The Reality of the Blind-Follower
And ʿAbd Allah b. Muʿtamar said: “There is no difference between an animal submitted (to its shepherd) and a person who does taqlīd.” Follow The Texts, Not The Imam

if u don’t follow a madhab, what do u follow? sunnah and quran?? they’re schools of thought and foundations to how we live
In no where in the quran and sunnah does it say that it's compulsory to follow a madhab. If anyone claims otherwise then being forth your evidence. The four imams did not want people to blind follow them nor did they stablish their Madhab nor did they accept others to establish madhabs after them. They've said that their madhab is the hadiths and if their opinion goes against the hadiths then to disregard their opinion and follow the hadith. If someone wants to follow one of the four imams and follows their ijtihad then there's no problem in this. But if someone claims that the only correct madhab is their madhab and whoever follows another madhab or doesn't follow a madhab is misguided then this is an incorrect view. Whoever wants to follow one of these Imams then by all means go for it. There shouldn't be any separation between Muslims simply for Fiqh issues, this is wrong.
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah was asked regarding Taqleed of a Madhhab.
What do the leading religious scholars say about a man who is asked “What is your madhhab?”and he says, “Muhammadi;
I follow the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger Muhammad ”
When it is said that every believer should follow a madhhab, and whoever does not have a madhhab is a devil, he says: What was the madhhab of Abu Bakr as-Siddeeq and the caliphs after him?
And it is said to him: you must follow one of these madhhabs. Which of them is in the right?
He replied:
All that people are required to do is obey Allah and His Messenger.
About those who are in authority, whom Allah instructed the people to obey in the words: “Obey Allah and obey the Messenger), and those of you who are in authority” [an-Nisa’ 4:59], it is only obligatory to obey them within the framework of obedience to Allah and His Messenger, and not independently of that.
Then Allah says: “(And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is more suitable for final determination” [an-Nisa’ 4:59].
If the Muslim is faced with a novel issue, then he must ask someone who he believes will give him a verdict based on the laws of Allah and His Messenger, no matter what his madhhab is.
It is not required of any Muslim to follow a particular scholar in all that he says, and it is not required of any Muslim to adhere to the madhhab of any specific individual other than the Messenger in all that he enjoins and says.
Rather anyone’s view may be accepted or rejected, except that of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).
As for a person following the madhhab of a particular individual because he is unable to learn about the rulings of Islam except through him, this is acceptable, but it is not something that is obligatory for everyone, If one can learn about the rulings of Islam by other means. Rather each individual is required to fear Allah as much as he can and seek knowledge of what is enjoined by Allah and His Messenger, so that he may do what is enjoined and refrain from what is forbidden.
And Allah knows best.

Follow The Proof, Not The People
1. (Imām Aḥmad said): “Do not follow my opinion; neither follow the opinion of Mālik, nor Shāfīʿī'i, nor Awzāʿī, nor Thawrī, but take from where they took (i.e Qurʿan and Sunnah).” 1- " لا تقلدني، ولا تقلد مالكاً، ولا الشافعي، ولا الأوزاعي، ولا الثوري، وخذ من حيث أخذوا ". [al-Fulānī (p. 113) and Ibn al-Qayyim in Iʿlām (2/302) And in a narration: “Do not copy your dīn (ie: religion) from anyone of these, but whatever comes from the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions, take it; next are their Successors, where a man has a choice.” And he said more than once: “al-ittibāʿ (ie: following) means that a man follows what comes from the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions; after the Successors, he has a choice.” [Abū Dāwūd in Masāʿil of Imām Aḥmad (p. 276-277)] أبو داود في " مسائل الإمام أحمد " (ص 276 و 277). 2. “The opinion of al-Awzāʿī, the opinion of Mālik, the opinion of Abū Ḥanīfah: all of it is opinion, and it is all equal in my eyes. 2- " رأي الأوزاعي، ورأي مالك، ورأي أبي حنيفة؛ كله رأي، وهو عندي سواء، However, al-ḥujjah (ie: the proof) is in al-āthār (ie: the narrations from the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions).” وإنما الحجة في الآثار". Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr in Jāmīʿ Bayān al-ʿIlm (2/149) “Whoever rejects a statement of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is on the brink of destruction.” 3- " من رد حديث رسول الله صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؛ فهو على شفا هَلَكة ". Shaykh al-Albānī's Shaky Relationship With His Father
al-Shaykh: So when we (ie: Shaykh al-Albānī and his father) would debate I would do so with the ḥadīth and the Sunnah, And he would say (ie: debate me with): “The maḏhab.” And when such research would become unbearable – and I had a lot of endurance for it, Add to that the fact that I was a youth and he was middle-aged Shaykh (ie: an old man) Rather – he would say, “ʿThe science of ḥadīth is the profession of al-mafālis (ie: the bankrupt)!” فكان يقول: " علم الحديث صنعة المفاليس " - May Allah have mercy on him and forgive us and him. Most of our time in the shop was like this: majādillah (ie: spent debating). And by continuing to study the Sunnah and the ḥadīth the common mistakes of the people and the mashāykh of the time became clear to me.

Blind-Following (Taqleed) -The Sayings of the Four Imams !!
Abu Haneefah (rahimahullah)
" When a hadeeth is found to be saheeh, then that is my madhhab "
📝Ibn `Aabideen in al-Haashiyah (1/63)
📝Shaikh Saalih al-Fulaani in Eeqaaz al-Himam (p. 62)
"When I say something contradicting the Book of Allaah the Exalted or what is narrated from the Messenger (ﷺ), then ignore my saying "
📝Al-Fulaani in Eeqaaz al-Himam (p. 50),
[This does not apply to the mujtahid, for he is not bound to their views anyway, but it applies to the person who performs taqleed]
Maalik ibn Anas (rahimahullah)
"Truly I am only a mortal: I make mistakes (sometimes) and I am correct (sometimes). Therefore, look into my opinions: all that agrees with the Book and the Sunnah, accept it; and all that does not agree with the Book and the Sunnah, ignore it"
📝Ibn `Abdul Barr in Jaami' Bayaan al-'Ilm (2/32),
Shaafi'i (rahimahullah)
"The Muslims are unanimously agreed that if a sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah ( ﷺ ) is made clear to someone, it is not permitted for him to leave it for the saying of anyone else."
📝(Ibn al-Qayyim - A'laam ul-Muwaqqi'een vol.2, р.361)
"If you find in my writings something different to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ ), then speak on the basis of the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ), and leave what I have said.
📝An-Nawawee, al-Majmoo' (1/63) and
📝Ibn al-Qayyim, A'laam ul-Muwaqqi'een (2/361)
Ahmad ibn Hanbal (rahimahullah)
"Do not follow my opinion; neither follow the opinion of Maalik, nor Shaafi'i, nor Awzaa'i, nor Thawri, but take from where they took."
📝Ibn al-Qayyim in I'laam (2/302)
"Whoever rejects a statement of the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu `alaihi wa sallam) is on the brink of destruction "
📝Ibn al-Jawzi (p. 182)2)
📝Assal Sifat as-Salah 1/p.32
......
Shaykh Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Hasan (the grandson of Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahab), rahimahullah, said: "In the words of Imaam Ahmad, rahimahullaah, is an indication that doing taqleed before the proofs reach a person is not blameworthy. Rather, the one who is to be censured is that person to whom the proofs reach, yet he opposes them due to [adhering to] the saying of his scholar. "
............................................
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said:
"No one has to blindly follow any particular man in all that he enjoins or forbids or recommends, apart from the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). The Muslims should always refer their questions to the Muslim scholars, following this one sometimes and that one sometimes. If the follower decides to follow the view of an imam with regard to a particular matter which he thinks is better for his religious commitment or is more correct etc, that is permissible according to the majority of Muslim scholars, and neither Abu Haneefah, Maalik, al-Shaafa’i or Ahmad said that this was forbidden." 📝Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, 23/382.
............
Based on this, there is nothing wrong with a Muslim being a follower of a certain madhhab, but if it becomes clear to him that the truth (concerning a given matter) is different from the view of his madhhab, then he must follow the truth.
