Isaac Lahey x Reader : Theft Of The Heart
Tumblr media
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Story Summary: You are new at the Beacon Hills High school and catch the attention of a certain lacrosse player. Being too shy to interact properly leads to awkward situations.
Notes: This was in my WIPs for so long omg.
Word count of this fic: 2.6K words. One-shot.
Warnings: None. It’s funny (I hope)  fluff.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
It was the first day at a new school after having moved to Beacon Hills with your family two weeks ago.
After one week, you were already hired at a small local grocery store.
Today was the start of a new direction in life and it was nerve wracking.
Making friends at a new school was never easy, but at Beacon Hill’s High you were rather quickly approached by Lydia who was now sitting next to you on the tribunes watching the lacrosse game.
You didn’t know who to cheer for, only knew to cheer for the ones wearing Beacon Hills uniforms.
Lydia did try to point at some players and name them, saying they were friends of her.
But they ran across the field constantly, so you barely had a chance to really spot them. You had to strain your eyes to be able to follow the game.
She on the other hand seemed to focus all her attention on player twenty-four.
You just tried to keep your eyes on who had the ball in their possession.
Player fourteen was running towards the opponent’s goal.
“Lydia, I think that one is going to score.” You nudged her arm and she snapped her attention to the player running at the goal.
Isaac had the ball and was running towards the goal of the opponents, his team mates where giving him cover. He was sure of victory, that was until he saw a new face sitting on the tribunes watching the game.
A pretty face…
It was too late to avoid the collision with a player from the other team and he ended up taking a fall.
The ball and victory was lost.
Scott hurried over to his fallen friend.
“What are you doing?! Did you fall asleep or something?” Scott helped him up from the ground.
Isaac mumbled the excuse “I tripped.”
“You alright?” Scott scanned him for injuries.
“Yeah…” Isaac nodded, attention continuously darting to the tribunes.
Scott snapped his fingers in front of his face “Hey, heads up. Keep your mind on the game.”
Isaac pulled his eyes away from the tribunes and tried to focus on what his friend was telling him “Got it.”
Scott patted him on the shoulder “Alright, cover me.”
                                                            ∘°∘♡∘°∘
At lunch, Scott noticed the way his friend’s attention kept being pulled to you sitting at a table with some of the other new students.
He nudged his elbow with his own, Isaac looked a little startled at Scott.
“What?” Isaac asked him a little agitated that he was pulled out of his daydreaming.
Scott just gave him a knowing look, trying his hardest not to laugh even just a little at Isaac’s reaction.
“She’s new.” Scott opened the door to the conversation.
Isaac cleared his throat, suddenly trying very hard not to look in your direction again “Who’s new?”
Scott snorted, shaking his head as he deadpanned “The girl that cost us a point in the game.”
Isaac frowned at him before he realized what Scott was really trying to say “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh, please. You’ve been staring at her since the second you saw her sitting in the tribunes with Lydia. Don’t even try to deny it.” Scott chuckled at his friend’s desperate attempt to hide the instant interest Isaac had for you.
“I’m not staring at her.” He bit the words at Scott and looked around him to see if no one was listening in on their conversation “..I thought I recognized her from somewhere. That’s all.”
“Yeah. You recognized her from when you let the other team knock you to the ground because you were too focused on her instead of the game.” Scott could tell with ease that Isaac was trying to bullshit his way out of this.
Isaac finally snapped “Okay, fine! Maybe I was looking at her, so what?”
“Go talk to her.” Scott said as if it was that simple.
Isaac lowered his voice “What?! No way.”
Now that Scott had him confessing, he wasn’t going to let it go so quickly “Why not?”
Isaac spoke fast, anxiety laced in his voice “Because I don’t know her. I don’t even know her name, what would I even say?”
“Ask for her name.” Scott said casually.
Isaac scoffed and turned away from him “You’re no help.”
“Chicken.” Scott muttered quietly, knowing damn well that Isaac could still pick up on it.
Isaac was about to reply when he saw you stand up from your seat at the table and walk in their direction. He felt himself freeze up completely, Scott’s eyes darted between you and Isaac as you walked past their table while chatting with one of the other new girls.
It was then that Scott failed to hold his quiet laughter at seeing Isaac look at you like a deer in headlights.
His poor friend seemed so rattled by your presence at the school that it made Isaac fall completely silent the closer you got to him.
A little help would be needed.
                                                                ∘°∘♡∘°∘
The days flew by, it was weekend before you knew it.
The place you worked at in the weekends was a small but busy shop. The work that had to be done everyday surpassed the staff that was available. In other words, you spend your time constantly hurrying from one chore to the other.
You were stocking the shelves while keeping an eye on the checkout area.
You often were so concentrated that you kind of zoned out sometimes, it was why you had failed to see him approach you.
“Hi…” His voice pulled you out of your concentration.
You turned and your eyes met with a pair of blue ones. You fumbled with the box containing a piece of soap as you were faced with someone you had seen around school before but had never talked to.
You knew he was handsome, but having him stand so close to you made you realize how truly good looking he actually was.
The tall, curly haired, blue eyed boy. The sight of him was enough for you to develop a small crush.
“Hi…” You greeted him after composing yourself, he was still a customer “Can I help you?”
He nodded, appearing a little nervous “Uh yeah, I’m looking for the…the uh…”
Another guy approached, one who’s name you thought was Scott, if you had heard Lydia right…
Scott looked at his struggling friend deciding to end this struggle “He’s looking for the feminine hygiene section.”
“Oh.” You believed it was why he had looked so nervous “Please, follow me. I’ll show you where it is.”
They both walked at a distance behind you and you were unaware of how Scott smacked a hand against Isaac’s shoulder and gestured in your direction.
Isaac quickly looked in your direction hoping you hadn’t noticed it before he glared at his friend.
“Here it is.” You stopped in front of the shelves filled with the many products “Anything else I can help you with?”
You were already starting to turn away, ready to go back to the work you were doing.
Scott saw Isaac struggle to find a good excuse to make you stay around them a little longer.
“Uhm… I uh…” He stammered again.
You waited patiently for him to form a sentence.
Scott sighed before speaking up again “Could you help us find the tampons?”
Isaac’s eyes snapped to Scott, why couldn’t he ask you to help him find anything else in this store?
He never should have mentioned to Scott that he thought you were pretty. But then again, Scott had probably noticed days ago when he caught him staring at you on the field. It was why he had collided with a player from the opposite team.
“It’s for a friend.” Isaac cleared his throat, not daring to look you in the eye.
“Sweet of you to come and buy it for them.” You send him a smile.
At that his eyes found yours, even though he felt very embarrassed, seeing your smile made him less self-conscious about all of this.
                                                               ∘°∘♡∘°∘
“The women’s hygiene section?!?” Isaac snapped at Scott the second he walked out the store.
Scott snorted at his reaction “What? Girls like a guy who is comfortable buying that sort of stuff.”
“Thanks a lot.” Isaac huffed.
Scott shrugged his shoulders, a quiet laugh escaped “Not my fault you failed to think of a better excuse to talk to her. Besides, she said it was sweet.”
It got on Isaac’s already delicate nerves “Yeah, well, now she’ll think this ‘friend’ is someone I’m dating. Ever think of that?”
Scott waved it away “You know what? Now that you know where she works, you can talk to her yourself. Just think of some question about a product and go ask her for help.”
He wasn’t sure of the plan “She’ll think I’m stalking her.”
Scott saw right through all the excuses of his shy friend “Isaac… it’s a shop. People go in there and ask questions every day. You’re not the only one, okay?”
                                                               ∘°∘♡∘°∘
On Sunday, you were sticking security stickers on the more expensive items in the store. Everything over nine dollars needed one to prevent it from being stolen.
The door of the store opened and in walked the handsome boy you had barely been able to talk to yesterday. Maybe you could at least find out his name today.
With one of the make-up mirrors up for sale, you quickly inspected your appearance before placing it back.
You were in the corner where the make-up was and saw him walk in your direction, stop and then walk the other way.
Oh…
Was he too shy? Or just not interested?
With the roll of security stickers in your hand, a plan formed.
You took one sticker off the roll and waited until he was looking at something. When he was looking at cereals, you walked past him and stuck the sticker to the elbow of his sleeve without stopping.
A customer was waiting at the register and it was the perfect excuse to have walked past him.
You rang up their items and helped the old lady put them in her bag, then handed it to her “Here you go, thank you and have a nice day.”
The lady gave a broad smile and left with her groceries.
Before you could leave the register, the handsome boy walked up and placed a single box of cereals on the counter.
“Good morning.” You made an effort to give him your sweetest smile.
He blinked a few times before finding his voice “Uh…good morning.”
That shy smile of his was adorable…
You accidentally knocked over the box and he reached for it at the same time as you.
His hand landed on yours, you froze, he froze…
With a nervous laugh, you broke the awkward tension and he quickly withdrew his hand.
“Sorry, I’m clumsy.” You apologized and rang up the box of cereals.
“It’s fine. So, am I.” He said.
You had grown quite nervous and felt yourself withdraw in your shell of shyness “That will be three dollars, please.”
He pulled some coins from his pockets and put them on the counter for you to count.
After counting them, you picked the change up and offered it to him “Your change.”
“Ah, nah. Uhm, you can keep it.” He was nearly caught staring a you.
“You sure?” You asked.
He gave a nod “Yeah.”
You smiled at him, appreciating the kind gesture “Thanks. I hope you have a good day.”
Poor Isaac was trying to think of something to say and when that didn’t work, he replied “Thanks. You too.”
There you stood, watching him head for the door, the boy who’s name you still didn’t know…
And then, the alarm of the store went off.
Oh, gosh…
You had almost forgotten about the security sticker and hurried over to him.
He looked ridiculously nervous and you felt a pang of guilt.
Even when he was sure he had not stolen a thing, Isaac began to search his pockets “Ah, crap…”
Oh, no…
“Oh! Wait… hold on for a sec…” You quickly pulled the tag from his sleeve, holding it up for him to see.
Realization dawned on him “That’s what set the alarm off? I don’t know how it got on me…”
You smiled like a sinner in church “Oh…it happens all the time here.”
He quirked a brow at you “Oh. Weird.”
“Anyway… sorry for bothering you. I hope I’ll see you in the store again and that this didn’t scare you off.” You stammered nervously.
He nodded quickly, a shy smile growing on his face “Yeah. Don’t worry, you’ll see me again.”
You nodded nervously, feeling like a fool for doing all this.
“I’m Isaac.” He suddenly blurted out and held out his hand.
You blinked twice before you took his hand in yours and shook it “Y/n.”
He looked almost flustered now “Nice to meet you. I wanted to get a chance to talk to you but I didn’t mean for it to happen like this.”
Did he think that you believed he would stick a security sticker on himself to get your attention? This was getting more and more ridiculous.
“I uh…” You stammered.
“Sorry if this is weird or something, I just-” He sounded so timid and sweet.
“I stuck the sticker on you.” You finally confessed.
Isaac frowned for a second “Why would you-… oh.”
A smirk spread across his face “So instead of trying a pick up line, you try to frame me for theft?”
“No! No, of course not I was just shy and stupid and -” You covered your face with your hands in shame.
He chuckled at your reaction “Don’t worry. It worked.”
What?
WHAT?!?
You couldn’t believe your shenanigans had actually worked on him.
The relief you felt was instant and you hoped to break the ice completely “But if you want a cheesy pick up line…we are supposed to tag everything above nine dollars. So I guess that means you’re a ten.”
His mouth was a little agape now and he chuckled “That uh… that’s not bad.”
You hummed in agreement.
Isaac scrambled all his courage together “Now that we’re on the topic of numbers… what’s yours?”
Your smile could not have been broader, you couldn’t believe that someone as cute as him would ask for your number.
Then you quickly looked around you for a piece of paper and a pen “Hang on… I’ll write it down for you.”
Isaac realized you were looking for something to write your number down on. He quickly took his phone from his pocket.
“Here. You can put it in my phone…if you want?” He clumsily handed you his phone, almost dropping it twice.
You gladly took the phone from him and added your number to his contact list, then handed him back the phone “Here you go.”
It was as if he couldn’t believe you had actually given him your number “Thanks…I’ll call you soon.”
You truly hoped he was being honest and that he would actually call you.
The both of you were suddenly interrupted when your boss asked you why you weren’t busy doing your job at the moment.
So you said a quick goodbye to Isaac and got back to work.
You were waiting for the familiar ringtone all day, waiting for his call.
Only at ten that evening did Isaac find enough courage to call and ask you out.
And of course, you said yes.

Part 1 of 50 Prompts of Healing!
1. Scott refuses to believe Theo when the guy starts going on about how Stiles brutally murdered someone. That’s his brother that Theo’s talking about, after all! In fact, Scott needs to get to Stiles right now, because if it is true, it’s obviously some side affect from the Nogitsune. There’s no way Stiles murdered at all, he needs to find out why Theo is trying to, to say all these crazy things and— Scott needs to check on Stiles. He remembers the other times he hasn’t.
2. Scott starts to like the way taking somebody else’s pain feels. He would never kill, he’s not built for that. He knows it’s cowardly. But taking the pain away is the least he can do for failing Allison and not being able to save her, it’s the least he can do for not being a good enough Alpha to notice Stiles’ losing his mind to the Nogitsune. It’s so easy to just hold the hands of whoever he has left. It’s easy to rest a hand on   Stile’s and Kira’s shoulders after a rough lacross game. It’s easy to swindle a high five out of Lydia when he notices her having headaches. It’s easy to take the pain away without them noticing. Strangely, after the Nogitsune, Scott finds it easier and easier to siphon away the ache of those arond him.
3. Scott really did mean well, it’s not his fault that he’s the hot girl! He was trying to help, damn it, and helping means making sure Stiles’ crush knows how great Stiles is! Scott tries to be a wingman for Stiles, but it just ends up with Derek thinking Scott and Stiles are together. Derek is a little confused.
4. Stiles travels back in time to after season one. He decides the best way to fix everything is by doing it by himself, so he fakes his death or goes missing.  Stiles did not factor in how Scott would react. It’s hard to control yourself when your anchor dies, even if you didn’t realize the person was an anchor. And soon, Scott's eyes are looking awfully blue. (Bonus points for wholesome Derek-babysitting-vengeful-and-angry-Scott).
5. To infiltrate a gang or some sort of supernatural society, Stiles and Scott have to pretend to be the darkest versions of themselves. Cue Scott acting like an asshole alpha who kills off useless pack members and Stiles acting like the Nogitsune with just a bit more sass. It’s oddly therapeutic for both of them.
6. Stiles’ dad is struggling to pay the bills. So is Scott’s mom. But Theo recently just moved out of his room at the Mccall house and the office downstairs isn’t really being used…Stiles and Scott living together shenanigans. Give me confused classmates, soft Mom Mccall for Stiles moments! Protective Sheriff Stilinski for Scott's moments!
7. Scott travels back in time to fix some things. It’s awfully suspicious to everyone else, especially after the fiasco of Void, when Scott starts insisting on killing, turning, or stalking certain people. A somewhat dark!Scott concept only, everyone (read: Stiles) is a little disturbed by it.
8. Stiles is struggling with feeling real after the Nogitsune leaves. Scott is there to help him count his fingers. Meanwhile, all Scott can think about is how easy it was to sink his claws into his friends’ necks. Or! Five times Scott helps Stiles feel safe to be around and one time Stiles helped Scott feel safe to be around.
9. Stiles just wants to be a supportive friend! And Danny always seems to know what going on too, so why would Stiles question it?  Stiles doesn’t know Isaac moved in with Scott. All he (and Danny, apparently) sees is them being around each other all the time, Isaac glancing at Scott all the time. Them just being Scott and Isaac now. Any good friend would do what Stiles did! Which is, of course, try to needle a confession of Scott like-liking Isaac and insisting that Scott can “Talk to me about anything, bro, I love you, dude,”
Alternatively, the above prompt but it’s Stiles and Derek with Scott trying his darndest to be supportive.
10. Stiles and Scott both time travel. Derek is so confused as to why there are kids on his doorstep insisting that there is, apparently, “An earthquake about to happen and you and your family need to come with us right now, promise, trust us, c’mon, let’s go!”

Kate: Oh no. I know that look. That's the you're gonna have to do it yourself look. She's so evil. I sitll wonder if she'd have had more like shaping Allison in s2 than Gerard. Would have been so fun to have her come back, then. Or have Chris die here instead. Both fascinating options for canon divergent fics that I will never write.

question that will affect our relationship are you more into thi/am or ste-rek. Asking for a friend!
OOOOO
Okay so I like ster-ek a lot tbh, and so many amazing writers have come up with incredible stories (chubstilinski being one that comes to mind) but…
I feel more of an emotional connection to thi/am since their canonical basis is a lot more tense instead of the goofy silly vibes I get from stere-k. Either dynamic gives a lot for fanwriters to work with, but I just vibe more with the enemies to allies to lovers thing thi-am had going on
I also really enjoyed theo’s redemption arc and the begrudging friendship between him and Liam in the final season. I also love how Liam’s most emotionally charged scenes happened when he was with theo
Their relationship is just very compelling to me (plus Liam is my fav teenw*lf character I love him SM 💖😭 and I want him happy and fat)

This is probably a strange ask for you. But do you recommend any other Sterek tumblr accounts? Whether that be for first, fanart, or general sterek content?
I feel like it's harder now to find sterek accounts and sterek mutuals than it was a few years ago.
I know a few. But a lot of them aren't active. But their archives are a wealth of fic.
@christinesficrecs obviously.
@werewolfwagon, @sterekcollection, @stereklibrary, @sourwolfstories are great old ones.

chapter five: a difference in bonds
AO3
There’s a difference between the bond that Stiles and Scott have made, and the Truth bonds screaming in Thomas’ soul.
Scott and Stiles have a bond of years of history and touch and love, created through the test of time. They have seen everything normal and a few things more, lived through death and destruction and possession, brothers through everything.
Thomas and his the Gladers - they weren’t his, they weren’t - were Truth bonds, forged in ash and fire and black black ash dust sand, and they tore in Thomas’ soul. Every step was a waste of energy without Minho by his side, every sarcastic aside useless with no Gally or Winston to snark back, every bite tasteless without the smoky quality from Frypan’s open-air fire.
Every breath, a waste of air without his Second - his alpha - by his side.
Their push and pull had kept Thomas back, had kept his impulses and his power at bay. Newt kept them together - the glue until the end - and Thomas led them to victory, barely a half step ahead. (It had worked a hell of a lot better than WICKED’s method. Thomas had never been good at being cowed in the face of fear, and neither had Stiles.) Thomas’ Second had kept him calm, tempered his fire with smooth mirror-like water, and Thomas had been thankful for it.
Stiles sighed, blinking away from where he’d been staring into his coffee blearily. He looked up at his dad, who was also, incidentally, falling asleep in his breakfast. He smiles wearily, tired of the screaming in his soul. Something pulled in his heart, almost painfully. Stiles stiffened.
Focusing in, he poked at the bond.
Oh.
“Dad?” Stiles asked, his lips pulled back in a snarl. Dad looked up. His eyes widened. “If I said that there was someone I needed you to consider taking in, would you?”
“I-” Dad sighed. “Where’s this coming from, Stiles?”
“I don’t know, ” Stiles ( Thomas? ) said. “I just think there’s something we should be worried about, something’s coming. ”
“Watch out, young’uns, storm’s a-comin,” Stiles’ dad said with a huff of laughter. “Yeah, kid. I’ll keep an eye out.” When he gets up to go, though, Stiles’ hand reaches out and grabs a hold of his wrist.
“I don’t know what’s coming, but I need to keep you safe. ” Thomas - Thomas - drew Safety on his dad’s arm carefully. Protection soon followed, and then Illusion, to keep him safe and secure and hidden from anyone unwanted. “ Ar-yo acser dien. ” A signature, a calm binding, so that anyone even the slightest bit versed in magic would know to stay away . The runes glowed red, and then disappeared into his dad’s arm.
“Stiles?” Thomas disappeared into Stiles, and he ( they? ) feel a soft pressure against his ( their? ) temple. “Thank you. I love you.” Stiles-Thomas smiles weakly. “I have to get to the station now, but I’ve called you and Scott out today.” Stiles looked up, confused. Dad smiled down at him ( them? ) gently. “You’ve been struggling, Stiles, don’t think I can’t see it. I just… I can’t always be here, I know I’ve been absent in the past, but-” He tugged Stiles into a hug. “- I know when you’re struggling, still, kochanie, ” he spoke into Stiles’ hair. “And you’re so, so strong.”
“You need to go, Dad,” Stiles said, blinking back his tears. “Thank you.”
He left thank you and I love you and all the other big feelings he’d never be able to get out into words and pushed them into those two sentences.
*
Scott came over to the Stilinski residence about an hour after the Sheriff left.
He had someone with him.
Someone who smelled of enemy , someone who smelled of the cloying, too-sweet scent of Erica and garlic-y emptiness that was Boyd. Stiles snarled, a knife in his hand and pointing at-
“Scott, what is Isaac doing here?”
“He-” Scott shrugged, helplessly, and Stiles-Thomas’ arms reached to him and yanked the other teen behind him. “ Oh- Stiles, Stiles, he’s safe, I swear-”
“... I saw something, and I think you might’ve wanted to see it too, and Derek’s been an asshole and Erica and Boyd both said that you were acting weird so I wasn’t sure if I should-” Isaac said. He gasped for air. “I don’t- are they-”
“Derek, Erica, and Boyd have had no spells, charms, or other enchantments put on them,” Stiles said flatly. “Everything they are doing is of their own violation.”
“O- oh .”
Stiles wanted to roll his eyes; couldn’t Isaac have sensed that?! (Probably not; Erica and Boyd could’ve sensed it, probably, could’ve smelled the madness on Derek, the cold calculatedness that reminded Stiles of Jan- no . Erica and Boyd were the same way right now.)
“Look, Isaac,” Stiles has been walking on a very thin line for the past twenty minutes. “Either get the hell out of my house, or sit the fuck down. ”
So.
So.
Here’s the thing . Isaac has done nothing wrong to Stiles - yet - and he really can’t judge the blond boy based on his probably-pack-members; can’t judge him on scents and not knowing when he’s done something wrong.
But.
But.
Thomas has been burned by trusting too loosely before - Teresa - and knows that he doesn’t know Isaac well enough, nor does he know the situation well enough, to actually be able to judge whether Isaac is safe .
Scott certainly seems to think Isaac is safe - he’s trying to eat Stiles’ maybe-it’s-tofu-maybe-it's-Maybelline pasta right now, and that’s for his dad, Scott, put it down, for the love of Oy-ra - but Thomas, hidden in the back of Stiles’ mind with the others on his own, was as welcoming to the blond boy as he had been to Janson, or Teresa’s entreating pleas in the WICKED building.
Which was to say, not at all.
Isaac left through the front door after Stiles insisted.

Okay, fine, but still, that just proves that there's something up with the bank. And why wait around for the full moon, huh? Why not just kill them whenever they want to?
Maybe they think it's poetic.

A FAREWELL TO TEEN WOLF
When I started Teen Wolf on MTV the day it aired, the summer before my sophmore year of high school , I honest to god almost shut off the television. I thought “This is the most cheesiest television show about a boy becoming a wolf.”
Needless to say, I watched episode two quickly after.
I remember being really involved in the rise of Tumblr and had a pretty good footing in The Hunger Games and Percy Jackson fandoms. But during that time, I had really never ventured out to other communtities. Both of those fandoms created great enviroments for me, but that was because I was there for the start of them. Teen Wolf was a fandom I joined a bit after the first season ended, and was unsure of my place when so many other people dominated the space (espeically since, at the time, I wasn’t great at creating content).
But in my years of Tumblr, there has been no greater family than the Teen Wolf family. There is no community like this, and trust me, I’ve been in a lot. I have met, connected, loved, bonded, and collaberated with so many people within this world, all because I watched this silly little show about teenagers and wolves and angst. I felt so welcomed and so encourgaed, that Teen Wolf was the first place I felt comfortable wiritng for, and delving into design more for. Withing a few months, I had switched urls from ohmymockingjay to stilinskyed and became a full-fledged Teen Wolf blog.
It’s crazy to think a television show would mold a good part of my personality and growth in high school, and it’s even crazier to try to explain it someone who isn’t connected to this community, but high school sucked for me. I was unhappy with my body, my mental health was taking a turn for the worst, and I had no social skills whatsoever. But you people made me feel so comfortable being myself, and do what I love, and share what I love.
So to some OG friends, thank you to @silverrargent, @mrsobrien888, @truegriefbeard, @queerlyalex , @wolftease, @sleepy-skittles, beth (im sorry i cannot find ur blog link omg rip), @magnusimon, thank you for just always being such amazing people through this. You all have touched my heart in so many ways. Even if we don’t talk much anymore, and even if you don’t fuck with teen wolf anymore, credit is due to the people that really made this show worthwhile. Thank you for the 2am frantic texts when I had headcannons rolling through my head, the years of encouraging messages, the constant last-minute beta-ing of my writing. I love you all.
And to, of course, @wolfbutts, my blonde bombshell in the photos. I love sharing our story of friendship bc it’s cute and really, I just love you. But Kaelyn and I met right before I came to college, on a forum to find freshman roommates for dorm selection. I remember that I had been messaging her and one other girl trying to decide who I might like more, but the minute me and Kaelyn awkwardly shared our intense love for Teen Wolf, I knew I was going to choose her. We moved in together, and for being literal polar opposites, we got along pretty well, probably because of this one thing, and for the fact that we had fandom blogs. We would watch Teen Wolf in our room together when it aired, sometimes with other friends, other times in our hall living area. We had posters up our Teen Wolf art in our room, and our gifts to each other seemed to revolve around the show.
Even now, almost four years later, me and her still watch the show together, and watched the finale together too. And it was so nostalgic, really, to sit with the person I entered into college with as complete strangers, and to be in my senior year, close to graduation, and to end the show with her.
My point is, the show, and this community, gave me oppertunities to meet people like Kaelyn, like Rachel, like Kayla and Beth, and all of you, and to create friendships and memories I wouldn’t trade for the world. All the con meet-ups where we put urls to faces, the Skype dates and video chats, the networks to talk about our otps and headcannons. I couldn’t have asked for a better community of people to share that with.
This show has been such a staple in so many of our lives for so many different reasons. It’s been relatable, comforting, and intriguing all at once. And even though at times it seemed to let our expectations down, it still shaped up to be a show that gave us way more than something to watch. It gave us an outstanding cast to cherish and support. It gave us a space to create and collaberate, and even made strides to put veiwers like us on the spotlight and thank us, through the After After Show and Wolf Watch, steps television shows rarely do to incorperate the fandom into the show. And even giving us the chance to find some role models in the cast (Meagan Tandy, you are the light of my life).
@teenwolf, to the cast, writers, and all the in-between, thank you for giving us this experience so that we could spend the last seven years finding and loosing ourselves in the story, the characters, and the family. I don’t know how my life would have turned out if it wasn’t for that first episode of two best friends on the search for a dead body, but I’m glad I don’t have to find out.
A Forever Fan,
Banna
