According to Max J on Twitter, OnePlus is set to announce its first pair of truly wireless earbuds in July. He also shared a flat rendering of the earbuds, which he says are based on the “actual design.” Like we’ve seen with many TWS earbuds on the market, they closely resemble the original AirPods. They feature an open design without rubber tips and a “stem” that hangs out of the ear. In an earlier tweet, Max posted an image depicting earbuds charging cases as well. It’s not clear if these are based on actual designs, though. Max says this information comes for a new but “seemingly reliable source,” so we have to take this with a pinch of salt. It certainly wouldn’t be surprising to see OnePlus release its own truly wireless earbuds. We would expect a name like “Bullets Truly Wireless” or something to that effect. . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #oneplus #trulywirelessearbuds #wirelessearbuds #earbuds #oneplusearbuds #twitter #tws #airpodspro #airpods #apple #appleairpodspro #appleairpods #bulletswireless #bulletswirelessz #oneplusbulletswireless https://www.instagram.com/p/CAPNuU0AGCq/?igshid=1w6nxafv38bfu

In the latest build of OnePlus’ Oxygen OS Open Beta for the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro, a couple of new changes to the camera were added that enable a couple of new video recording modes. While the official changelog was posted over at the OnePlus Forums, it didn’t make mention of these new video modes. The feature was first discovered by Reddit user sneakerspark and this screenshot was posted to that thread. Others chimes in confirming the ultrawide camera’s addition of a 4K recording option. Oxygen OS Open Beta 3 for both the 7T and 7T Pro have enabled 960fps slo-mo at 720p resolution. Currently, all OnePlus devices since the OnePlus 6 Pro can only record at 480fps at the same resolution. Since neither the ultrawide or main 48MP sensors on the 7T have the hardware needed to record at 960fps, the additional frames are interpolated from 480fps. The other addition is an option to record 4K video using the ultrawide camera. Neither the OnePlus 7 Pro, nor the OnePlus 7T offered this feature, but the 7 Pro was updated to unlock the new recording resolution with the ultrawide camera – it just took a while before the 7T would be updated for the same feature. There's still no word from OnePlus as to when these features would arrive in official the official builds of Oxygen OS - it hasn't even mentioned them in the changelog. . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies_page_update #techies_page_oxygenos #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #oneplus #oneplus7t #oneplus7tpro #oneplus7 #oneplus7pro #oxygenos #update #4k #slomo #fps #beta #softwareupdate https://www.instagram.com/p/CAPHq0XAz-j/?igshid=8ewp40gts7xe

Verizon requires any OEM that sells unlocked devices with support for its LTE 4G network to apply for certification. When OnePlus began selling the 8 and 8 Pro from its online store in the US on April 29 – neither of these phones were officially supported on Verizon’s network. OnePlus initially issued a statement prior to the 8 and 8 Pro’s launch that it would not be compatible with Verizon until possibly June. In a turn of events, effective immediately, US unlocked variants of the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro can be activated on Verizon’s LTE network. The news was brought by Verizon Corporate PR Manager, George Koroneos via Twitter. Koroneos recommends that Verizon customers go to the Verizon BYOD (Bring your own device) website, log in, and enter the device’s IMEI number. Simply popping your SIM card into the phone is not recommended and doing so may limit the full activation of features on Verizon’s network. We should also remind you that neither unlocked version of the 8 or 8 Pro is compatible with Verizon’s mmWave 5G network. Only the OnePlus 8 (non-Pro) sold directly from Verizon will support 5G on the carrier. Verizon was once a CDMA carrier, which meant it wasn’t compatible with any GSM unlocked device that you could simply pop a SIM into. Verizon required devices to have CDMA hardware that would specifically support Verizon. Once 4G LTE became the standard and the carrier’s 3G-CDMA network was phased out, Verizon stuck with the notion of only allowing certain devices to work on its network. . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies_page_verizon #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #oneplus #oneplus8pro #oneplus8 #oxygenos #verizon #cdma #gsm #carrier #5g #4g #network #usa #unitedstates #uk #iceland #switzerland #australia #canada #india #china #shotononeplus #neversettle #unlocked #sim https://www.instagram.com/p/B_1X8tXAhk_/?igshid=15vrw13g7asca

OnePlus has issued two updates so far to fix bugs and other issues, and the company started widely rolling out another update to address even more issues. For the 8, the company rolled out OxygenOS 10.5.4 for EU models and OxygenOS 10.5.5 for Indian and International models. For the 8 Pro, OnePlus rolled out OxygenOS 10.5.6 for EU, Indian, and International models. We have the changelog and most of the download links below. OxygenOS 10.5.4 (8/EU), 10.5.5 (8/IN/Int.), 10.5.6 (8 Pro EU/IN/Int.) Changelog System Fixed known issues and improved system stability Camera Refined the dirt detection capability to be more accurate than ever Improved the camera’s shooting experience with the front camera Improved the stability Network (International) Communication stability further enhanced As you can see, the changelog isn’t very extensive. The only refinement that tells us exactly what has been changed is to the dirt detection capability. When there’s dirt on the camera lens, the camera app will alert you to clean the camera. This detection has apparently been improved to be “more accurate than ever.” . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #oneplus8pro #oneplus8 #oneplus8series #update #softwareupdate #updates #ota #usa #uk #unitedkingdom #unitedstates #india #europe #canada #iceland #switzerland #dirt #detection #camera #shotononeplus #oxygenos #changelog #indian #eu #germany https://www.instagram.com/p/B_wRKudgbU2/?igshid=15rdpbj481i24

Last week OnePlus finally delivered on a promise they made back in October of 2019: to update both the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T to Android 10. As such, the first OxygenOS Open Beta based on Android 10 was released for both phones, allowing users to test drive the early software release and provide their feedback ahead of the official rollout. It may take several rounds of Open Beta releases before we see the final update rolled out, but we’re making steady progress in that direction as the second OxygenOS Open Beta based on Android 10 has just been released for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. As expected, Open Beta 2 is mostly a bug-fixing update, and we’re not seeing any major shuffle in terms of new features or UI changes. The update optimizes the split-screen experience, improves general stability, fixes unspecified bugs, and also bumps the Android security patch level to April 2020. The full changelog for Open Beta 2 is as below: System Optimized split-screen operation experience Improved system stability and fixed general bugs Updated Android security patch to 2020.04 For some reason, this update will not be rolled out as OTA to Open Beta 1 users — as OnePlus previously mentioned in their blog post. Instead, users will have to install it manually. If you’re running the first Android 10-based Open Beta or the latest Android 9 Pie-based stable release, you should be able to install the new update without losing any user data. But if you’re coming from the last Android 9 Pie-based Open Beta, make sure to backup your data beforehand as flashing the Open Beta build will wipe everything. . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies_page_oxygenos #techies_page_update #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #oneplus #oneplus5 #oneplus5t #oxygenos #beta #update #softwareupdate #australia #canada #usa #uk #unitedkingdom #unitedstates #iceland #india #china #germany #southkorea #argentina #europe #france #spain #securitypatch https://www.instagram.com/p/B_uH2AcA-Ur/?igshid=11fnsdcsc2nql

The OnePlus Z is the missing link in the company's early 2020 roster, as it should be the model to try and alleviate the price hikes undergone with the launch of the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. Initially thought to be called OnePlus 8 Lite, the Z is still coming, only later. According to the latest mumblings on the matter, it should see the light of day in July. Today a new rumor claims the OnePlus Z will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765 chipset, and not the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L, as suggested countless times before. On first blush this seems to just be a case of some leaksters getting things wrong, but there's an alternative explanation here. So bear with us as we go into unconfirmed speculation territory. What if the delay in the release of the Z is actually connected to the SoC choice? What if initially the OnePlus Z was supposed to launch alongside the 8 and 8 Pro, with the Dimensity chipset, but in the meantime Qualcomm got in touch with OnePlus and made it "an offer it can't refuse" for the 765? After all, OnePlus has exclusively been using Qualcomm chips since it was founded, and its close collaboration with Qualcomm's engineers is touted at almost every event or press briefing. So would Qualcomm simply accept that the company that it used to be an exclusive supplier to would just change course? Maybe not. The unfortunate thing here is that the Dimensity 1000 and 1000L seem to be much more powerful chips than the Snapdragon 765, so if the latter will be picked then let's hope that OnePlus' software optimizations will ensure that the Z won't feel significantly slower than an 8 or 8 Pro. As always, take all of this with a good serving of salt, because it's all unconfirmed at the moment. . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #oneplus #oneplus8pro #oneplus8 #oneplus8series #oneplus7t #oneplus7tpro #oneplus7 #oneplus7pro #oneplusz #oneplusx #snapdragon765 #qualcomm #usa #uk #india #indonesia #europe #australia #dimensity1000l #dimensity1000 #mediatekdimensity1000l #mediatekdimensity1000 #mediatek #canada #germany https://www.instagram.com/p/B_rVtXtAwK0/?igshid=xg6iehcv5bnf

OnePlus announced the IDEAS Beta Run program a while back inviting everyone in the community to help improve OxygenOS through implementing new features. Here's the list of top 15 features that await adoption and a link to each one in the community forum. 1. Edge notification light 2. OnePlus Dex 3. Call recording 4. Use Google apps instead of custom ones 5. Study mode 6. API support for Gcam 7. Improve the adaptive brightness 8. Custom fingerprint animations 9. Real-time weather wallpaper 10. Real One Hand Mode 11. AMOLED dark 12. Boost capabilities of the alert slider 13. An option to set battery charging limit to 80% 14. Variable charging speed 15. Allow users to choose which stock apps to install during set-up Some of them are pretty self-explanatory but we did find a few quite clever and seemingly easy to implement. The edge notification light, for example, is a nice substitute for the LED notification light so a user suggested an option to extend the duration of the Edge notification light, so even if you missed the first blink, you will see the next ones. Another really cool one is to add more customization options for the alert slider. We remember this being a thing in previous OxygenOS iterations before Android 9 Pie. Anyway, a set of five suggestions weren't included as they happen to be already in development. The most sought-after functionality is the Always-on display and OnePlus gave a rough time frame in which we can expect it to hit the devices. If everything goes to plan, users will get it sometime in August/September. Fingerprint lock for hidden pictures in the gallery, playing sound when the phone has finished charging, folders within the app drawer and adding more "essential features" to the Zen Mode are also on the roadmap and should arrive with future updates. . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #oneplus #oneplus8pro #oneplus8 #oneplus7t #oneplus7tpro #oneplus7 #oneplus7pro #oneplus6 #oneplus6t #oxygenos #beta #ideas #amoled #led #api #gcam #studymode #callrecording #charging #android10 #androidpie #australia #usa #uk #india https://www.instagram.com/p/B_rFxaWgPGm/?igshid=1nzgsavet5qe0

OnePlus Z pops up in alleged hands-on image. While OnePlus successfully launched its 8-series flagships earlier this month, the company's midrange option the OnePlus Z - is yet to see daylight. We saw recent reports claiming the device is due to launch in July and now we have our first alleged hands-on image thanks to the folks over at True-Tech. As expected, the phone sports a flat display with a single centered punch hole. Judging by the instructions on the display it will come with a built-in fingerprint reader. This also means the OnePlus Z will employ an OLED panel, likely of 90Hz refresh rate as last year the company committed to using that as a minimum in future products. According to past rumors the diagonal will measure between 6.4 and 6.5-inches. The OnePlus Z is also expected to bring MediaTek Dimensity 1000L chipset, 8GB RAM and 128 GB storage. Around the back, we’re expecting a triple camera setup with a 48MP main shooter. The phone will likely ship with Oxygen OS on top of Android 10 and a 4,000 mAh battery. . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #oneplus #oneplusz #oneplusx #mediatekdimensity1000l #dimensity1000l #oled #8gbram #android10 #90hz #triplecamera #48mp #oxygenos #4000mah #reports #oneplus8pro #oneplus8 #rumors #usa #unitedstates #uk #unitedkingdom #australia #europe #china #india https://www.instagram.com/p/B_mWNQugoTs/?igshid=1n8xq85v03bci

OnePlus had taken to Instagram, Twitter and Facebook yesterday to post an announcement regarding the pre-booking. The brand had posted an image with all colour variants of OnePlus 8 series and a text that says “OnePlus 8 Series Pre-booking starts midnight. Stay tuned.” The image also revealed that the pre-booking will be held on Amazon India. OnePlus had shared, “Precede and you shall tread upon a ‘rewarding’ path. Cryptic much? Stay tuned to know more” as the caption. As has been done in the past, OnePlus is asking users to pre-book a OnePlus 8 series device by purchasing a gift card worth Rs 1,000 or more, which will be sent to user’s email ID. The pre-booking will be live from April 29th to May 10th. After the user receives the gift card, they will need to make the purchase of a OnePlus 8 or 8 Pro device between May 11th and June 30th to get Rs 1,000 back as Amazon Pay balance. The Amazon Pay balance will reflect in the user’s account within 30 days from the date of purchase. . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #oneplus #oneplus8pro #oneplus8 #prebook #prebooking #prebookings #sale #instagram #facebook #twitter #post #oneplus8series #purchase #amazonindia #amazon #india #amazonpay #giftcard #giftcards #account #usa #uk #unitedstates #unitedkingdom #snapdragon865 https://www.instagram.com/p/B_jgygCgUPA/?igshid=s45mjtcqyzy9

The OnePlus Z – the expected “lite” version of the 8-series – did not join its siblings during the April 14 event. Now leakster Max J is hinting that the phone will be revealed in July instead. As with many things these days, the delay of the Z was blamed on the COVID-19 outbreak. Unofficially anyway, OnePlus never confirmed that it is working on a “lite” model. This was set to be the first OnePlus phone not to use a Snapdragon chipset, allegedly opting for a MediaTek Dimensity 1000L instead. That would still enable 5G connectivity, of course. Interestingly, the outline of the device (shared by Max) shows the selfie camera in the center instead of top left like on the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. And this appears to be a punch hole rather than a notch like previous generations. This lines up with renders we saw of the OnePlus Z way back in December last year. They also show that the back will differ from the OnePlus 8 by moving the triple camera to the corner. An AMOLED display is likely, but the refresh rate is up in the air. The OnePlus Z will be the company’s first attempt at a mid-ranger since the – dare we speak its name? - the OnePlus X. And given the increased prices of the 8-series, now seems like a great time to take another swing at an affordable phone. . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #oneplus #oneplusz #oneplusx #amoled #mediatekdimensity1000l #dimensity1000l #5g #renders #covid19 #oneplus8pro #oneplus8 #punchhole #mediatek #snapdragon #snapdragon865 #affordable #usa #europe #uk #canada #australia #unitedstates #unitedkingdom #russia #germany https://www.instagram.com/p/B_iNi6IAA-2/?igshid=1d7qxemylrylw

The new OnePlus duo doesn’t officially launch in the US until tomorrow, but some already received their pre-orders. However, those that intended to run their new phone on Verizon’s network are faced with compatibility issues. The phones require something called “CDMA-less” mode to operate on the carrier, but that can’t be activated – Verizon’s network has a whitelist of allowed devices and OnePlus is yet to send a list of IMEI numbers for the carrier to add to said whitelist. People in the OnePlus forums are reporting that their phones mostly work, though they complain of occasional dropped calls and missed texts. For others, however, the phone won’t connect at all. The OnePlus page previously claimed support for Verizon, but that has since been updated. Note that this affects both the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro – Verizon’s custom version of the 8 will be supported from day 1, but it will cost $100 more as it supports mmWave 5G and is IP68 rated (while the vanilla version isn’t). So, if you bought a OnePlus 8 or 8 Pro to use on the Verizon network, you should consider sending it back as you will have to wait quite a while for official support. OnePlus says “Our OnePlus 8 series open market phones in North America will not be compatible with Verizon until June at the latest. The OnePlus 8 purchased through Verizon will be certified immediately.” . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies_page_verizon #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #oneplus8pro #oneplus8 #oneplus #verizon #verizonwireless #usa #uk #unitedstates #unitedkingdom #cdma #imei #network #ip68 #5g #northamerica #canada #mexico #us #southkorea #china #unlocked #mmwave #india #snapdragon865 https://www.instagram.com/p/B_hknapgw3l/?igshid=17nvn37260sel

Over on the official OnePlus forums, Manu J., Global Product Operations Manager at OnePlus, announced that the company is ready to roll out the first beta OxygenOS 10 build based on Android 10 for the OnePlus 5 and 5T. OnePlus wants interested users to test this release before the company rolls out the update to the wider public. Because this is a test build, it won’t be available via an OTA update. However, unlike other Open Beta builds, you will receive OTA updates for future OxygenOS stable builds as well as Open Beta builds. That means you won’t have to wipe the data on your device to migrate from the Android 10 beta release to the stable release, but do keep in mind that if you’re still on the final Android 9 Pie-based OxygenOS Open Beta, you’ll have to perform a data wipe to upgrade to this new Android 10 beta release in the first place. Here is the stated changelog for the Android 10 Open Beta 1 update: Changelog System Brand new UI design brings light and fluid experience Updated to Android 10 Full Screen Gesture (OP5T Only) Newly added Hidden Bar to allow left-right switches of recent apps In addition to the changes listed here, there are also other features introduced in Android 10 and OxygenOS 10. . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies_page_update #techies_page_android10 #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #oneplus #oneplus5 #oneplus5t #android #android10 #update #softwareupdate #beta #ui #oxygenos #oxygenos10 #ota #openbeta #usa #unitedstates #uk #unitedkingdom #australia #indian #russia #canada #southkorea #china https://www.instagram.com/p/B_eAOWUgY3_/?igshid=13w9en5hqebhn

Alongside the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, the company announced the Warp Charge 30 Wireless Charger, which puts out 30 watts of power to the Pro's induction coil (the vanilla model doesn't support wireless charging). The optional accessory is sold separately and retails for $70 in the US or €70 in Europe (where it's out of stock at the moment). We're now learning what the charger will cost in India, thanks to Ishan Agarwal - INR3,990. That translates to $52 or €48, so we reckon it'll be a pretty good deal if the number turns out to be correct, as it's still unofficial at this time. . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #oneplus #oneplus8pro #oneplus8 #warpcharge30wireless #onepluswarpcharge30wireless #wirelesscharger #wirelesscharging #usa #europe #india #germany #france #spain #canada #china #indianprice #price #america #southkorea #brasil #argentina #australia #sanfrancisco #newyork #mumbai https://www.instagram.com/p/B_aDF53A7FO/?igshid=3nvtaq38kqsc

A OnePlus spokesperson issued a statement to the outlet, explaining that the layoffs are due to a “normal restructuring” phase throughout Europe in order to focus on its stronger markets. It isn’t clear exactly how many employees were laid off, nor how many employees OnePlus plans to hire at this time. As per Engadget’s sources, other teams within Europe including Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, and Belgium are unaffected. Some employees were also asked to relocate to OnePlus speculative new EU headquarters from London, UK to Helsinki, Finland. Analyst Ben Wood of CSS Insight explains the possible reasoning for the restructuring of OnePlus in Europe. Wood attributes declining sales in the UK and the OnePlus 8’s availability with a single carrier: Three UK. Both EE and O2 no longer sold OnePlus phones after selling the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G and the OnePlus 6T, respectively. Wood explained that OnePlus is having trouble maintaining long-term relationships with carriers throughout Europe. “This has seen OnePlus jumping from one carrier to another with different generations of products. There also seems to be a growing sense that OnePlus has fallen into the trap of over-promising and under-delivering, which ironically is the complete opposite of how it behaved in the early days.” It’s too early to tell how successful the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will be, particularly with the economic disruption of COVID-19, which has seen worldwide smartphone sales decline across all phone makers. With the OnePlus 8 Pro now up in the $900-1000 price range, it needs to convince consumers why they should consider OnePlus over big players like Apple, Samsung, Oppo, and Xiaomi. . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies #techies_page #tech #technology #oneplus #oneplus8pro #oneplus8 #europe #uk #germany #france #finland #employees #denmark #netherlands #belgium #london #helsinki #eu #apple #samsung #oppo #xiaomi #vivo #covid19 #oneplus7pro #oneplus7pro5g #oneplus6t #css https://www.instagram.com/p/B_ZtOuhgzR7/?igshid=15lwdg1ikp4sw

The OnePlus 8 phones may be pricey, but they sure are popular – CEO Pete Lau posted that all versions of the 8 series have been sold out in China. The level of demand has surpassed the company’s expectations. Even the OnePlus 8 Pro at its CNY 6,000 price tag (close to $800) is all gone. The Pro model with 8/128GB memory proved to be the most sought after version, not that we’re surprised by this. And even though it’s less eye catching, admits the CEO, the OnePlus 8 has proven quite popular in its own right and is sold out as well. “Thank you for your support and understanding, we will resume sales and supply as soon as possible,” says Lau. He adds that OnePlus will focus on meeting the domestic demand by shifting its production capacity away from units meant for international sales and towards phones going to Chinese retailers. This won’t necessarily affect the availability in Western markets, however. We just checked and the European OnePlus sub-sites report shipping times around 3-4 days. Also, the North American launch is scheduled for the 29th, which is next Wednesday (originally, the Pro was going to launch on April 22). . . . . #techies_page_oneplus #techies_page #techies #tech #technology #oneplus8pro #oneplus8 #oneplus #sale #soldout #china #india #european #usa #uk #unitedstates #unitedkingdom #northamerica #petelau #demand #chinese #retailers #production #shifts #company #oneplusbulletswirelessz #bulletwirelessz #oxygenos #android10 #ceo https://www.instagram.com/p/B_ZoQU5ArpT/?igshid=s7hbo73xznb
