custom theme isnt technically a requirement but i THINK if it's disabled you dont have a [blogname].tumblr.com url. also, it's just fun to have your own theme! you can customize it pretty much however you want, and you can search online for premade themes
Whew okay, I just spent like 3 hours figuring it out- I found a theme I like!! Thank you to the person who suggested /glenthemes!!

task one: self para | reaping
With the announcement of the rules for the first Quarter Quell, Mars was required to put in their votes to elect the two tributes for the Games. Despite not having stepped foot in District Three for almost thirteen years, they hadn’t been isolated from people from their home district. Though they wouldn’t vote for any of the people that they worked with, or the students that they had taught briefly when they came for internships. Instead, Mars opted to vote for an old teacher that they thought had been a bitch to them along with a boy–now an adult man--that had played a prank to embarrass Mars in front of their class. Mars hoped that they were still alive, at least.
The reaping itself had usually become background noise for Mars while they worked on whatever project preoccupied them. They’d listen in when it was time for District Three before returning the majority of their focus back to work. This year it was a little different, when they were reminded that the Reaping was about to air, Mars simply told the woman, a coworker who grew up in the Capitol, that they were too busy and they’d find out who was reaped when they arrived at the Capitol anyway.
“You do realize that you are also a potential candidate for these games right?” she said, a look of disbelief on her face as Mars shrugged and turned their music back up. The woman yelled over the music, “You can be reaped, Mars, wouldn’t you want to know that you were or not?”
Mars sighed, looking back at their coworker with a smile, “Let it be a surprise!” They turned back to their work and didn’t know how long their coworker remained there; if they were reaped, they knew that the Capitol would send people to let them know and to remove them from their work. Besides, who would really vote for them – are there a lot of people in Three that actually remember them at this point?

Can we talk about Justice Lord J'onn for a moment? Because I feel like I was robbed. A Better World could've showcased how J'onn had changed due to loosing yet another person he cares for, and I frequently think about what the conversation between him and his Justice League counterpart would've been like.
Like Justice League J'onn would be so critical of him but he'd be like, "You'll be like me eventually." And that would've scared Justice League J'onn so badly IMO.
I also wish we could've seen more of how people's freedoms were taken in the Justice Lords' universe. Because something tells me Justice Lord J'onn no longer has an issue with using telepathy on those who don't accept the new regime.
YES PLEASSEEEEEEEEE. I can talk about J'onn all day and I can DEFINITELY talk about Lord J'onn omg.
YOU'RE SO RIGHT. He really didn't get enough screentime in the episode. I love love love what he got though and it says a LOT to me about his character tbh. He's very close and even kind of casual with the other Lords and he honestly seems like he doesn't want them to be on the ground [away from the Watchtower where they're protected ??? take it as you will] at least until they convince him it's necessary. He's got no problem lying to outsiders and taking advantage of their trust, and just generally going along with whatever the group decides. He reads kinda "I survived the loss of one family and I won't fail my new one [again]." to me. [this has me thinking like, what if Lord J'onn has this immense guilt bc his morals didn't allow him to read Luthor's mind without permission and that would've prevented Wally's death. SO HE DOESN'T HOLD BACK ANYMORE. fellas he makes me so sad. I make myself sad thinking about it. ow]
OH I TOTALLY AGREE, and to add, I think the conversation in Divided We Fall would be "You're already like me." [ALSO I'M STILL MAD HE'S THE ONLY ONE WE DIDN'T SEE FIGHT IN THAT SCENE.] I've got a little on this coming up in my J'onn ramble part 2 but we can see in JLU that he's already going down that road, however he knows and regrets it, he doesn't WANT to get to that point. So having that version of him that he KNOWS exists, that he's trying so desperately to keep himself from becoming, telling him he's already past that point would be a horrifying wakeup call. And I could easily believe this was a big driving force in why he ends up leaving four episodes later [he DID try to leave at the end of A Knight of Shadows sooooo 👀]. That's not going to go away especially for someone who's so intensely empathetic.
GOOOOOODDDDDDDD, I could genuinely just watch an entire DCAU series about the Justice Lords, they scratch such a specific itch in my brain and I'm so fascinated by them. I 10000000% agree with you. J'onn with no holds barred, J'onn who has lost too much, J'onn who genuinely believes it's him and his family against the world for better or for worse, he's not going to lose anyone else. LOOK AT STARCROSSED. When everything was at stake he didn't just invade Kragger's mind, he DESTROYED it. And J'onn is already incredibly impulsive as is, so if it's going to come down to the safety of his League family or the world ?? Game over. He's not even going to think twice. I actually talked about the telepathy issue in my long analysis and you are 1000% correct. In JLU J'onn already has less and less issue just taking whatever he wants from others' minds, it would genuinely only take a slight push for him to start using his powers to force people into line, so it's easy to assume this is the case for Lord J'onn. And honestly ??? League J'onn is angrier, he's more involved, he's kind of ruthless doing whatever it takes to protect his family [and only stops short because he constantly, consciously knows he has to keep himself in check. even that holds him back less and less as JLU goes on]. I think he'd be even scarier than Lord J'onn had Divided We Fall ended differently. Hell, he nearly sacrificed the world once, and that was way before he really saw the worst humanity had to offer.
or perhaps Lord J'onn was the same way at the same point in his timeline, and we just saw him after the world was already secured and he could sit back a little ?? that could explain a lot tbh. like I said, I could talk circles about him 😂

I don't usually think I could do better at a task because I think I would be a combination of Victoria and Ivo on a good day lol But THIS TASK was SO frustrating! The give a one minute lecture on the random year you've unknowingly picked like HOW THE FUCK WERE THEY ALL SO BAD!
And like Jenny got the FIRST YEAR OF THE ENGLISH CIVIL WAR
And Kiel got 1500 which is right after the Renaissance starts in most of Europe . And I mean even if I don't know specifics details about the middle age dates Ivo and Mae had like they couldn't find anything more to say about the middle ages? LIKE WHAT!
I'm also weirdly pissed on Frankie's behalf because I think they should have given him the there must be some sort of brutal English bastard as a king 'cause c'mon from a Scottish (and rest of the world perspective tbf) it's more than probably true. (and after checking that King was Henry V so that checks out completely)

Alt verse title: The one who stands upon the world's end; lancer verse
The King of Storms.
The Lion King.
He who wields not the holy sword of the planet but instead the sacred lance, Rhongomyniad.
A version of the King of Knights that came about due to extraordinary circumstances.
In this life, this Arthur did not draw Caliburn at the time he did in the normal timelines of history. Instead becoming a simple wandering knight who one day was called back to the field where the Sword of Selection awaited by Merlin. No longer a naïve youth who would have innocently drawn the sword without a thought of what awaited him, this Arthur instead drew Caliburn from the stone with a clear goal in mind for how he would be king. Due to experience and a lifelong confidant in Bedivere, he was quickly able to prove his worth to the other kings, including King Lot of Orkney without need of a war.
Still, some things are set in stone...if not always in the right order.
When Caliburn broke instead of immediately setting out towards the pure waters of the faerie-blessed lake, Arthur instead was guided towards the sacred lance, Rhongomyniad. Thus, despite eventually obtaining Excalibur as well, the lance was his primary weapon.
Perhaps it is because of this that there was no Battle of Camlann.
Instead, the final fated battle took place against the forces of the mad emperor of Rome, Lucius Tiberius, who (in this timeline) had grown to a near unstoppable force. In the end due to Rhongomyniad and Excalibur was Arthur able to triumph, but his wounds were fatal. And Bedivere carried the King to that pure forest on the borders of the lake...
