OOC: Writer Rambles

I'm not sure if it's been particularly obvious, but I've been in a creative slump lately. It happens to all creative folks from time to time, and I guess this is my turn.

Tips or thoughts on how you wiggle out of a creative slump are welcome! <3

Anyhow, I'm posting this here because I'm making my own attempt to kick the slump by throwing alt character creativity at it. Fantasia is in the air, yes-yes!

Ahem!

Those who knew of this Tumblr way back in its shiny new days might remember that it originally started as a multi-muse blog. The Spot of Mummery story itself has many of my OCs and adopted NPCs on the cast page, in fact!

While these characters still do pop up in my writing from time to time, they haven't been as in the forefront as they were back then. I'm hoping if I dust some of them off and bring them up to date, I might get some creativity flowing again.

Amon isn't going anywhere, don't worry! He's the glue that brings all of these other characters together. Still, I've long considered a small spin-off scenario that focuses on characters like Zuri, Koh/Noah, and Mocho, so maybe it's time to look into it.

I don't have any solid plans in mind, but I did want to share my thoughts here and gather thoughts.

Those of you who successfully juggle a whole stable of characters in a multi-muse blog, I'd love to hear your tips, too!

Some Direction - x Roronoa - Modern AU - The population is declining, so the World Government decided to step in and arrange marriage for most of its citizens. Lucky you, plucky little librarian, you've been paired with Roronoa Zoro. Good thing for you he's the protective type, because old childhood tragedies are trying to rear their ugly heads again.

Family Ties - x Doflamingo - Modern AU - Mafia style - You're the unofficially adopted daughter of Edward Newgate, and besties with the local clinic doctor. One day you find an injured man in an alleyway and decide to help him out. Dodging people who are trying to kill him, you manage a successful rescue, now if only you could stay out of Trouble >.>

Quicksand - x Crocodile - Modern AU (Part of the Grandline Metropolis Series) - Secretary to Buggy the Clown, District boss to the Rain Dinners Casino in the West Blue district, you got over your crush of the CEO ages ago. Recently you've been trying to date via a dating site, and soon you'll meet your match face to face!

Thrice Prophesized - x Roronoa - Modern AU (Part of the Grandline Metropolis Series) - Your first memory was of being chase by marines and practically blasted out of the sky. You wake up after being yanked from the water by a boy made of rubber, but your memories are shaky at best. All you know for sure is, you prophesized the fall of the ruling class, so maybe pirates are the best allies.

Family Practice - x Law - Set in the same AU as Family Ties, this story dives into a What If? - What if the reader had become more than Besties with Law? Same Reader Same AU - just... an AU of the AU xD 10 chapters

Souled Out - x Eustass - Someone's stolen your soul, and you want it back. You haven't aged in 25 years, and for the last decade you've been studying how to summon demons. Now's the day to see if it's paid off, and if your summoned help can actually help you. 3 Chapters

Unseen - x Killer - set in canon universe with non-canon events. I wanted to write a book where Killer gets smooches, and that's what this is. It kind of got away with me, and I think I have a LOT of chapters ahead of me. 13 chapters

Isn't Enough - x Marco - set in canon universe with canon events. Reader is a doctor on the Moby, and a crew mate of Marco's. But that just Isn't Enough. 5 Chapters

Whew.

Booked, Honeysuckle Red, and Heart of Gold only have two chapters a piece so far. Royal Pains is a bit stalled out, but I haven't given up on it.

None of this is counting two books of one-shots, and the following pending titles I don't even have on active rotation:

Look, I guess, what I'm saying is, if you followed me for my writing, I have a lot planned. Unless life punches me in the face, I update 3-5 times a week. I have a day job, and I play some D&D, but otherwise I write.

I even started another title called Mafia Inked - JUST TODAY - and I didn't plan it. I have no idea where it's going to go or anything. But that's what the brain does. I got the idea, meant to write some notes, wrote a first chapter.

ANYWAY - you don't have to go to Wattpad or Ao3 if you don't want (I'm Quinloki on both), everything will get here eventually. Wattpad's just kind of my workspace. So things post there unedited.

if we never get s4 of hannibal, i wish we could at least get a book version. imagine the entire hannibal series, scenes described exactly as fuller intended them to be, no set budget or censoring involved, only the constrictions of language

the actors were really important in adjusting the script to suit their interpretation of the characters, so my dream would be a book version (or script) that was checked/edited by the main actors and maybe later, an audiobook read by the actors... can you imagine 😭😭

i'm satisfied with the ending and with fan interpretations of what happened next, but i'm so desperate to know what bryan fuller's vision was

i know some people have grown to prefer the open ending which to an extent i agree with!

and even if it ends up being considered "not true canon," hannibal was always talking about what would happen in another life. to me, bryan fuller's version of s4 and beyond would just be one of those lives and i SO BADLY want to know what happens

Idk if anyone cares but for a while now I have been battling internally about my weight bc for the past few years now I've been gaining lots of weight it's kind of been depressing. My thought process was always like "fat people are beautiful, and I'd be beautiful too if I was someone else" and I always thought. Well it's because of my hips! And I started taking testosterone and my weight has been shifting and my hips were shrinking and I still felt a little. You know. Bad! Because in my head I still had this idea of ""What I will look like one day"" and it's not me!! It was never me!!

But lately I've started looking at fat men and instead of going "they're hot" but going "I want to look like that" end statement. Like, they're fat. I'm fat. I will look like them and I will be hot. It isn't the body I've always wanted, but I think I'm finally starting to actually want my body. And idk. I just wanted to put that out there to the world. Internalized fatphobia is hard, no matter how much love you project out to all the wonderful fat people in your life, you can't make excuses for why you don't like your own fat body. I'm glad I stopped doing that. And I still want to go to the gym, I mean, it'd be nice to lose a little weight. Or keep it stable. Save money on pants and all that. But mostly it's because I want to be active! I want to be strong! I want to have fun! I will never be a twink and that's ok!!

It still hurts sometimes, having my body the way it is. But I'm not letting myself wish I was different anymore (well, asides from the transitioning that is XD I do love my new voice)
