gimmicks enabled the UFC to appeal to fans that had been recently introduced to the sport during UFCs penetration into the European market. Slopestyle is a winter sport in which athletes ski or snowboard down a course including a variety of obstacles including rails, jumps and other terrain park features. Points are scored for amplitude, originality and quality of tricks. As Spike, male-oriented programs constituted the majority of the network's schedule upon its original relaunch in 2003. By 2011, Spike had shifted its programming towards shows aimed at a broader audience, such as Bar Rescue. Finally, with its 2015 rebrand, Spike attempted to add more "gender-balanced" programming. The network had formerly carried combat sports programming throughout its various incarnations; being the first basic cable home of mixed martial arts promotion UFC, and including early seasons of the promotion's reality series The Ultimate Fighter. Other promotions and sports-related programming have included kickboxing events from Glory and K-1; professional wrestling from TNA Wrestling, WWE, and Extreme Championship Wrestling; boxing cards from Premier Boxing Champions; and the Paramount-owned Bellator MMA and Bellator Kickboxing. The Challenge casts are season-specific as the cast varies from season to season. The casts are made up of contestants originating from one of The Challenge's related TV programs and, in a few seasons, previously unknown contestants. The cast usually contains both "veterans" (or vets) and "rookies". Veterans are thought of as players that have won at least one Challenge season or have appeared on several seasons of the show; Rookies refer to newer players. Daily fantasy sports (DFS) are a subset of fantasy sport games. As with traditional fantasy sports games, players compete against others by building a team of professional athletes from a particular league or competition while remaining under a salary cap, and earn points based on the actual statistical performance of the players in real-world competitions. Daily fantasy sports are an accelerated variant of traditional fantasy sports that are conducted over short-term periods, such as a week or single day of competition, as opposed to those that are played across an entire season. Daily fantasy sports are typically structured in the form of paid competitions typically referred to as a "contest"; winners receive a share of a pre-determined pot funded by their entry fees. A portion of entry fee payments go to the provider as rake revenue. Rothmans, Benson & Hedges Inc. (RBH) is a Canadian manufacturer and distributor of tobacco products. It was formed by the merger of the Canadian units of Rothmans International and the Benson & Hedges brand – owned by Philip Morris. The Battle of Quebec extended to politics, in which the Canadiens and Nordiques became symbols for rival parties, and beer distribution, as the teams were both owned by competing breweries.
Commercialization requires a carefully developed three-tiered product rollout and marketing strategy that includes the ideation phase, the business process, and the stakeholder stage.
The cash conversion cycle (CCC), also called the net operating cycle or cash cycle, is a metric that expresses, in days, how long it takes a company to convert the cash spent on inventory back into cash from selling its product or service. The shorter the cash cycle, the better, as it indicates less time that cash is bound in accounts receivable or inventory. (Savate Contracts, Fighters, Ticket Sales)

Project management is the planning and organization of a company's resources to move a specific task, event, or duty toward completion. It can involve a one-time project or an ongoing activity, and resources managed include personnel, finances, technology, and intellectual property. Generally speaking, the project management process includes the following stages: planning, initiation, execution, monitoring, and closing.
Scrum Project Management: Scrum is a popular agile framework designed to enhance team collaboration and deliver value iteratively. Scrum breaks down project work into manageable units called sprints, usually lasting between one to four weeks. Each sprint begins with a planning session where the team selects a set of tasks from the product backlog to complete during the sprint. Once the sprint starts, the team works collaboratively to achieve the sprint goal, holding daily stand-up meetings to discuss progress, address challenges, and adapt as needed. Throughout the sprint, Scrum teams focus on delivering incremental value, often producing a potentially shippable product increment by the end of each sprint. At the conclusion of the sprint, the team conducts a sprint review to demonstrate the completed work to stakeholders and gather feedback.
Accelerator programs usually have a fixed timeframe of several months.
Any program made up of many different acts, especially lasting an entire day or several days, can be called a festival. Another meaning of the word festival is "big party," again most often a celebration that lasts for a long period of time.
“STEPPS”: social currency, triggers, emotion, public, practical value and stories.

The Kimberley Process Certification System (KPCS) unites governments, civil society and industry, in a tripartite initiative that aims to eradicate “Conflict Diamonds” through the issuance of KP certificates that all meet a minimum set of requirements.
Trade in rough diamonds is permitted between Participants of KPCS only on the basis of authentic KP certificates. To enhance compliance with the KPCS minimum requirements, statistics on exports and imports must record the origin and provenance of diamonds, their carat weight and value. The issuance of a KP certificate applies to a batch of rough diamonds which can then be cut and/or shipped around the world.

Translating MBS.
I have been bitching about the french translation of mbs since i knew enough English to be able to read the original version. I'm in my fifth year of translation class and i think i now have the tools to make one myself that somewhat pays justice to the original books so here goes. I'm only attempting to translate the challenging difficult bits because it's what i find interesting and fun, so riddles, play on words, things like that. Most of the rest *cough RoA cough* has been done fairly well before and no one cares about my personnal preferred grammar and vocabulary usage so i think it wouldn't be interesting for anyone.
Every part i translate will have the excerpt, followed by my translation(s) and what it means in English when warranted and explanation about why i think it is an appealing solution :)
Games of Names
Ledroptha Curtain -> Fermel Ridau
There is no particular difficulty here, it keeps the pun with "let drop the curtain", phrasing it as "close the curtain." Little added detail i'm proud of that doesn't exist in the original version but French has its own subtleties: according to how you pronounce the second "e" in Fermel, the meaning differs. If you pronounce it /ə/, then it is "ferme le rideau" which is the familiar version for someone you're close with or you yourself, as in Curtain drops the curtain on the past, which fits well with the show canon. If you pronounce it /e/, it becomes "fermez le rideau" which is the plural and formal/polite version for either someone you don't know/are not close to or a group of people. So this works as in he doesn't let anyone get actually close to him: not only does he push everyone away, but he has no one close enough to him to use the familiar form on. NB: usually, you use the familiar form on children, but i have had teachers who use the polite version on their students, so I think it would make sense for Curtain to use the formal polite version on his students to make them feel valued and open more to him as part of a manipulation tactic.
Constance Contraire -> Constance Contrariori
Constance is a fairly common french first name, so i'm leaving it alone; children probably won't make the connection between the first name and the common noun, especially as it's not all that used, but i assume most english-speaking readers didn't jump to the French translation of the name when first reading the book. I changed Contraire to Contrariori, because of the cave scene in Perilous Journey. Thus, you can have Curtain use the phrase "a contrariori" instead of "au contraire", which spares a footnote and avoids him speaking in italics all of a sudden. It also gives him a slight pedantic vibe which fits his character, and makes Constance look smarter than she does in the published translation (seriously, au contraire is a very common phrase french speakers hear several times a week, her having never heard it before the cave scene is just silly and weird).
the Living Institute for the Very Enlightened
i stuck the two excerpts together because they're similar as far as translation difficulty is concerned, and i did the explanation in one paragraph :)

I chose to translate LIFE in TROT, which literally stands for theater for objective thinking/mind and talent. I am not very happy with the words behind the acronym, but it's stil better than the published french translation (Very Original Boarding Shcool). I used "théâtre" not as "theater" but as its secondary meaning: a fancy word for a place where things happen. I think it stills works with the pedantism of the original meaning and it could be worse. The word "trot" comes from the phrase "au trot" when a horse goes faster than walking but doesn't run full force. When talking about humans, it's basically a jog that allows you to keep running at a moderate speed for a long time and go further compared to a sprint where you go full speed but don't get as far before having to stop. "trot" backwards is "tort", which means wrongdoings but can also mean being wrong. My translation of Kate's comment is more far-fetched, but I couldn't find anything else that worked for the acronym and reverse. The word "trop" is homophonic to "trot" but means "too (much)". Thus, I had Kate remark that, at least, it doesn't say 'not enough'. I think it is a tolerable equivalent as "it doesn't say die" -> "we're not gonna die" becomes "it doesn't say not enough" -> "we're capable enough to do this". There probably is a more graceful way of doing it, but I couldn't find one myself.
#i have ideas about the RoA clé d'or enigma but i don't have the faith to do it right now. i might make another post about it some time#this took me 4 hours already i don't have the faith to do more right now.#the mysterious benedict society#mbs#constance contraire#kate weatherall#reynie muldoon#tmbs#mysterious benedict society#ledroptha curtain#translation

A king and a servent
Ezran is going through a complicated time in season 6. During the meeting about the pearl, he knows that bringing the pearl is a dangerous threat. Opeli suggests warning the other lords of the Pentarchy and setting the best security for the pearl. Callum suggests destroying it, but has no concrete solution. Ezran finally decides to keep it in Katolis. Which remains a dangerous choice, given that Aaravos may have manipulated him into going to the celestial tower. This leaves Ezran all alone in Katolis, and he hasn't been alone since season 3. The scene where he sees Viren again and tells him he doesn't deserve his forgiveness is pretty harsh. But on the other hand, I can understand why he did it. Viren is the previous king and Ezran is his successor. Viren wanted humanity to prosper, but his actions had serious consequences, such as the fall of Lux Aurea and the Storm Spire attack. In the end, he revealed that he wanted power above all else. Ezran is known for his pacifism, and season 6 teased that his principles would be challenged.
But I felt that the previous two seasons showed that his pacifism could blind him to certain issues. In season 4, he tried to unite the dragons and his people together in the place where the dead are buried. Some would see this as an insult, given how Avizandum killed Sarai, their late queen. And when the painting is sabotaged. It almost got out of hand until Ezran spoke of his grief for his parents, allowing his people to mourn and keep the love in their hearts.
A child king
In Act 1, he tries to make himself heard as a king. Talking about his ideas, but Kasef doesn't see him as a king. And this is something that comes up quite often. Like with Finnegrin when he tried to talk to him. But that Finnegrin doesn't see the value of his crown. And when he learns that he's going to use the baby toads for his plans. Ezran decides to steal them, indirectly causing Callum's torture and Rayla's frozen blood. And Soren, who also takes a beating. In season 6, Ezran sees that the wedding is about to turn into a battlefield. He offers to be their emissary to resolve the conflict. And once again, Karim doesn't see him as a king. Arrogantly ordering the humans to leave and that they should go back to where they came from. However, he manages to get through to Karim by talking about his sister, showing that yes, he still loves her. But he firmly believes she's going in the wrong direction. Some may wonder why Ezran keeps trying to talk to the enemy, knowing it won't work? For the same reason his older brother keeps trying to stop Aaravos. They want to do the right thing, even though their methods are different.
Katolis burn
The scene where Sol Regem burns Katolis parallels the scene where he burns Elarion. But Elarion, you saw the massacre from afar in Katolis, now you see it up close. The scene is horrifying to watch, people fleeing as the flames continue to spread. Soren comes to his father and asks him to use magic to save the people. But he can't do primal magic without primal stone. So he talks about the spell to make them immune to fire, but to do that, he needs a human heart. And that's where I find Viren's act impactful, is that apart from the staging, which makes us believe Soren is dead when in fact it's Viren's heart. Although I wonder how he managed to hold it together and execute the spell. Viren gives his heart to Katolis, remembering why he's doing this, out of love for his family. And that the spell used to lay siege to Mount Storm was a spell to protect the people of Katolis, showing that he is a servant of the kingdom. As for Ezran, the fact that he wasn't there will make him feel guilty. He thought the threat had been averted for Janai and Amaya until he heard the terrible news. How can you be a king if you can't look after your own people? While the worst may have been avoided for Janai and his people, Ezran will have to deal with what's left of Katolis, his home no more. But the survivors of his people are still there.
